Cleansing and Protection

This post will detail when you should cleanse, ways to cleanse, and the important of cleansing. It will also detail ways to protect yourself and cast protection and why these things are important before engaging in many spiritual activities and rituals.

What is cleansing?

Cleansing is the action of clearing negative energy, entities, or beings from an area, tools, etc.

Why is cleansing important?

Cleansing is important for many reasons.

Within divination cleansing is important to keep your tools accurate and safe from trickster spirits and negative entities/beings.

In other aspects of your life, cleansing is important for feeling good and keeping yourself safe.

What are some ways you can cleanse?

There are many, many ways you can cleanse. I will list and explain a few of the most common ways, but always feel free to research or create your own ways to cleanse.

Candles

Candles are a good way to cleanse for people who don’t have incense or other cleansing items, since candles are a common household item. With candles you will set the intention that a candle is for cleansing/banishment/protection and when you light it, it will help to cleanse your area and your divination tools.

Crystals

Crystals are a wonderful way to cleanse by carrying them around or even just setting them with whatever item you are attempting to cleanse. The vibrations crystals give off cleanse and help to restore positive energy.

Incense

Incense is a common and amazing way to cleanse. with incense cleansing you just light an incense cone or incense stick and let it burn. Lots of times it helps to run divination tools through the smoke, but it is not needed. Incense tends to cleanse a large amount of things at one time considering that the smoke touches lots of objects when incense is burning.

Knocking

One way to cleanse is knocking. This type of cleansing is often used on tarot and oracle decks to easily cleanse between questions to make sure that your deck doesn’t collect lots of negative energy. This is good way for short-term cleansing and often a convenient way to cleanse when you don’t have anything to cleanse with.

Salt

Salt is used to cleanse and protect in many ways. Salt is a substance that you can easily use to cleanse your objects and keep yourself safe.

Sigils

Making cleansing sigils is a good way to cleanse specific items. sigils are generally very easy to make and are a good way to cleanse things that you can cleanse with smoke, knocking, etc.

Sound

Sound is a quick and easy way to cleanse! You can cleanse through certain audios or vibrations or even just music you enjoy that has a positive connotation to you!

What is protection?

Protection is a way to keep away negative energies and beings and to keep you safe and happy!

How can you protect yourself?

Many forms of protection are also forms of cleansing! so look at the list above!

Another way to protect yourself is by making protection sigils or setting wards!

Kara: I'd maybe have understood if she'd scraped it out herself rather than sharing it with me, but she didn't even eat it! She just... washed it up.

Kara: All that lovely cake batter, washed away down the drain like it was nothing. I'm not sure I can ever see her quite the same way after this.

Alex:

Alex: ...you eat the raw cake mix?

Kara: *clutching her heart dramatically* ET TU BRUTE?!

...Um. Super, super late DP Invisobang 2023 art?

The fic by Rockity Sock is still an unpublished WIP so far, but it's really nice and will hopefully be completed and published later.

It begins at the end of the Ultimate Enemy episode, with Dan getting trapped in the thermos. And... I'm not sure how much I can say without spoiling it, but a lot of really cool stuff happens. It's a psychological type of fic, about different types of prisons and punishments, and has time stuff and pocket dimensions, and redemption stuff. (I was only planning on drawing one illustration for IB, but when I saw the WIP, I wanted to see so many things animated. So many awesome visuals. I wish I could've animated them all.)

This is the part I did animate:

He just walked for now, searching for the tiniest crack. The darkness went on for seemingly forever though, and no matter how far he walked it kept on going Dan kept moving He tried his best to break through the walls but every ectoblast he formed fizzled out. Fading into the darkness. Oh, now it makes sense. His powers are being limited, it takes him a few more tries to believe it. The fact that he’s trapped with nothing whatsoever. Endless hours spent, and wasted. Powers he has built up from the ground with no mentor, ones he trained endlessly after a decade. Gone, disappeared, muffled. Limited. Dan let out a laugh, one with no humor. A laugh that turned into a cackle, he couldn’t stop.

I've never bowled, and I'd never Witnessed bowling until 2 weekends ago. Whenever somebody would walk up and wind up their roll I kept getting scared that the ball would shoot backwards out of their hands and into the waiting group, as I myself have done to many miis in my time
