My song of choice is "Together for One Last Dance" by Junior Senior. I chose this song for the vague sense of doom the lyrics give me. Why's it the last time? Why do they keep saying "Don't think too much about it?" Idk made me think about the gloaming.

But mainly I wanted to see the club succeed, even for just a minute.

Ok here’s one of my de head canons:

I honestly don’t know too much of the speedfreaks lore except for usual stuff but I love Egg Head. I was talking about how we never see fanart of him because we never actually see a realistic portrait of him, and… that’s the thing: we never really see him, that’s just a mask he decided to put on.

Let me explain it better:

-obviously the whole hard-core repeating thing is some kind of mask he has on (we could call it also a copying mechanism)

- he looks kinda well dressed, he reminded me of people here in my city that study economy or engineering (I live in Italy lol)

so I thought

- he actually used to live a pretty rich life but felt constricted to have a certain way of living: go to uni, get more and more rich, don’t have a soul, and his only comfort was music; after some time he just went silent mode (as acele said that when they were coming back from the party they met at he was completely silent and I guess it’s pretty much not only exhaustion but literally how he would be most of the time) and after one of the many parties he started going instead of going to uni he decided to finally run away forever.

I’m sorry I can’t subscribe to ‘Kim doesn’t care about Harry or anyone really’ bc wowwww like he sees the most pathetic miserable stinky creature on the planet and becomes infatuated (either platonically or romantically, whichever floats ur boat) enough to do a silly little dance in a church-slash-nightclub and play a silly little board game even tho it’s got nothing to do with the murder and oh yeah he deadass ditches his precinct to work with (and keep an eye on) this sopping wet man who reeks of dysfunction but gives him hope

Discotechs died with the collapse of the gay party scene, the Reagan administration, the rise of the LGBT community and gay liberation movement.

In Disco Elysium disco fell as Revachol lost its independence and the grasp of the moralintern, coalition and the economic disparity of capitalism shut its jaws around the people.

EDM, electronic dance music birthed from the ashes of the discotech and new club music was born, similarly ADM, Adonic Dance Music is starting its journey into the main stream.

This places culturally and phonically Disco Elysium sometime in the mid to late 80s or even Early 90s.

Now I wanted to figure out what music was on Speedfreak radio:

DJ mesh says:

"...AND DE FACTO THE FASTEST MUSIC IN ALL OF R-R-REVACHOL R-ROCK CITY. ALL YOU HOOLIGANS, DOWNTOWN DRIFTERS, SIDEWAYS SALLIES AND POWERSLIDING PIERRES."

The only song we hear on Speedfreaks radio is described as:

"If, when a motor-carriage's engine was ignited, it could drive by its own accord off to a high mountain and there write a song -- perhaps it'd be something like what you're hearing now."

We know that the music is rock and it's fast and has the essence of something a car would write as well as a clear association with car culture.

Similarly around the mid to late 80s metal rock music was gaining popularity in the mainstream.

Including a subgenre of metal known as speed metal.

Anyway, I'm not a huge metal fan, in fact I'm a complete noob when it comes to the genre.

But I've done my best collecting some metal from the time period that I think would be played on Speedfreaks FM and would be to Kim's tastes.

As well as a few more anachronistic additions plus some songs just for fun.
