Hello! Recently found out about your Ocean Idiots stuff and fell in love with the writing and animatics, was just curious to know, where did you find all the wonderful people you made this stuff with? I've always wanted to do something of the sort for fun but it always fell short

I'll be honest anon I got lucky as hell. My journey on Tumblr/Discord led me to meeting a lot of really rad people, so I guess my advice is to be genuine? Leave nice comments/tags, send asks, join discord servers and be active, etc.

I just wanted to reach out here because i saw you have this blog linked on another account and i also saw you was the one running that ygo server promo'd in tags awhile back? i'll be honest anon i have not been doing so hot.

which is why, i'm not entirely sure what other blog you found this blog on (which is totally fine!) (i have an inkling it might be my rp account but i may be wrong), but there is a good chance i have been dead silent there for months.

to put it mildly, i've been overwhelmed with life. i keep having house issues, there are so many health issues going on between myself and family (i may be looking at gallbladder surgery in the near future, and if not that, i need wisdom teeth removed and i have to find a surgeon that takes my insurance for that still. and that's just me.), house issues, car issues, and work. i love my job. i feel fulfilled at my job. my job is genuinely fun sometimes. however things keep happening (client actions) that genuinely fuck with me. like the guy who keeps getting drunk and harassing my coworkers [but not me? but that puts me in a VERY awkaward situation being hte only staff he'll talk to.]

the amount of stress this has put on me is LARGE. which is why i've basically been silent everywhere besides this account (kuriboo) and the yugioh server. and the yugioh server, i love the people that are there greatly, but if i was not running that server my anxiety might keep me from being active there too.

holiday's been good, though! i took about a week and a half off bc i had pto to use up before losing it at the end of the year (i did work a couple hours on christmas but it was the kind of work that renewed my faith in humanity and gave me christmas cheer), i'm out at my brother's place for a couple more days, i've been spending time with family and things have overall been good this past week and a half, house issues be damned.

all of this to say, i'm positive the account you came to kuriboo from has been basically ghosted by me and i feel so bad and i'm very sorry. i've been so overwhelmed that my anxiety won't let me do a lot of things.

The yugioh server is still active! Honestly, more active than ever. Which is crazy to me, haha. It's chill most of the time. I host poll tournaments on there (we're currently running a yugioh villain tournament) and sometimes we get a little over the top about the proproganda of who we want to sway votes towards (i think a powerpoint presentation is being created) (the last match [pegasus vs spectre] devolved into bribes and ended as a draw anyway), but that's like, not the usual vibe.

most everyone currently active is very nice and chill though from what i've witnessed. lots of writers in the server, and we have an rp section in the server that's fairly active but extremely casual [currently there is a huge rp thread going on named simple rescue. it's not nearly as simple as the name implies.] i do rp in this server, and we all encourage each other with writing projects and do sprints together and stuff. that's not to say there's no artists. we've gotten more artists recently! and i love seeing everyone's art <3 it's a fun creative place and this server is the only reason i've done any writing in the past six months or so honestly.

but i mean like, you don't gotta be a writer or an artist or an rper to join either. it's perfectly fine not to. genuinely, i think it's a cool place to see some art and fics. or just talk about your favorite yugioh series, or to get into some yugioh analysis or whatever. there's a whole squad of us watching go rush (not simultaneously) and we just talk about how much of a roller coaster it is.

it's a good vibe for me, and i hope it's a good vibe for everyone else!

1. Was your OC inspired by any particular fictional character?

— Vwoop's kind of supposed to have very Maya Fey / Trucy Wright vibes. It'll be your government assigned weirdgirl. It has the range. Its backstory is also inspired by the worst bad-faith reading of the "found family" genre, particularly like, Mandalorian, TLOU + TWD (game). Picking up some Thing and becoming a dad will fix you, prommy. The patriarchy is awesome. You're a strong father and the world wants to take your child away from you. Have fun! (What happens after, when your child-thing can't fix you anymore? Ehhh, well, that probably won't happen...)

3. What genre would your OC do badly in but it would be hilarious or interesting to watch?

— cVwoop deathgame. It would not be very good. It is a fighter except even with all the horrors it's had it still doesn't quite understand the concept of to kill or be killed. It knows that killing is Rude. It's kind of like a vague threat alluding to real death, but is mostly a slap on the wrist and a way to move you — you will respawn somewhere that Isn't Here. Killing is rude, and people don't like to talk about real death, and it can't quite conceptualize Real Death (and doesn't believe it for where it is, since it lives in KeepInv servers), especially not for itself and is very wishy-washy about its feelings. So... well. It would not go over super well in a death game!

4. What media does your character like?

— cVwoop is canonically a DSMP viewer. It's a Ranboo stan. It carries around a Ranboo plush sometimes, and its actually like. Incredibly relevant, unfortunately, as an in-character story that it tries to apply its own life to (especially in backstory stuff -- Ranboo is like Imagery for it.)

It also reads other books. Nondescript books. I think it has the possibility to Have Read In The Past anything regarding MCYT as like journals or essays or newspapers and The Like. It knows what a speedrunner is. As well as just... actual books. It makes references.

It also has a Gameboy Advance. It can play any game that's funny (except for Pokemon. It can't know what Pokemon is). I think its default is the Sonic Advance + Sonic Pinball Party combo pack. Specifically. I tried to find a good game for it to play and got stuck playing Sonic Pinball Party for like a week one time so I think it's just mindless fun enough for cVwoop.

Blooming Panic is a dating sim/VN set in the discord for a fictional webnovel and I LOVED IT

I just think it absolutely nailed the discord-flavour writing. Most of the game is chats in server, and fights and emotes and flailing, with multiple channels and chill background music and it's great? it really works?? I feel like it's unfair I did not make real friends playing this game, I spent all this time chatting with them??? it also has a 'pause' button even though obviously the game won't progress until you input your option and it's such a great button, real discord stresses me out with the onslaught of messages but in the game if you want more time to catchup and read while 'people' are 'typing' you can cause it's so good they've made a great engine

it is definitely an otome game! I changed up my pronouns between runs because y'know sometimes you're vibing different ways, but if you go for a he/him then you are roleplaying a very soft boi indeed. The MC types how I type (so validated to get 'Ye!!' as a dialogue option) but is not how I would project for a male char lmao. these dudes are also all head-over-heels in about 7 days which is a lil quick for me but Otherwise cannot complain

I also found all the bad ends dark in a very realistic way - if you have ever seen anyone spiral online, it feels very real in a way that's both super well-written and also very sad - I found them very memorable and fleshed out for the characters (it's also still funny to me that after getting the good ending you always go back and start gaslighting these nice men who are so welcoming to you by suddenly being rude, mean and disinterested, to get the other route lmao)

anyway it took me about 6 hours to 100% it, but there's so much work and love in this game (lots of text of the fake novel! fanart! a whole zine gets built! there's voice acting and nice pics and a CONVENIENT GALLERY for ALL the pics I'm howling honestly)

On Jealousy

We have quite a number of moments in our journey with Gavin... Some are funny, some are cute, some are...mmm over the edge

If you ask me whether Gavin is a jealous man, I would give you two answers:

1) Pre and early relationship... Absolutely!

2) Established relationship... The fitting colloquial term is "territorial".

In order to look at Gavin's attitude towards other males and whether to categorize them as jealous behaviour or not, first we need to describe jealousy .

Jealousy generally refers to the thoughts or feelings of insecurity, fear, and concern over a relative lack of possessions or safety.

The word stems from the French jalousie, formed from jaloux (jealous), and further from Low Latin zelosus (full of zeal), in turn from the Greek word ζήλος (zēlos), sometimes "jealousy", but more often in a positive sense "emulation, ardour, zeal" (with a root connoting "to boil, ferment"; or "yeast").

As you can see, there are different set of emotions that might boil or ferment the reaction of jealousy in one's belly.

My personal take on this is that jealousy arises from two simple things 1) Lack of self-confidence 2) Lack of trust towards one's partner (in terms of romantic jealousy). You don't get jealous when you know you're one hell-of-a-mate and are with the right person. Which is why as we will see in a minute Gavin fits the bill at the beginning but afterwards his jealousy isn't actually jealousy at all!

So which sets of emotions lead to his jealous behaviour and in which conjuncture?

We know that Gavin is completely attuned to MC. This also applies for his reaction towards the presence of other guys around her. So the type of jealousy he displays is attuned to MCs type of reaction to the source of his jealousy. He observes MCs aura and attitude carefully and then reacts in an either desirous, protective, territorial or downright pouty manner.

If he sees the person is overstepping their boundaries like TNTs Tyson or the guys catcalling her during Romantic Date, he gets protective. If he sees someone from his inner cycle being only the slightest overfamiliar with MC as in his phone call with Eli, he gets territorial and draws boundaries. If he gets ditched by MC and walks on her having lunch with another guy all the while she's being touched by him and she's not showing any protest, he pouts in the corner and stabs MC with his words "Too much of anything can get boring after a while" (love this moment and how Joe delivers this line with a strong tonation on the word - boooring-)

If he sees the person is actually drawing MCs attention, well... This is where we can look more into. Because this is actually a stereotypical example of making one jealous. Seeing your love interest with another person in an over-friendly manner.

In Trio Date, he worries that MC might have a crush on Kiro and a close relationship with him. Which is understandably an alarming situation for him, because he isn't that close to her himself and Kiro is... well... Kiro. Pretty much everyone's into him 🌟. But Gavin doesn't show any aggression or envy towards Kiro. On the contrary, he praises him for his charm and even says that he can see what people mean by that as in confessing to being charmed by Kiro himself. I really praise how elegant Gavin acts in the face of this situation 👑 Needless to say, it's a Gavin date, meaning the canon couple in this scenario is Gavin x MC (On a side note pretty bold and disrespectful of PG to put another LI in the supporting male role in a date for another tbh) And also RIP Chandler, the poor guy didn't do anything wrong ^_^

At this point I need to let one thing out of my chest though. I can't say that I appreciate him telling MC when and where to wear revealing clothes <spoiler alert> only for him. Even though we don't actually see him seriously forbidding her to wear them I think it would be better to leave her be the judge of it. But considering the fact that she gets catcalled even at his presence I can kinda see why Gavin gets protective here. On a side note, his girlfriend isn't better on this matter either. MC covers Gavin's body at the beach during 2021 summer event in CN server so that other girls don't drool over him 🤣 These two have some homework to do in that department I tell you that 😅

In the more mature phases of their relationship, we no longer see Gavin feeling himself threatened by the presence of another male. AT ALL! All Gavin jealousy after this point is only because someone is overstepping their boundaries and making "his girl" uncomfortable.

Gavin might be the one acting jealous the most frequently among the LIs, but he never ever gets possessive over her, limits her freedom or makes unconfirmed self proclaims on behalf of her. Being possessive over someone objectifies them and the moment you objectify a person, you no longer need to be in a relationship with them tbh. Leaving your partner room to breathe and respecting their personal space is important and Gavin does this the best alongside with Kiro. We also never see Kiro getting possessive, limiting or doing anything of that nature with MC.

Further in their relationship Gavin still acts jealous, but in an extremely cute, pure and harmless way. Be it against prankster ghosts, animals she's met in the middle of the desert, a wild child, service dogs, birds and co. Basically anyone and anything that diverts her attention from him for more than a nanosecond can be perceived as a threat but an adult male 😂At his core, Gav-babe wants MC all for himself but his jealousy is actually only adorkable.

In the main story, however, there is a certain LI which becomes the magnet for Gavin's firsthand jealousy and even kinda provokes this. And this is actually what I am dying to write about in this post😈. It only happens at the beginning of the story, but I love it so much and therefore it must be in this post.

Gavin shows signs of jealousy towards one particular LI at various occasions and that is...

Gavin shows obvious signs of jealousy towards our genius scientist and that is completely understandable! Lucien is the one who makes his advances first and is the most straightforward one throughout the main story. Plus, he lives right next to MC and, let's be honest here, is the only one who toys with MC's poor hormones the most. Just to give one example:

Gavin and MC don't become quite a couple before CH12 and S1 Gavin has some issues with self-worth and confidence (towards MC). When he meets MC again after 6 years, he is perplexed and is fairly clueless as to how to approach her romantically. Lest Gavin making the wrong moves, he acts weirdly around MC which further confuses her. Gav-babe is really weird at the beginning of the story 😅

The first time we see Gavin getting jealous about Lucien is in CH2, when he and MC spend a prolonged period of time for the first time as they investigate the time warping incident. Our birdcop is hopelessly in love with MC so when he sees her become so red on the phone with another person, he gets worked up.

The second instance is when MC spends two nights in a row with Lucien in CH5 and then falls asleep in her office.

It is crucial to remember at this point that up to CH5, MC seems to be most romantically involved with Lucien and spends most of her time with him. LuLu mercilessly teasing her and flirting with her doesn't help much in that sense either because he is actively making advances on her. Thus announcing his candidacy for "Mr. Love". So when Gavin catches MC spending nights following Lucien, having phone calls with him, living right next door to him, working closely with him and blushes because of him, it's fairly understandable that our birdcop gets fairly jealous because at that point in the story Lucien seems to have a better shot at love with her than he does.

Btw, MC flatlines on his question as to who is the resource of her flustering this time around and doesn't explain herself ;)

Interestingly though, in the third instance, where Gavin sees MC and Lucien, he isn't jealous at all! In the famous "Rude Awakening" moment, the vibes we get at first is as if Gavin walks in to MC and Lucien. But actually our protective boyfriend is there to save MCs life. What's more, he doesn't give credit to Lucien's provocations, such as when he calls Gavin "dangerous" or pulls MC behind him, stays extremely close to her and plays the "protective boyfriend" in front of him. On Gavin's defense, the one actually saves MCs life and protects her is Gavin here as he deflects the bullet shot at her.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Furthermore, he asks Lucien to take MC home, albeit not before telling her that he will be contacting her later, signaling to Lucien that he shouldn't stick along for long. A highly subtle way of "marking his territory", much like a wolf would. God I love this scene both in the main story and in the anime.

It is necessary to mention at this point that the chapter following this scene revolves around Gavin and MC clearing all kinds of misunderstandings between them and MC trying to bind with him. Hence laying the first stones in the temple of their relationship. After that point we no longer see Gavin showing any kind of jealousy towards anyone. So mark CH7 people ;)

Honestly? This could’ve turned out a whole lot worse.

Really, it all started with the invitation. He knew Dream decently well and they had mutual respect. Why would Purpled not check out his server? Especially when people were making content and making connections there.

Personal and some business. Win-win.

He accepted the invite to the SMP and intended to make an impact. Built a super cool base, got decently stacked, tamed some dogs. He even got to make some friends.

So what if he was a bit out of the loop sometimes. He’d show up to back up his friends when they needed it. He’d stand up to anyone trying to trick him or make him the butt of their joke. He’d be a good samaritan and help people out from time to time. He didn’t need much more than a thank you and some iron.

It’s also just easier to “borrow” things if he doesn’t come to mind easily.

Sure, missing huge events sucks.

He leaves the server for one (1) day to have lunch with some friends and his communicator is blowing up with the SMP’s open chat and VCs.

By the time he makes it back, the fighting’s being settled with a duel before anyone even tells him what the stakes are. It’s frustrating to have his dms and voice call attempts ignored in the aftermath, but he gets it. It’s fine.

It’s also fine when he finds out about the new country and they don’t let him join. Being neutral’s suited him so far and even if the thought was nice, he’s only on speaking terms with like three people there. It’d be awkward and he’d rather not insist on that.

So he flies solo for a bit. Just his dogs, sometimes Ponk, and his bedwars squad.

He builds, he mines, he breaks beds. Life goes on.

Then he gets another invitation. Hand-written by Tubbo.

There’s a festival. And honestly he wasn’t expecting to even be invited. Things were sort of tense between everyone else at the moment, he wasn’t sure if he should even show up to a large event in unfamiliar territory.

Fuck it, he has pearls. Tubbo’s giving a speech and it’s been forever since they’ve talked. Maybe they’ll have some time to catch up before spats inevitably break out and emotions boil over. Then he can pearl out and check off his monthly human interaction quota.

A safe plan that goes not at all to plan.

Tubbo walls off to talk to someone away from everyone else. Schlatt pulls the twist of a lifetime. Technoblade was apparently on this server and killed Tubbo in front of everyone.

At least the speech was nice. He’d tell Tubbo that if he hadn’t just gone into auto pilot and killed Tommy because someone yelled to.

He, he should probably get home. Dogchamp was still waiting for him.

Yeah, he’ll do that.

It’s odd.

After this long doing mindless busy work on the server and grinding bedwars, he’s almost in shock when someone turns up on his cabin doorstep.

Karl, apparently. He’s asking if Purpled would like to help Dream and Schlatt defend Manberg. Offers up a shield.

And Purpled’s indecisive about it.

He takes the shield, accepts and promises he’ll be ready. But then turns around and starts wondering who he should be loyal to.

He’s been neutral this whole time. It would’ve been so easy to just turn Karl down and bite back if they tried to force him to help them.

But he hasn’t seen anyone on this server in ages. Hasn’t sat down and had a chat for even longer. What did Manberg stand for? Why was it being attacked? Who did he just ally with? Who would he be fighting?

He has no details and Karl and Schlatt have offered him none. Dream’s dm to stay away from Manberg is pretty pointless now, considering he’s already signed up for whatever this is.

It takes him until after the first shots are fired, but he’s made his choice.

He sides with L’Manberg’s people and hopes it doesn’t bite him.

It’s a win until it isn’t. He’s glad his pearl reflexes are still up to snuff, otherwise he would’ve been done for for sure.

He witnesses a murder and says nothing about it. Kills a wither and pockets its star. Watched Technoblade threaten some children.

Maybe it’d be best to stay away from anything government-related for the time being.

New era, new home!

He’s got a really cool base idea in mind and he’s tested out the basics of the redstone on a pocket single-player world.

He terraforms, builds, and adjusts things until the sun goes down. And even then he keeps busy.

Farming, building, bedwars. He hasn’t seen anyone in a while-

There’s a dirt platform.

There’s an ugly fucking dirt platform that’s right over his cove. And apparently it’s a whole other country right over his home.

He wonders if it’d be worth calling up those anarchists in the woods about it.

He decides to just leave and hope it goes away.

He spends a lot of time away after that. Recharges in the company of friends and even takes a break from the grind too. It’s just him in Hypixel Housing with his dogs having a little vacation.

He comes back to the server with a lot of energy and a need to use it.

Calls up Ponk about a new business venture.

Real estate.

During his time away he had plenty of time to think about the server and distance himself from it to do so.

People value their stuff so much.

Their pets, their disks, their builds. They well and truly care about them all.

One thing they don’t really care about is the land.

It gets blown up by creepers and burnt out ex-politicians. It’s fought over, sure, but so was a goddamn cow. People will take any excuse for violence on this server.

But the point is that land claims are very valuable and very subjective. No one’s writing up deeds by the coordinate, and he and Ponk will take advantage of that.

It could’ve gone worse.

They technically won that duel. Antfrost owes them iron now. Scam successful.

But it raised a lot of issues.

How are they going to handle people who they can’t overpower? Can they use the law angle without getting targeted by Technoblade? How big do they want this scheme to get? How are they going to sustain it?

There are so many complications he didn’t think about before going into it. He doesn’t regret any of it, but damn he wishes he’d planned for contingencies.

Like what to do when Ant’s ally, BadBoyHalo, comes walking up to him and asks if he’d like to see something cool.

He wants to say no. He is probably going to be lured into a room and spawn trapped by the Badlands until he agrees that Ant doesn’t owe anything.

Or maybe he watches too many movies.

Regardless, Bad is over a foot taller than him and hunts Dream down on the side for fun and the content. Purpled is not in a position to resist, PvP experience means jack shit right now.

So he follows Bad to the spawner and down some more stairs.

There are places on the server where no one goes or walks by. They can plant more there and let it run as wild as it pleases.

Worst is honestly when they just leave the server or change their blog without saying anything, like wow. Okay, I get it, jeez. Didn’t have to be rude about it.

Awesamdude - Negative relationship - basically, he let Quackity get away with putting Techno away, let Tommy die and get revived by Dream and then never apologised, and then let ghostbur die and... wtf - Yeah we aren't friends. In another universe, if he weren't the warden, we might get along.

BadBoyHalo - He kinda gives me bad vibes - After the egg stuff I just don't really like to be around him... he killed Foolish and tried to kill everyone at the banquet which I just don't vibe with - I kinda understand why he joined the egg. I mean he was there for Skeppy which I think is ok, but he really went off the deep end. If he redeems himself, I'll be the first to befriend him (cautiously)

Callahan - Alright I taught him some American Sign Language for basic communication - I go and hang out with him whenever I feel like there's too much angst on the server, he's so neutral it's honestly relaxing.

Captain Puffy - We don't know each other very well - I mean I agree with her when it comes to the egg and she seems nice but it's hard to be friends with her when her son is Dream... poor Foolish, though.

Connor - I don't know how to feel about him - I don't have anything against him but... he just seems like someone I wouldn't get along with so I don't hang out with him. He is kinda funny tho

Foolish - Little bit scary ngl - Lightning go brrrrrr - I feel really bad for him since he's gotta be related to Dream and he died during the egg shit. That's just cruel. - also I don't really vibe with his personality but I do like to talk to him about his building ventures since I also love to build

Fundy - I feel sooooo bad for him - He's super cute, super sweet, and he just deserves more love - I plant sweet berries around his house to brighten his day whenever I can and I also feed his fox - I love to talk to him and he teaches me dutch sometimes because it's an interesting language. Also, he just deserves a good role model in his life... Like Will kinda sucked as his dad, Schlatt was not a good role model, and his friends don't really care about him. :( - Um also (IRL) he's the reason I started watching the DSMP, I love coding and Dutch so it was a very good mix for me

Philza - DADZA - I get in trouble with him a lot oof, I like to troll people so it happens quite a bit. Also, I take the blame for a lot of the stuff Techno and I get up to as well as with the bench trio. - He taught me how to sew and crochet so I can make my own clothes. I also build with him whenever he asks for help

Quackity - Scared. - He's rude and evil and I dislike him... gambling bad - I like Charlie and I think he's a good influence on Quackity but tbh I feel the same as Techno in this scenario. I am not a Quackity apologist!

Ranboo - I have the same vibe as him. We are one and the same. - I keep an eye on him during his enderwalks, he worries me sometimes. - Out of everyone in the bench trio, we get along the best. I take care of Michael sometimes when he's out doing Snowchester stuff with Tubbo.

Sapnap - I mean I dislike him a little, he throws off my vibe. - He's on the wrong side of everything imo, just stop being weird, big man... - Also I mean I don't understand why he threatened Dream with torture if he ever escaped. Like you don't have to tell him that, just do it? - We have very similar voices (IRL oh no) and so I'll mess with people by doing my best impression of him

Skeppy - One of the many victims of my trolling (with techno usually) - He's fun to hang out with for a while but I can't handle being around him for too long, he gives me a headache - Sometimes I wonder if he's actually made out of diamonds... should I kill him and see what happens?

Charlie (Slimecicle) - BEST BOY I LOVE HIM - HE'S SO CUTE DAP ME UP - Honestly, we get along soooo well, he reminds me of a slime for some reason, hmmmmmmmm - I try to teach him human-ness because if he doesn't want to look like a slime then there's no reason for me to say no

Technoblade - Ah yes the best one on the SMP - He did not like me at first, I can be a bit annoying oh no - Eventually, he got a soft spot for me since we have the same sense of humour and I love to mess with people - I sympathise with him, he deserves so much more than he's getting. - I wish he didn't express his emotions as anger all the time since it really affects everyone. He's got some anger issues and I try to deal with them with him.

TommyInnit - Omg I still find him annoying but I love to hang out with him like Wilbur does. - He needs to learn some boundaries but he is still a kid, so it doesn't really matter. I think people have to stop being little shits to him since his brain hasn't fully formed, like all adolescents. - He's very sweet sometimes and I appreciate his assistance in a lot of random tasks

Tubbo - I am allergic to bees so we can't hang too much - I like to chill with him and Ranboo and sometimes him and Tommy, but I'm always telling Tommy off for being a little shit to Tubbo. - I do not approve of his governmental ways, but his heart is in the right place. Also, why do you have nukes?

Wilbur Soot - Too much government, I do not approve - not a good father - Eventually, he stopped governmenting so whatever, no more animosity from me, eh?

Ghostbur - Awww he gave me blue - how dare he die twice - I love friend, I walked him sometimes. So glad he has infinite canon lives - I wish he had more time on the SMP, he's super sweet and his vibe is amazing

Revivebur - Alright he's kinda cool, I like his hair. - He doesn't have any governmental plans thank god - He's a bit worrying but he hasn't done anything yet. I'll just keep my eyes on him.

Just some thoughts that have been floating about my mind regarding people interacting with each other in a fandom space.  Particularly about interacting with headcanons and theories because for the most part, this blog kinda started out as a headcanon/theories blog for Star Fox and now it’s kind of still that but also just like... general Star Fox stuff and a place where I post fic stuff.

Sometimes, I see headcanons and theories that are good.  They are legitimately great theories, great headcanons, and have a lot of love and thought put into them. The theories and headcanons are solid, they do act to enhance the source material in a way, and they’re just good.

And yet for some reason I can’t explain?  They don’t really vibe with me.  And that’s... okay.

And I know that’s logical. You’re not going to feel strongly about every single headcanon you see someone post or every single theory. 

But I think sometimes, it’s easy in a fandom space to forget that not every headcanon, fic, art, theory, w/e needs to appeal to you.  And not everyone needs to share your opinion on everything.  And just because someone doesn’t personally adopt a headcanon you post or an opinion you have doesn’t necessarily mean they hate it.  I think though, because our headcanons are sometimes built out of love and a lot of work, that it’s hard to see someone disagreeing or having another opinion as being non-hostile.  

And I honestly think the same opinion applies for discussing Star Fox’s source material as well.  I know there’s two camps that seem to be butting heads with each other on and off throughout the years-- people that want Star Fox to stay a simplistic story with little to no plot and people that want a more story-driven series.  It’s fine to want one or the other.  It’s fine to want a middle ground.  If the simplistic story doesn’t jive with you, then it just doesn’t and there’s nothing wrong with that.  If the simplistic story jives well with you and you don’t like the idea of a plot-heavy SF game, then that’s also fine and there’s nothing wrong with that.  I know that’s kinda “duhhhh” but sometimes I think it needs to be remembered.

This was NOT inspired by anything that’s happened lately in any Discord servers, Tumblr asks, or private chats, btw, I don’t want people to get concerned at all.  I’ve been reviewing interactions I’ve personally had with people over the course of a few years regarding fandom talk and remembering how sometimes I think I may have gone with the grain to avoid a debate.  I tend to be a bit of a people pleaser that way.  And tbh it makes me feel a bit icky that I danced around my own opinion in order to avoid a possible conflict so I want to try doing that as little as possible moving forward.  I’ve said it for awhile on here that I think all of the different fandom ideas are what spark conversation and get people to connect and I feel a bit bad that sometimes I neglected to really put forth my opinion to avoid a debate.  This last year has been full of introspection and that’s something I want to change about myself-- being assertive but in a kind way because being assertive doesn’t have to mean being rude and disagreeing doesn’t have to mean hostility.

tl;dr

Not vibing with something doesn’t mean you hate it.  It just doesn’t click with you and that’s okay.

My Top Ten Anime, a chaotic list

This was so hecking difficult, I’m gonna have to do some ‘honourable mentions’ for ones I can’t bring myself to leave out. This list is based entirely on my personal feelings, not an objective assessment of what are logically the best anime. There also may be mild spoilers at points because I can’t control myself. Doing this in quarantine cause I looove ranting about things I like.

10) Attack On Titan

This was the first anime I ever watched, and it blew my mind a bit tbh. The music is iconic, and the animation is great as well. It might have been a bit harrowing for my first experience with anime, but I absolutely loved the story. It’s set in a world where titans (man eating giants) have driven the dregs of humanity to live within giant stone walls. There’s a group of humans trying to research titans, kill them, and protect humanity, and the main character decides to join them after a titan breaks through one of the walls and his mother is eaten. It’s one of those where you think you know everything and suddenly the world gets turned upside down by a new discovery. All the puzzle pieces start fitting together the longer you watch, and you find out that everything going on is much bigger than what it originally seemed (government conspiracy time lads). The plot twists are unpredictable (for me at least) and devastating, and the emotion this series evokes is awesome - you can FEEL the sheer desperation of the characters, their rage and despair as they fight again and again against a seemingly unending enemy. Despite almost every battle being a suicide mission and despite too many losses, the characters keep going out of the human need to survive and protect. 

10/10 for brutality and gore, but also theme of hope.

9) Naruto

A founding father of anime. Surprisingly not one of the first I watched, in fact it took me a few years to start. It’s set in a feudal Japan where ninjas are the defenders and servers of the people, and different villages have different ninja styles. Naruto is a young boy with a dangerous spirit sealed inside him which has caused him to be shunned by society (even though it’s not his fault??), and he wants to become a ninja. First off I’m a sucker for the Naruto archetype: dumbass, cocky, obnoxious, but kind and loyal too. Years of solitude and ostracisation as a child mean that Naruto desperately wants people to acknowledge him, and he intends to become the Hokage to prove himself. There’s a huge range of characters and villains, all with cool ninjutsus and different philosophies. Friendship, power, and determination are some of the main themes and it makes me so proud to see my son *COUGH* Naruto progressing and learning from his mistakes. It IS a long boi though and I haven’t even finished Shippuden yet, but I think Naruto captures the essence of shounen anime and is a great underdog story. Manga is lit too. 

10/10 for cool battles and great characters.

8) Psycho Pass

One of the earlier anime I watched, and it became an instant favourite for the way it makes you question morality. It’s set in a kinda dystopian future Japan, where a technology called the Sibyl System checks people’s mental state and determines their ‘crime coefficient’ - how likely they are to commit a crime. The main character is a young woman who joins the police and begins to realise that blindly following this system is perhaps not the best way to go about things. For example, they have special guns that automatically kill people whose crime coefficients are over a certain level, but she soon proves that you can easily lower someone’s coefficient by talking them down and negotiating instead of killing them off immediately. It’s got great drama, great government conspiracy, compelling villains, and some really badass characters. It pushes the question of what is right or wrong, and how far technology should go when it comes to justice. 

10/10 for sociological debate and horror elements.

7) One Punch Man

OPM is an anime that stands out for me, partially for mocking the tropes of battle anime, and partially for the uniqueness of the main character’s predicament. It’s set in Japan where heroes and villains exist, and the protagonist is a man called Saitama who gained superstrength after doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10K run every day. However he’s become so strong that he can defeat every enemy with a single punch. Nothing is a challenge for him anymore so he becomes depressed and unfulfilled; he’s still a good man who helps people, but he feels he’s missing something from his life. A cyborg called Genos makes Saitama his master, determined to learn his ways and they become friends. It’s one of the first anime that made me laugh out loud; it’s funny and entertaining, but also shows us that power is not equal to happiness. 

10/10 for moral lessons and good jokes.

6) Tanaka-kun is Always Listless

The only slice of life anime on this list and not very well known, however it has a special place in my heart. The main character Tanaka is a boy who dozes off constantly and acts exhausted when awake; he loves expending as little energy as possible. His best friend Ohta looks out for him and essentially makes sure he doesn’t get lost/ be late/die on a daily basis, including carrying him when he just falls asleep sometimes. Although Tanaka seems uncaring, it’s shown that friendship isn’t a bother to him, and he realises that he actually relies on his friends despite saying he likes being left in peace. His friends all have great personalities, my personal faves are a tough gangster girl who’s rude to everyone EXCEPT her adorable loli girlfriend, and a popular girl who’s trying too hard to fit in and starts to become more herself after befriending Tanaka. All the characters share one brain cell, and it’s genuinely a funny anime - I’ve burst out laughing watching it a few times. Also Tanaka and Ohta are extremely shippable if you want to go down that route; it’s said several times in the series that they’re like an old married couple. 

10/10 for wholesomeness and comedy.

5) Ouran High School Host Club

Another lighthearted show, probably the anime that’s made me laugh the most out of any. It’s set at an academy for rich-as-heck kids, and there’s a ‘Host Club’ where all the girls go to drink tea with a group of handsome boys. There’s the cunning Kyouka, prankster identical twins Hikaru and Kaoru, stoic Mori, adorable Honey, and princely but obnoxious Tamaki. Haruhi, a working-class scholarship student who is mistaken for a boy, accidentally breaks a precious vase and is forced by the host club to join them to pay off her debt. The group of boys realise fairly quickly that haruhi is a girl, but she becomes a popular host amongst the girls (LOVE the secret lesbian vibes) so they keep up the charade. I think I have a weakness for groups that share one brain cell because aside from Kyouka, they’re all idiots. I also love how flexible the show is with ideas of gender and sexuality despite being a slightly older anime. The daily antics of the host club combined with their personalities is a recipe for comedy, and they’re all lovable in their own ways. 

10/10 for characters, drama, and comedy; it’s well-paced too.

4) Bungou Stray Dogs

Set in an alternate modern Japan where some people have secret abilities that can be activated, this anime became an obsession when I first watched it. The cast of characters is amazing and the villains are awesome too. Atsushi is an orphan who discovers he can turn into a powerful tiger, and is hired by the Armed Detective Agency, a small organisation of powerful individuals who fight crime. NEED I SAY ANY MORE?? Many of the main characters share names with famous Japanese authors such as Osamu Dazai and Ryūnosuke Akutagawa which is really cool and something that might add to the story more if I had an understanding of Japanese literature. Anyways the main character Atsushi is kind of a wimp at first (understandably because the world of ability-users is actually terrifying), but he learns to stand up for himself and use his ability to save people. The show’s mixing of dark and comedic tones is perfect to me; one moment a character is off his head on mushrooms and the next Atsushi’s leg is brutally sliced off in a back alley fight (it regenerates later no worries). The plot is really cool and full of intrigue, and eventually you get the whole ‘Usually we’re sworn enemies but we’re forced to become allies in the face of a greater evil’ thing and it’s great! Turns out our main guy and our main bad guy are actually a pretty powerful and efficient team, hoho?? 

10/10 for supernatural detectives being super cool.

3) Yuri!!! on Ice

Y’all already know what’s going on. Ice skating, emotional breakthroughs, gay shit, HIT ME WITH IT. The story follows Yuri Katsuki, an insecure figure skater trying to regain his confidence, and his self-appointed coach Viktor Nikiforov. Viktor is enthusiastic in helping Yuri train, and Yuri has been a big fan of Viktor since his childhood *throws pillow across the room*. Yuri becomes determined to, quote, “surpass Viktor’s wildest imagination”, and they end up agreeing - through a series of convoluted events - to get married if Yuri wins gold at the olympics (I think it’s the olympics??). Either fuckin way this series has angst, humour, cuteness, and god DAMN did I get invested. When Yuri was doing his free skate my own heart was beating harder than it did when I finished a 10K. Love the vibes and also it’s the closest to full healthy gay representation that I’ve seen in anime for a while. Not much more I can say, but do I really need to say more???

10/10 for GAY and MY HEART

2) Kimetsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

Ok this one’s kind of a cheat cause I’ve read the manga as well which is way ahead of the anime, but FUCC. It takes place in the Taisho Era in Japan (begins 1912), where Demons exist who eat people. Tanjiro Kamado’s family is killed by a demon one night and his sister Nezuko is turned into a demon - but it is soon discovered she’s different to other demons, and can restrain herself. Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps to try and track down a cure for his sister, while proving that demons are not inherently evil. I LOVE Tanjiro as a main character because he values kindness over everything else, not forgiving demons for their sins but recognising they are tormented creatures, trying to give them peace before they die. All demons were once human - a fact that only Tanjiro seems to remember when fighting them. He’s patient, gentle, and determined - hotheaded and brash sometimes, but he has this vibe that just makes people become his friend/respect him even if they don’t intend to. He befriends two other slayers - Inosuke, an absolutely feral Best Boy who was raised by wild boars, and Zenitsu, a cowardly but ultimately loyal guy. This trio works really well together and Tanjiro is a great protagonist. Don’t even get me STARTED on the music and animation. Impeccable. Kamado Tanjiro No Uta makes me cry every time I hear it, and the water/fire effects used to show the metaphorical way the swords move like the elements takes my breath away.

10/10 for morals, music and animation.

1) Mob Psycho 100

Where the fuck do I start here. This anime is so unique in its style, story, and characters that I think it will always be my favourite. It follows Shigeo Kageyama (nicknamed Mob cause that’s what they call extras and background characters in Japan), a plain boy with incredible psychic powers that explode when his emotions are too high. Over time he’s learned to suppress his emotions, causing him to become socially inept and emotionally withdrawn. His (fake) psychic ‘master’, Reigen, uses him to make money exorcising spirits, making Mob believe that it’s for ‘training’. Mob appears naive at times, but he is so simply kind to people that it makes my heart hurt. Unlike many of the egomaniac psychics that Mob comes across, he recognises that without powers, he is just an ordinary boy. Mob’s greatest power isn’t his OP psychic abilities, but his power to show people they can change, that he can change. He forgives (and eventually befriends) people who have tried to kill him. Redemption and empathy are big themes here and they’re done really well.

The other characters are so well rounded and are also given time to grow, including Reigen - at first he’s a seemingly manipulative sleazebag, but later you see that he is a genuinely good man who has taught Mob many lessons and helped him grow up. This is a core message - Mob’s ability to change is due to support from his friends, not purely his own desire - people need other people!

This is also one of the true rarities in anime where the second season is absolutely just as good (if not better!) than the first one. The music is unique to the show, the ops for both seasons get me litty, the animation is incredible, the jokes are great and although it’s not all about big-ass fights, when we do get a big-ass fight it’s so fucking cool. The fight sequences are beautifully animated and visually stunning. MP100 makes me laugh, cry like an actual baby, and want to become a better person. Idk I could literally write pages on it like the big nerd I am but that’s all I’ll do for now.

10/10 for literally everything.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Given : about a boy who joins a band which helps him work through his trauma. Lovely healthy gay representation and themes of healing.

Samurai Champloo : ragtag trio consisting of two samurai - one lowkey feral and does breakdancing, the other lofty and withdrawn - and a bold young girl. Themes of friendship and journeys. I simp for the lofty samurai.

Cowboy Bebop: jazzy music, bounty hunters in space, 90s anime WHAT MORE COULD U WANT. Yet another group of characters that share a single brain cell. Love it.

A Problem With The Furby Community

Hello everyone before i start i want to address a few things here.If you are mentally ill and unable to resolve conflicts in a respectful and understanding manner you have no place or right to be an admin of a group.I hope you get help and become a better person whatever anyone is going threw right now i know you can be well again.You can do it.But that does not give anyone an excuse to be toxic and rude towards others.

I have been accused of being a scammer and its been effecting me so negatively lately especially with sales when people slander my name like this.I have memory issues and i had forgotten i had to pay people i even made a post about it today.How i felt bad that i had lost track of people i owed money too ect.I have paid one person already and i am making sure to get everything to everyone who has either bought a furby from me or i have commissioned.A scammer would not take the time to make sure everyone is happy and paid off mind you.

I had actually commissioned Root(maker of the podge furbys) a year ago and i have been more then patient with them.They disappeared without notice in the middle of the commission as well which was very unprofessional.Yesterday  they suddenly canceled and called me a scammer asking me to not contact them anymore.Instead of talking this out they chose to bring up past grudges on me and not even care to listen to anything i had to say on  the matter..Over this post/vent i had made.

With the first part they pretend to act like they care about my current financial struggles but then go on to talk about their disabilities like it over rides me essentially putting themselves on a high horse.After they talk about my “inappropriate demand for my emotional labor at my personal social media”Because i sent them something along the lines of  “Hey can i get some advice on something”In which they responded with a paragraph of how they are physically ill/mentally ill and cannot handle others baggage.I found that be be highly unnecessary and inappropriate myself due to how simple of a question i asked of them.They clearly were trying to guilt me for asking a simple question due to their emotional vulnerability at that moment in time.They could have just said “no thank you i am sure someone closer to you can help” I just thought i could use an opinion so that is why i asked for their help.Lastly i have NO past history of scamming i had a bad time with someone over $15 and they forced paypal to refund them the $15 they were owed from me.That is why i got banned from robotchat and all the furby discords and yes this is very unfair to me.Root acknowledges that they still have a grudge on me and i find it to be a very unhealthy mindset to have especially since i have never done anything to them personally.Also i did have the money to pay them for my commission in full even though it was going to leave me with $10 i wanted to support them as an artist regardless of the mistreatment they handed me in the past.

They did get me blocked from the furby discord over slander against me before BY THIS ONE ADMIN and i had forgiven them.I just wanted to support them as an artist but they did not even attempt to try and talk things threw with me and understand my views they really should not have the right to be an admin with this bias.Also it is NEVER OKAY to use your mental or physical illness as an excuse to be toxic like this.

Sometimes i just feel like no one likes me and i get depressed and distressed sofdshrinere just has a personal and very unhealthy hatred for me.I am a pacifist and i try to forgive but i feel like the only one trying most of the time.This community is suppose to be innocent welcoming of everyone and kind but its really turned on me.

It is unfair that i cannot be apart of any discord because they are ALWAYS one of the admins and they have this bias towards me.

Omg yeah the treatment moderators get is awful. Personally, the place where I modded was overall chill and nice, but sometimes there were some a-holes fr💀. People really think they can treat others like garbage bc of the internet's anonymity (ironic *laughs in anon*), like jeez bro, we just here vibing trying to give you a safe place to be and you're?? Gonna do that??

Moderating isn't sunshine and rainbows and some people should really just have the moderating experience themselves before thinking about being an *ss about a rule that has existed for 3 years.

And let's not even start with the people who just can't read, not all of those people are rude, but MAN it's so easy to just read the rules!!! It's free!!! Don't go coming after me for pointing you to the rules after breaking them.

Also working in a team sucks sometimes, I have seen my share of bad moderators and oh boy some experiences aren't worth it. (Most of the times working in a team is great tho, my biggest online friendgroup consists of fellow ex-mods from that the team I worked with)

Idk why I went off like this, but hopefully this might get some people to think it over before wanting to be a moderator or be an a-hole to one💀

an amazing cook that puts all his passion and love into his dishes. he improvises well too in cases where a mistake or accident rolls around; also touches up or makes changes to a recipe for those that have allergies or certain restrictions on their food intake. you may not know it but the dishes he creates all have beneficiary effects. his servers always tell him if a customer looks stressed or angry or tired, and so chan does his best to make them happy with food (maybe making a light yet energizing dish for those that are tired, or a heartwarming and homey vegetable soup for those that are stressed, the possibilities are endless)!! he especially loves when children come to the restaurant because they’re so small and pure and he’d finally have a chance to use his heart and animal shaped vegetable cutters to put in their dishes. he loves seeing the wide smiles that are on their faces as they point to a certain vegetable and yell out the animal’s name to their parents (wow that’s so soft). chan is always so touched when customers, especially food critics, ask to speak to him; when he gets bombarded with compliments and playful comments like “tell me your recipe!!” he just softly smiles at them and thanks them for enjoying the food he lovingly cooked up. with each compliment, his will to make his customers happy just grows and grows, in which he becomes extremely dedicated to his work. his staff needs to remind him to take a break every so often (aka all the members). people are surprised that he’s so young yet so successful (teamwork makes the dream work).

woojin

position: sous chef

chan’s right hand man!! his preparations and focus is absolutely amazing. chan would ask him for some cut vegetables and woojin would seem like he’s ignoring him but really he’s finishing what he’s doing before he assists chan (his awareness and time management are godlike and woojin never misses a beat). he’s very strict and keeps his work space tidy. he’ll scold felix for eating the frosting as he’s decorating a cake, or bicker at jisung for playing soccer with a ball of cabbage. he’s also super humble!! when he gets praised, he always mentions how he wouldn’t have done it all without his supportive and loving crew. he makes the effort to include and talk about all his members and makes a cute little heart when he’s done, a wide yet shy smile across his face. he gives an extra special thanks to his parents and older brother (who gave him tips on cooking and eventually influenced woojin to pick up the profession!). woojin’s favorite dish he’s made since working at the restaurant was a dish he had come up with the help of the other 8 members; it actually wasn’t a dish but a nine course meal(!!) in which he worked with all of them individually and combined the whole thing into a course and surprised them on their one year anniversary after officially opening the restaurant (they all cried real tears). he doesn’t wanna admit it to the others but jeongin is his favorite and always babies him; he makes dishes during their lunch just for jeongin and himself (the others are butthurt but understand why because it’s a fact that jeongin is a cutie)

minho

position: bartender

his skills are phenomenal. he uses his good looks and his cunning personality to talk to and attract the women (even the men wow, that’s skill right there). this guy, also knows his wines and champagnes, and thus makes astounding drink combos with the chefs’ dishes. he’s actually super funny and is also super humble even though all the girls (and a couple guys) are hitting on him!! he keeps his cool and always averts the attention back to the actual customer to make them flustered like the little flirt he is. he winks a lot just to get a reaction out of the customers that are at the bar. the customers especially like when his hair is slicked back and he just looks like he’s enjoying his job as a bartender, cracking jokes to the people he’s serving and popping peanuts into his mouth (don’t worry, chan makes minho a meal when he goes on his lunch break). since some older gentlemen usually go to the bar, he always prepares a flashy show just to keep them entertained. when he starts making martinis and cocktails though, the loud laughter and surprise from the audience grabs the attention from the other customers. he loves the attention and is always generously tipped from the gentlemen and ladies. the cheeky smile he plasters on his face is killer (he is the definition of if looks could kill). his go-to server is jisung because he laughs at his jokes and actually listens to his lectures on wine and how it isn’t just “nasty old grape juice”.

changbin

position: server 

customers automatically think he’s the stoic server with a major attitude due to RBF*. they are pleasantly surprised when he coolly walks to their table and gives off a nice and enthusiastic vibe, shy smiles directed at each customer and they instantly fall in love because he’s actually the sweetest person ever. he’s the only one that can put up with jisung and his energy, so he was also put on the floor. the pen he uses to take orders was specially ordered by chan and woojin because they thought he was an amazing worker despite the rushes and stress from hopping from table to table, order after order. it’s a blue pen with a munchlax key chain hanging off of the cap (he names it gyu jr). he always tries his best to put out that cool, bad boy image and it works at first but then he just exposes himself one day. a couple that visited often brought their child and changbin was captivated by their cuteness, so he found himself standing a couple feet away just acting cute towards them (doing little things like playing peekaboo and puffing his cheeks, etc) and the baby just laughs and changbin’s heart just bursts. the baby’s parents take notice and smile at changbin but he’s embarrassed he got caught and runs away to get back to serving tables. he got a generous tip that day (and a whole lot of teasing). he often finds himself hanging around felix and jeongin though, learning more about sweets and desserts that he would like to make himself one day!!

hyunjin

position: host

eye-candy for first time customers. he’s super humble though!! many customers compliment him for his good looks but he brushes it off to bring up the amazing seungmin. he’d tell them how playful and funny seungmin was and put an arm over his shoulder and just compliments him more than hyunjin would compliment himself! afterwards, he would pout at seungmin or the other members and complain to chef chan at the end of the day, hurt that they only see him for his looks. he really appreciates those customers that make conversation with him and don’t bring up his visuals but instead compliment his personality, open-mindedness and kindness. he’d blush so much and would cover his face with the menus when he’d pick them up (after the customers ordered of course). he’d rant to his members that the customers were super nice and that he wishes for them to come again! the members are known to hype him up whenever they all gather in the morning for their daily meeting, nudging him and mentioning how cool and handsome he looks in his uniform. he’d laugh and playfully be like “shush” with a wide smile on his face. he’d mess around with jisung sometimes too and they’d both be laughing on the job (only to be scolded by woojin later). jeongin always goes to hyunjin to ask how his desserts tasted and hyunjin would be so honored because jeongin makes the BEST CAKES. hyunjin always saves half of the dessert so seungmin could taste it too! sometimes hyunjin waits until they’re both on break to hang out with jeongin and talk about sweets.

jisung

position: server

he’s very energetic and happy to tend to customers, especially those that he recognizes! his members acknowledge how happy and open he is and thus always encourage him to bring in all the customers and to have them leave with a big smile on their faces. he also cracks jokes and gets along well with literally everyone. he’s a big compliment guy, so he notices every thing; he lets every girl know that their outfit is nice and they have a mental breakdown because wow, someone noticed. and he tells the guys that they’ve got a cool haircut, or if they’re in a suit, that they looks fLY. although he’s super energetic, he often messes up orders and he always feels so bad. he brought out a salad one time when the customer had actually ordered the soup of the day and his eyes just got so wide and his mouth was hanging open. after realizing he had the wrong dish, he’d bow and apologize repeatedly because he was wasting their time. but the customers assured him that he’s alright and that it’s not big deal with wide smiles on their faces because his reaction was super cute. everyone knows he has a big heart and he has definitely come across rude customers that have hurt his feelings but because of his strong will, he put a smile on his face and continued to work with them. he’d rant to hyunjin or minho later with tears in his eyes but minho/hyunjin would not have it and would engulf jisung in a hug and tell him that those customers were just big bullies (chan and woojin were ready to fight). in his free time, he liked getting hyunjin and felix into trouble and would spend some time listening to minho’s and chan’s concerns.

felix

position: pastry chef

he makes some mean desserts ranging from, but not limited to, cakes, breads, truffles, chocolates, puddings, ice creams, you name it! his mother introduced him to baking at a young age and absolutely fell in love!! he loved how he got to lick the spoon when the frosting was done or how his house would smell like vanilla after some intense baking sessions with his dad. during his break, felix would look up recipes and desserts that he could mimic but ultimately make his own, in which jeongin would cheer aloud and push him to do his best. changbin comes around often to spy and felix would always notice, so he’d cut an extra slice of cake or put aside another cupcake for changbin to snack on (jisung is offended for not being included). he goes to chan a lot for advice and pointers as to what he could do to improve his desserts and he always creates the best ones with what chan has to say. one time chan told him to create something cute for once because kids do still pop up in their restaurant and his puppy frosted cupcakes were a hit!! he hangs around the ‘00 line a lot so they get to feast on his desserts first (and of course jeongin, his pastry chef in crime)! felix calls jisung out for being jealous of changbin when jisung is the one that eats most of the dishes felix makes. with a stuffed mouth jisung opens his mouth to say something but can’t think of anything so he just shuts it and continues to stuff his face. felix matter-of-fairly nods and scolds jisung playfully and then they all start joking around and laughing. his work is actually super diversified and he takes much pride in all of his creations.

seungmin

position: host

he’s super super super playful and welcoming, thus being one of the first staff members to be seen by the customers. all of the members’ hype man!!! seungmin is so positive and livens up the restaurant with his jokes, random singing and of course his bright smile!! customers are always flustered by his energetic self but are always so happy to be able to be greeted so excitedly by someone(??). it makes their day and they’re all smiles when seungmin is leading them to their table. once he seats them, he starts them off with drinks and asks them questions to get to know them better. once seungmin introduces who their server is, he bows slightly and smiles one last time at them and tells them to have a great meal and to come again, and he walks away after a small wave. everyone’s just so happy to see him. on their yelp profile, most of the reviews talk about the tall, smiley boy that sometimes sings to his customers and is always so energetic. when all the members read over the reviews together and see those comments, chan reaches over to ruffle seungmin’s hair and everyone’s screaming and teasing him saying “sing to me too seungminnie!!”. like hyunjin, he’d quietly tell them to shush as he smiles at the floor, his cheeks burning pink. he’s another child enthusiast and is always so happy to see them!! when he sees one come in with their parents, he’s bent over talking to them and the child’s parents are just so touched to see their child laughing and smiling. he always gives them a high five when he leaves to tend to other guests.

jeongin

position: pastry chef

him and felix are the DREAM TEAM. if you want cute, you got it. sophisticated? he’s got you covered. a small and light dish? coming right up. jeongin is the literal king of cute (his hyungs think so too)!! if you think about it, cute and desserts go very well together and that is why jeongin’s strong point is being a pastry chef. he’s not just limited to cutesy designs and dishes though, his desserts are extravagant and are so sweet and delicious (almost as sweet as jeongin himself). honestly there could be so much going on with one of his dishes but it’ll work out and mesh in all the right ways and the customers love it!! he is very passionate about the art of desserts and is harsh on himself if nothing is in the right place or if the taste just isn’t good enough. as the youngest of the group, the other members swarm around him after hearing his thoughts and just bombard him with hugs and reassuring comments. when they see the dessert he rejected, they stuff their mouths with it and actually die from how delicious and amazing it was. changbin and jisung would scream “JEONGIN WHAT DO YOU MEAN, THIS CAKE IS AS SWEET AS YOU”, and jeongin would be so embarrassed but would laugh and appreciate his hyungs attempts at cheering him up (in which it does and he’s back to his cute and motivated self). as much as jeongin is the sweetest child, he likes to prank jisung and chan a lot with his “homemade recipes”. one time, he put small pieces of octopus in his amazing carrot cake and gave it to chan and jisung to test out. jisung’s face turned from “oh yeaaaah!!” to “what. am. i. eating.” in .03 seconds. chan didn’t have the heart to say anything so he finished the bite he took and just nodded his head with a forced smile and a thumbs up. to this day jeongin has never told them and he laughs whenever he thinks back to that time.
