Deeply depressed. Frustrated with people and dealing with their feelings and having to deal with my feelings. We are holding on by a thread and currently trying not to catastrophize and say that being laid off has ruined my entire life, even though it feels like it has by denying me an income, rescinding health insurance, and triggering my ex-partner to spiral and burn down his life and the life we had together. Literally during my call with a recruiter today he said hmm it’s a hard sell with only eight months of industry experience; to fucking get anywhere anymore you need at least a year if you’re not currently enrolled in an undergrad program getting an internship.
I was able to convince him that it actually is worth his while to put me up for an interview (and he did, on Monday, thank god), but imagine how much easier it would be if I had a year, year and a half, two years of experience. Imagine how different it would be if they had let me stay another year to take on more of the workload, I had my annual review and asked for a promotion, and they’d given it to me instead of having to lay me off, give me severance and COBRA, and spend a bunch of time hiring and training someone else. Imagine if we had actually received the additional training they had promised us for further upward mobility.
I’m working so hard not to catastrophize and to keep my feelings to myself and safe people, and I’m just like. All of this is their fault. This all stemmed from my layoff. So much of my life would be different if I still had a job.
And I am just so FRUSTRATED and also need to figure out a way to tell someone politely to fuck off and stay in their own lane, because he’s fucking up and knows it because he’s keeping it a secret!!
I just. need. a job.
#we are CONTINUING to manifest income#and a STEADY JOB#and a CONVINCING INTERVIEW on Monday#turns out prompt engineering (which the recruiter was concerned about) is one of the main things I did at Cresta#no need for concern!#I don’t know a lot about the software engineering part of it but that’s not my job#AND I was a big voice for my team in getting the engineers to talk to us about how the LLMs worked and how to use them best#SO!!!! I do actually know that too#and you’re right recruiter id be great in a customer facing position#I would be so great for this job#give pls

The AI Dilemma: Balancing Benefits and Risks
One of the main focuses of AI research is the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), a hypothetical AI system that surpasses human intelligence in all areas. The AGI timeline, which outlines the expected time frame for the realization of AGI, is a crucial aspect of this research. While some experts predict that AGI will be achieved within the next few years or decades, others argue that it could take centuries or even millennia. Regardless of the time frame, the potential impact of AGI on human society and civilization is enormous and far-reaching.
Another important aspect of AI development is task specialization, where AI models are designed to excel at specific tasks, improving efficiency, productivity, and decision-making. Watermarking technology, which identifies the source of AI-generated content, is also an important part of AI development and addresses concerns about intellectual property and authorship. Google's SynthID technology, which detects and removes AI-generated content on the internet, is another significant development in this field.
However, AI development also brings challenges and concerns. Safety concerns, such as the potential for AI systems to cause harm or injury, must be addressed through robust safety protocols and risk management strategies. Testimonials from whistleblowers and insider perspectives can provide valuable insight into the challenges and successes of AI development and underscore the need for transparency and accountability. Board oversight and governance are also critical to ensure that AI development meets ethical and regulatory standards.
The impact of AI on different industries and aspects of society is also an important consideration. The potential of AI to transform industries such as healthcare, finance and education is enormous, but it also raises concerns about job losses, bias and inequality. The development of AI must be accompanied by a critical examination of its social and economic impacts to ensure that the benefits of AI are distributed fairly and the negative consequences are mitigated.
By recognizing the challenges and complexities of AI development, we can work toward creating a future where AI is developed and deployed in responsible, ethical and beneficial ways.

I am going to BOMB this coding interview but I'm trying to keep in mind a few things:
1). I am trying to let go of anxiety this year. The anxiety is not helping me so I just need to breathe and relax.
2). I don't really want to work for this company anyway, it's kind of a super shady start up which isn't really my vibe, so even when they inevitably reject me, it will be ok
3). This will be good practice
4). I have other coding interviews lined up over the next couple of weeks with companies that I actually AM interested in working for
5). The mantra: I am not unhireable. I am not incompetent. Given enough time and practice I can do well
Ultimately I think this means that I need to start getting up before the kids so that every morning I can knock out an example problem, even on the weekends.

Currently, I am actively looking for projects in my company. I have attended a few interviews and they really make me realise that I have a lot of gaps in knowledge and understanding.
Since I am in the java track, I have been attending a few interviews for java projects. The only experience I have ahd is to use java ee with apache ant, so you can imagine how much knowledge I am lacking on.
Some concepts that they tested on in the interview:
- DTOs
- Rest APIs and how do you store keys in production
- Binding
- How do you use Jenkins to do CICD
- Maven concepts
I also went for an interview for data analytics and they tested me on Sql concepts:
- joins
- aggregate functions
- other functions like roll number, rank, dense rank
- he asked me the difference between having and group by??
