To be clear, what colonizers did to Native Americans wasn't "attempted" genocide. It was and is genocide. It was only roughly a year and a half ago the US and Canada found mass graves of Native children from assimilationist residential schools. Native women are 3 to 3½ times more likely than other women to be the victims of violent crimes, the violent crimes are more likely to be more severe, and their missing person cases are more likely to be ignored by investigators in both the US and Canada. Downplaying what white people have done to Native Americans as "attempted" genocide is not only deeply uneducated, but fucking disgusting. And to follow that up with declaring he doesn't support land back because he thinks that means kicking out white people is just racist, full stop. Like, it's a literal strawman argument racists made up to justify not supporting land back movements.

So, yeah, dude denied not one, but two genocides in the same day and we shouldn't ever let people forget that.

WELL, now it is much less the case, I do think touken has gotten a lot more acceptance than back in the day. I feel like most people have their individual reasons now for not liking it which is fair. Idc as long as its not some bullshittery lol.

But while the Manga was going, some people viewed touken as abusive and toxic due to Touka's violent outbursts. Kaneki was the uwu poor abuse victim who has never done anything wrong and NEVER hurt her as well 🥺 poor baby innocent man and the oh so mean and horrible woman. Simply, a perspective that lacked a lot of nuance.

And then you have also the people who get so lost in their fanon Interpretation that kaneki is gay and touka a lesbian that they found it homophobic that they got canon. Who think they had no development and are a forced hetero ship.

Also a lot of misogyny towards touka. Called her Hoeka, Thotka, walking vagina. Etc.

I love Kim Kitsuragi as much as anyone else but the way I sometimes see people portray him feels...off. Like that he's not really flawed and is more just a holy figure to Harry. Nah. Nah that's Harry's perception of Kim. We're influenced by like all 24 voices in our head and by how Harry is a dumpster fire compared to Kim. Kim is weird. He's got a very apparent hatred towards pinball to the point where he completely drops his mask of professionalism. He makes weird noises. He chews his pens constantly. He jots literally everything down in nearly illegible handwriting. He shows up to work every day in a pilot cosplay. Imagine being a cop and your partner kept coming in looking like a doctor, lab coat and stethoscope and all, but you can't really get mad since he's pretty good at his job.

Those are just the weird quirks too. Kim is flawed in others ways. One is his Seolite heritage, which he completely rejects because of the incredible prejudice he faces. He's internalized the idea that being a Seolite is something to be ashamed of. He'll be called racial slurs anyways. Maybe if he calls back to his family being here for generations, they'll listen a little more. Respect him. He (I believe unintentionally) denounces his Seolite heritage and views it through the lens of how Revachol sees it. Something to be ashamed of.

Alternatively, I think another apparent flaw is that Kim is very lenient and forgiving with his own team. Obviously if Harry decides to go down the raging fascist route, he puts his foot down and tells him to get his shit together and stop it, but that's at the very end. He's spineless in that regard. If Harry was just some druggie wasting on the streets, Kim would push his glasses up and make a remark about the city and its cruelty to her people and move on. Like look at the situation Harry is in when the game starts!! He's been on a three-day bender terrorizing the locals, threatening to kill himself, and ultimately ended up with amnesia and doesn't remember jackshit. He's done 0 work whatsoever on the case. Kim just kinda lets out an exasperated sigh and goes "oookkayy then..how about we start with getting the dead body that's been rotting in that tree for a week down?"

Something I think people really forget is that Kim is a cop. Kim loves being a cop! He became a cop because it was the only place where he felt he could be respected. He rides on the high of authority and being above others. It of course stems from his internalized feelings of inadequacy and feeling othered by his peers. Now, he's the law. Above them. He's a bastard but because he's next to Harry he looks like a silly little guy who can do no wrong. Most of the time if you pick the ACAB options Kim will have some negative reaction. "Why should we fuck the police? We literally are the police. We work all day and get into danger all the time why are we the bad guys here?" is basically his reasoning. He doesn't see any flaws whatsoever with the system and just kinda goes "Well, they're just unreasonable" if somebody treats them like cops.

People gotta start recognizing Kim as a flawed character. I love him a lot but c'mmmonnnn his flaws are what makes him unique and fun. Yeah he's your anchor in this all, but he's also just as flawed and messy as anyone else.

I don't think any true Eddie fan will have an issue with a Bi/Demi/No Label Eddie, some can just not like Shannon and not be convinced about the Shannon being the love of his life storyline, and read it as comphet instead. We can discuss Shannon like we discuss the issues with any of the other Love Interests.

Like I said earlier, I think most of us are down with any label as long as it ends with him out and buddie together. And we can discuss whatever issues, whatever love interest, but to completely dismiss the idea that Eddie might've been attracted to his wife until the show says with all the words he wasn't is not it. You can have whatever issues with Shannon and their relationship and the whole comphet angle, but to say someone is wrong from thinking about Eddie as bi just because they decided that Eddie is gay is wrong. Eddie has no canon label, we can see him as whatever. And sex was a part of his relationship with Shannon. I'm not crazy for thinking that man might've actually enjoyed having sex with her because he was attracted to her not because of some sense of duty created by comphet. I'm not denying that as a possibility. I'm just saying it's not the only possible interpretation.

Ahhh thank you for sending me this ask I was low key kind of thinking maybe no one would notice if the update was suuupppper late (and by that I mean hopefully tomorrow).

The original plan had been to finish up the chapter yesterday. BUT THEN I managed to give myself a mild case of heatstroke / sun poisoning at the barn yesterday (yay summer) and basically spent most of the day laying on my cold tile floor with my work laptop wishing I was anywhere else. I went to bed at 6:30pm that's how bad it was. And then so today I was playing catch up on all the work stuff I didn't really do yesterday because I was laying on the cold floor wishing I had remembered to drink Gatorade. Which means I have not even looked at the chapter since earlier in the week and it is in fact not finished 😞 BUT I'm actually finally starting to actually feel better (yay!) and the plan is to finish it tomorrow - hopefully before the Oilers / Panthers game. I'm so sorry for the delay, and thank you so much for checking in about the update. I'm so grateful that you're enjoying ATKH and hope you continue to do so. So my short answer,

For the long answer :)

So typically (unless otherwise stated) I just use their actors height cause shits mocapped, of course the character is gonna be the same height as the actor like c'mon

For the actors that don't really have a height just ready and googleable, I just eyeball it based off the ones that Do have heights listed, like Soap (who doesn't) and Ghost, (who does [6'3"]).

Obviously there's a little wiggle room cause cameras and perspectives but holy shit, Soap is NOT 6'2". Helps that Soap's roughly the same height as Graves, and honestly you can read them as 5'9" or 5'10"

Shittily matched up the perspective against the van in the background for Alejandro and Rudy and I'd say Alejandro is between 5'11" and 6'0"

I understand. The attributes lately for the cards have just been crap lately, especially in NB.

I feel the devs did this on purpose though to make battles and progressing more difficult for us. To the point they hope we get desperate to spend real money to try to pull for the cards we need, along with paying for the items we need to power up those cards. Which are hard to power up now in NB since resources are harder to get in game, and skill leveling up is usually locked now unless you're lucky to pull those cards again. Or have enough skill up cards, which again, are often hard to get. :/

And don't get me started on the pity UR+ guarantee cards in Nightmare. They are complete bullshit now. I went through I don't know how many pulls for Asmo's UR bday card last time and never could get it in both games. Now feel a repeat will be happening with this UR card of his I really do want.

But there's no way in hell I can reach over 250 pulls in NB and/or 100 pulls in og OM to just finally get it out of pity. I'll need to spend real money to do that, which I don't have, and I can't see myself throwing over 300 to 500+ dollars in a gacha game just to finally get the card I want...I love Asmo, he means everything to me, but that's a line, I know can't and won't cross for him. (But I'll be lying if I said I wasn't envious of those who are so damn lucky to have such a luxurious life to throw that much money away to get their f/o darling...lol)

So yeah...I will still try to grind for in game vouchers and points for final attempts. But if I don't get that card. This will not only upset me very much again, but get me more pissed off at Solmare for their greedy changes and decisions lately.
