Please hold. I'm going to keep crying about this dog.
Aayla stepped into the Utility B ring at Nationals and pulled out her best and got a 198/200 only a half point behind the winner with some impressive competition. Some of the biggest names in obedience for Australian Shepherds and Aayla ranked second, only a HALF POINT behind.

This weekend of coursing was pretty successful!
Ponzi won the Open Ibizan (non-field champion) class all three days! She collected the last major needed, plus one extra, and 8 more points towards her field champion title. She is now only two points from completing her field champion title after only four days of coursing!
She did earn her Senior Courser title this weekend. I’m so so proud of my sweetest baby for persevering through three days of hot, hilly lure coursing 💜 In between runs my friend managed to get these updated stack photos

"She is probably eligible for Finals in Texas" is something I clearly remember my friend saying as Aayla got her Novice title in ASCA this past April. It wasn't even something I knew about or was on my Radar. I just wanted to hurry through novice and open to start working on her UD like I was for AKC.
Due to a barky run, she had one 193, it was suggested that I replace it for a higher score. Then I got offered a ride to nationals and was told I could stay for cheap in a stall in the obedience area. The spark there started thinking I could make this happen and we could go.
I entered in novice B for a fourth time in May to get a 196 and secure Aayla's spot in Novice Finals. When the standings came out, Aayla was dog #4 in novice with a 199, 196.5 and 196. The dogs ahead of her were in the 196-200 score range. Two dogs were scoring similar to her as well. So I was excited to go and hoped to place in the middle of the 10 dogs that were attending.
Except for a weird judge issue that caused an NQ for the first pre trial, the second pre trial went well and Aayla got her highest score in utility to date with a 195. Her heeling was doing great and I was really looking forward to finals.
For finals you do two full runs under two different judges and combine the score. NQs on an exercise are just points loss not NQed from placing. So we did our two group stays first then started our individual exercises.
Aayla got a 195 on her first run. She two slow sits that lost us our 5 points. I somewhat watched the other runs, thinking we did well in the group of people. After everyone finished my friend ran up and told me that Aayla was in the lead by several points. Even if everyone else got a perfect score, Aayla would only need to get a 196 on the next run to win overall.
For the next run Aayla only had one slow sit, but had an auto finish on the recall. She got a 194. A few of those dogs had a history of getting 199-200 scores in novice before so I held my breath.
My friend (the obedience chair, who can't wait for any surprises) came up, grabbed me and said we got it.
Aayla was the Novice Finals Champion.

AITA for not wanting to go camping with my family or really spend any time with them?
I'm child free by choice and the youngest of 7. Most of my siblings have kids at this point ranging from 13yrs old to 8 months pregnant. I have a 2 year old sport dog (IGP is our main sport). From day one I told my siblings not to play with my dog with their hands and they didn't listen so as a result my dog is a bit mouthier than your average bite sport but also house dog. He has also completed 2 separate temperament tests (for titles) and has been kid tested within them and passed. One judge told us in our critique that "this dog is clearly no danger to anyone." He uses his mouth to communicate especially when he gets excited but never hard enough to hurt anymore (it took some time to get there). So, when he is around my nieces and nephews he is closely monitored.
Well last week he and I stopped by my parents' house and got guilt tripped into staying for dinner. They have previously complained about my then 6m old dog being dangerous and out of control so I completely stopped bringing him and then they started complaining that I was never around and that they missed my dog. So I started bringing him by occasionally again. While we ate dinner at the table my dog was on leash laying down behind me asleep and my brother and his wife came in with his 2yr old daughter. Long story short she startled him by either stepping on him or kicking him and he reacted by yelp/ half barking at her and whipping around and some part of him could have been a tooth, foot or his collar scraped her cheek. I don't know what exaclty what because I was eating and he was behind me. Where where he should have been safe and unbothered while we were all eating at the table. Now according to 2 of my brothers and my SIL my dog is a horrible child attacking monster and I was told they (brother and his wife and other brother) don't want my dog around. We are supposed to go camping for labor day am I wrong for not wanting to go? It's way to last minute to board him and it's not my fault they didn't control their child since my dog was under control and honestly, in my opinion his reaction to getting startled out of sleep by being kicked/ stepped on is very fair especially since I don't step on or kick my dog and never startle him out of sleep.

En server is getting Glorious Masquerade and I am also hoping the be cool line is there—-we are also somehow getting the SSR Grim Platinum Jacket for Disneys 100th (which makes me hope they will add Grim to the alchemy lesson rotation because otherwise nobody will be able to unlock the groovy since there’s not stamp quests to get the little lollipop)
AH HECK I forgot Platinum Grim was also this month! dangit I need to reprioritize everything now. gotta save some keys for the boss in his snazzy little suit!
Tumblr media
(I think pre-lab Grim you could just buy his candy for alchemy coins, and that's also what they're doing for Rollo, so that's probably what they'll do! someone correct me if I'm remembering wrong though)
