it makes me sick to my stomach thinking about how spock — touch telepath, by the way — touches jim and accepts his touch so freely, almost without hesitation, but denies touch from others. like, okay, you can argue he has his cool vulcan telepathic shields on all the time, but, surely, surely, he can feel jim's mind buzzing, electric and agitated, brushing against his own. like humans brush hands with the one they like.

and he shouldn't think about it, but maybe he does. maybe in the quietness and stillness of his meditation, he feels the ghost of jim's psychic, burning, tingling. like lips feel hours later after a kiss. the memory of it.

but then, he's sure jim isn't even aware of all this. so he keeps touching him and letting himself be touched. and it could mean nothing.

so you're saying that poolverine referenced a scene between spirk, who are arguably the founding fathers of men that should have been allowed to kiss on tv but weren't? two dudes with chemistry and love so inherent it was unexplainable and unreasonable to anyone but them, two people pulled together by universes and stars and fate? you're saying that's who they copied? no wonder they didn't make out. emulating the kings of pining like that, s dangerous business

Still thinking about when I asked my father (who originally watched TOS when it was the only series) if he thought Spock and Kirk were in love and he (with out any hesitation) said “yes, absolutely”

Isn't it interesting that Spock refers to his friendship with Jim as shameful when he is infected by a virus that reveals one's inner feelings/desires? That he calls Jim "my friend" while he is in the blood fever of pon farr and shouldn't be able to speak at all? That he tells Jim he has always and ever shall be his friend while dying to save everyone? And then repeats the phrase mostly word for word after he is brought back to life and slowly regaining his memories (I think?? I shouldn't be posting this because I am still only on season 2! but I can not ignore the circumstances of when he uses the term "friend")

And later, by the third season in the episode Whom Gods Destroy, they refer to each other as brothers without anything altering their inhibitions.

Like. My point is they are not declared as lovers until the t'hy'la footnote, but they are declared as friends and as brothers throughout the series. Their love can not be openly declared in the show or movies but exists literally in the margins, outside of the boundaries.

LOOKED him up and down, and despite absolutely knowing it would not be considered impolite if he didnt offer a hand shake, looked at Spock, tall drink of water Spock, Vulcan sensitive hands used as terms of affection Spock, and was like hmmmm absolutely will make this Vulcan shake my hand. AND SPOCK gave like 1 second of thought before he was like yes absolutely here is my hand to hold for you and you only. I AM DECEASED
