some i liked. some i loved. some i didnt like. all are worth playing and like also listen the second friends and family heard i was making a timeloop game, i got bombarded with timeloop media recs. so here is a sampler in no particular order! Outer Wilds

If you need to play one timeloop game, it's this one. Please play it blind. I swear to god you won't regret it. it's timeloops in space!!! it makes you think!!! there are so many "HOLY SHIT WAIT I GET IT NOW" moments!!! please just go play it please please please. some of the best environmental storytelling in a game. so many hints in plain sight. JUST PLAY IT

I didn't actually like Oxenfree very much. But also it stayed in my mind for weeks after I finished playing it. that's how you know it's a good game. I really enjoyed the dialogue system in this, and how much the loop affected the characters. and it got so spooky!!!

i'm in the credits for this one because i was one of the inspirations heehee <3 i loved playing it… short little game about trust, self-sabotage, and never-ending cycles. highly recommend it

The Stanley Parable

Listen babes it absolutely counts. I replayed it a bunch while making ISAT, and I got immensely inspired by the dialogue, and how it catches you off guard sometimes? You get SO SO used to the narrator's "All of his coworkers were gone. What could it mean?" at the start of every game, and then for no reason instead it says "A soft wind blew outside and perhaps rain started, and if it did it stopped shortly after. Stanley hoped that he would one day see weather." like WHAT THE FUUUUCK IM GETTING CHILLS JUST THINKING ABOUT IT

12 minutes

ok i know we all made fun of this game when it came out because the story is batshit insane HOWEVER!!!!!!!! i REALLY REALLY LOVED how doing the same actions multiple times would have slightly different outcomes. If you battle someone, the first time you get knocked out in one hit and the loop restarts. the second time you try, you evade the first hit, but get knocked out. the third time, you last a little bit longer, and a little bit longer, until you can pretty much hold your own against your enemy. And it applies to so many things in this. Retrying different things to see how they would change was a delight.

this game is also so bad its almost good, and if you're interested you HAVE to play it with friends so you can yell about how bad it is together.

Zero Escape

it's just a good series ok. escape rooms, and also time loops! the 3rd game in particular goes deep into The Math of how timeloops would work, which i think is interesting. sometimes timeloop games just go "yeah you can timeloop dont worry about it" and others go "OK HERE'S THE HOW AND WHY IT WORKS" and both are interesting!

START AGAIN: a prologue

this game has almost everything i could wish for in a timeloop game. depression. lines repeating. dying brings you back. you get new levels and skills because you're aware of the loops but your party members don't. so you get overpowered next to them and they Notice. just. party members who dont know about the loops still noticing something is wrong. you are acting differently than yesterday. you look sad. you are acting weird. you know too much. how did you know where the keys were? how did you know this would happen? what's wrong? talk to us. and oh my god this game has a sequel? which will probably have Actually Everything i could wish for in a timeloop game? i can't wait. who made this? (its me i made this)

Ghost Trick

ok its not really time loops and more time travel and only for 4 minutes HOWEVER!!!! you should play it. you know you should play it because everyone says so. so go play it

Elsinore

im sure its a great game but ive never seen/read hamlet. so thats a failing on my part. because. you absolutely need to know hamlet to understand this game lol i did like the whole "make sure to find out which events are Important and which ones aren't so you can have The Perfect Loop"! very fun. or it would be. if i. knew. hamlet

The Forgotten City

a friend kept recommending it to me and i didn't like it. its good! just not for me. but if you like to think a lot you should play it. another "make sure to find out which events are Important and which ones aren't so you can have The Perfect Loop" game

Gnosia

Gonna be real. I didn't like the story very much, in part because the game lets you choose your gender but still acts like youre a straight dude. HOWEVER the gameplay was very inspiring to me. Every loop is pretty much just an among us meeting, and you have to find out who the imposters are or everyone dies and you loop again. and sometimes you ARE the imposter, so you need to make sure no one finds out. or you loop again. rules get added as time goes on too. i REALLY loved how quickly the loops stacked up. seeing "loop 100" was such a nice moment. ive been here so long! i tried to recreate that somewhat for my own game…

Loop Hero

Technically not a timeloop game, but a loop game. It still absolutely counts because it's about loops and memories, and what are loops and memories together if not a timeloop. You have your little guy going through a closed loop, battling enemies, getting cards, and making the world whole again by using those cards to make forests, towns, lakes come to life. I am famously a Story First Gameplay Second kinda player, but I did play this 45h for the gameplay alone. I learned a lot about battle balancing and randomness by playing this!

You and Me and Her: A Love Story

you know doki doki litterature club? this came before. and one might say. it's. better. in some parts (and i say that as someone who LOVED ddlc!) i won't say much except it's a dating sim but with timeloops. with a lot of what it implies. why are you dating this girl a second time? a third time? a fourth time? choose another one already! it was such a fascinating game to play, and is incredibly meta in the way it talks about dating sims and visual novels. had a lot of very impactful moments however, i played the hentai version. some of the worst, most cringy sex ive ever read and heard. however, one might say the sex is an integral part of the game and its deconstruction of hentai/dating sims…? no. just play the steam version which doesnt have the horrible sex scenes and you will have a great time i think (or play the hentai version. if you like. to watch. horrible sex scenes???)

Higurashi

knowing this is a timeloop game is a massive spoiler. however, this game is more than a decade old, so,,, honestly if you havent played higurashi what are you doing. i know i just spoiled you on it but i was also spoiled on it and i can GUARANTEE YOU that you will still have an amazing time. one more thing. you gotta play with the original sprites or you're a fake fan

I Was a Teenage Exocolonist

starts as a visual novel/management sim/dating sim kinda thing, until you realize that every replay is a new timeline. so the main character can save people, because they remembered about them dying in a previous one. i wish the timeloop would affect the game/story more (let me find a certain character quicker once ive found them in a previous playthrough!!!), but timeloop aside, it's a very fun game to play!!!

omg. the first of the one-shots on this list. WOW i can't believe it's almost been a year since i first posted this. i still think it's u[ there with two slow dancers as one of my most well written fics. id been planning pmreader verse out for months before this fic, but this was the fic where i really solidified that WOW pmreader verse is really a thing, because it was the first fic where i was really able to get deeper into pmreader and dazai's past with them reflecting together in the present.

MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE NEVER BEFORE | pmreader verse

your patience is thinning. despite having a conversation with dazai and being led to believe everything is okay, he's suddenly avoiding you again. luckily, or maybe unluckily, his hand is forced when he realizes that you're not waiting for him this time. whether he likes it or not, this confrontation is happening—except you slowly realize as it goes on that dazai's definition of intimacy is dreadfully different from yours (ņsfw; fem!reader, pm!reader, i wouldn't say this is angst but it does deal with some references to heavy topics; jealous!dazai, depictions of dissociation (dazai), dazai's on the brink of a mental breakdown for a bit in the beginning, references to abuse (dazai. no actual depictions), references to dubcon (dazai. no actual depictions), dazai is wildly intelligent but not so much when it comes to sex & other forms of intimacy (he is quite uneducated in fact), slight oral (male rec), unprotected sex, sub!dazai, dazai and reader argue for a bit (he calls her a whore - doesn't mean it but still says it) wc: 10.4k)

now. so. i dont think this fic is one of my most well-written fics, but it deserves the last spot on here because this is the fic i struggled the most to write. i kid you guys not, i rewrote it LITERALLY five or six times. i didn't even want to post it for weeks because i was so hesitant about it. it's pretty loaded even compared to most of my other fics, but now looking back on it, even if i'm not 100% with how it came out, im still proud of myself for being able to finish it and put it out there.

HONORABLE MENTION: WHEN YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW

a series of connected one-shots set in the same universe that can be read as standalones or all together, centered around port mafia member (eventually executive)!reader and dazai's relationship progressing over the years.

PFFFFF i didn't want to give this its own mention up there because all of the one shots & two of the series are technically in this universe, but WAHHHHH when you know, you know <333 literally the biggest passion project i've ever had. this series is my whole heart and soul, i've put so much of myself into it, i've put so much time into developing our girl pm!reader, so much energy into building the world and fleshing out ocs to make it feel more real. literally NOTHING compares to wykyk on this blog. pmreader verse is everything to me and it makes me so happy that all of u guys love it just as much it makes me so excited to share it with u all.

(SPOILER WARNING to people who haven't read your story) I SWEAR to GOD!!!! This is borderline anon-hate with my current state of mind after finishing The Raven and The Snake over this weekend. I finished it in two days. I'm a mess. I've even started making a playlist because I feel like I can't properly enter reality again. I'm supposed to be writing my bachelors thesis right now,,,, what have you done to me!!!!

I loved it so so so much, and I am very mad I cannot have a collectors edition hardback version of it on my shelf. There are many many moments that keep replaying in my head, and scenes that I saw so vividly when reading through it. The first imperio moment and Sebs shadow and imperio-green eyes as Clora was held captive, and the entire scene in the repository and how I was physically shaking as I slowly realised that Seb had made a fucking horcrux, and when it was CONFIRMED the GASP i GUSPED. It was so perfect, and so very Sebastian; because OF COURSE he made a horcrux (lowkey hot, sue me).

And the scene where Clive realised Seb straight up just died for his daughter without knowing he would be back, oh my dear lord.

And the idea of Seb being seen as a 'Ruffian' and that little mamas boi bitch of a Henry thinking his hand-me-down-riches, muggle ass would be preferable to a powerful wizard. I secretly wished they didn't have to keep magic a secret so Henry could have known just how inferior he was. AND SEB APPARATING SO FAR UMPH the skilllll.

I could go on and on and on, and maybe I will some other time in your inbox when I have another mental breakdown.

And now I'm also almost done with the small sequel. Just taking a break to bombard you with this unhinged message of mine. And how you draw Sebastian is so fucking good. It's actually what got me reading in the first place. I see your version as being in a completely separate universe from the game, cause the way you draw him just has that something, and it's not the same anywhere else. It certainly doesn't help my obsession that my own boyfriend has the same features and colour palette as him, now I think I might even use your art as inspo for next time we need wardrobe additions.

been into those raph&leo against donnie&mikey pre-movie fics lately. and like. thoughts on don being the more outspoken at how destructive and idiotic the other two are, while mike is more sensitive and overwhelmed by everything? not that im hating on these characterizations! i enjoy the angst they bring, but overanalyzing is fun.

sure, mikey is the youngest and it makes sense to an extent. however, dr delicate touch and dr feelings are very loud and blunt. and yeah the situation is more extreme, but i think about donnie taking a similar position to what he did in hot soup: the game, staying out of the raph&mikey debate until directly addressed.

personally, i see mikey taking the lead on trying to get through to raph+mikey with donnie there to mediate and give his input when needed. and behind closed doors they definitely take turns comforting each other for sure. they’re both shown to be distraught over familial situations (turtle-dega nights and hidden city’s most wanted), so it makes sense to me for them to take shelter in each other as opposed to one of them being a total shield for the other.

oh, i dont like it. i actually find it unfaithful and flanderizing when it comes to their characters, especially since mikey is a lot more outspoken and direct while donnie is passive-- and this manifests in their behavior as a duo, too.

if not directly emotionally affected by it, i could see it slowly shifting donnie's behavior. he starts to close himself off more, works harder, becomes quieter and more standoffish, not really understanding why he feels so bad because the tension is slowly getting to him. being neurodivergent also makes arguing uhhh hard to witness especially if it were to get intense, loud noise and all that. not to mention raph and leo do almost get into a fistfight at the beginning of the movie so there is a VERY good chance that's happened before, especially with how quick donnie and mikey are to try and pull them apart.

i think comfort would be mutual though, yeah. mikey being distresed and fearful doesn't feel like it aligns with the way he normally acts in conflict? like disinterested and annoyed and then determined and frustrated feels like it aligns with him better. he's not a helpless crying child but i could see him getting more and more upset the longer it goes on, especially because he loves both of his bigger brothers and he feels like they're acting so stupid lmao.

mikey's also not really a savant when it comes to mediating because that's ALWAYS been more raph's job, maybe leo sometimes. he's more likely to go "guys stop fighting!" instead of actually breaking it up and that does very little, it'd probably just come off like moral high-grounding. even in the doctor feelings seminar he did with donnie in the show he was not exactly taking a very empathetic approach he was just being condescending LMAO

generally with donnie i feel like it would manifest in more avoidant behavior (and maybe this is a bit of a hot take but i feel like he would be more likely to have an "is it me?" reaction to something like this, especially because so much of this is about team synergy and he plays such an essential role in support), while mikey would be desperate to "fix" it (more than he is to actually resolve it) once he realizes it's becoming a persistent problem, but because he's unable to properly get to the root of it, it'd just make him increasingly more frustrated. and ofc i do think this would also seriously strengthen donnie and mikey's bonds with each other because i could see both of them having a breaking point about it eventually.

i DO actually have a fic in the works about this exact scenario, it's a sequel to coming undone that mostly addresses the kind of pain and frustration of donnie being unable to properly harness his ninpo as seamlessly as the others can, having some gifted kid issues because it's really hard to try new things when he's been so effortless with science for so long, all while there's so much tension in the family because of the leadership switch,,, it's about donnie and mikey bonding and confiding in each other mostly but ive put it on the backseat for canary continuity, maybe one day i'll pick it up again!!

● At first her meeting you and becoming acquaintances with each other was the best thing that ever happened to her she felt emotions that she never felt and she wanted to stay with you for a very long time in fact and she wanted to make you happiest person possible

●Now to start off in her daily obsession over you She would do Anything and I mean ANYTHING to make you satisfied with her care and company firstly she would buy things you wanted even though you didn't need them now

● Oh ! you saw a Squidshort on your phone of how to make chocolate s'more cookies but you don't have the ingredients for it ? She make them and give and feed them like a baby to you no questions asked , you wanted physical copy to a sequel to a game series that you love but it was too expensive for you She's gifting it to you now!

● And oh and have I mentioned 8 LOVES to stalk you in the middle of the night in your apartment level while you are awake or asleep and if you ever lock your doors and windows when you have the very strange feeling that someone is stalking you while you are resting in your home dont forget that she was a trained octarian soldier in the past and she will know how to get inside of your home one way or another and watch you till night's end

● At some times she would be highly but silently jealous of your friends and she would show them you appreciation for them by either hugging your arm hugging you from behind or simply just smiling at you and hoping that you would smile back at her or do some "convincing" if necessary to her

● but sometimes 8's jealously can get a biiiit crazy TOO crazy in fact

●Now it would all depend of how people treated you and either it would either be a swift splatting death or pure ummerciful torture for the poor inkling or octoling

● 8 will wait until your nightly conversation is over with a friend and quietly follow the unaware suspect that hurt your feelings today and when they enter their household the worst happens and it's best to not know what she would do to them when she makes physical contact with them

● but overall 8 is not that bad to a yandere she will not kidnap and make you live with her forever you need to do is not talk or interact with anyone! and nobody will get hurt if you even knew that ...

Agent 4

● Now her is an interesting case Her first meeting you in person was like absolute heaven to you but it felt like a Rollercoaster of fuzzy emotions crashed onto her face and she didn't know how to respond to them at all

● when 4 sees you She either becomes a blushing mess or one massive flirtatious or maybe rarely both and it can result a bit awkward interaction and a 4 dashing away from you in a flash crashing through people like a bullet

● She would do things to get your attention and admiration like trying to show off cool tricks to you at turf wars handing you gifts and giving you great food or tell you the most flirtatious marks She can make

● and at times where she would be jealous she would very quietly curse out the person you were having fun with or having a simple conversation with

● in all first sight everything looks a-ok around here no problems Overall

AND THAT'S WHAT YOU WILL THINK

● at times when you're talking to a friend or family member 4 will just stare and smile at you no words will come from her mouth she'll stare at you with a cute but threatening like Chara from undertale smile and it started to make you super nervous about this

● She would also take pictures of you without your permission and stick them to her wall and cherish them like a cultist till the end

●more of your friends a were starting to dissappear more inkling were starting to avoid you as fast as they could stuff was feeling like to be downhill for you until 4 invited you to her house one day you both talked, ate, and drank but everything was starting to get dark in your eyes and all you could see was her face smiling before completely blacking out

● And now you were kidnapped By 4 and best try to adjust to your new life now because it will be quite torturing to you but pure bliss for 4 she gets to feed you cuddle you, And take care of your entire life that is if you try to escape that is ...

● She won't mind to cut you a little bit or set a "example" to what happens when you TRY and leave her...

Agent 3 / Captain 3

(There's 2 types of agent 3 but I'll be discussing the captain 3 from splatoon 3!)

● Now 3 would be the silent but slightly controlling sort type of yandere

● everything all started when you first recruited by the new new Squidbeak Splatoon and became the new agent 3 in alterna and ever since you joined in 3 took a small liking to your eagerness and confidence and 3 kinda liked that

● She would do things to help you but try to also try to be the serious captain that She is like popping up behind you scaring the ink out of you and giving you advice on new missions in kettles

● 3 also has a whole small to medium sized book all about you just like Marie has with Agent 4 and what you like or don't like how much times that you brush your teeth in a whole week most amount of time you weared a certain cloths/brand

● and she would rarely give some gifts like a pretty flower that she found or something that would at least make you interested she could also train you if you wanted to but expect little to no break time around training Time

●but sometimes when your about to do a hard kettle sometimes 3 will just stop you there and go in herself and Let's hope those fuzzy octolings get the quick treatment from 3 ...

●And at times she would just tell you to take a break when you're working a bit to hard for her standards she won't go to weird precautions to hug you silently and so damn hard that it might turn your bones to dust

● 3 also would politely and very quietly ask you for dates at her house and most of it is just hanging out or cuddling each other witch is pretty much ok

● Surprisingly she doesn't barely get jealous with other people if that is if they become a jerk to you She won't be afraid at ALL to do some "talking" to the person stop them

●Overall 3 may be a be a big ol no talk hard-core captain but she's a softie and will do things no other inkling would even think of you to do for you

i was thinking of @andypantsx3 when i retweeted that!!! i’ve told this story before, but like, the day i first found one of her fics (cover shot) i was meant to be deep cleaning the house, lmao. instead i sat on my completely stripped bed and then read through every fic she had at the time. i couldn’t even stop for dinner!! i got takeaway (fish and chips) and sat there in the car reading ab intra and like, there was a moment where, in the fic, Reader’s confronted with the fall out of the actual Bad Guy and I remember being like oh shit, and just sort of blinking myself out of the story and staring out the car window and thinking this is the best day of my life and i love this. LOL.

and you know, it happens a lot—the magic of fanfic, i guess, lmao—but it’s such an… acute sense of satisfaction, lmao. like, finding something you really love and enjoy, and then realising that there’s more of it. i do think it’s very distinct to fanfic—because it’s the same characters! the same series! the same canon! like, the delight i felt when i read andie’s war paint, and then realised that it was actually like, a sequel (kinda)—unmatched. 🥹

my editing process doesnt exist, which is something youll already know if you read my writing XD

scrivener has a basic spell check and then i (sometimes) drop stuff in gdocs to check for grammar but i usually post things at 1-3am and immediate go to sleep so... it can be rough

my writing process is a work in progress i guess? I went SEVERAL years not writing at all and am getting back into the swing of writing again.

how i plan and write things depends on how... involved? the idea is. like sometimes i just write like 20-30 words broadly describing the idea and thats all i need to get started writing. other times i have an outline thats almost 2k words long and still isnt done before i even get into the fic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

not to be a dick but i feel like some people are being purposefully obtuse about mike flanagans work. theyre like "wah his stories are all about grief and thats boring" and you know what i get that sometimes you want something more fast paced or less character centered. one of his most mainstream films however is hush, which was praised for being an intelligent slasher with reminiscent of early horror (if you dont know this one - a deaf woman is hunted in her own house by a masked killer). because that was not the basis for this story, you dont see the version of mike flanagan you see people mocking.

the haunting of hill house, bly manor, the fall of the house of usher, and parts of midnight club are all based on pre-existing works given flair. ALL of which are very famous (save midnight club) examples of gothic literature. NOTORIOUSLY drenched in metaphor, parallels for real world pain, grief, family depth and drama, and more things people turn their nose up to because they think it is back in vogue to sound like middle schoolers reading poe. all of these stories are thus faithful in their interpretation.

some of his original works, such as midnight mass or before i wake, are dark fantasy mixed with gothic resulting in something where, if you want to put it this way, grief or emotion is not the end-all be-all answer. there are elements at play that are inexplicable and do not attempt explanation.

like if you dont like or understand gothic fiction thats fine. you dont have to. and truthfully i dont think a carrie miniseries is needed, nor a remake of the exorcist. but this shit happens all the time, box office fails and crappy remakes happen all the time, and when it comes to horror i dont really see people here putting their noses up at it. both these examples have been remade and rebooted and refurbished, infamously, many times. theyre original 70s horror and this happens. he has already successfully and faithfully adapted more than one stephen king work already, such as doctor sleep. this adaptation was celebrated as managing to be a faithful version of the book, while also being able to be a sequel to the film of the shining as well as the novel, in rewiring several parts to befit the best of both. his adaptation of gerald's game, also by king, was for decades thought to be unfilmable and impossible. and yet he did it, and well, and with themes of horror and human emotion that apparently wont... go well with a stephen king adaptation?

i legitimately just think this is in example of people thinking they are more interesting because they dislike something vaguely popular. as if mike flanagan has household name status that he does on tumblr. and i am not saying that everyone has to enjoy his works but when one person says they're not a fan and then so many people jump at the chance to agree and say they always hated him, and this, and that, to me it just looks like some of you genuinely dont know how to have your own opinions. or know enough to have them.

in other news i just watched the mario movie (german dub) and it was pretty nice. it was very Illumination Adventure Movie so i didn't expect much but what it set out to do it did pretty well. there were some parts where i kinda cringe cuz illumination humor and i think nobody really liked the existentialist luma

as an adventure movie it did a great job of being entertaining throughout. not a movie where i really Laughed at any point but it got plenty of smiles out of me

i know peach's portrayal sparked conservative outrage which is stupid. i liked giving her a more sassy character while still being Nice and Girly. since that's also what she tends to be in games with actual dialogue in them.

damseling luigi instead of peach is also just a great decision for a) storytelling and b) marketing.

a) because they went with the old cartoon isekai approach to the lore here. this means mario doesn't really Know peach at all so if she got kidnapped he wouldn't have an emotional tie to her as he does luigi, so having luigi kidnapped instead is just higher stakes

b) because having one cool Guy character and one cool Girl character each means this isn't a "boys' movie" but just a "kids' movie (gender neutral)". makes for a greater market. mario isnt a very masculine series to begin with. it's just the right move to get more kids watching it if peach is also cool.

i really liked the animation and sound design. i dont think those are really under critique anywhere. the sometimes over the top sometimes subtle inclusion of classic mario leitmotifs really sold the whole atmosphere, and the use of video game sfx was charming as all get out, even if sometimes using the original game voice clips clashed with the voice acting.

the voice actors obviously tried to emulate the og voices at specific points but (again, german dub) didn't quite match the mark. really more of a "go big or go home" kind of thing. since even in the german versions of the games, the voices are in english, the characters used english phrases occasionally as well, which tracks for guys from brooklyn but feels odd on a woman who hasn't been to earth in 20 years.

the one who hit the og voice best was luigi's VA i think. turns out his german va also did like, every single prince/ken in all of the barbie movies. every single german VA is roles georg. "average VA has 400+ roles" no german VA georg, who has been voice acting since 1980--

the german VAs for mario and luigi dropped the accent as well but i think mario's VA is still better than chris pratt. turns out the guy just always voices any given chris pratt role in any movie for dubs, which is pretty common practice, as far as i can tell (to have a specific VA always dub over a specific actor)

the story i haven't said much on cuz like. what is there to say. it's an adventure movie silly shenigans happen. it was fun. didn't really need to be more. i did like that mario/peach was more hinted at than actually focusing on any romance. like you can tell that's the angle but it's not a big deal ykno? especially with peach so fervently rejecting bowser. they have post credits sequel bait in this so it wouldn't surprise me if it got developed in any future sort of mario movie. if we're adapting mama luigi can we please get daisy. no this isn't because i had a crush on daisy as a child. it's not. i just love her-- ah goddammit.

anyway. yeah. good animation servicable story neat references scattered throughout. it's a good kids adventure movie what else can i say.

I think I realised that I didnt truly like any other characters in om but when thirteen was introduced i was in LOVE..like i like them all individuals and they have their own quirks, and its probably my own depression, but now its meh..and looking back, i think i need to be in mt feels like with Lucifer from othet media they intrest me and i dont know why i cant get that mindset in to OM, and im currently playing Twisted Wonderland and im in love, and when going back i feel the same...also same with Asmodeus a character and demon who i have been intrested in since i was a young teen...its the feels... i dont know if that makes sense.. i feel guilty for actually enjoying nightbringer than the OG, cuz i had so many memories with friends and this whole fandom,

I also love Thirteen, she is just so great. It's like the ultimate goth gf you know what I mean? Her hair, her eyes, her outfit, the way she giggles and gets all those sweet hearts whenever she's gushing about MC to someone... I just want to hug and kiss her.

But listen, I totally understand losing interest in a media that you've been part of for a while. It happens! Sometimes, you just don't get the same feelings from it that you used to get. I definitely get what you mean about needing to have the feels - it's not worth it, otherwise.

I don't know much about Twisted Wonderland, though I have seen people talking about it on here. I downloaded it for like a day but then I realized that there was no actual romance aspect to it. Not that this is bad or anything, but I just don't have a ton of time for games, so I have to be picky about what I play. And I like being able to romance characters lol. Making them blush is my favorite thing. But if it's working for you, then that's all that matters.

Also you should not feel guilty for enjoying Nightbringer more than the OG. I don't think you're alone in that, actually. I personally enjoy them about the same, but I also consider NB to essentially be a sequel of the OG, so they're basically the same game? Just some different mechanics.

I also think there's something to be said for remaining in a fandom after you're no longer interested in the media that fandom is based around. I think it's perfectly fine to enjoy fanart and fanfiction of Obey Me even if you haven't played the game in years. The only thing you might come across is spoilers if you ever considered picking it up again or possibly references to things you haven't experienced story wise. But other than that, I say continue to enjoy it!

I find yuna boring. I find everything surrounding her. The story,taka,lore more interesting....then her herself.

I feel she could have been done better. And be less....annoying and stiff narratively.

And i pray they don't reduce her to love interest either if they ever decide to make a sequel. Bleh.

I dunno maybe it's just i feel she takes over when jin is the main character. She babies taka. And doesn't really get called out for when she does mess up. And when she was,it was just brushed aside.

I get it. War. Bad. Trauma drama llama. Ugh. But holy shit GET TO THE POINT! some areas it drags on and kinda sidelined characters i feel needed waaaaay more development and "screentime"

Anyways. Jin is baby and i still love him. Just sometimes he suffers "main character/protag" syndrome. But it's not his fault.

Other than those few things. And the characters suffering from taking stupid pills at times. The game is absolutely amazing. And i still would play it again and again even with the flaws.

Never tire of this game. It's relaxing,it's one of those games i can zone out to and genuinely immerse myself into.

first off: empires superpowers au by theyesterdayshow. Series, 25 works and counting. jimmy/scott

VERY DARK. Read the tags of each fic very carefully. Here's the summary for the first fic

Jimmy isn’t exactly a hero. He’s never been properly been a hero, never been like Major, or Gem, or any of the more localized heroes in Empire City. He’s not a villain, though—he’s nothing like Xornoth, Major’s nemesis. Jimmy’s more of … he’s more of an antihero, something in between. Nobody particularly likes him, but he's a dangerous enemy, so they just sort of. Leave him alone. That is, until Xornoth, the foremost villain in the country, kidnaps him.

and then really really bad things happen to Jimmy. It's great whump but, also, it has a really cool recovery arc. The author follows Jimmy and Scott after the happy ending, exploring their lives in little one shots and examining the ways they deal with their respective problems and recoveries. Brilliant examination of trauma before, during, and afterwards.

next up: healing is a four letter word by hypno_cat. It has a sequel which is really good, but I can't remember if I finished it (life things may have come up), so I guess I have a fic rec for myself too :p eventual mumbo/grian, but that may have been in the sequel . i dont ship them but in this fic I sure do

Third: nothing but flowers by nho (orphan account). unfinished and will never be finished, heartbreakingly, but it was one of the first hermit fics I read and it's still 44k of Etho watching his friends slowly be driven crazy by evil fungus all around him. mushroom possession!!!!

summary:

Grian is no stranger to pranks, and definitely not to ones that escalate to full out war. As far as he's concerned, the Mycelium Resistance is nothing but that. But his fellow Resistance member, Etho, sees a pattern. He sees the warning signs he wishes he'd been able to confront years ago- and this time, he's determined to not let it go unchallenged.
