Actually, I guess all of Eight's AU's (besides him being an AU in himself) can be boiled down to who he is fighting for...

For Jadus - The one I write most about. shared a lot with his days in Intelligence as a Cipher Nine expy. starts out as him following Keeper and ImpInt solely until he smells the ship sinking and realizes he needs authority to fight against the eventual end. Doomed narrative scenario, he ends up as his Hand and roams the rest of the story this way. Main timeline for Eight. Explores the way they transcend both their stories.

For Lana - Can overlap with the HoJ timeline, or be the same one given that he ends up as her agent in the gap between Ziost to Zakuul no matter what; main difference is in whether he is the Outlander or not: in-game, this has already happened with mostly negative consequences and an immediate dissolution of a barebones Alliance. He joins Theron during the Traitor Arc for this reason.

For the Commander - partially overlapped with fighting for Lana, as he was the only available agent/Cipher she was able to keep and take with her from her stint as Minister of Intelligence. However, given their rocky relationship, he is much more interested in dedicating himself to the Outlander/Commander (any PC) in this timeline and Lana, knowing his temperament/skillset, deploys him to protect them in specific. (This one has my whole heart currently because he never had a good experience with the Alliance in his base game-- but if he found a Commander who he could believe in and follow to the ends of the earth, it'd have that chance to become a home).

For the Chiss - Current in-game timeline. Happens after his stint with Lana, as he is never the Commander in his story but given his history with an adopted Chiss mother/mentor from House Miurani, he returns to them temporarily for the events of Onslaught. Has a lot of history with Aristocra Saganu, who he acts out the orders of faithfully even if his pragmatic attitude is not usually what he seeks-- their House is simply the exception because of personal ties. This one is also semi-contained as it's mostly a temporary break for him with nowhere else to go. He will always be loyal to them, but he knows he is the kind of agent who can't stay for long.

We'll see how this pans out. It's also endlessly amusing to me that by association, it makes him unable to mistrust any merit adoptive by House Miurani, which includes quite a few Chiss agents on here. XD

Yes hello, Really enjoying the Monster Clover AU stuff so far but now a question burns in my noggin... What were Ceroba's and Martlet's first impressions/responses/reactions to when they saw Clovers new look?

So I said this in the tags of my last post, but then I went wacky and doodled up some pages of this other AU idea that stemmed from the idea of that comic I did

In this AU, Miles goes to Diego Armando’s office a few weeks after the Fawles trial. There is no cocky, arrogant, or smug air about him like there was during the trial and instead he seems really shaken and nervous. Diego’s like “hey what’s wrong?” And Miles is quiet but then says that he needs help. He tells Diego that he can’t get the image of Fawles’s suicide out of his head and that he has no one he can talk to about this. Diego asks about Miles’s mentor, but Miles says that there’s absolutely no way he could ever go to his mentor for help with emotional stuff because it would show “weakness” and he also isn’t comfortable with von Karma. To make a long story short (because I’ve thought so much about this), Miles ends up pleading with Diego to protect him from von Karma just in case he goes after him for switching sides to be a defense attorney. He knows that von Karma will see him as weak and a traitor for switching teams after a single case, but Miles can’t be someone he’s not. Diego points out that Miles seems to be trying to be who von Karma wanted him to be. So he asks Miles what he wants to be, and Miles responds by saying he wants to be his dad (just like in my 1985 animatic 😭).

So Miles decides to renounce prosecution. He rips off his cravat and throws it in the garbage in Diego’s office and declares that he’ll become a defense attorney. He also asks Diego is he could be his mentor to help him in both being better at defense law and also just being better with interacting with people.

He joins the Grossberg Law Offices and works alongside Mia and Diego to gather evidence on Dahlia Hawthorne, as he now too believes that she has done terrible things.

After Diego is poisoned, Miles freaks out because people just keep dying or getting hurt around him and it scares him. (Oh…baby boy just wait until Mia dies too-)

He takes the case to defend Phoenix, gets TERRIFIED when Phoenix eats the poison necklace, and then at the end, Phoenix was like “oh wow! You’re a defense attorney now?? Lmao when did that happen??” Bc he had been too busy simping over Dahlia. But Miles tells him that he should still pursue law so that they could work together and also so that Phoenix’s law classes and studying wouldn’t have gone to waste. So Phoenix becomes a lawyer and works with Miles and Mia at the Fey & Co Law Offices until she dies and then it becomes Edgeworth & Co Law Offices because he had been a lawyer for longer.

I like the idea that in this AU, Phoenix and Miles obviously have huge crushes on each other, but these idiots still refuse to acknowledge or admit it <3

Also :((( when Diego wakes up, he still goes on his whole antagonist arc as Godot, and Miles refuses to tell Phoenix the truth about who he is. See, I also like the idea that in this AU, Nick and Miles are still as cagey with their past and truths as they are in normal AA

To summarize! WW gets reincarnated in a very distant future where humanity is more settled down in the planet. He remembers everything and decides to keep living his life as normally as he is able to. That is until he meets his neighbor when he moved to a new apartment.

He was an absolute weirdo of a guy who looked just like Vash in so many ways yet was so different in many others at the same time.

He pretends that his system isn’t going haywire every time he is around the man, the one that resembles someone he cared for so deeply in a life that wasn’t his but remembers all too well. He decides to pretend he doesn’t know Vash because he really doesn’t, not this one at least.

Meanwhile, Vash is going through a very trippy existential crisis for seeing Wolfwood again after what felt like dozens of centuries. This could clearly not be him however because, well, he knows why. So he pretends not to know him because wouldn’t that be weird if he acted like he did?

They avoid each other like the plague, the beautiful and horrible emotions that swarmed on their insides too much to bear just by the presence of the other. They could slip at any moment so it was better to evade the neighbor.

The thing here is, that life has never gone how they want it since ever.

remembered this very old au concept i’ve had since i was tiny watching ninjago for the first time… it completely unravels everything i enjoy about zane in the early seasons and i refuse to think of the necessary rewrites atm but i needed to make at least this one scene exist. can an au be naught but a single panel that makes me Sad?
