As someone who joined around S3 or Late S2 of the main story, I did notice it.

I can never get people who wants the game to be toned down, like I get some topic and subjects are a bit intense. My questions is... Why you stayed if this game deals with demons and making pacts with demons? If the game is rated 17+ or Mature, why asked to be toned down?

I came to the game knowing that we'll get some dark stuff and then as the years goes by, they started edited dialogues and writing some of the romance too mild or non existent, hell every kissed in this Otome game always be asked and not the moment is right.

I loved when they fade to black meaning that we had Sex with them, But no, the Romance is not there, some of the newer stories are made as if its some kids way of thinking how dating is.

The reason why I rarely talked about OM now and days is because it wasn't the game I joined for. I missed something like S1's Lesson 20 moment with Lucifer, I missed Old Asmodeus or in fact most of the brothers. When they weren't just one note tropes.

this is just kinda an amalgamation of thoughts with no point to it but. i've been thinking about how the show would explain it if they had buck move on to another love interest next season. and idk how to word this correctly but the thought i'm having is like... if the only given explanation for bucktommy being over and the relationship not being the right one for buck is that tommy was his first boyfriend, for me what that's doing is legitimising the "i'm not your last, i'm your first" which was a statement born out of insecurity! to me the point of that should be tommy was wrong. i need him to be proved wrong.

otherwise... so the moral of the story here is that tommy was right and that buck doesn't understand his own feeings? that he mistook the excitement of the "novelty" of having a boyfriend for having real feelings for someone? that tommy was just a starter boyfriend and buck needs to "try out" other people (because his relationships with women don't count, obviously). biphobia? on the show that won't even let buck say the word bisexual? surprise! but not just that, i'm kinda sick of the whole treating buck like he's not an almost 34 year old man and is instead an impulsive teenage boy who we can't possibly take seriously when he says something about how he's feeling.

ALSO we know that abby was buck's most transformative relationship up until tommy. that i don't disagree with, buck said it himself. but i don't think we should look at it as tommy is only his most transformative relationship because he's a man and he made buck realise he liked men. is that part of it? definitely. but i don't think this was comparable to his other relationships in so many ways. Buck was, as he said, just so comfortable with him. he let tommy look after him and was never made to feel guilty about it. he wanted to move in with him, and while perhaps it was impulsive it wasn't like with taylor where he asked her to avoid telling her something else. he even brought up marriage unprompted! whereas the whole idea of getting engaged to taylor weirded him out. i don't want this relationship to be reduced to the fact that tommy was a man or that he helped buck "figure himself out".

personally i would like it to be made clear that tommy said what he said purely because he was scared of getting his heart broken, not because there was any truth to it. i can't have this end with buck going "yeah, guess he was right". the important points are, 1, he's not his first, and 2, it doesn't fucking matter if he was. I'm not even saying he HAS to end up with tommy. do i think he should? yes. do i think it would be a massively wasted opportunity and a stupid decision if not? yes. but the point is that if he decides to move on all of a sudden after holding on to these feelings for so long, i want to be given a better reason it couldn't work out 🤷‍♂️

Hello! I think today I want to share something I do sometimes, which is studying artstyles, character designs, colors and etc, usually because I wanna draw a character a certain way and I need at least a bit of practice to get it. A good while back, I sat down and studied Rayman’s design in the Sparks of Hope DLC, all so I could possibly render Ales in a similar style one day.

Aside from the studies (and picking up the one reference to the Magician in the game itself), I also gathered some references, both old and new, to make a sort of moodboard. While the final work would ultimately be my interpretation of the character, I also wanted to try and tweak his design so it COULD, in theory, show up in a game like the Mario + Rabbids series.

That means toning down some aspects that could be read as too scandalous for a Mario spin-off game, but at the same time try to justify other elements as “whimsical” or “classy”. He has high heels because louis heels were worn by men originally, he has an open shirt because that’s how men wore their shirts in the 70s. You know, tie it to his inspirations. I also added The Mad Hatter, not just because of the wonderland inspirations, but also because I like to imagine Ales does the head waggle thing. Even if I have no intentions of animating something like this, I think having in mind the character’s use in animation helps in the design process, like what’s needed from a hypothetical model.

As for actually drawing Ales, I got. Intimidated. So I decided to break it down into pieces first, which is VERY easy with thingamajigs because they’re already broken down into pieces. Some aspects were done deals first try, like how I’d shape the eyes to mimic my own style while still using the base Rayman eyes. However, a lot of other aspects I had to sit back and consider them, like the shape of his torso. Some ideas I’m also still not completely married to, like the shape of his earrings. At this point I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to give him his bell bottoms or not, because I’d figure the devs would want the floating limbs to be front and center for the thingamajig’s designs, not just Rayman. On the other hand, Rayman HAD worn pants in some games (coincidentally the Rabbid games), so it’s not a far off concept.

Then I finally sketched out Ales! It’s not a perfect one to one of the SOH artstyle, but that’s ok, since it’s a first pass :))) I figured out how to keep his pants AND show off his floating limbs at the same time, which I’m very proud of. I do think next pass, I’d want to use a different shape for the earrings, since they’re kind of cluttered, as well as a slightly different half-up hairdo, just to give it a more interesting shape. But overall I’m happy how Ales looks!

I also drew him as a teensy for fun, just to shove him inside that bigass prop hat, and you have to get his glamour or he refuses to come out. I didn’t use my usual design for teensies because Giacomo Boni’s glade character designs are soooo funky and weird (positive, go look at his Murfy art I <333), so I made him hunched and made his nose bulbous while pointing down. Makes him look like the old man Teensies are supposed to be :)))

All in all, I’m happy with this study session! I can’t promise I’ll actually render Ales in this style, but if I ever do I have something to come to for reference!

Feel like yapping, this line of Amir really got me thinking. I genuinely love it when he expresses other emotions and specially anger/frustration.

Not only that, this line gives me insight of what his mother is like from his childhood, yeah? She must of been somewhat angry or so, along the lines of that. So this must of been another emotion(s) that Amir has taken in/adopted/picked up over time from another person in his life that matters in some way. Just like Quincy and Arthur, how Amir sometimes mimics their way of talk and words. And when he does it, Amir catches himself at times when he does it.

As a person who also does these things throughout my own life, I find this detail really neat and interesting! Makes me feel valid. 🥹 On words, sounds, voices, etc.

Recently I did an artist study of temmie chang's deltarune/undertale concept art - specifically for my traditional art assignment at college. I didn't really WANT to do the assignment - because it was boring - but when I heard I could study anyone I wanted, I knew who I had to study.
