Playing 'Oxygen Not Included' has been so much fun, I feel like a soon-to-be father trying to figure out how to build an IKEA baby crib after losing the manual for it and needing to Google instructions every now and then.

Dear Evan,

Do you believe in second chance? I guess you do, since it is what you asked of me this morning.

I am a hopeless romantic and I’ve seen enough rom-com movies to blindly believe that second chances are difficult but worth it. I gave a lot of them in my life, and I forgave a lot of mistakes that weren’t really mistakes after all. I let myself be hurt by guys that thought I’ll be easy to fool, and who were right. I should have learned to stop it, and I thought I had. I left second chances behind me years ago to protect myself from disappointment.

But there is nothing that I need to forgive you for because you did nothing wrong Evan. And I’ll keep telling you so no matter how long you’ll allow me in your life.

Second chances are a wonderful thing. It is a promise of wanting to try, a melody that you decide to keep singing even thought the music stopped for a minute. They are synonyms of hope. And, my dear, I love hope.

It’s a beautiful gift that you gave me today. Hope. Hope that one day I’ll feel good enough for you. Hope that I’ll see you become the confident bisexual man that I know you’ll become. Hope that I’ll be able to kiss you again and again and again and again. Hope that I’ll have the chance to call you my boyfriend if you want me to. Hope that I’ll be part of your life for as long as possible. Hope that I’ll be able to dance with you in front of everybody you know and look at your smile while doing it without feeling like a fraud. Hope that I’ll be liked by your sister enough for her to trust me with your heart. Hope that one day you’ll love me at least one once of how I already love you. Hope that you’ll not be frightened by how fast my feelings for you grew. Hope that you’ll not regret discovering who you fully are with me. Hope that you’ll want me as much as I want you when I see you.

I even hope that you will try and get my coffee the way I like it. I hope that you’ll think I’m worth trying. That I’m worth loving.

very very sloppy 'storyboard' wherein Vanitas (unauthorized lmfao) boards Thief's ship and attacks them, but hits vital ship machinery instead when he misses

a 'SPOM' is a 'self-powered Oxygen module' aka Machine That Make The Oxygen. I do not think Heartless need to breath actually??? but they have it on their ship anyway in case they have guests on board, as Thief's faction is friendly and their job involves a lot of shipping, including shipping materials or technology to non-heartless that need to you know. breathe

I AM NOT ACTUALLY SURE IF VANITAS NEEDS TO BREATH ACTUALLY??? he is basically just Ventus's Darkness given physical form, and like when he was made Ventus was still right there occupying the body? which begs the very real question of 'does Vanitas have a meat body or is that all Darkness SHAPED like a human body, Heartless/Ansem SOD style?!?!?!' regardless I feel like he might not actually be aware of which way it is himself until he fucks around and finds out???

I had this scene idea long ago which is why the last panel is actually kinda polished (it is old) but I decided to revisit it

I am Very Considering, throw Vanitas on board the gummiship with Thief out of all of them, since I think mr Mean Teen and the Anxiety Machine would play off each other in funny ways (and also, I just kinda wanna figure out ways I can jam Vanitas into the story, as he's actually kind of an interesting character to me)

Sufficient. More than sufficient, actually- have had to build vents out into space to release excess oxygen to prevent air pressure from becoming dangerous! Maybe building that extra-large SPOM was a mistake.

Sufficient.

Hygiene:

Taken care of ages ago with the lavatory loop and thimble reed overflow.

Morale:

The new recreation room seems to be a big hit!

Heat:

Cooling loop around the base from the Anti-Entropy Thermal Nullifier. Don’t foresee any issues with overheating in the near future.

Power:

Currently sufficient. Should build better asteroid shields for the solar panels.

Najprej pomen!

Osebno ga uporabljam samo v ločnih priredjih, se pravi v pomenu "ali". Bodisi nekaj bodisi nekaj drugega.

Lahko pomeni očitno tudi "čeprav", zdi se, da se v tem primeru spredaj da vejico, ker ni več priredje, pač pa dopustno podredje (čeprav ima tudi eden izmed primerov za pomen ali — ali napisano vejico 🤔. Ampak nas so vedno učili, da pišemo brez vejic, zato se navadno tega kar držim.).

Tretji pomen (meni neznan in zato grozno vznemirljiv :D :D :D !!) je očitno zastarela raba v pomenu "naj bo". SSKJ na kvadrat daje tale primer: "Zahteva, naj se mu opravičim. No, bodisi!"

etimologija: iz velelnika bọ́di (ta pikica načeloma samo pomeni, da je o ozek, kolikor vem. Zoprno je, ker različne jezikoslovne šole pikico uporabljajo za različne stvari) in členka si iz praslovanskega *si, "naj bo". To več ali manj citiram Snoja.

Snoj pa povzema Bezlaja, ki pravi načeloma isto:

Sestavljeno iz imperativa bodi in iz okamenele oblike starega optativa si- (ide. *sīt) iz osnove *es- (sem, si, je). Prim. Briž. spom. II 31—32 libo bodi dobro, libo li is zlo, kjer si oba člena pomensko odgovarjata (glej Berneker, I 21; Machek, 19; Kopečný, ESS, Ukázkové číslo 92-94). Drugi avtorji vidijo v tem si okameneli dativ relativnega zaimka (tako Gebauer, SS I 118; Vaillant, Gr. comp. II 447; Bajec, SR V - V I I 197; Bauer, Vývoj 33). Glej tudi dasi in najsi.

Kjer citira Brižinske spomenike, mi je bil ta "is" namesto "si" čuden, tako da grem (seveda) pogledat v rokopis (to je na tretji strani drugega spomenika):

Meni je to videti bolj kot si oz. zi (precej ziher sem, da Brižinski spomeniki oboje pišejo z z, kolikor jih gledam, ampak ne dajem roke v ogenj, saj veš), tako da sklepam, da se je Bezlaj pač zatipkal 🤷‍♂️.

Snoj nadaljuje! Se ga zelo trudim razumeti, ampak imej v mislih, da sem dobesedno kar nekdo in se na nič ne spoznam:

Praslovanski *si se je razvil iz indoevropskega *h1si̯et, 3. os. ed. optativa (očitno se temu slovensko reče želelnik? Vsaj če s Snojem misliva isto reč) glagola "biti", *h1es-. *h1si̯et je pa po analogiji pozneje postal *sīt (in se pravi od tod *si > si, če prav razumem).
