#my friend got me hired at a receptionist position at the same business she works at #but they took like. 2 full weeks to call me?? and of course by then #one of the other receptionists picked up the hours leaving literally only day of work available a week #so forget that I guess #plus I turned down a DIFFERENT job that I had ACTUALLY already gotten (not just promised) for this reception gig #so im just entirely screwed over #i have literally only had one job ever and it was at a movie theater for 2 months when I was 17 #so my resume isnt really great either #so yeah. good times

#rambling #surprisingly this is not about jakob.. im just really consistent about my favorite character archetypes 😭😭#WARNING THE NOTES ON THIS ARE REALLY LONG I STARTED RAMBLING #“ouhh i have a headache i'll just lie down and rotate my blorbos in no general direction for a while until it goes away” and then boom.#serious plot considerations. 2 questions answered 24million new questions raised. this is specifically Not what i asked for.#so now im sitting here STILL dizzy running mental calculations on how i can get this bitch out of peril without reworking everything #but they literally keep dying in every timeline 😭😭 every single plausible road leads to them running off and screwing themself over #“character who doesn't realize they want to live until it's way too late to look back” VS #“character who is forced to live and handle the things they never though they'd survive long enough to deal with” FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.#fucking hell i have never had this much trouble writing a character as i have with them #they genuinely do just run off and do shit without my permission and then i have to pace for an hour or two wondering #“ok they wOULD do that. but should they. do i feel like i can confidently write that.”#im like constantly in this tug of war trying to get them to CHILL #but also they are absolutely my favorite character from the entire project. but like. all classpect interpretations are equally canon- and this is why:

sburb/sgrub/sname is many things, but the first of those things we see is a computer game. said game's source code can be found in carvings in the frog temple, which comes from a Reckoning meteor; so each sthing version's code comes specifically from itself!

and considering every session we've seen has had an unique frog temple (beta kids: 4 land spires; beta trolls: two separate temples with 6 land spires each; alpha kids: 8 land spires, alpha trolls: at least one temple (with 12 land spires??), possibly located on beforus' moon), there's no reason to assume each and every temple's carvings are exactly the same…

therefore, two swhatever instances can have drastically different classpect definitions because they're running different versions of the game! for example, my own mirrorbent's sgame was compiled in a way where i won't have to go into too many specifics from their own, separate, 12 land spires temple (as opposed to being widely distributed like the beta kids' sburb), and classwise features active knights and passive pages, to pick an example that was recentlyish polled about.

of course, this mini theory thingy would be most applicable to fanventures, while most classpecting theory revolves about homestuck proper for obvious reasons. luckily, i've got some Key Insights about the canon classpects, just beyond this readmore:

#thinking way too much abt it rn cus i just finished her quest today #she is important to liam and i enjoy their relationship a lot & also her character in general in the earlier acts #but MAN i hate what they did to her in acts 2 and 3 #laya plays dragon age #feels like there is such a disconnect from her attitude between acts 1 and 2?#or well. maybe not disconnect exactly but even so there is an important shift there and we never even get to see it OR question it #she could have been such a good contribution to the story and the themes by putting her at a crossroads of #do i keep following what i know and become another cog in the system or do i challenge them and break out of it #cus like. in act 1 she is not above going against laws when her own morals (or even just biases) go against them #but is generally still in favor of ''regular'' law and order (which does get challenged by characters sometimes which is nice!)#(sort of) blind loyalty is already a fault of hers and now her loyalty is understandably mostly towards her guards #but then her companion quest is not in fact about herself but about frickin. courting the guy she likes???????#full on i thought this was a silly quest for levity in an act that has a lot of dark moments #but no it is Her Important Quest TM and not only does she not get with him if you dont do the quest #but her entire attitude and happiness going forward depends on it????? what the hell #also fun fact first time playing act 2 i thought that there was a lot going over my head and like #and some of it did yeah but i also just Assumed that bc the way aveline acted/ the guards actions were presented through her #didnt line up with what actually happened #(& her being so defensive and dismissive didnt line up with the impression i got of her before that)#sorry for the rant im just once again mad about cool characters being screwed over by the writing

#my two least favorite exams are on the same day #and they end and start within an hour of each other #tbf nobody is expected to pass the second one because they screwed over the entire grade with that class #just one more week and then im done #one more week and i have nothing left to do for any of my classes #just the final project in english and i can get that done in a week #im so happy that i almost have nothing left to do and i get to chill out for the last few days

#sorry i hate the third season of channel zero always have and im speaking my truth now HJKDLSJHFKD #okay like. channel zero in general. the first season is like #i wouldnt say its good. honestly it started okay and kinda intriguing #and then got kinda bad. and then at one point it flipped back around and became camp to me #so i kinda like the first season but through no credit of itself HJKHJKDS #and as an adaptation i thought it was like too confusing for people unfamiliar with the creepypasta but too uninterested in the details #of said creepypasta to appeal to fans of it. but it was a bit camp. a little bit #the second season was fine. it wasnt perfect but i thought it held up decently as a story and as an adaptation #i never got around to watching the fourth season. i hear it was fine #but that third season was WRETCHED i remember it being rated well as a story but it was so like. disrespectful as an adaptation #(also it was too focused on gore and blood for me at the time. like i dont mind gore but it felt so like. meaningless?)#(and i wasnt sure about its depiction of mental health at the time but maybe my opinion would change nowadays it has been a while)#like you got the rights to such a weird and surreal concept and ignored it entirely....what on earth #no baby crying loop in the middle of the wilderness alone....no stairs that cut off your arm cleaning in the woods...NOTHING #literally so tragic. @ nosleep authors and other online horror writers PLEASE watch out when giving out adaptation rights #if i remember correctly the poor search and rescue author got screwed over by syfy which is so sad 😔#also please publish some kind of paperback version of ur stories for lil ol me. pretty please #basic print on demand is fine id just love to have more creepypasta and nosleep stuff on my bookshelf LOL #also still sad theres no left right game book. blease it would be so good published BLEASE

If you are at a tournament that doesn’t have preset precedence and recency, and you’re starting out the session, you then need to pick speakers at random. What does random mean? Random means you pick whoever stands up first. Not who you want, not someone from your school, if you need to pick from randomness, you need to pick whoever stands up first.

Do not hold grudges or try and screw over a specific speaker if you thought they did really well. I cannot stress this enough, if you pick randomly, you pick whoever stands up first

i think one of the worst feelings in the world is having uncertainty about your living situation it is literally so stressful and there's like... not much i can do right now...

#so k is still planning on moving and may be leaving the 16th of may. but doesn't know for sure. but apparently the apartment she wants says #she has to notify our apartment now that she will be leaving which means we both have to sign something that says she's leaving and i'm #taking responsibility for the lease.... and she doesn't know that she has it yet so she doesn't have someone to move in and take her spot.#i'm trying to get my friends to move in but idk if they will probably not. regardless if k leaves and we don't have anyone then i like #legally have to pay the full rent. i don't think she would leave me hanging like that but also i feel so uncomfortable betting my whole #financial situation on that because i would LITERALLY get evicted. like i cannot afford that under any circumstances. sooo.#and on top of that i'm still so scared that i'll end up with a roommate i don't like. ik that's like not even that big of an issue like i've #had that before and i'll survive but i don't want to have to deal with that like ik im being a baby but i just feel so scared about the #whole thing #like i kind of want to say no to signing the thing but that would screw kate over and definitely blow up our friendship but i really don't #feel like our friendship is in a place where i feel like i can trust her with like. my whole entire bank account and credit score. bc like.#that's what's at risk.#idk i'm gonna talk to her about it and just make sure that there's no other way and make sure that she promises to pay her part of the rent #until someone takes it over. and also probably talk to my parents and see if they're willing to bail me out if she DOES fuck me over... i'm #99.99999% sure she won't but. idkkkk my brain is just nagging me abt that one little chance...

I really. Should sit down and figure out what to do with Shilo in my Fourth World canon

#Shilo norman is the fourth world character most aggressively screwed over except for maybe forager #It's hard for me to get a hold on him and that's because no two takes on him have been remotely the same #And I dont want to default to mr miracle v1 canon like i normally do bc shilo's backstory in that REALLY didnt age well #I like the source of freedom's take on him best I think but it completely loses his connection to scott and also fuck n'vir free #That leaves like. Mr miracle v2's shilo. Which is just.#Well. Choices were made #There's a reason most ppl have ignoreed mr miracle v2's take on shilo's personality and backstory and just kept him becoming mr miracle #I think my biggest problem with Shilo is that what I find interesting about him is not at all a character angle canon wants to explore #Ie I like the idea of Shilo as a mortal among gods #What does it mean to pick up a mantle that's shared with/was previously held by a god?#I rlly liked the initial thing in mr miracle v2 where rhey made him create his own tech for the suit bc he didnt have a motherbox #To me that's FAR more fascinating as a concept than what they ultimately ended up going with re: motherbox accepting him #Which I always found badly executed anyway like I think it was a really bad move to try and draw direct parallels between shilo and scott #I'm sorry a teen runaway mom leaving her newborn kid at the doorstep of an orphanage is not a betrayal!! Tf did you want her to do!!!#Anyway. Moving on #And then the source of freedom did away with the godly aspect of the mister miracle legacy entirely #And I rlly do like how cutting out scott enabled the story to focus on thaddeus brown and issues of race #The source of freedom is a very good take on shilo but still #I cant help but feel dissappointed nobody has rlly seemed to see shilo the same way as me ie a man among gods #Idk I still havent read all shilo comics im missing some notable exceptions so maybe I'll find it yet #But this lack of interest in framing shilo the way I believe would be the most interesting rlly does make it hard for me #To figure out what to do with him in my canon #My posts #Shilo norman

neighbour!miguel walking through your apartment door, so happy to help you and spend even as much as a few more minutes around you. and it all feels so domestic and serene; seeing him in his home clothes, just a navy blue t-shirt and sweatpants, in your own private, intimate space.

neighbour!miguel not even asking for your help because he doesn't want you to lift a finger, or worse, get splinters stuck in your delicate fingers. frankly, he wants and likes to show off to you. he relishes in the opportunity to show you how strong he is, how he can effortlessly put everything in place. and sincerely, you do enjoy the show.

you enjoy seeing his arms flex when he lifts the entire underside of the ikea sofa so he could turn it around and continue with the instructions; yet his face shows zero struggle. no holding his breath, no pants of exhaustion. he knows exactly what he's doing, and he only needs to look over the pages a few times before he arranges the whole thing like he designed it.

neighbour!miguel secretly even taking longer than necessary to set the screws just to have you look at him with such admiration. maybe you might even begin to like him the way he likes you. he has no idea the only thing you wish you could do was to kiss him and let him put his arms around you, to reward him for how good he's been to you.

neighbour!miguel whose heart races as you gently kiss his cheek as he's working, gazing into his eyes with that look he knows all too well. but eventually you grow bolder, seeing no resistance from him; only satisfaction and a hint of sugar sweet surprise.

neighbour!miguel who can't help it but drop the screws and keys to grab you as you keep teasingly kissing him all over his face; one arm secured around your back, one around your middle, finally returning the kisses he had long coveted to give you.
