Congratulations on the end of splinter fractures!

I drew what I imagined so it's not actually a scene. Yes, under the dawn sky, the demon Adam, with his brand new angel wings and halo, is surrounded and loved by Lucifer and Lilith, representing the fact that no matter what form Adam is in, it can't affect the fact that he's loved. The unfolding book is Abel's diary.

Thank you @fallingivy for such a well-written piece! (I hope I didn't mislabel them) I'm really touched by the fact that this fic spans all of adamsapple's history, from its serialization in February to the present! It's really so good.

I got some thoughts about Splinter Fractures...

Listen, I know Adam is an antagonist. I know he's an irredeemable pos and I can barely stand him half the time. However, if you strip away their conflict with Heaven, angels being assholes, and get to the core of their personal beef... idk man I feel like it's not proportionate at ALL.

Spoilers for the fic up to ch.24 below

So, basically, in Eden

Adam: [has a disagreement with Lilith]

Lucifer: [fucks BOTH of his wives, tells Adam he is unlovable, and enables all three of them to fall from grace]

And then right after the insurrection

Adam: "My son just died a second time, permanently now, because of your actions."

Lucifer: [CUTS HIM FOR SOME REASON?] "Yeah, yeah, boo-hoo, just don't call my wife a slut."

UM? HELLO?? Am I missing something here? Like, yeah, he's said some horrible shit to them, but Lucifer/Lilith completely fucked up his life/afterlife and for what reason?? Why did Lilith and Lucifer grow to resent him so much after they were banished from Eden?? It was their own actions that got them into trouble and it was Michael that dished out the punishment, where did their hatred come from and WHY are they doing the whole 'yeah, both sides have done bad things, both sides are valid' when those two retaliated so hard?!

Ofc this is taking away everything that is going on around them, Adam is a genocidal psychopath, but I'm Just Saying... those tendencies didn't just magically appear one day for no reason

Btw none of this is criticism to the author, I LOVE their story and I love how complicated and multi-faceted their characters are, I'm just doing some Thinkin

That latest chapter of Splinter Fractures made me cry! Wasn't the first, won't be the last I bet. I didn't think this would be my first semi-finished (pretend it's not just a coloured sketch) fanart of this fic, and I'm definitely going to be making more still :))

I love the New and Unending Dawn ending so so much. I love my little guys (the voices) and I want them to be happy and free to learn to be safe. I love thinking about them exploring their world, one free of pain and death, learning things. Perhaps even splitting off into their own gods, connected and 'us' but having discovered themselves. Able to develop past their lables like the contrarian did and learning how they interconnect and make a whole, never alone but still themselves. Just let them hang out and discover the beauty in the world together okay I'm cryign.

KOBD and SG KOBD are just helping funnel out SG autobots who're realizing there's a less shitty option, they're doing proper medical check overs (especially since now we've got basically three factions allied together versus one faction, with quite an amount defecting from the last one. The remaining SG autobots better have their game up or else...)

It's probably wishy washy backstory stuff, but I also love the idea that SG Megatron takes one look at baseline Megs and sees the redemption material. it's also because it's funny as hell.

Yessss yes he does. Seeing how SG Starscream and baseline Jetfire interact has to be so fun, especially since baseline Jetsie is way more of a gentle giant type than SG Jetfire is (... Who I have not quite figured out where he goes in this...)

Look. I love Pokemon. I love analyzing and theorizing. I love connecting dots and figuring out how the greater world in any series works.

But I don't think anything will get me on a rant faster than when people try to create a singular continuity or narrative for the pokemon games. It just gets too messy too fast when you consider events between versions from the same release, never mind trying to span across the games.

I think if you have fun or just want your own interpretation/setup for your own uses? Go for it! But if you try to treat any of it seriously or like Game Freak has some greater solid plan about any of it I'm gonna skeptically raise my eyebrows at you.

Not that they don't make callbacks, or references, or imply continuity - but I am doubtful it is something they have neatly laid out on some sort of timeline like people want it to be. I think it's better to take it as Suggested lore, that is canon within the boundaries of whatever game you are playing, and anything beyond that will have to be headcanon by default.

Adam cracked his eyes open as something pleasantly cold touched his forehead, and saw a hazy blur of shapes swim above him before they formed into a pale face with bright, lovely eyes looking down at him, eyes like a sunset in gold and red. He reached out to cup the face in his hands, feeling the skin soft under his fingers, watching those golden eyes blink and go tear-bright. 

“I know you,” he said quietly. Maybe he didn’t know his name right now, but he knew this man was important to him. The tears concerned him and he tried wiping them away, but they kept coming. That worried him more. “Don’t cry,” he demanded, trying to sit up on the bed.

This chapter devoured me, chewed me up, and spat me out. Fuck dialogue heavy chapters tbh, they hurt me. I’ll write them for the good of the story but at what cost.

Weird & Wonderful Wednesday

Ah, more fractured fairytales, and the start of Harrow’s series that’s called Fractured Fairytales. In this case it’s about Zinnia Gray. She’s about to turn 21, which is as old as she’s going to get since because of an illness she got. No one else with that illness has lived past 21.

Of course, that would be a boring book (and sorta short). Zinnia’s best friend Charm wants to make Zinnia’s last birthday an awesome one, with a Sleeping Beauty theme. Except, when Zinnia actually pricks her finger, well, suddenly she’s adventuring through the multiverse, alongside another ‘Sleeping Beauty’ named Primrose.

Like a proper fractured fairytale, this takes these fairytales and tilts them on their head, or their side, or sorta upside down and inside out. The characters were really fun, and unique, and it was a fast read too. And, it is the first book too, with the second out as well.

Me when fanfiction makes me feel things:

This is the scene from chapter 15 of Splinter Fractures by @fallingivy that I wanted to draw most. Both because it was very soft and honest (Adam admitting that he's been broken/needs fixing and Luci being there to comfort him) and because of the (magically conjured) night sky in the solarium. I'll be honest, I can't resist the allure of a good space background in a drawing.

I had a lot of fun figuring out how to draw the glass windows in a way that made them look like glass without taking away from the stars beyond. Also the gilded patterning on the pillars was a lot of messing around to see what looked nice (it was mentioned in the chapter that even the gate to the solarium was gilded because apparently Luci can't resist making things shiny XD). The plants I drew around the edges were kind of random, I just wanted them to be there because they're important to the setting :P

For Adam's appearance, the first thing of Splinter Fractures that I actually drew was me trying to visualise the descriptions of his sinner design. His hair is mentioned to 'need a trim' more than once so I drew it a bit longer. I don't know if this is accurate to what the author intended but I'd love to hear if there are parts that should be different (for future reference :))
