The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has dismissed the criminal complaint filed by ACT Party-list Representative France Castro against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Duterte is facing a complaint for Grave Threat under Article 282 of the Revised Penal Code and Section 6 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

It stemmed from his statements during a television program at Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) where he talked about the confidential fund of his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte.

In his Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa Program at SMNI that aired October 11, 2023, Duterte was quoted: “I told Inday (Sara) to be direct, tell them that the intelligence fund is meant to prepare the minds of the Filipinos, to address the insurgency that is taking a long time to end. And the ROTC so that we are prepared for war, especially in this situation, if we do not have soldiers, then we will have the youth who can take care of their respective barangays,” he explained.

“But your first target there, using your intelligence funds, is you, France [Castro], you communists who I want to kill. I asked her to tell them that, but she refused, saying, ‘You know Pa, if I did that, they might harass the PMTs (Philippine Military Training institutions),’” he added.

“Besides, the Office finds it quite unusual, if not ridiculous, for a person to make a public pronouncement of death threats or perpetuate threatening remarks, utterances, or statements if he is that serious and deliberate enough in actualizing or effectuating such threats conceived in his mind,” the resolution further stated.

Headcanon for Sonny meeting reader’s family for the first time on a long weekend away?

So, I’ve imagined this scenario, multiple times with different types of families, so I’ve tried to keep it somewhat vague!!! Enjoy some sonshine!

-He’s nervous. 

-Oh. . . he’s so nervous. 

-You’ve met his family numerous times by this point, but yours lives out of state, and with his schedule it takes some planning to get there.

-His mother loads him down with homemade baked goods, and checks the clothes he’s packed to make sure he’s going to make a good impression. 

-”She’s good for you Dominick, and you’re good for her. Show them that.” 

-His leg begins bouncing when you’re about an hour away, and his fingers start tapping on the steering wheel. 

-You are silently amused, because meeting his family had been no picnic. You’d been pulled in a million different directions from the time you got there, till the time Sonny finally guided you home. 

-You slept for twelve hours after that. 

-His back goes ramrod straight when he meets your parents. 

-He introduces himself as Carisi Dominick.

-And you burst out laughing. 

-So do your parents for that matter. 

-”Just call him Sonny. No one else does, and it’ll make him happy.” 

-They do. 

-He insists on sleeping in a separate room, and he’ll barely kiss you in front of your family. 

-Your poor Catholic school boy. 

-He answers numerous questions about his job, and night school, and his choice to get a law degree. 

-Then there are the questions about his family. 

-He loosens up a bit as the weekend goes on; an arm around your waist or around your shoulders. He holds your hand a lot. 

-He makes a really great first impression. 

-However, you’re the one who has to drive home because he’s stressed himself out so bad. 

-When you get home you both decide to take a break from family visits for a while. 

-You want to spend some time just the two of you.

-His parents show up with groceries ten minutes later, unannounced to see how things went and make you dinner.

A Little Lesson in Light: Chapter Two

          “Yes, Mike. It’s time. Well, no. No, not this exact instant. But soon. Yes. You need to hurry. I know but… yes. See what you can do to make that happen.”

           Ending the call, Natalia paced the waiting room. Ashtonja sat with the twins, Hazel narrowing her eyes at every doctor, nurse, and orderly that passed by while Holly nibbled her little nails.

           “Mami?”

           Glancing down, Natalia saw Violetta, felt her tugging at the hem of her skirt.

           “Yes, sweet pea?” she asked as she scooped the girl up into her arms.

           “Will the baby really be born in time for Christmas?”

           Natalia started to answer but suddenly stopped herself short. Despite her own firstborn’s somewhat rapid arrival, she knew all too well that Maggie’s boy could take some time before making his grand entrance on the world’s stage. Still, it was barely afternoon on Christmas Eve. And by the time night rolled around…

           “I hope so, sweet pea,” Natalia finally replied. “Wouldn’t that just be the best present ever?”

           “Yes,” Violetta stated. “It would be nice…”

           The little girl’s voice trailed off, and Natalia could sense her wanting to say something else and waited for the rest of her words.

           “But?” Natalia prompted.      

           “Well, as much as I want a cousin, I also want the book with the lock and key.”

           Only recently Violetta had gotten it into her head that she simply had to have a diary, preferably one with a unicorn adorning the cover so that she could record her most private musings… and keep the thoughts away from her younger sisters’ ever-prying eyes.

           “Something tells me Santa can manage that and a bouncing baby boy,” Natalia assured her daughter.

           “But doesn’t the stork bring the baby?” Violetta asked. Before Natalia had a chance to respond, she heard the sound of her parents’ voices

           “Natty!” Alessia approached with flowers in hand as Trevor balanced a giant blue teddy bear sporting a yellow bowtie, a plush pal to rival Harold in size.

           “How is she?” Trevor asked. “How’s the baby?”

           “The baby not here yet,” Violetta stressed with a roll of her eyes even as she reached forward to hug her grandparents.

           “Not yet?” Trevor asked. “Is there a problem?”

           “No problem,” Natalia said. “But there is a little thing called labor.”

           “I tried to tell him as much,” Alessia chimed in.

           “But she is fine, right?” Trevor asked.

           “Of course,” Natalia said. “And a little waiting gives Mike a chance to get here.”

           “He’s not here yet?” Trevor asked. “Is he alright?”

           “Just stuck in traffic,” Natalia said.

           “Can’t he just use his siren?” Trevor asked, and Natalia tilted her head to one side. “What? Isn’t that part of his gig?”

           “Lots of people driving to the city from New Jersey on Christmas Eve,” Natalia said. “And it’s not like he suddenly has access to the Batmobile. We can’t all be super spies.”

           The Brit blushed, and Natalia handed Violetta over to her mother as Ashtonja took the flowers.

           “But I’ll call him again,” Natalia continued. She took a few steps away from the others and barely began dialing when she felt a warm hand on her arm.

           “Hey.”

           “Atticus!”

           Forgetting the call for a few seconds, Natalia winded her arms around her husband’s neck and bestowed a quick kiss on his lips.

           “How is she?” Rafael asked.

           “Complained the whole way here,” Natalia said.

           “Why am I not surprised?”

           “She’s the most impatient mommy-to-be that I’ve ever seen.”          

           “Hopefully she won’t have to wait too much longer,” Rafael said.

           “And at least she got the time and place right.”

           “What do you mean?” he asked.

           “Meaning she made it to the hospital and had the good sense not to get the ball rolling right before a wedding reception.”

           Natalia gave her husband a wink, and Rafael sighed as he pulled her closer.

           “Our girls were originals from the start,” he said. “But a hospital birth should be a nice change of pace.”

           “Agreed. Of course, it might take a little rearranging for our Christmas.”

           “Which you know you can do with your hands tied behind your back,” he said.

           “Oh, absolutely. I’ll commandeer the cafeteria for my goose if I have to.”

           “We’re having goose?” he asked. “Did your grocery order get mixed up with Bob Cratchit’s?”

           “Just trying something new, Ebenezer Barba,” she teased, lightly kissing him again when she spied the Chief out of the corner of her eye.

           “Bill!” she called out, greeting him as Liv followed closely behind. “I was just about to call Mike again. He’ll be glad to know you’re here.”

           “Mike?” the Chief asked. “Wait. He’s not here?”

           “He’s coming back from New Jersey with Rollins,” Liv said. “I told you as much.”

           “Maybe we should send an escort to pick him up or something,” the Chief suggested.

           “My point exactly,” Trevor concurred.

           “Hold on a second,” Liv cut in.

           “Why?” Trevor asked.

           “It’s Jersey,” Liv said. “Not Mars. And you both know how this works.”

           “He doesn’t,” Violetta said, hugging her father as she pointed to Trevor. “He thought the baby would be here as soon as he walked in.”

           “I did not think that,” Trevor said.

           “But it could be any time,” the Chief argued. “And if Mike misses it, he---”

           “Guys, guys, guys!” Natalia cried out, waving her hands in the air. “There is still time. Let’s just all calm down.”

           The waiting room quieted, and Natalia squeezed Rafael’s hand before walking down the hallway to check on her sister.

           “What do you mean he’s not here yet?! I need him now. You of all people know that I need my husband.”

           “But Liv says that---”

           “I don’t care!” Maggie practically screamed. “Get him here at once!”

           Knowing this wasn’t the time to argue, Natalia backed away from the room and found Liv.

           “Can Bill call in a favor?” Natalia asked. “Last thing we want is Maggie arrested for a noise complaint on this most happiest of days.”

           With a small smirk, Liv patted her arm.

           “I’ll see what I can do.”

           “I’m here!”

           Dodds practically slid into the waiting room accompanied by Rollins. Carisi and Fin had already arrived, and the sergeant flew past the group before turning on his heel. He looked to the others and finally focused on Natalia.

           “Where is she?” Dodds asked his sister-in-law, wobbling where he stood.

           “Third door on the left,” Natalia said. “But just so you don’t get lost…”

           She started to guide him away when the Chief moved forward and slapped his son’s back.

           “So glad you made it,” he said. “Perks of the shield, right?”

           “Chopper was fast,” Dodds agreed.

           “And it’s not like he got sick or anything,” Rollins said, glaring at the stains on her shoes. As if on cue, Dodds lost what was left of his lunch, causing Holly to screech as Natalia and the Chief tried to steady the sergeant.

           “Kid, you okay?” the Chief nervously asked.

           “On me,” Dodds said. “Told the pilot to go faster.”

           “That he did,” Rollins muttered, retreating to the restroom as Dodds was finally led to his wife’s side.

           “You’re here!” Maggie said, her hands on her belly, her breaths coming a little harder as she met his eyes. “And you… you don’t look so great.”

           “I’m fine, Maggie,” Dodds promised.

           “I don’t think so,” Maggie said. “Is it the flu? Do you need to lie down?”

           “No flu, Maggie,” Natalia said. Jutting her chin towards the Chief, she worked with the older man to bring the sergeant to rest in the narrow bed at the ballerina’s side.

           “Mike?” Maggie whispered, stroking his face.

           “I’m fine,” he said. “Just tried to set a new airspeed record to get to you in time.”

           “That sounds dangerous,” Maggie said. “What if something had happened to you?”

           He swallowed a few times, and Natalia held her breath until Dodds eyes focused on his wife’s, and he cupped her face in his hands.

           “Nothing is happening to any one of us,” he said. “And before the day is out, we’re getting the best Christmas present in all of Manhattan.”

           “Amen,” Maggie murmured, a tranquil wave overtaking her face as she smiled and nuzzled her nose to his.

           “It’ll be nice to have a new member of the family at the table for Christmas dinner,” Carisi said as he brought Rollins a cup of coffee.

           “Tio Sonny?”

           “Yes, Little V?”

           “You do know that the baby will not be able to eat Mami’s food or sit up as soon he’s born, right?”

           Rafael chuckled. To Carisi’s credit, he simply nodded, and the ADA kissed the top of his daughter’s head before beckoning to Natalia so the pair could step aside.

           “You doing okay?” he asked.

           “Yeah.”

           “How long has it been now?”

           “Almost eleven hours,” Natalia said.

           “And is there a happy ending in sight?”

           “Atticus, not you, too!”

           “No, no, no,” Rafael said, lifting her hands to his lips and kissing each one in turn. “Contrary to current popular opinion, the Harvard graduate in me comprehends the biology of the moment.”

           “But?” Natalia asked.

           “The big brother wants his little sister to have her baby in her arms already.”

           Smiling through a soft haze of tears, Natalia hugged him and pressed her lips to his ear.

           “Same here, Atticus. Same here.”

It’s no secret that Let’s-Player Sonny “sonshine” Carisi has been in a relationship for more than a few months. Many of his fans have been theorizing about who he’s dating, the most common guesses being his good friends Amanda Rollins and Nick Amaro, both beauty gurus on YouTube. Following Carisi’s dramatic coming out video, most of the attention has shifted to Amaro. Dedicated fans point out that Amaro has been Carisi’s spokesman in the aftermath of the recent [[hate crime]] and that they spend the night together often.

However, it seems that Amaro is not Carisi’s mystery lover. In Carisi’s first public appearance since his coming out, he was spotted by a fan in a nice restaurant with healthy lifestyle vlogger Peter Stone, the face behind “Stone Fitness”. Stone was among those who came out in the wave that Carisi participated in, stating that he is bisexual like Nick Amaro.

Last night, Carisi and Stone had a steak dinner and shared dessert. Stone greeted fans politely and obliged them in pictures and autographs. Carisi, on the other hand, fled to the bathrooms when approached by a young fan. After a quick apology, Stone followed him and returned with Carisi after a short while. The two were also seen leaving together.

When asked about Carisi’s relationship, Amaro seemingly became upset and asked that people “stay out of [Carisi’s] life. He doesn’t need you in his personal business right now.” Any further attempts at conversation were shut down, until Amaro eventually snapped and said, “I’m not gonna sit here and gossip to you about Sonny’s love life. All that matters is that he feels safe and taken care of right now.” His anger appeared very personal, as if he felt jealousy towards Stone dating his best friend and potential crush.

“Hey babe?” you called softly from where you were sprawled on Sonny’s chest. It was your one year anniversary and the amazing dinner you had had earlier in the evening was being rivaled only by the amazing sex you had just had. The two of you had brought dessert home, too much teasing and bedroom eyes being exchanged over the table in the restaurant, and in a few moments you had a feeling Sonny was going to get up to get it so that you two could enjoy it in bed. You were both sweat damp and even still you couldn’t resist pressing a kiss to Sonny’s slick chest. You shifted slightly and felt a twinge in your hip from where Sonny had held your leg up on his shoulder just a few moments earlier as he thrusted into you.

“Yeah?” he answered as his hand continued its circuit on your back. The sheets were kicked at the base of the bed and tangled up on each other and a shiver went over you as the sweat on your skin cooled. Sonny made a noise in response and leaned down to pull the sheet up over you.

“I have another present for you…”you trailed off as he rearranged you on his chest once more. You could just make out his face and where his brow furrowed.

“You gave me your present—presents—at dinner. And then fifteen minutes ago,” he added with a slight leer and you hit him lightly even as you muffled an amused snort. 

“I have one more. Can I give it to you now or after dessert? I have a feeling it may have you feeling a little inspired for the next round,” you told him as you twisted your mouth on a smirk and bit your bottom lip. Sonny groaned and you felt his hips roll up once before they settled back on the bed.

“You’re going to kill me. Instead of death by chocolate cake it’s going to be death by sex for dessert,” he joked and you laughed even as you stretched your arm out for the small wrapped package in your bedside table. Grasping it you gave it one final satisfied look before placing it gently on his chest. Sonny lifted the hand not around your waist to finger the wrapping lightly. You nudged him to encourage him to open it and he squeezed you between his arms slightly as he reached his other hand to peel off the wrapping paper slowly. You forgot how much Sonny liked to savor the unwrapping and now your nerves were through the ceiling as you tried to anticipate his reaction. Finally unwrapping the book he set the paper to the side and stared at the cover for a long time. You looked at it as well, trying to imagine what he was thinking before you finally broke the silence.

“It’s a book,” you said stating the obvious and rolling your eyes at yourself. “It’s our first year. Three hundred and sixty five days of reflection and of loving you,” you went on to explain slowly and Sonny thumbed the book open gently with one hand as he squeezed your waist with the other. “I wrote something for every day. The good days and the bad days. The sexy stuff and the hard stuff. The real stuff. I was going to get them printed up and bound again, but I thought you may like this instead? It contains all of the energy—the life— of our first year married…”you trailed off uncertainly. You wished you had been sitting up when you did this. You could barely see Sonny’s face from your position and the way he was holding on to your side in a vice like grip kept you from moving much to get a better view. He was still silent, but his breath hitched slightly. You doubt you’d have been able to even hear it if your head wasn’t laying on his chest. He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again.

“…do you not like it? I–should I have made it look fancier? I thought maybe—” you started anxiously before he cut you off.

“I love it,” Sonny said hoarsely, cutting off your anxious ramblings. “I love it,” he repeated fervently and sighed a small sigh of relief. “I can’t believe you…wow. I’m speechless, doll. Truly. Maybe for the first time in my life,” he added the last bit wryly and you huffed out laughter. “This is the best present I’ve ever gotten. I can’t wait to read it…will you, will you read some to me?” he asked around a sniff and you nodded and reached up a hand to brush under his eyes where tears had started to fall. Leaning up you pressed a kiss to his lips, face getting damp from his tears even as he deepened the kiss before releasing you

“Course,” you rasped before clearing your throat as you pulled back.

“Also, I think you were right,” Sonny said slowly as he held the book open to the first page and angled it so that you could begin to read. “Suddenly I’m not craving cake anymore…at least, not the cake that’s in the kitchen,” he added with a curl of arousal in his tone as he grabbed a firm handful of your butt and squeezed once. You laughed again before settling into his side and beginning to read.

“Dearest Sonny, today is the first day of the best adventure of our lives…”
