JOKE-OGRAPHY: My favorite part of this one is that I've added/paraphrased almost nothing here.  In the Bible story, Jesus is told that His good friend Lazarus has died, so He plans to go bring him back from the dead (or "awaken him").  He tells the disciples that Lazarus has "fallen asleep", but the disciples take that literally and try to comfort Jesus by saying Lazarus will awaken on his own.  Jesus reiterates very clearly that by "fallen asleep", He means Lazarus died.  Thomas is reluctant to let Jesus go to Judea, because last time they were there, apparently Jesus riled up the Jews with His "Son of God" wallamaguckery, but Jesus doesn't let a silly little thing like angry people plotting to arrest and murder Him get in the way of an unslumber party with His best pal!

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Before the mantle of the earth was cooled, before the sea was sealed in its basin, before the sky was locked in place above the clouds, and before the first "Tomic" was officially published, a cartoon was drawn.  Now, it is reborn.  This is not technically a "Tomics Resurrection", because the original did not bear the "Tomics" name.  No, this was after the era of sand and scholars but before the era of blood and time, and now, it's our very first "Proto-Tomic Resurrection".  I've taken a random digital Jesus comic that I drew for my own amusement before my Tomics days and made it part of the official Tomics family.  Here's the original for reference.  You'll note a drastic change in character design, background art, and handwriting, and hopefully you'll agree I've improved, or else we're going to have some major problems:

Hi everybody!

It's a new month (and a new year), so it's time for an update and to thank our very merry December Patreon subscribers!  To make things more festive, I included the comic our artist, Nicky, drew last year for the holidays!  Unfortunately, while we had planned something this year, real life problems prevented it from being completed on time.  Hopefully, this comic draws some smiles for those that didn't see it before tho. :)

So for updates, first, I want to wish everybody a happy new year and my sincerest wish that 2023 is a good year for everybody!!!

Second, the January caption contest won't start until next Saturday (Jan. 14) and it'll run 2 weeks (ending on the 28th).  I thought that a break between contests would be better because right now the caption contests start immediately after the last one ended and I thought that felt a bit cramped.  I held a poll on Patreon to see what people thought and the majority vote by a lot was for shorter contests in the middle/end of the month, so that's what I'll be doing.  

And now I want to thank our amazing December 2022 Patreon supporters!

*kicks down door* IT’S TOURNAMENT PROPAGANDA TIME (tagging @battlebotschampionshiptournament as requested hehe (and also because that's where the tournament is lol))

As the blog named tritonposting, it is my inherent moral duty to post about Triton– more specifically, to post a list of reasons why he is the sexiest robot in the WCVII Battlebots roster. His first round is tomorrow, so I figured I'd get this out early to capture the largest possible audience.

The Propaganda List is 17 items long, and mostly divided into one group of verbal elaborations + one group of images, because I am just a little too enthusiastic about this.

For legal reasons this is all ironic yeah this is totally for the haha funnies no I am not unironically attracted to this robot what do you mean

1. Firstly, to sway those of you who are more into humans than bots, I present you with my artwork of a human AU Triton:

A dashing himbo, no?

2. Shape language is everything when designing a combat robot. Rounder shapes (example: those found on Blip and Rusty) indicate a cuter, more approachable persona. Triton, on the other hand, is mostly angles. Thanks to that, he looks fierce and intimidating, which is immensely sexy of him.

4. I mentioned the blade, and realized that was worth making a separate point of, because… have you seen it?!? Not only is it 80 pounds– the heaviest a weapon can be, according to the rulebook– but it’s elegant, sleek, and casts one hell of a shadow. When your bot’s weapon alone is iconic enough to be used as a logo, as Team Overboard has utilized it, that’s how you know you’ve designed something that’s a cut above the rest.

Now you have. Forget the roar of your standard spinner, this thing screams. To some, this is a scary sound, a hallowing reminder that combat robots, when pitted against humans, easily become death machines. To me? It just makes this freakin’ robot even hotter.

6. PROTECTED. WHEELS.

8. SELF. RIGHTING. ASS. SPIKE.

9. FAST. FUCKING. SPIN-DOWN. TIME.

10. Points 6-9 (hehe funni) highlight the engineering intricacies few notice at first glance, but that have contributed to making Triton the immediate– relative– success he is. (2-2 isn’t bad for a rookie bot, especially considering some 1-3 bots made it into this year’s RO32!) Team Overboard had some intense time/location constraints to work with this year, given the timing of Deep Six’s rejection, so these tiny details couldn’t have been planned out very far in advance. Understanding how quickly the builders drew up such ingenuity from scratch makes Triton’s design even more impressive. (Just in case I’m losing you in the technicalities, well-engineered robot = sexy robot!!!)

this was a peculiar year! I’ve written much that I liked and drew several pieces I’m still proud of; had some pretty awful irl experiences that still helped me grow; I’ve read the humble amount of twenty-something books but they were all books that I enjoyed; happiest moment was getting her, and I owe legendary user em my entire life for this. physically and mentally it was one long marathon of a struggle with some not at all good very bad dips and boy it��s still ongoing, but hey, we do what we can with what we have! last year my resolution was to maybe write a short story, which I didn’t technically do, but I did make a silly thing divided in drabbles here (which. I haven’t finished yet), and I’m happy with what I’ve made for that so far. all in all I’d say this year was hard but necessary! it was also a little less lonely than last year, and I’m glad for that.

thank you so much for following me in this journey, no matter how long you’ve been riding along! your company, be it as a friend or as someone who sometimes likes my posts, is always appreciated, and it means a lot to me. may this new year be kind to you, and you kind to yourself as well.

Yuuri’s b’day 2023

I made a b’day post after quite a while. This is the side comic I made for Yuuri receiving that bearbee.

A day before Yuuri’s b’day:

After finishing this side comic, I realized that Greta has already gifted Yuuri and Wolfram a stuffed bearbee in some side chapters in the manga.

So, both Wolfram and Greta showed up with the idea of gifting Yuuri at the very last moment. Hence, in the last panel, I only drew Wolf sewing the gift since, technically, the majority of work would have to be done by Wolf, lol.

I’m surprised they still exist? Not in a mean way, but they feel very much like a product of a bygone era. Unless you’re asking about the Cirque du Soleil, which I don’t think really counts as a traditional circus.

I’m useless at navigating using the cardinal directions, but my sense of direction isn’t bad. I figure that if I can get from one end of Venice to the other without getting too lost, I have to be at least decent at knowing which way I want to go.

Alonso very impressive from the moment he got in the car Fallows | 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix

Aston Martin technical director Dan Fallows says he and the rest of his team are “very, very pleased” with the impact Fernando Alonso has had since joining them this season. Alonso went quickest in two of the three practice sessions for the Bahrain Grand Prix before qualifying fifth for today’s race. Fallows, who joined Aston Martin as technical director last season from Red Bull, expressed before qualifying how pleased the technical team at Silverstone had been by Alonso’s impact since joining at the start of the year. “He’s clearly very impressive chap,” Fallows said. “He’s incredibly motivated, incredibly competitive and he’s brought a huge amount of energy to the team. “I think he has been very impressive from the moment he got in the car last year. His feedback is where you’d expect it to be for somebody with his level of experience. But he has the ability to diagnose issues with the car in a way that, as an engineering team, we’re very, very pleased with.” Alonso and Aston Martin drew the attention of rival teams and drivers with an impressive pre-season testing period in which Alonso regularly featured in the top five in the timings. Some shit’s happened in the last week or so.

08-11-23 My old bandmate from college, who went to technically a rival high school of mine, died. Gone. Its weird. I miss him even though it had been a long while since we talked, as we all do as we grow, we move apart and sometimes lose contact. But thats it. No more joking around or making fun of him for being a french horn player. I just.. I don’t know. I miss him, he was always really good at taking a joke, a sweetheart but a little dramatic. But it was very much so him. I’m teetering between numb and depressed, trying to keep myself fed and active but its been hard. Found out on the 13th after work and the last two days have been a bit mind numbing. After I found out, I drew him. So that felt.. nice to keep distracted. I guess

The other thing is just dumb.

I miss my fuck up of a shit father. My sister saw him, a few days prior, and for her I’m happy. She said it herself “you may have not gotten him as the loving dad, but I did, I miss that version of him” and I’m happy for her. But I feel so.. unloved for that. And today I’m just feeling weak. Like always I guess but sometimes I’m better on putting on a front. She’s happy, and I’m haply for her in a way, but I’ll never get that. I tired so hard. I tried so. Fucking. Hard. I am never enough.
