its so so insane how dean has like. the huge fanbase he does. he is AWFUL!!!! i love him truly but im known for loving awful characters in fandoms im used to characters who act like him being viciously hated!!! and the only explanation i can think of is that hes played by jensen ackles (aka pretty white man). theres the fact that the narrative favours dean a lot when hes not actually right (a la s4) but thats not just it because dean is pretty clear-cut presesnted as getting morally greyer to the point of antihero territory in like s9 (where im at) at least. and Yet. he is unproblematic ally king to all??? supportive brother of the century??? Girl what???? do you know who dean winchester is? he is a controlling possessive clingy manipulative aggressive unstable thirty five year old who cant grow past his own damage and never really will because the narrative is perpetuated by the cycles he keeps perpetuating

Bingo! Luz is an avid “Supernatural” by Carver Edlund (AKA, Chuck!) fan!

In my AU, Luz is a giant Charlie fan, has cosplayed as Dean before, and 100% ships Destiel. She has a bunch of headcanons for the “characters” too.

I added her comment about the Supernatural books kind of late into my script so she doesn’t react to Dean, Sam, and Cas revealing who they are. I guess with everything going on it doesn’t really click until much later and then she’ll have the horrible realization that she’s read (and written) a TON of fanfiction about these people.

I plan on making a short comic of her coming to this conclusion eventually! I think it’ll be very awkward for everyone involved.

Okay not to get all negative but it’s the way that they talk about how Dean “deserves a vacation” and Dean says “I’ll get my vacation one day but not now” while dealing with the Mark of Cain….but we know he won’t. He’s going to die fighting without a vacation or happy ending.

What if Charlie talked about Cas with Dean after she met him in episode 10x18 "Book of the Damned".

What if after eating their dinner she grabbed him and told him she noticed a thing going on between them.

What if Dean denied it first (because it's Dean) but then admitted what he felt for Cas (because it's Charlie).

What if Charlie encouraged him to talk to Cas.

What if Dean said he was scared to lose him, either because Cas wouldn't feel the same way or because Dean thinks he loses everybody he cares about (maybe both).

What if she sort of convinced him to do something about it anyway.

What if her death just proved him right, that indeed he loses everyone he cares about, so he never said anything.

What if then?

Belly shot, he think hysterically. It’s a belly shot, and they’re gonna have to leave me. It’s this thought that pulls him out of his own head, back into the pants and the grunts and the salt and the sweat and the splattered liquid on his knuckles that might be the dying gasps of his aorta or might be the tears that keep lining up on the long-lashed lower lids of Dean’s eyes, welling up behind each other and pushing each other off the brink into free fall like lemmings off a cliff.
