What have you been up to? Ramble away about your current interests my friend 👉😎👉
uhhhhhhh well. in the years since consistent activity I have:
Started, Subscribed, and MSQ/Major sidequest Cleared FFXIV and it occupies my brain like a parasitic worm (but I love it) as goes most people who get into it it seems. For those wondering started with WHM and have run it through just about everything so I'm fairly confident I am at least Somewhat Competent in pretty much everything except Savage and Alexander raids (shudders in Eyes of the Creator if you know you know)
Not only that but have main 5 categories of battle class leveled- WHM for healer, PLD for tank, MNK for melee, DNC phys ranged, RDM caster
I should stop talking about FFXIV help
I think I've changed jobs??? still call center-based work boo been there two years and I Hate It Homie (but hey 16/hr without a degree is hard to beat)
my cringe ass ff.net is poised for deletion as I've got ebook back ups of everything I just can't commit yet (and might not have to since I hear. Gasping Dying rumors about ff.net being on last legs)
I've developed a hobby of making FEH wlw ships- Azura/Deirdre, Mathilda/Lilith, Nagi/Natasha, Felicia/Selena (sacred stones) to throw some out -and stubbornly want to write fic but can't seem to figure out how to finish it oops
also generally feel awkward posting on AO3 because I don't really agree with their "you can write fic of actual people" stance but also Where Else Post Fic but also jokes on me I can't finish fic anymore
speaking of I did contribute to a zine or two with the Invincible Zine group over on twitter a handful of Duo Unit scripts and a 5k one shot on the Horrors of Adrift Corrin
("Katie isn't that the "uwu" corrin alt that looks after baby azura what is possibly horrifying about that" you ask and to which I respond "eldritch horror of being a dream-based sentient clone made real babeyyyyyyyyyyyy" and I didn't even use all my concepts and ideas)
Genshin Impact made a character I finally was willing to eat the lore for Miss Shenhe I love you so much what a wlw icon I think I did reblog something of her earlier but yea love
Played through Persona 5 Royal was a good game but I have never seen a game Say So Much and Nothing At All at the same time while also contradicting itself (and somehow in 100+ hours of gameplay even on 2nd easiest difficulty and w/ a friend and a guide hello). Core cast is poggers tho love these high schoolers and I don't think anyone would be surprised to hear I love futaba the most
Have kinda accepted that I've fallen out of love with KH and frankly don't feel a lot of hype for 4. 3 was a solid gameplay entry with some neat use of worlds for the filler plot but the more time goes on the more disappointed I get with how it handled resolving anything from all the build up, shafting it in favor of setting up a game that doesn't even exist yet.
Because of this I REALLLLY loved Endwalker and was very happy to play it on release (oops back on XIV braincell)
I do miss RikuVen tho and think about how Re:Mind validated the hell out of me by confirming Riku hung out with the Wayfinders and to the lil guys out there making content big fucking salute I'm sorry I'm a bitter woman who couldn't handle expectations.
Have a wild ass idea about XIV/Fates crossover to give an excuse for Ysayle/Corrin to exist they are just about perfect together but can't quite figure out how to make a plot to justify it that I'm satisfied with
I made a quotes bot on twitter that may not last much longer but eh
Gotten really into The Oh Hellos not out of any christian love but moreso the lyrics are just (chef kiss)
TAZ Ethersea season one was. Okay? It started really strong but fell off like the shoreline which was. sad. I can hope season 2 learns better from the mistakes there but also can't be too mad improv-based storytelling is hard to 100% nail
is that everything? I think that's like everything. still me just now several years older and just a smidge wiser and man I'm gonna be 26 in like. a week.
oops.

Reading Batfam fics where Damian calls any of his brothers "Akhi" puts me off so much as an Arab because (in my dialect at least) that's the equivalent of calling someone "bro" or "dude" except less affectionate, and if you take it literally he's calling them My Brother which sounds just as off as it would in English. And to add a cherry on top –and I can't fault non Arabic speaking fic writers for this I just wanted to point it out– a form of address in Arabic (name/title/pet name/ nick name) is usually preceded by "Ya" which is very very difficult to explain the meaning of in English it would take like, several hundred words and I don't have that time, but it feels slightly weird to hear someone call someone else "Akhi" without it since that's what I'm so used to hearing.
Secondly and this is a VERY personal preference, but whenever I see it written down in English as "Akhi" my head automatically reads it as "Ak-hy" which is... not how it's pronounced. Because the tricky thing is that the word "أخي" is spelled with the letter "خ". Which... does not exist in the English language whatsoever. So it is substituted with "kh" as a sort of stand in despite those two letters not sounding remotely like the sound we're looking for. So idk it kinda looks wrong to my brain.
Anyway no hate if you do this or anything I just wanted to rant

I didn’t want to correct them on the post because 1. people don’t like being “um, actually”’d and it’d be especially rude to do to someone who didn’t expect for their tags to be screenshotted and put on the projector and 2. it sort of undermines the point of the post, that kh values “fake” relationships as much as “real” ones, but I think people should know that Roxas and Hayner Pence Olette DID know each other from the real world. Roxas watching them interact is what first sparked his curiosity of what it’s like to be a normal person living a normal life and having friends. When Axel and Roxas are looking for Xion, Pence shows up and helps them unconditionally (very significant, when your usual interactions are with people who have lost the will to do that and only know how to bargain). And then later, on the vacation day when Roxas goes to eat ice cream alone because that’s all he can think to do with his time, he runs into the trio, and they all introduce themselves and invite Roxas to play with them, and he learns even more about the world he’s missing out on.
So really it’s less “HPO hear about someone they were supposedly friends with in a digital world and go ‘sure alright’” and more “HPO hear about the kid who wore a shady black coat and snuck around and talked to them once for a short period before running off and watched them wistfully from the clock tower until one day he didn’t and they decide they’ll absolutely try to help him and be friends with him for real”. sort of like cinderella in that regard

How about Genderbent Destiny Trio
Technically first destiny trio art
Tumblr media
Explaination
Riku: I basically shorten the shirt to be more croptop and swimwear. I also wanted to look different from their other gender counterpart. Instead of pants I gave Riku a flowy skirt that is based off the pants, having a similar top. I also shortened the gloves as well as made them fingerless with a bow on the end.
My favorite part was the hair. I shortened the hair since a lot of KH girls have shorter hair. It still has the same look and vibe but a cuter and shorter look. Most KH or SE girls in general have accessories so I took reference to other girls such as Aerith Gainsborough and Skuld by adding bracelets and more. I also added my own spin by having two hair pins.
Sora: For Sora, I wanted the hair to be a bit longer even though girls usually have shorter hair. Since the male counterpart already has short hair I decided to make it longer. I added more so it's messy but longer spiky hair. The accessories are all from various female SE characters in general. I added my own KH spin to them.
Instead of just being red, I decided a pinkish Red would fit better. I still kept some blue but I made it much lighter. The swim jumper is still a jumper it just has a skirt now instead which is heavily inspired by Skuld's own skirt. His shoes are long boots inspired but Elrena's boots, and he of course still have the clown shoes look but it's not shown.
Kairi: Now for Kairi it was more of taking stuff away. I took away all the accessories except for the necklace because it's a vital part of Kari's character. That is how Aqua is able to identify who Kairi is. I made the hair longer since males tend to have a bit more longer hair while still keeping the initial style of Kari's hair.
Kari's shirt is more of a regular tank top. I made the shirt less oval looking. I then added gloves that are similar to male Riku's gloves. I then changed the skirt to shorts instead with the same initial look.
Finally the background I had destiny Islands with the famous tree they always go on.

New Aqua stickers soon and more!
Firstly, thank you for giving so much love to the new sticker set I'm working into.
As I said, the new Aqua stickers will be available in March. I will make an official post in all my socials the day of release. And this will be very soon (probably on March 8th).
Also, this set won't come alone. This year, we have decided to focus more into FF and KH inspired jewelry, and we are going to start releasing our creations from March (and along the whole year). My partner and I are really hype with this chance. If you are following me on IG and Twitter, you probably know this.
Here is the official list of characters we are going to include this year, and hopefully make a more or less permanent stock in the sh0p along with the stickers and prints!
Tumblr media
Some of them are still in project since I'm searching for the perfect materials, but they will be available at any point of the year. And, of course, this list is not closed and open to suggestions!!
That's all for now. Meanwhile, I'll keep working in my illustrations, as per usual.

COLLEGE BAND AU HEADCANONS
Legato x gn reader
It was pretty rude of me to just randomly put an au fic without explanation so heres the explanation bye still self indulgent; always will be i fear
Tumblr media
more utc
- OK FIRST ABOUT HIM. He works for knives still but in this au his job is to cause vash suffering by 😭😭… outselling him??? Ridonkulous ik but go with it
- Knives wants him to outsell vash so vash realizes that art and human creativity is obsolete and instead help him run his tech/AI company that also focuses on helping global warming (humans suck they should die. robots go!)
- Hes apart of a band to rival Vash’s and ofc its the Gung Ho Guns; he hired them to play for him
- Tbh i think their genre isnt set in stone bc theyre purely doing this to outsell vash so I think theyd keep the core of it rock or indie but it has a lot of shifting gears, doing wtv gets the most traction
- Legato is the bassist but he knows keyboard if their keyboardist is absent
- I think legato writes most of the songs himself (to impress knives ofc this is still HIS mission afterall) and gets a lil sad and defensive if it flops LMFAO even if its just his first album; considering how Knives talked down on music Legato thought it’d be somewhat easy
- It DEFINITELY took him a while to write things that had some semblance of humanity in it tbh he had to have either another less emotionally stunted member write it or a ghost writer but he did still practice writing in his spare time since he had nothing better to do
- NOW ABOUT YALL. Ur roommates in a college dorm; if it were up to him he’d have an apartment but knives wanted him to keep an eye on vash and vash lives on campus
- He only has like one or two official rules as roommates but if ur pissing him off with sth thats not on the list he WILL let u lnow LOL
- The only rules established off rip are:
1. MYOB
2. Do not touch him (no tolerance rule if u touch him without permission he WILL be out of there asap even if its a lot of trouble and will probably even idk push u or sth ignore u forever, hope and pray on ur downfall idk its hard to translate his violent tendencies to modern society without getting him arrested ok)
- You often eat together when he isnt busy tbh usually in silence but its ok its comfortable silence (to him at least)
- Ok im gonna try to say this in the least creepy way possible but like. He likes to observe you for inspiration HEAR ME OUT. Just seeing u go about ur day and since hes always in first person POV seeing someone else just… live gives him immense inspiration on what to write
- He also gets inspo from other artists and heres where u come in hehe. You are a solo artist who doesn’t show your face and your speaking voice is pretty much completely different from ur singing voice (Not like insanely different but if you heard the two separately you wouldnt really connect the dots unless ur one of those people who connect voices easily + depending on ur genre u could be using a completely different tone of voice than usual)
- Your genre is a little similar to Legato’s in the fact that although you keep your core component (Love theme IMO but hey i dont make the rules yes i doo) you change around the other moving parts such as the instruments or wtv so he listens to your music often though he never really thought it would be you; just never really thought about the possibility
- Im not gonna say hes like obsessed with your artist persona or anything but he does (as much as he would rather khs than admit it since according to Knives music is the bane of this world) greatly enjoy your music and often finds himself getting your songs stuck in his head
- Hes def a gatekeeper i mean this is the guy who can name every song in ur discography (Not saying much though since you dont post too often)
- ANYWAY u have no idea this is going on since hes prone to just listening to music in his headphones rather than showing you or blasting it for the world to hear so ur relationship is developing as normal roommates
- You often get him stuff from the college snack shack and in return he often gives u whatever he doesnt want from the dining hall (that sounds crappy but its usually good stuff like ur fave fruit or cheese and crackers or sth)
- After u become a bit closer going on trips together becomes common not like vacation but like a little drive to a department store or him taking you with him to practice/performances
- SPEAKING OF PRACTICE U work part time at a coffee shop and it has a practice room which is where he usually brings his band it sounds random but I’ve encountered a coffee place like this before ok
- Killing two birds with one stone, he gets to see you on his way in and out and he gets a quiet place to practice + Vash often brings his band here too so ig killing two birds and one afterthought with one stone
- Other GHGs (NOT greenhouse gasses. Gung ho guns) think that ur another one of his groupies probably 💀 he def has tons i fear
- He def writes songs about you or rather than about you, references how u make him feel but he is in denial and thinks feelings are embarrassing so hes just like no they just gave me inspiration
- Its ok though the only one he has to justify himself to is himself bc hes like. The only one who knows its about u since his songs are never rlly about romance and in the rare cases that they are its very subtle
- When, if ever, he feels ready for touch he frames it like hes doing u a favor lmao “I will allow you to (blank)” he is tbh
Random Misc:
- Hes majoring in Ecology or Conservation Biology prob minoring in sth like computer science (his entire life surrounds Knives what did u expect)
- Sleeps in his daytime clothes and ur always like ???? Esp bc he wears jeans often… U two went to the department store one time and u convinced him to let u buy him pajamas so he could wash the day clothes overnight
- Hes a big ass fan of vinyls and cds and just physical ways of owning things like music or games but wont admit to himself he likes it its just for the aesthetic ok even though he has a record and cd player
- Wants to cut ur hair and feels like its one of the most intimate things u could do without having to touch too much (forever subscribed to knives cut his hair hc)
- If u have a lot of accessories and generally just a lot of stuff he gets annoyed if it isnt properly organized and will organize it for u wnv hes having writers block
- If ur an artist he has u make his merch designs n stuff 😍😍 he pays very generously he rlly dgaf abt money tbh + Knives sponsoring him
A/N: irrelevant but idk whether to imagine him as tristamp or trigun design like both are so good but Ok im done yapping ty

On My Heart: 💓: is it part of a series or standalone?
Fallen Stars: 💙: how has the idea changed between starting it and where it is now?
KH folktale: 💟: how is your style different in this work?
(For this)
💓: is it part of a series or standalone?
Standalone! I don't do series very often, haha; in this case, while there's probably room for a series, I kind of wanted to keep things contained to a single story. So...hopefully it'll remain that way, haha!
💙: how has the idea changed between starting it and where it is now?
Oh, man. It's changed a lot from the original plans I had for it. Like--the very, very first iteration was back before Missing-Link was announced, and this was supposed to be a short, Brain-centric fic about learning how to live with his grief in a very different time and place. The first idea that could truly be considered proto-Fallen Stars was also supposed to be relatively short, despite the sound of the premise--basically, the plan was that it would follow Brain and Skuld's entire life in Scala ad Caelum (kind of following the idea that like...your trauma sticks with you, sometimes, and you may not always heal completely, but you can still be happy), with more...snapshots of what happened to them, rather than the monster it ended up growing into, haha. That got shelved for a little while because I started writing the first chapter and realized, "Oh, no...there's plot here." And then I made that Tumblr post and it got revived, aha.
As for how it's changed since I actually, officially started on current-Fallen Stars...uh. Well, it was supposed to be a lot shorter. I think my original outline had it in the mid-twenties, chapter-wise? That didn't pan out, obviously, haha. Other than that, the big points have remained basically the same (I've done too much foreshadowing, man, I need those to pay off), but the details have occasionally changed. For example, originally I wasn't going to reveal that Luxu was the narrator until the very end (with basically just a throw-away "As if" in the narration, haha), but it got moved up for...plot reasons that may become more apparent in the coming chapters.
KH folktale: 💟: how is your style different in this work?
This is a much less traditional story than most of my stuff, haha, so it ends up being quite a bit different! Normally, I have very character-driven based narratives that's primarily written in prose. This is...you know those literature textbooks that have compilations of stories, but also introductions to and backgrounds for them? This is like that, but the introductions/backgrounds are also telling the story of the narrator...basically trying to track down and put together all of these stories, which were kind of lost to time, since the Keyblade wielders kind of, uh...don't exist anymore in this time period. (This takes place far into the future, aha.)
The stories themselves all come from different eras, so I want to all feel very distinct. That means they'll probably all have pretty unique styles for how they're written; Daybreak Town (and pre-Daybreak Town) era-stuff will be pretty similar to some of the folktales/legends/etc. I've done for Dandelion Seeds, and the very early Scala days I know is very song-based, but I'm still working out styles for the others. So, uh...it's going to be a lot different from what I usually do, but also a fun challenge!

Me again, a follow up question. While I know it's pretty much impossible to have a perfect transposition from greek to latin alphabet, I'm trying to have at least some kind of ruling. This said, would you transpose κ as a english "K" (harsh sound) or "c" sweet sound. Ex, Αλκιμεδων is Alkimedon or Alcimedon or whatever? Thank you
That's a great question. The truth is that the transliteration of Greek to Latin characters is terrible because even though the closest letters are chosen, these letters often have different sounds between the two alphabets. The problem is aggravated by the fact that English especially took a lot of Greek words via their Latin version and not directly and by the reliance on the popular Erasmian pronunciation which is questionable on so many levels (and ugly), to say the least.
Grasping the opportunity provided by your example, there is not a soft c in Greek at all. Never has been. The closest one by sound is σ (σίγμα) which is the equivalent of s. There is only κ (kappa) which is a harsh k. The frequent usage of c in words of Greek origin probably only means that these words have made a passing through the Latin language first.
But not just that, d is considered the equivalent of δ but the latter hasn't been pronounced as d for a couple millenias and even when it did, it was still softer than the modern d of the latin alphabet languages.
So the correct way to transliterate Αλκιμέδων to the Latin alphabet is actually Alkiméthon. The problem here is that Greek has two entirely different letters for the two ¨th¨ sounds, whereas English doesn´t. Some transliterate δ as ¨dh¨, as a solution of sorts. This would turn it into ¨Alkimédhon¨.
But because there are so many problems, there are no established rules. I believe the transliteration that should prevail now is the one that follows as accurately as possible the living pronunciation. Pre-hellenistic pronunciations are just theories after all.
So how I would transliterate is:
β as v (not b)
γ as gh (not g) before the consonants and the vowels α, ο, ω, ου and as y before the vowels ε, αι, η, ι, ει, οι, υι
δ as th or dh (not d)
η, ι, υ, ει, οι all as i
θ as th
κ as k
ξ as x or ks (not gz)
σ, ς as s or even as ss in the middle of a word because it is a little more “snaky” than the English s
φ as f or ph
χ as h or kh. Maybe that's how it should be written even before another consonant (i.e χρόνος - hrónos or khrónos as the more popular ¨chronos¨ is often mispronounced as kronos)
ψ as ps, but remember that both consonants are voiced unlike in English where the p is silent.
ω as o
αι as e since this has been the pronunciation for so long
ου as u or ou although I visually don't like the latter. Some use the oo which is not all that wrong but it looks utterly horrendous.
γγ, γκ as ng in the middle of the word, as g in the beginning or if it appears more than once in the word.
μπ as mb in the middle of the word, as b in the beginning or if it appears more than once in the word.
ντ as nd in the middle of the word, as d in the beginning or if it appears more than once in the word.
τζ as tz and not j, as it is a thinner sound.
τσ as ts and not ch, as it is a thinner sound.
This is more or less the transliteration that lately is used for Modern Greek. Those chaotic differences are the reason a Greek woman might tell somebody her name is Thanái and they won't realise she's telling them her name is Danae. XD
Now even though this is more correct I acknoweldge that visually the inaccurate transliteration is often more aesthetically pleasing or maybe it's because we are used to it. Take as example the verb for "skin, peel" :
γδέρνω is gderno in the usual transliteration but it is ghthérno in the more accurate one. The funny thing is that ghthérno looks terribly ugly but it sounds far more delicate and pretty when spoken than the inaccurate but better looking gderno XD
It's a mess what can I say. I have sometimes received some mild criticism for retaining the latin version of Greek words i.e I write Ευρυδίκη as Eurydice instead of the more accurate Evrithiki. Just for visual aesthetics. Honestly Evrithíki sounds nice when you say it but it looks so ugly in latin characters ffs I am so sad about this XD.
The latest example is that I wrote "Andronicus Palaeologus" even though I should have written "Anthronikos Paleologhos". And yet I believe that the latter sounds better than the former. Still, even if it's visually better, Idk, I think we should opt for accuracy especially in more "official", serious circumstances. Unless it looks much uglier and pronunciation doesn't matter in a certain situation so in this case we can show some understanding :P
Alkimethon though looks fairly good IMO

I fear that it's inevitable, you'll be tortured with Asks at least until I'm done with ks 🤷‍♀️
I haven't even started Gaara's chapter. Ngl I'm a little terrified by how slowly I'm reading through the kizunaverse (I usually inhale what I read. I once read 865k in three days, and then did it again in four days after a few months (it was crimson rivers. and I had absolutely no life outside of that during that long weekend. #worth it) but I'm savouring every single bit of each chapter and I'm trying to stretch it out for as long as humanly possible lmao
The forehead kiss. The FOREHEAD KISS. Naruto, the man that you are.
It's like, when I see how tenderly and carefully he handles Sasuke my heart just melts into a puddle of longing. He loves him so much it's no less than what Sas deserves I will combust
Besides that, I think one of the coolest things about ks is that it becomes clear that Sasuke can often be an unreliable narrator, especially when he's trying to read how other people see him (Gaara being the prime example).
And while of course kh isn't the first thing I've read that has an unreliable third-person narrator, exactly because of the sequel and the spot on characterization (won't ever catch me not complimenting that), it's the first time I can see it so clearly, in a way that feels natural and gives a more well-rounded understanding of the story and each participant
(I won't even try lmao. You'll probably get more of these when I'm done with my responsibilities for the day and can rot in my bed)
unreliable narration is so important to literature told through a character's pov. you can't really write over-the-shoulder third person without it, otherwise you create a character who's omniscient and then you're no longer over-the-shoulder. every human being alive experiences life with their own unreliable narration dictating their version of reality, so if you want to write realistically you have to understand where a character's personality would affect their perspective of the story. sasuke does a lot of judging of other characters, and while he is pretty good at it, he's definitely not perfect. he's also very stubborn and will deny his reality if he gets too flustered by it. kizuna shiten was a great exercise for me to practice that aspect of writing. the specific way each character is unreliable is what gives each chapter tone of voice, making them distinctly different.
someone like kakashi will view other characters like they're all on their last leg with him, someone like orochimaru will view every interaction like it's juicy drama, someone like iruka will view everyone like someone who needs help and guidance. kurama is annoyed by everyone lol. ect. i really enjoyed finding everyone's tone of voice.
fun fact, Naruto's voice was the hardest for me. which makes sense, because he's always the perfect opposite to sasuke, whose voice comes the most naturally to me.

i've always kind of meant to fic rec more and even when sometimes I can post a fic i'm reading on here I always feel bad I don't do it more often. The ao3 share option always feels hard to read and you always wanna edit the summaries to expand on what you as a reader found compelling instead of what the author thought to put... anyway, tonight i finally mustered myself and ignored everything I usually do at night to spend (checks watch) 2.5 hours putting this list together and fighting tumblr formatting. They're in no particular order, and every single author you should check out their other fics; a lot of them have updated other things since I read these in my AO3 history. If you've never read fics for fandoms you're not in: this is the list to pic one from and just go. Crossovers may be posted in multiple sections, just in case. This is just a list of fics that, when I found them in my history I said, "I remember this one! It was so good!" and a lot of them are ones that, every time they show up in my inbox, I drop everything to read (or I stow them away for the upcoming three hours I desperately will need them). Because of that, a lot of them are fucked up, so check warnings once you get on the page. But like. I think they're fucked up in a delightful little way.
Also a lot of them are long. SUPER long. You all did this for free. Do you know how much I owe you for nightshifts alone, much less long trips and difficult, depressed days that I just had to get to tomorrow and a long fanfic gave me somewhere else to be?
Please give them some love.
___
TWEWY/KH
∞:∞ ((to infinity and beyond)) - Divisionten
Post KH3, spoilers ahoy. He got off the pavement, wet, dirty and alone. They left the beach, ready to chase him down. She gripped her Keyblade, twisting it tight enough in her hands to leave marks. It was time to go home. ((Sora and Riku arrive in Shibuya after KH3 just in time to be mistaken for cosplayers. Extremely good Neku))
Marvel
From the Top - garamonder
Miles let go. Peter B. Parker closed his eyes as he dropped back through the rift, heading home. It would have been nice if he’d ended up there. Instead, the veteran hero makes an unintended pit stop in another Peter's universe - one where he's an Avenger, of all things. (Takes place in the MCU, post-hypothetical-Avengers 4)
Weight the Dice - tuesday
Tony's aim was off the first few tries. It was an imprecise art, time travel by magic rather than science, for all that it could actually change things instead of branching the timeline. He wanted early enough he could still make a difference, but not so early he had to go through puberty again. ((the only fic on this list under 5k, youre welcome))
LOTR???
Less Wise and More Dangerous - DeepWatersWaiting
Fleeing the Balrog and Orcs in Moria, Legolas Greenleaf is shot down with an arrow. He dies upon the bridge, unaware of the fates of his Fellowship, and wakes up moments later with the intention of finding his mother, escaping the Halls of Mandos and re-joining the War of the Ring. This would be a lot easier if he was actually in the Halls of Mandos however, instead of at Losgar as the Noldor arrive in Beleriand from Valinor for the first time.  ((i don’t know who any of these people are besides legolas i’m just having a good time and think this one needs more eyes))
Legend of Zelda: One Link
Third Eye - StudioRat
In which we climb the dark tower into the dawn. ((Link wants a third option. Ocarina of Time climax.))
Navigator [Act One] - SaltySaph
A Ganondorf/Link Slowburn Adventure narrative, first of three Acts. It is not based on, or connected to, any of the games in the franchise; but instead a largely invented piece using the Zelda formula and tropes as a base. This is not an Enemies to Lovers piece, because even though they are enemies in the games? They never have any personal or direct enmity toward one another.
The Inevitable - Phlyarologist
A hero falls. A hero rises. Repeat as necessary. Ravio gets an unpleasant lesson in the cost of legends. ((the only good take on heroic deaths))
The Legend of Zelda: Ten Thousand Year Elegy - winklepickers
Months after Calamity Ganon's defeat at the hands of the Princess and the Master Sword's chosen hero, Hyrule is approaching something resembling peace. That is, until Link and Zelda go missing following a disastrous archaeological expedition. Meanwhile, in Domino City, Japan: a dimensional domain emulator belonging to one Kaiba Seto abruptly self-destructs, causing an explosion that catches Mutou Yuugi and his friends in the crossfire. Unexpected? Yes. Unforeseen? Maybe not.
Legend of Zelda: Multiple Links
Please Don't Come for Me - sister_dear
Hyrule gets chucked headfirst through a mysterious portal. He feels the magic of fairies nearby and transforms, intending to ask them for help. Unfortunately for him, Time also found the fountain, and he has something of an effect on fairies. A “Hyrule meets the chain” story where Hyrule encounters each of his new companions in fairy form first.
Language Barriers - Kastaborous
The group made their way over to the two Hylians, where the individual they had rushed to save was conversing with the newcomer. The newcomer was heavily scarred on his left side, and from the bow on his back, he was the archer who had brought down many of the monsters. “Hello,” Time said, as he nodded to them. “Could you point us toward Castle Town?” The scarred man blinked. “Nanda?” … The Heroes of Courage are spread across ages. Hundreds to thousands of years between them. It should come as no surprise that they are having some trouble communicating. But when they’re dropped in a world of alien technology and a language wholly unfamiliar, they really wish Hylia had thought ahead. Or, the gang-meets-wild fic in which there is an appropriate amount of linguistic drift between Links, Hylia does not provide Google Translate, and Wild is a linguaphile among other things.
To Isolate - Poltea, sky_squido
Sky has only just figured out that Ganon is the manifestation of Demise's curse when he starts noticing... something working its way up the chain. Nobody is okay, Sky least of all, but he’s determined to figure out what’s going on or die trying. He has no idea what he’s getting himself into. This is a story of pain, fear, loss, and somehow, despite it all, courage.
Yu Gi Oh
((Basically All Crossovers & Literally The Best Section Of This Whole List u just gotta trust me))
The Power Of Friendship (And This Gun I Found!) - GallusRostromegalus
Honestly, Mokuba deserves to have a gun. And everyone else deserves to go absolutely Off The Fucking Rails. YuGiOh, but they're all appropriately feral little gremlins. Kind of a Reconciliation of the 4Kids Dub and the Horror-Comedy Manga, but mostly me wildly overthinking the setting and deciding to lean into the weirdness.
Shed Some of This Black Light to Surrounding Towns - arinrowan
What Yuugi wants is simple. He wants Izuku to get into Yuuei with him. He wants the rocket engines designed for KaibaCorp to work. He wants to launch his emotions about his father’s family into hyperbolic orbit. Unfortunately, Yuugi and his friends find themselves in the middle of a plot to manipulate the course of history that leaves him struggling to answer two very not simple questions. What does it cost to build the future? And who decides who pays?
The Legend of Zelda: Ten Thousand Year Elegy - winklepickers
Months after Calamity Ganon's defeat at the hands of the Princess and the Master Sword's chosen hero, Hyrule is approaching something resembling peace. That is, until Link and Zelda go missing following a disastrous archaeological expedition. Meanwhile, in Domino City, Japan: a dimensional domain emulator belonging to one Kaiba Seto abruptly self-destructs, causing an explosion that catches Mutou Yuugi and his friends in the crossfire. Unexpected? Yes. Unforeseen? Maybe not.
ATLA
While Mighty Oaks Do Fall - WitchofEndor
High Sage Kenji blesses Fire Prince Zuko with the resilience of the reed, who bends in the wind and never breaks. When he is done, Fire Prince Ozai narrows his eyes, seemingly displeased by this blessing. But Kenji does not speak for himself; he is only a vessel.  The newly-crowned Fire Lord Ozai offers his firstborn son to service in the temple. This turns out to be a catastrophic mistake.
Boomerangs and Rainbows - mindbending
At Sokka’s behest, the Gaang skips rescuing Zuko during the Siege at the North Pole. Instead they leave him, unconscious, buried in the snow. In completely unrelated news, Sokka’s haunted by a ghost now.
Mountains and Badgermolehills - Glass_Onion
After the Blue Spirit frees the Avatar from the Pohuai Stronghold, Admiral Zhao captures Prince Zuko under suspicion of treason. Isolated from his Uncle and his crew, Zuko has only one ally: the chatty prisoner one cell over.
BNHA
You Ever Sabotage A Wedding? No?...Would You Like To? - All_five_pieces_of_Exodia
Izuku gets invited to Kacchan's wedding as the "Worst man". He thinks it's a joke. Or My story based off a post I saw on Tumblr: > Hot wedding idea, the worst man, it's his duty to try to prevent the wedding at all costs. > The best man and worst man engage in Spy Vs Spy shenanigans until the wedding is done.
That time I got reincarnated as a doomed side character - Gentrychild
Izuku wakes up in the recent light novel he read called “ My Hero Academia.” Unfortunately, he’s in the body of Midoriya Izuku, a minor character killed off early in the manga to motivate the main character Katsuki Bakugo on his Hero’s Journey. Izuku decides he’s going to do whatever it takes to stay alive in this stupidly deadly Isekai. Unfortunately, Izuku isn't aware that in the last novel of the series where the minor character who died is revealed as the main villain’s son All for One has relived his son’s death multiple times, unable to change the outcomes. But something has changed this time.
Locked In Digital - RogueDruid (Icarius51)
A day goes bad to worse for 14 year old Izuku Midoriya, as he wakes up trapped in a computer simulation with nine different Horror games. The only objective given by the madman who locked him in? Beat all nine games, or be deleted. A year later, a very different Izuku shows up at the Gates of UA to take the entrance exam What horrors has he faced?
Ill-Gotten Gains - ghostmaybite
When his father and Tomura start planning the USJ attack, Izuku makes a plan of his own. It’s simple, only four steps: 1. Steal Eraserhead’s quirk 2. Use it to kill All for One 3. Give Erasure back, hopefully 4. Go to jail, probably He’s prepared for the plan to fail at any time, but surprisingly, it’s not until step 4 that things fall through.
Shed Some of This Black Light to Surrounding Towns - arinrowan
What Yuugi wants is simple. He wants Izuku to get into Yuuei with him. He wants the rocket engines designed for KaibaCorp to work. Requested by a friend
Hermod - Stress
Three more assignments, one more day to finish reading the book he borrowed, three more days to return the two from the library, six hours before he should be back in his room for the night, half an hour before they all went to grab food together, one more week before his favorite pen would officially be out of ink and would work even less than it did now, and he should really return Eraqus’ backpack -now- before he leaves it in his room and forgets about it and…
Hermod ran a hand through his hair and settled on the edge of his bed. For a moment, the wistful thought of tossing his satchel straight on the ground crossed his mind, before it was quickly pushed away. It slid effortlessly off his shoulder as he stood and moved to hang it on the back of his chair. Eraqus’ bag, which the owner had forgotten after class when he ran out of the room with Bragi, was set gently on his desk. It just always seemed like he had so much to do…even when he finished everything in a timely manner.
The assignments in particular were purely extracurricular, something that he had enough interest in to approach Master Odin and offer to investigate on his own. They were simple and written, but would still take him some time to finish. Two books that he had borrowed from the city library were due to be returned soon…but he still needed them as references and to fact check what he would submit. One book he borrowed from Odin himself was supposed to be returned even sooner, and he was barely three quarters of the way through it.
And that was saying nothing of the great lengths he took earlier in class to prevent his friends from getting themselves into trouble during one of the Master’s lectures. A soft, exhausted sigh escaped his lips and he placed his hands on the desk in front of him and leaned forward to look out the window. Scala’s brilliant warm light shone into his neatly kept room, something he would usually enjoy if his mind wasn’t racing. He really should open the window. The fresh air would be good for him. He leaned just a fraction more forward, reaching out to unlatch the window, when his chest bumped into something that wasn’t usually there. Right…the backpack.
Returning that really should have been his first priority. It took him no time at all to pick up the errant bag and swing it over his shoulder, crossing the room quickly. He opened the door perhaps too swiftly, though, judging by the startled look of a very surprised Eraqus currently holding his hand up to knock on the door.
“Hey!” he started sheepishly, “We wanted to go get some food a little early, and Vor said she knows a really great place.”
The look of absolute sincerity from Eraqus was enough to drive some of the stress from his shoulders, and he smiled back at his friend. Rolling the other boy’s belonging off of his shoulder, he held it out like a makeshift peace offering.
“Yeah, I’d think that’d be great.”

Yet Another Kingdom Hearts Revisit, Part V
This playthrough has been a blow to my pretensions of having a good memory. I'd completely forgotten that King Triton isn't the only good Disney character from outside Disney Castle who knows something about Keyblades and Keyholes. It makes perfect sense for the Genie to have some insight into them, but I really like that he knows less than Triton does. It's better for pacing reasons that he doesn't, but it also fits his character - I can't imagine that a magical being who spends so much time contemplating mid-20th century American pop culture while stuck in his lamp would keep his ancient legends straight.
Of all the Disney worlds in the series that try to condense their source films into the game, KH I's Agrabah is the most successful IMO. It's really the only level in the game that did so. Olympus Coliseum, Halloweentown, Monstro, and Neverland feature original stories, and Wonderland, Deep Jungle, and Atlantica use only pieces of their films (to greater and lesser degrees) in their stories. Agrabah has almost all the major elements of Aladdin in it: Aladdin's street rat origins, Jasmine's escape from the palace (albeit under entirely different circumstances) and her love affair with Aladdin, Jafar's scheming to take over Agrabah, the quest for the lamp in the Cave of Wonders, Genie's comedy, his freedom, and the three wishes. Even "Prince Ali" gets worked in. The only thing left out from the film is the finale where Aladdin and Jasmine get together.
Why it works here compared to later worlds in the series is that, despite using so much of the film, all of those elements are re-contextualized to fit the time frame that KH I had to work with and, more importantly, were modified to fit the needs of KH I's larger story. There's no room to fit the "Prince Ali" element proper into the plot, and if the attempt had been made, it would've been an abridged version lacking the comedic texture that makes it work in the movie, and it would have distracted from Sora's story and the plot of the League of Disney Villains. It was much better to make that a brief mention and have the three wishes applied to the battle with the Heartless.
And speaking of battling Heartless - Aladdin's in my Top 3 for Disney world battle partners in the entire series. The dude rocks. And Jafar makes for one of the more challenging two-part bosses in the game. Kurt Zisa is, for my money, the most difficult secret boss in the game, Sephiroth very much included. And that's (usually) a good thing! I like having to shift between physical and magical strategies, and I like that he's a boss that let you get good value out of the Summons (sadly, I wasn't able to duplicate my last playthrough, where I beat him with multiple Summons instead of just Tinkerbell and dumb luck at dodging his vertical spin after she bought me a free life).
Part of me wonders if Monstro and Agrabah shouldn't have been reversed in order. On the one hand, Riku nabbing Jasmine makes for a good shock and a sense of foreboding; the player knows how far gone he is at that point, but Sora doesn't. But why does Riku need the quest for the seven princesses explained at the end of Monstro when he's already captured one of them?
And I might as well cover Monstro in this post, as I don't have too much to say about him. This is one world where I agree with the complaints about KH I's platforming. I appreciate that the bowels of a space-whale should be a claustrophobic place, but the chambers are too small and too packed with crap to make the concept work in an enjoyably challenging way. Instead, it's just tedious.
Storywise, however, Monstro is a great turning point for Sora and Riku. Taking a cute Disney character hostage might be an easy way to sell moral decline, but it's so much more effective than three minutes of lore gibber-gabber by one-note pricks in black coats. And whichever executives at Square and Disney are responsible for giving the final OK to these games' plots should have made the staff re-watch this scene ahead of every scripting session since KH I. The first game as a whole works against later characterizations of Responsible Riku being the one to clean up after lazy, do-as-he-pleases Sora, but that scene and this world demonstrate most clearly how big a retcon that change was.

uhhh merry crisis I haven’t written for kh in a while so have a drabble to try to write again.
—- a mild existential crisis. Xigbar/reader.
“Do you ever think about the expanse of it all?” You quietly say, shifting your shoulders in the grass as the stars and worlds twinkled in the night sky.
“Eh.. not really,” Xigbar responds, his voice only less forceful than usual, but no quieter.
“Why not?” You ask, looking towards him, as he rests against a tree, a leg over his other and his hands cushioning his head.
“Why would I?“ his eye meets yours, somewhere between defiance and a genuine curiosity.
“I mean.. there’s so much out there, and this is meant to be one reality, while there’s a million possibilities… doesn’t that seem like a lot to grasp?”
“It is a lot to grasp; don’t worry your little head over it.”
You glare back at him, his gaze unfaltering.
“I’m serious, sweetheart. You don’t have to worry about a thing.”
“Is this your attempt at being genuine?” You tease, relenting on the mild existential crisis.
“Ah, you can read me so well,” Xigbar snarks, moving closer to you, resting beside you in the grass.
“You know, it is a lot. It’s a lot of worlds, it’s a lot of things,” he murmurs, his voice becoming closer to gravel, “but, those things have one path to reach. Separately.”
“Yeah but… don’t you mess with them? When you go to them.”
“Eh.. I mean, I don’t do much.”
You look over to him, his gaze distant and a little lost.
“Life is weird, isn’t it?”
“Mhmm. Depends how you take it.”

Question from somone thinking about starting selling commissions how often do people who say they want to buy actually willing to buy and not just being nice? (Sorry if bad english)
It's an inevitability, but I think it can vary by age range and community, I saw it more in the kh fandom (younger age ranges to like. 30 usually for active people, and people not yet out of awkward anxious teenager mindsets is commonplace) and additionally with people flaking out vs. the tes fandom (typically older age ranges with more professional experience and I think the social circles are less afraid to stand their ground on things), but there's always going to be somebody saying yes to be nice when it's in fact the opposite and hurts artists. Also, there's gonna be teenagers who can't actually spend money on things saying yes pretty much anywhere.
Based on experience, I would also say if you're taking comms in spaces with younger people, it's necessary to expect a higher rate of flaky behavior from people. So in that case if you take interest checks and preordering that do NOT require putting money forward ahead of time (some people do partial or full comm or merch preorders, important to do that with merch especially), expect ~25-50% or more of the people to not actually pull through and if there's a higher amount of interest than estimated, then it's a pleasant surprise and work accordingly from there in the future.
