A brief approach on omnism

Hello and welcome to my first blog post ever!

My name is Faol and... I like to associate myself as an omnist.

Now what is an omnist ? you might think.

I am so glad you asked!

Let's ask ourselves some questions, to find out more about omnism.

Be sure to know that I do not represent an omnism community. My posts are strictly my opinion and way of thinking about the subject. Everybody has their own right to think differently and should do so.

Q: What exactly is omnism ? A: Omnism is the belief that parts of the universal truth, resides in all religions. For that reason, omnists accept and respect all religion.

Q: Are all religions the same to you then ? A: To me ? No, Although I know people who believe that.

I believe religions have similar key features and morals, but they're not the same. Even religions within the same branch can differ very much!

Q: what's your opinion about Jesus Christ, The prophet Muhammad or the Buddha ? A: I know a lot of people are still debating if these people actually existed... To me, I think they did. And even if later turned out they didn't, they somehow do exist. For their teachings of love are very important and should never be forgotten. I believe we all carry these messages of love with us. And even if people believe differently, the teachings can be applied to anyone. To me, that's most important.

Q: Do/did you believe in a religion ? A: During my lifespan (I'm 26 now) I have found myself in various religions and beliefs. The truth is I never found a religion/belief that I could commit myself 100% to. Why ? I asked too much questions... Now I'm on the brink of discovering what I really believe.

Q: Why love ? A: There is simply one very important key feature that ties all religions together (in my opinion). The belief to love people and god unconditionally.

This is the very core and in my life I experienced only one close person who did this. And I wanted to be like him, but I couldn't hold the same faith like he did, so I'm still looking for my own path.

Q:Can anyone be an omnist ? A: In my opinion, everyone should have the right to be one, but this is mostly not the case. Many religions/beliefs ask people to only belief in one god only. By becoming an omnist, you say "I believe there holds truth in every religion". Many religions and beliefs hereby assume the believer believes in more then their own god, and therefore prohibit the believer to become omnistic.

Q:Is there anything else we should know about omnism ? A: For now, I think this would give a brief explanation about omnism.

Though, I am aware of the fact that it did not cover everything there is to know about omnism.
