Indian Navy rescues Iranian-flagged fishing vessel hijacked by Somali pirates

The Indian Navy has rescued an Iranian-flagged fishing vessel hijacked by Somali pirates and freed its 19-member Pakistani crew off the east coast of Somalia, The National News reports.

The incident comes 36 hours after the same Indian ship rescued another Iranian fishing vessel from pirates.

INS Sumitra intercepted the Iranian-flagged vessel Al Naeemi, which was hijacked by 11 Somali pirates who took its 19-member crew – all from Pakistan – hostage. The Navy said:

 “Responding swiftly to the developing situation, Sumitra intercepted the FV on January 29 and through coercive posturing and effective deployment of her integral helicopter and boats, compelled the safe release of the crew and the vessel.”

Hi hi, Lili! Yes, of course. Tbh I shouldn't have called them "pirates" they are known as such and treated like villains, but they're more like unofficial naval guard! The official naval guard was disbanded in the 90's due to the civil war that broke out [btw this civil war is why I'm diaspora! My maternal family fled to Djibouti or elsewhere. My dad came to Canada due to it.] Anyway! Other nations took advantage of this as they tended to do and started fishing illegally in the waters! Somali citizens rely on fishing to live [also farming and agriculture bc I also recall there was a drought and famine going on] so they turned to "piracy" to stop these thieves from stealing from them! Of course, these outsiders didn't like it and called it "piracy." they shouldn't be there in the first place!!!

The leader of the Beast Pirate-Kaido said as he chugged down another bottle of alcohol as usual especially when it's a day of celebrating. What celebrations you might have ask? We'll a celebration because a rumour had spread around the Beast Pirates, or even outside of Wano that you were now engaged.

Many subordinates of his even asked if the rumors were even true he hasn't decline or clarify it, so the rumors spread like wildfire (like his name tehehe) and now here he was in Kaido's private chamber where he was summond by him.

"Yes Kaido-san that's how I managed to have their hand." King said as he gently held the braided hair that was now called a "loveknot" because now inside of it is a strand of your hair, a unknown declaration that both of you are now fiancé's but you don't know that yet.

"That fun and all but how did you even manage to know that information, [Name] surely have known that information." Kaido then wiped the alcohol droll of the corner of his lips and stared at his right hand man.

"It's a long story but based on some stories they gave me, I manage to track down some old libraries that has some old information such as the one that I did." King said as he smirked under his mask "And one section of a book explain Lunarians way of courting, which is incredibly rare to even find, that's the reason why they didn't know that I basically engaged them to me (Name) didn't have the prior knowledge of it."

hi guys ummm, i may or may not have been thinking more about that riptide cat au

first off, gillion has been added to the lineup! i think he came from a warrior cat-style society. a feral colony, that lives on a little island just off-shore. y'know? but got banished for reasons similar to in canon riptide.

and for those who haven't seen the post with just chip and jay, chip was a ship cat, but became more of a stray under cat price. jay comes from a very fancy family of show cats who have taken it upon themselves to dictate the lives of all the strays and feral cats in the area, but she ran away from it all to hang out with chip.

gillion would have washed ashore at some point, and promptly joined their little band of misfits.

their story loosely follows that of riptide but the severity of events has been toned down a ton. after all, this is a trio of cats going on adventures in and around a little seaside fishing town, not a crew of pirates travelling the world. big events like not ferin well can still occur, they'd just have to be altered significantly.

above you'll find a rough little map i did in inkarnate, (i'm picturing the pacific northwest coast, vaguely,) and a general size ref for the three. more on them later

i think that some riptide characters are included and some are omitted. much of their crew exists as characters around the area, but a lot of people they run into are either barely involved or not there at all, as it conflicts with the setting.

so i'm thinking ollie might be another cat, whereas a character like gryffon might be a dog. queen could be a magpie. see where i'm going with this? idk. i sure don't

others could be various wild animals. for example aslana and her sisters could be a band of otters or seals.

below are the size ref images separated. just so you know the shape of em. gill is very fluffy and it's important everyone knows that. oh and for those interested, in terms of breeds jay is based on a somali, gillion a norwegian forest cat and maine coon, and chip isn't really based on anything in particular.

Pirates Ramblings

The Pirates of the Caribbean universe would be so much funnier if the British won in At World's End because then Davy Jones would just work for the British forever and the list of shit to do with Davy Jones in the Royal Navy is near-endless. Like he'd totally be involved in a bunch of major naval battles because the Flying Dutchman is invincible. He'd definitely fight in the Napoleonic Wars, the World Wars, the Opium Wars, among others. But Davy Jones would also get quite bored during peacetime so the navy would probably assign him to hunt pirates in the Indian Ocean or something.

You may be thinking, "If Britain has an invincible ship and an immortal crew on it's side, surely they'd win the American Revolution, right?" Wrong. America would still win because if the British asked Jones and his crew to sacrifice their once-in-a-decade chance to be on land just to fight Washington, they'd probably just say "Screw you!" and hang out at a bar in Massachusetts instead.

Come the late 19th century, the Dutchman would need some retrofitting to remain effective so they'd turn it into like a destroyer or something, but it would be tough to renovate it due to the fact that they have to coax Bootstrap and that other guy out of the walls, as well as Jones' demand that they don't dismantle his organ.

Davy Jones would probably end the Russo-Japanese War early because the Second Russian Pacific Squadron would fire on the Dutchman thinking it's a Japanese torpedo boat and Jones would overreact accordingly.

Davy Jones would probably get notified when the Royal Navy updates their uniforms and be sent a new uniform but he wouldn't wear it until it's sufficiently barnacle'd.

In the 1930's Davy Jones would probably come across Amelia Earhart stranded on an island or something. He'd heard about this woman in the newspapers and the radios, so he'd sail close to the island and yell through a megaphone "MISSES EARHART I'M A BIG FAN-AH DO YOU FEAR DEATH?" Bonus points if she agrees to join him and her Dutchmansona (for lack of a better term) involves coconut crabs in some way.

At some point the Spanish would get a similar idea and fish Salazar out of wherever the fuck they left him (I don't remember shit from that movie) and he and Davy Jones would have beef over who's the better supernatural sea captain.

Fast forward to the modern day, Davy Jones would still be active, probably hunting Somali pirates or something. He'd definitely get cancelled on social media for one thing or another.

There's probably a whole lot of other goofy ahh scenarios that would happen but these are the only ones I can think of at present.
