The whole S/D conflict being treated as another infidelity sl, w/ Sam cheating w/ Amelia and Dean w/ Benny. Dean being mad jealous of Amelia and even yelling at Sam "you left me for a girl", Sam being irrationally jealous of Benny and asking Dean to "break up" w/ him (that motel scene is so soap opera-ish lol). S/D being explicitly compared to Amelia/Don. Sam and Dean choosing e/o at the end (Sam breaking up w/ Amelia, Dean killing Benny for Sam), and getting "married" in that church. And more.

Actually, you are very right. Season 11 gets to me mostly because of that one episode where Sam tries to get his brother to kiss him and assumes he's Dean's deepest darkest desire, but you're right.

Also you could have just said "they got married in the finale, remember?" and I would have conceded your point. XD

What happens in purgatory...

So I've had this HC since the glorious days of season 8.

We all know that once Castiel was "saved" from Purgatory by Naomi she started messing with his head and that it probably wasnt the first time.

Well messing with his head also included erasing memories.

I've always liked to think that if Destiel ever actually happened itd physically begin when they were stuck in Purgatory.

My head canon is that Dean and Cas slept together during their time in purgatory. But when Dean got out, in classic Dean Fashion he pretended it never happened because of his shame spiral and stuff. But when Castiel got out, Naomi found the memory and thought that it would get in her plans way, so she took it out. Therefore Cas had no memory of what him and Dean shared, and because Dean never talked about it he didnt realise that Castiel didnt remember. So when we get to season 9 when Cas sleeps with April, and Cas is like "my first time" and all that Dean gets super jealous and starts being a dick to Castiel (which apparently didnt stop. I mean have you seen S15E1 yet?). He uses Ezekiel/Gadreels excuse to get rid of him, but it was really about that.

Basically, yeah.

What happens in Purgatory really does stay in Purgatory...

there's something so deeply erotic about this exchange. dean bites out a snarky comment, and sam immediately tenses up, waiting for his brother's disapproval. he expects it, he's waiting for it, because he's never good enough and he never does anything right.

but it doesn't come. dean tells him he's done good, he offers him whiskey in celebration, even, and it gives sam pause—he hesitates, like he doesn't know what to do, looks up at dean for confirmation, then accepts the offering. like he's proud of himself for gaining dean's approval, but he hardly knows what to do with it. how long has he been waiting for this anyway? how many years has he been trying and failing to get this simple, no-strings-attached praise out of him?
