i don't think you understand how much i love pretty!kirk, who is so pretty in fact that when they go on shore leave in the city everyone of every gender and species is just doing double takes because they're drawn to his open pretty smile and glittering eyes and long eyelashes and perfect curl of perfect hair on his forehead, and when he goes into a bar it only takes one second for his drink to be bought and paid for, and he's a little bit oblivious, doesn't even realize how pretty he is, so pretty spock's heart literally stops in his side sometimes even though he's desensitized himself to the USUAL level of ✨pretty✨ after years of practice, but all it takes is jim's hair to be a little wet or for him to laugh a little too hard and it's like this dazzling beam of light that slices through the whole world because he's so pretty

Getting into Star Trek has left me doomed. I go to read or watch something completely unrelated and when two people touch hands it feels so scandalous like I audibly gasp because im so used to reading spirk fics that immediately have to go “oh. I forgor”

Star Trek has permanently altered how I view people touching hands in media because of yk. The Vulcan ‘hand touch = kiss’ thing. Which can be incredibly annoying especially when I see fanart where two characters are touching hands in any way and I immediately think “ohohohoho so scandalous” when no. it really isn’t.

But it also makes me seem like an incredibly,,, horny? person from like the 1600s when touching hands before marriage was an ‘immediately going to hell’ kind of sin. Anyway all that’s to say is I am SLUT SHAMING every single person who has EVER held hands in a romantic sense before MARRIAGE do you even KNOW what that MEANS /j

HOLD UP. It's some creature they know absolutely nothing about beyond that it's probably what has been driving whole planets to madness. It could be toxic upon contact. It could have some hidden defense mechanism that won't trigger until touched. Etc., etc., etc. But Jim Kirk just grabs the unknown thing barehanded? Without a single hesitation? spock walks so close behind kirk that hes almost always brushing up into his arm/back/ (vulcans avert your eyes) hands; the man is averaging 4.5 touches per episode. i swear to god im trying to find when kirk touches him but he does a frustratingly good job at Not Touching Spock
