Reminder that there's only until 19th September to migrate your Mojang account to a Microsoft one for your copy of Minecraft.

Reasons you should do it:

Increased security (option to enable 2-factor authentication)

If you don't migrate, you will lose your private information stored in your Mojang account, which consequently means your Minecraft copy too. You will have to buy a new copy.

It's been two years since the migration started—they can't wait for people forever, and having seen and taken part in these types of migrations first-hand, I get why.

that one post I rb'd earlier about France and laicité and Macron celebrating Chanukah is still making me made just thinking about it. That came in the same week as Masha Gessen being almost stripped of the Hannah Arendt prize because they wrote an essay about Gaza (incidentally, Gessen is Jewish). I'm just really, massively tired of the current climate in Western Europe where political and civil authorities pay lip service to diversity and pluralism but actually actively suppress diverse voices. Case in point, lots of framing Judaism = Israel while actively making life harder for their Jewish communities.

I'm not eloquent enough to word this properly, but it's infuriating to witness. It's not a new attitude by any means, but it's rooted in racism and xenophobia and I hate that it's getting so much fresh mileage lately. I wish more people (& local press) called it out for what it is.

i understand this is meant to be in good faith but thats not true. its using twitter user data and nowhere does it say image generated AI, nor would that be anywhere near legal to do so considering deviantart recently came into extreme legal issues because of trying to pull a similar stunt, and ai art isn't protected by any sort of law because of the fact it steals from other copyrighted works

i'm not leaving twitter and frankly asking me to delete the account that i've built for years and is my largest exposure of potential financial income should i be forced to do that with my art is a really poor suggestion that i sincerely hope you haven't said to any other artist who possibly needs that exposure more

we can live lives filled with peace, love, and relative comfort but it's been decided for us that we can't. we can uncover the secrets of our world and universe, but we only chose to do so when it's profitable.

there are so many amazing, wonderful, beautiful people on this world. so many vibrant cultures, so much love, so many hopes and dreams. but the west takes it all. capitalism takes more than the world can provide, pushes people into poverty and slavery, all so only a few can play with us all as mere toys and have dick waving competitions.
