BTS Military enlistment thoughts...

These are my thoughts and opinions. Information is out there if you seek it yourself. Nothing has been confirmed by any of the members or the company.

News media says Korean male citizens Kim Namjoon, Kim Taehyung, Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook will be enlisting soon: Dec. 11 for the first two and Dec. 12 for the latter pair.

And that Jimin and Jungkook seem to have chosen the companion enlistment option. Yes, "option" because they could have chosen to go in separately.

Koreans who are familiar with how this all works, have tried to explain the process. From what I understand, the companion option allows them to serve their entire enlistment together.

They weren't forced and this wasn't their only option for enlistment. They chose this themselves for a reason, for personal reasons, that none of us can know because we aren't them.

Many speculate but NO ONE KNOWS their reasons!

According to various sources, they will be at the same training center as Jin. There are many groups doing ongoing training there. But I don't believe they will be in the same company that Jin serves as assistant trainer. Credible sources say that Jin's unit at the training center is not accepting recruits on Dec. 12 which is the supposed date that Jimin and Jungkook will enter the military but we don't know for sure. But being at the same training center would allow them to see each other when they have time.

This reunion:

We won't know for sure until it actually happens.

Many are throwing around wild speculation regarding the fact Jimin and Jungkook are the only two with tattoos and therefore had fewer options. But they aren't. All the members have tattoos now. The Korean military needs all the manpower they can get, they aren't excluding men with tattoos, they are just limiting the situations they can serve.

The options are limited (and only slightly) for them because very visible tattoos, especially on the arms and hands, would allow them to be identified too easily. This is a consideration and criteria that is regulated in militaries and law enforcement around the world and is not isolated to Korea. Criminals are identified by their tattoos. Military personnel can also be identified by visible tattoos. In a situation where it is imperative that enlisted remain anonymous, hand tattoos would be a dead giveaway for identification. I'm sure there are other reasons for no tattoos allowed in certain assignments.

The application process began months ago and is the same process all Korean male citizens would go through to be approved for the companion program.

No one is really discussing Tae and Namjoon, everyone is going batshit crazy over Jimin and Jungkook. Let them do their service in the manner they wish. None of you have any say-so in it so shut up.

No one is capable of or even wants to step back and consider the big picture which is more telling.

Regarding Tae and Namjoon, I would venture to say that after basic training, its possible Namjoon will serve in some capacity with the Defense Ministry's Agency for KIA Recovery & Identification which he was named ambassador for earlier this year. That office is located in Seoul I believe. The fact he is well-known publicly and he can speak English would enhance his success in an assignment of this sort. This agency recovers those who lost their lives in action during the Korean War in which American soldiers also perished.

Recovering those KIA happens near or in the DMZ.

IF the hearsay about where Jimin and Jungkook might be assigned after training has any truth, they are supposedly headed to this area as they also perform minesweeping when searching for KIA remains. Again, none of this is confirmed, I am just employing critical thinking...

Tae supposedly has chosen the Special Task Force of the Army's Capital Defense Command. That seems like it implies he'll remain within Seoul during his enlistment.

It's all speculation, but I think these men carefully considered their options and the ramifications. None of this was done on a whim, from Namjoon's ambassadorship and the possibilities of it, to Jimin and Jungkook's companion enlistment and why they chose that option, NONE OF IT WAS DONE WITHOUT CAREFUL CONSIDERATION. They had to apply MONTHS ago for the options they were allowed to choose. They are not the only men in Korea enlisting this year, there are tens of thousands of others.

No one is considering, IF Namjoon is in Seoul during his enlistment, he would have something in common with Tae. And Yoongi. And Jin will be discharged in June, Hobi will be discharged in October... the implications, the connections... their target is 2025. Nothing is a coincidence. They can't be working while enlisted, however reuniting briefly with friends over dinner and drinks is allowed... what they talk about during their get togethers is none of our business.

ALL THAT BEING SAID... Hybe did a tremendous job this past summer with the 10th anniversary Festa celebration, involving various municipality governments, procuring large corporate sponsors and communicating to news media in the almost month long series of events. They elevated the general public's awareness of BTS's impact and therefore instilled value and pride for their continued success.

No military commander would want anything to happen to the members while under their watch.

I really love all the stuff I've seen around the idea that MC's pact marks only naturally showing up when they're actively channeling their power, because the fluff potential of the brothers learning MC decided to get them tattooed so they'd always be visible is delicious, but given that I'm a little freak who loves heavy body mods, I propose a slight alteration for your consideration: scarification. (Which is exactly what it sounds like; it's the practice of removing skin tissue in a desired pattern to create a scar upon the wound healing. Tattooing's black sheep sibling, if you will, lol)

Imagine how conflicted they'd feel, learning that MC chose to get their pact marks literally carved into their body. Of course, there's an immediate visceral horror at the idea that you let someone hurt you on purpose (obviously, it was done in a controlled environment by a professional, but initially they struggle to see what difference that makes). But even as they stand there scolding you, they can't help the deep, primal satisfaction that's steadily growing in their chest. They are demons, after all. And the idea that you, their precious little human, wanted to be permanently marked as theirs? Wanted to seal your bonds with them in blood and lacerated flesh? They might need a second to sit down... As much as they hate the idea of you being hurt and in pain, the longer they look at the now healed scar (with each of them coming around to it at their own rate), the harder it is to deny just how appealing they find the gesture. I did it. I made an OC to be Leonora's GF. The shipper in me wouldn't let her get away with being a disaster lesbian without a GF. So here is the other disaster lesbian, Julie! Personality and background under the cut! (Be warned, I ramble)

So! Julie! She's a year older than Leo, making her 19 to our girl Nora's 18, and an artist

Julie cut off contact with her parents when she was 14 (they sucked), and two years later she found herself mutated, and since her roommate has a green keel-bellied lizard...she got stuck with bright blue-green scales and a pretty long tail

It sucked those first few months, obviously, but she was already kinda a hermit, and what's done is done, so she wanted to focus more on finding what her new normal looked like

Weirdly enough, very few mutants were content to live semi-normal lives, mutant communities were very.....combat focused. Even if Julie was interested in fighting, her tail would give her a massive learning curve, so.......no, that's not happening

So how will she contribute to the mutant community? Well, tattoos don't really stick around through the mutation, and getting tattoos the regular way doesn't really work well (fur and scales don't cooperate with tattoo guns, and that's before you take into consideration things like shedding), so she'll focus on bringing tattoos to the mutant community! Luckily her roommate (a biologist in college) took her mutation well and is happy to help figure out how to make that actually possible

Its not just tattoos, she learns how to do a wide variety of piercings and body mods, her only limit being actual surgery (she has a strong stomach but not that strong). She believes its important to give these options to mutants, its not mandatory, but if a mutant decides they want to have fun with their form, have control over how they look, then they see a future with their mutated body. Outside of her new career, Julie has found a love of parkour. It started out as something she did for convenience, since the rooftops are safer to travel on for mutants than the road is, but it turns out the species she was mutated from are super big on climbing, so when she's feeling particularly pent-up, scaling the nearest skyscraper is the ideal workout for her

I haven't quite worked out how Julie met Leo yet, but Leo's siblings weren't there for it. They had no idea about Julie for the first few weeks, and even after they found out their sister was seeing someone they still didn't meet her for a while after that. Leo hasn't really had many opportunities to have a life completely separate from her siblings, and she loves them, but Julie was a breath of fresh air. Aaaand Leo wanted to keep her GF to herself for as long as her nosy siblings would allow.

Julie is a pretty smart person on her own, she started one of the first "mutant" businesses, of course she's smart. And no matter how chill she is, she likes to stick to her schedules. But with Leo......that all kinda goes out the window. For both of them. Their braincells cancel each other out and suddenly they're staring at a livestream of a goldfish tank for three hours straight.

It has it's downsides, schedules fall to pieces after they start dating, everyone hates it, but it also gives them the rare opportunity to just...forget their responsibilities. And since neither of them do that ever, anyone who plans on interfering with it is gonna find waaaay too many ninjas in their house the next night

“Fractured rib,” Dr. What’s-His-Face said at her gasp of pain, while he gently palpated her sides. He’d introduced himself to her, but she didn’t care to commit his name to memory.

Scribbling something down on a legal pad, he addressed Jacob. “Normally I wouldn’t suggest bed rest for a fractured rib. But, with the other wounds and contusions, I think she spend two or three days in bed, minimum, maybe up to a week.”

Jacob nodded pensively, showing a level of interest Patience found surprising. “Does she need to wear a compression wrap?”

“No.” She doctor shook his head. “It could do more harm than good by restricting her breathing. She should ice her rib every few hours for the next couple days, as well as any of the more painful bruises. The wound should be cleaned, and its bandage should be changed daily,” he said, gesturing to the stab wound on her thigh. “Watch for any signs of infection, including fever. Practice standard care for the new tattoo.”

Jacob nodded along with every new instruction. “Should the pain become unmanageable or interfere with her sleep, give her one of these pills. Just don’t overdo it. They can be addicting.”

The doctor ripped the note from the pad and passed it to Jacob, along with a small bottle of pills. Aside from when he’d first introduced himself, he had ignored Patience the entire time she’d been in the infirmary. She’d never felt more like a pet at a veterinarian, and she’d actually been treated by a veterinarian before. She wasn’t sure if he just had a terrible bedside manner or if it was just because Jacob was there.

Folding the note and tucking it into his pocket, the Herald turned to Patience and asked, “Can you walk or do I need to carry you?”

She scoffed indignantly, despite the fact that walking was actually incredibly difficult and painful. She’d rather fall flat on her ass than let Jacob Seed carry her around. She only hoped that wherever she was to be kept was close by.

As she hobbled down the hall, she let Jacob help hold her upright, only because she had no other option. He slowed as they, finally, approached an isolated door down a long hall. Jacob let her fall onto the bed just inside as they spilled through the door. She worked to situate herself as painlessly as possible on the extra-long twin bed while Jacob closed the double-doors to the balcony, locking them with a key he deposited into his pocket.

“Can’t have you running off on me.”

Patience rolled her eyes and gestured up and down her bruised and broken body. “I don’t think I could.”

“Yeah, well you don’t have a good sense of self-preservation.”

“Good enough to know I should leave.”

He snorted out a laugh, but otherwise ignored her words. Pointing things out in the small space he told her, “Bathroom is through that door there, but there’s no tub. So, no showering until you’re off bedrest. Record player’s on the dresser and albums are in that cabinet over there. I’ll get some clothes brought up for you. I’ll have someone come up to bring you meals, refill your water, and clean your wounds. Try not to get up too often.”

Patience was surprised. “You’re actually letting me go on bed rest?”

“I take care of what’s mine.”

A wave of revulsion flowed through her at that, and she made no move to hide it. “I am not yours.”

“Well, if you’re not mine, you’re John’s. And I’d take care of what’s his, too.” He smiled cruelly.

“John is the one who did this to me,” she said stonily.

“Well, Johnny’s always played a little too rough with his toys. Something you might want to take into consideration.”

She continued to glare at him, but stayed silent.

After obsessing over whether the camera was straight enough, or were the lights too bright, whether the distance he was from the camera was good (obsessive perfectionist) he finally gave us the big news that his album is coming in MARCH!

Here are my preliminary notes and thoughts on the upcoming and very anticipated PJM1:

Track 1: shook and light-headed

Track 2: shook and drooling

Track 3: shook and finally taking a breath

Track 4: shook and uwu-ing

Track 5: shook and drooling again

Track 6: shook and picking myself up off the floor

Track 7: shook and sobbing because it’s the last song.

But of course, in my delulu mind there will be 13 tracks but let’s not get greedy...

Prediction: Jimin’s next live will have him building the LEGO BTS Dynamite set...

Back to the main event: Jimin talked about straightening his teeth again. The best option for him is probably the Invisalign that you can remove when necessary. I wonder if the process is something he can be doing while he’s enlisted. 

He laughed and said “what do we have to fight about?” when someone asked him if he and Tae still fight a lot. As he continued reading the comments he said “Marriage!... one day. I’m too busy right now to get married.” I don’t know if the comment was “marriage one day” or if “one day” was part of his own response. He spoke a little about Jin. It’s clear that Jimin looks up to Jin. 

It was so cute when he was making fun of himself being so shy when he was recording Vibe with Taeyang.

Losing track of what day it is, having to figure out Valentine’s day is almost here... same babe, same...

I know some people sort of made a big deal over his comments about this. First of all, Jimin, no one said anything about White Day... second of all, he said “it’s fun” ...isn’t that enough to show that he acknowledges them? You guys with the hardcore ideas that certain things MUST be considered in a certain way ... GET OUT OF YOUR CLOSED BOX! He acknowledged they are special days that are fun. Why isn’t that enough? 

Then he talks about showing us his moon tattoos and letting us know there will be an opportunity to do so...he’ll have a chance to show us. Because whipping off his shirt on a live would probably get him scolded worse than JK drinking while doing a live.

He also commented about Namjoon being “truly like a gift” in his songwriting skills.

Then mentions Suchwita...and gives us a spoiler:

Yoongi and Jimin drinking and talking about Jimin’s solo album... YES! PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN UNIVERSE! DON’T TEASE ME AND THEN LEAVE ME SHATTERED IF IT DOES NOT HAPPEN!

You know... occasionally a comment that seems odd could very well hold a considerable amount of meaning:

Tears from working himself to the bone because of his passion to give his best to us... tears because of how moved he was from seeing all of us while performing... tears because when you are filled with fear and insecurity and see the outpouring of love... tears from the words he sees being said about him online... he says if he has to find a reason as to why (he’s not as emotional any more) he says it’s like as time has gone on, he’s not seen us in person, that his emotions have subsided. He is removed from personal appearances but still the fact they’ve achieved a certain level of success enables him to feel secure in his position and they can see we, Army, are not going to leave them. He’s also removed himself from social media.

He can be so unserious too... clocked out... hahahahaha... and that’s 12:30 a.m., 1:00 a.m. 

When Unholy comes on he laughs, smirks, and he skips the song BECAUSE HE KNOWS ITS UNHOLY...(keeping it PG for Armys). We know Jimin was at work but now we know he continued watching JK’s live because he knows that Jungkook sung this.... okayyyyy. 

We also had the pleasure of listening to Jimin hum/sing along to The Astronaut, Rush Hour, That That, Better Than This by Lauv, Safe Zone, Yet to Come, Closer, Empty Road by Taeyang, Wildflower, Telepathy, Euphoria (which he admitted he loves and he let it play twice and then continued to sing it), Filter to which he commented that he was really bummed out when he never got to perform this for us live and that HE MAY ONE DAY DO THAT ASDAFWTFOMFG!!! 

Someone in comments said they needed Jimin to motivate them and that they hated themselves... those were serious words and Jimin paused to consider his response... he said “you should still know how to cherish and like yourself. I think it actually isn’t easy to accept this usually. I think you should know why you are thinking in that manner (you should figure out what is causing you to think that way) and I think I need to hear you out in order to say something to you (I need to know more about the situation in order to offer constructive advice). Even so, you only have yourself. I hope you don’t hate yourself too much.” Words from a man who has perhaps had his own dealings with this sort of thing.

He wrapped it up by saying he’ll talk about the making of PJM1 after it’s release for us to stay safe and stay well. 

The thought occurred to me: is it just me or has the number of times that the idea of the members dating increased exponentially these last few months? 

Namjoon flippantly(?) saying "kind of like a girlfriend for me" during Big Brain/Useless Knowledge TV Show. (What is the title of that show? I keep forgetting...)

Both Jimin and Jungkook teasing Armys who comment "let's date for a few seconds" while doing their live broadcasts. 

And the big rumor of Tae’s that I won’t mention because people are irrational and I don’t have time for that.

Jimin even said there’s more comments about marriage these days than ever before. Beyond “Marry Me Yoongi,” the topic of marriage just seems to pop up more frequently. 

Are they attempting to normalize Tannies dating? Just like they've normalized (sorta) showing more skin? and normalized their inevitable enlistment. Are they are making us take baby steps for everything?

   Burning amber eyes lay hidden beneath dark lashes as Hanma lays sprawled out comfortably on the worn couch. He isn’t asleep though. Hanma has a way of making people lower their guard, of making them not realizing just how alert and aware Hanma actually was between the bored expressions or obnoxious attitude. They also forget how smart he is. People were quick to write him off as Kisaki’s dog, and he was pretty good at playing obedient. But no one, not even Kisaki, had full control over what Hanma did. Kisaki was less of a handler and more someone Hanma chose and allowed to give orders.  

 Takemichi isn’t very subtle on the fact that he’s evidently pondering something with considerable weight. It’s kinda funny feeling him shift his weight and sigh every now and again. He’s more surprised Takemichi has actually taken time to consider anything at all. Normally he seems to just charge right in – or choose the dumbest option he can see. 

  “ You’re a dumbass either way. Just an especially big one when those times hit. Cocky shit too. “ Hanma laughs, his chest shaking with it as he grins. But when Takemichi looks up, Hanma’s eyes are opened wide enough to see amber slits, colored irises encompassing most of his eye as his pupils constrict with focus. He meets Takemichi’s eyes but he doesn’t laugh or otherwise deride the implication that Takemichi has made with his words. 

   Actually, he doesn’t seem to react to it much at all. He just raises an eyebrow slightly – less in a manner of skepticism and more in curiosity. “ Yeah? “ He lifts his head a moment to regard the bottle blonde before he shrugs and drops his head back down on the couch. “ I mean, that’s kind of the sort of shit that’s good to know. Y’know? “ He muses yet seems relatively undisturbed by this potential revelation.

This will most likely never be answered, but I thought I’d ask anyway. What is your concept of an ideal boyfriend? Because nowadays, boys are practically asking to be treated like doormats and it is the biggest turn off there is

I just finished anger crying about how much my boyfriend sucks at cleaning and is a pissy fucking baby when I ask him for the billionth time to pay a bit more attention to the housework he does because his sloppiness makes me have to redo everything he does so imma answer this: tidy. Neat. Give me a man that gives a fuck about his surroundings and doesn't leave the dishes greasy and dirty on the drying wreck because for him that's good enough. Give me a guy that respects the shared space we inhabit and closes cabinets after opening them and throws out the trash into the bin instead of leaving everything on the counter. One that wipes off the spilled food and crumbs off the table and doesn't embarrass me with how unattentive he is in front of my family. One that washes and folds his clothes so they don't smell like old sweat and uses fabric softener. One that can cook and clean up after himself because he's a full grown adult and doesn't expect me to take care of him like I'm his fucking mother. One that is resourceful and forward-thinking and one I can trust. Someone that eats all the food he got himself on his plate and doesn't waste food like a picky fucking child. One I can imagine as a good father and husband, a real man, not a kid.

I know this isn't really the answer you expected coming from a blog like me but if we are talking irl partners not fictional men we read and write smut about there's so much more to it than looks and bedroom action. Not that those aren't important, believe me, those matter a shitton; I'm just currently in a relationship I've been in over 3 years and these issues start popping out around this time when you want to take the bigger picture into consideration.

Buf I can give like a you know more shallow breakdown too of my ideal boyfriend, which isn't really a "boy". I feel like boyfriends are something you have in high-school, in your twenties, when it's still not that serious and you both are a bit more juvenile in your relationship, which isn't bad I just feel ready to evolve into a partnership. I generally am attracted to older men, 30 and above that have an air of maturity and wisdom but are still easy to talk to and are understanding and sensitive (and fucking tidy my GOD. but I'm not getting into that rant again). I like it when they smell good. A nice cologne or aftershave goes a long way; attraction is half pheromones. I like them tall, strong, not a proteinshake-head gymrat but with still decent muscles that looks after his health without being obsessed with it. I don't need washboard abs, I feel they're a bit overrated but nice shoulders and big pecs I drool over. I also like them decently hairy, with nice facial hair and good hair being crucial. I also have a guilty pleasure of curved noses, I just find aquiline noses to be very attractive. Tattoos aren't a taboo, they can be very nice decor but only if I don't cringe at the design. I like them in tight button ups and rolled up sleeves, and tasteful jewelry.

I like them polite, a bit old-fashioned, but not a misogynist, just one that brings flowers and opens doors and pays at the end of the date you know? Personally, I'm more dominant in bed, that's what I'm comfortable with if it's not vanilla, you know ride him into heaven and back with a hand on his throat or smack him around a bit, not too hard. Pull on his hair while he eats you out and praise him for it. I'm not really one for bondage, but I wouldn't say no to tying my man's hands to the headboard during sex. Having a nice rhythm during sex is also important; always start out deep and slow, no one wants a fucking heaving puppy dog rutting into you that finishes in two minutes flat. Round 2 should always be an option too, keep that stamina up. Aftercare is crucial. Even if you were max vanilla it's still nice to giggle and cuddle about it after and wash up together in comfortable intimacy.

Personal space is also very important. I have chronic insomnia due to anxiety and it's important for me to have a separate room and bed to sleep in. Unless I'm utterly exhausted and comfortable having my back rubbed I'm not likely to sleep in your bed even if we just had sex, and he should be fine with it. He shouldn't be clingy or possessive but holding hands and kissing in public should be natural.

Anyway that's all I could come up with on the spot but it's still quite a rant lol.
