23:01 - “can we open our presents now?”

you smiled, leaning up on your boyfriend’s chest and rolling your eyes at his repetitive question from the last few weeks, “why not?”

leehan gasped, his hand flying from your back to the back of your head, grasping tightly, “really?!”

“it’s only an hour until christmas eve,” you chuckled, “and we’re not spending christmas day together. so if you’re happy with it.”

“well…” he smiled sheepishly, looking down at you with a cheeky glint in his eye, “i’ve got you multiple! we could do one now?”

you chuckled, leaning up and kissing his lips softly, nodding, “sounds perfect.”

leehan moved quickly, jumping out of bed and opening his wardrobe, grabbing one of the multiple wrapped presents out of there, without second thought.

“why are they still in your wardrobe?” you laughed, getting one from your pile at the end of his bed, “they’re wrapped!”

leehan shrugged, a smile on his face as he came and crouched next to the bed, handing you the present as though you were a child, receiving a present from santa claus. you chuckled, taking it from his hands.

“what could it be?” you hummed, smiling as he sat back on the bed, leaning against the headboard. he raised his eyebrows in suggestion, amused look on his face.

you flipped over the now unwrapped present from your boyfriend, a homemade frame decorated with stickers (fish-based or otherwise) and a photo of you and leehan, taken on a date from mid-spring.

“that’s your favourite, right?” he said, a slight shyness peeking through, “i– it was your lockscreen.”

you broke out in a smile, crawling forward on the bed, hanging onto the back of leehan’s head as you pressed a kiss to his lips. pulling away, you remained just centimetres from his face.

“thank you,” you mumbled, kissing him again, “it’s so thoughtful, donghyun, really.”

he broke out in a smile, leaning in to kiss you again before pushing you away.

“okay, go away, i’m excited for mine,” he laughed. you sat on your knees, watching his nimble fingers shake your present, admiring the size and putting it up to his ear, you chuckling at his childish behaviour. “it’s big!”

“it’s kind of stupid,” you said, shaking your head, “don’t expect too much.”

he glared up at you before looking back down at the present, a smile spreading across his face.

“lego?” he read, looking up to you, becoming happier and happier.

“yeah…” you smiled, “it’s, um, a fish tank.”

he giggled, “really?!”

you nodded sheepishly, “you build all the fish and the decorations and the tank. but it’s small, so i thought it could be like a transportable one for you.”

“and i already have my mini!” he beamed, reaching and showing you his tiny fish tank, “it’s like all the sizes!”

you nodded, laughing, “do you like it?”

he was giggling, grabbing your face and pulling you towards him, kissing you lips repeatedly, “yes. thank you, darling. really.”

you smiled into the kiss, “merry christmas, leehan-ie.”

he pulled away, smiling as he admired your face, “merry christmas.”

He certainly loved to cuddle and hug you any chance he got. And it could be any form of hug: front hugs, tight embraces, chest hugs, where he lays his head on your chest, or the other way around, and his favorite back hugs. He loved placing his head on your shoulder or on the top of yours. He liked the feeling of you in his arms and him basking in your warmth.

If you by any chance play video games, or mobile games get ready to spend even more time with him. He'd be willing to spend his school time playing on his phone and chatting with you. In the games you played together, the whole server would know that you are dating, because it would be so evident. He always helped you with difficult missions, gave you the gear drops that would match your character, and if it was possible to get married in the game, he would make you his instantly.

With Mitsuki as your boyfriend prepare for lots of dates. It would be cute dates to the cafes, especially the animal cafes where you can not only spend time together but also play with cute cats, dogs, or even rabbits. He would be your personal photographer taking so many pictures. If you ever said you aren't photogenic, get ready to be proven wrong. He'd certainly make you look like a star in the photos, he knew your best attributes and got his research to know how to make sure you looked perfect.

His favourite type of spring date would be watching cherry blossom together.

You would walk through the alley of cheery trees. The petals falling around you and his hand holding yours.

The both of you would take so many photos, with petals in your hair and watching them blooming all over the place. On that day he would change his lockscreen to one of these pictures with you smiling brightly right beside him.

After walking you sat down on the blanket next to each other and as you watched the beautiful scenery around you, he held your hand in his lying on his lap as his gaze couldn't leave you.

You always joked that he liked the dates because his hair matched with the cherry blossoms but truthfully he just loved watching your adorable face smiling and awing at the pretty setting surrounding the both of you.

HALLWAY CRUSH JASON TODD (college!au)

↳ he's your boyfriend, but you've still got a massive crush on him

Four long, boring hours loom ahead of you when you walk to campus on Monday morning. Lectures all packed closely within the same building, on the same floor, you dread the day. Winter leaves your hands numb as you walk towards the building you’ll be spending your time in today, and you curse yourself for forgetting your gloves, sticking stiff fingers into your pockets.

There is only one other person in the lecture theatre when you walk in, sitting off to the side. You offer them a polite nod when their eyes meet yours, and continue up the stairs to take a seat, thankful for the warmth in the room. The both of you are early, and it’s quiet in the room as you take out your things, the faint smell of something lingering in the air, not entirely unpleasant, but peculiar in the way of old lecture halls. 

It’s this smell you have to endure for the next two hours. When the hour draws closer to 9 and the rest of the few students who actually bother to show up to lectures in person begin to trickle in, you’re already fighting off a yawn and wishing you’d gotten coffee from one of the vending machines in the lobby.

You switch your phone on and off, peering down at the lockscreen fondly. The black and white photobooth strip stares back, three rectangular photos stacked atop each other. The dark haired boy in the picture winks through the pixels at you, and you hide a grin. When your professor walks in and begins to set up, you tuck your phone away, finding a bit of comfort in the pretty smile of a lover.

It only lasts so long, however, and you’re soon back to staring grumpily at a set of slides and fighting back tears at the strength of your yawns–you’ve gone through so many in the last twenty minutes it’s getting rude. It isn’t his fault, your poor old professor, that he speaks so slowly, or that you’re not made for morning classes. After yet another yawn, you rub your eyes tiredly, trying to make sense of what he’s saying.

The text comes through in the middle of your lecture, an hour into the history of corporations, and you flick your gaze down to the bubble that appears over your lockscreen. Your boyfriend’s contact photo accompanies the message, and you bite back a grin, reading the two words.

Confused, you glance up to the door of the lecture theatre that looks out into the hallway, propped ajar with an old textbook. In the background, your lecturer takes a question, and you really should be listening, but you’re wondering whether the message was actually meant for you and then–

Jason, stupidly handsome, and bright eyed, walks past the door, peering in and grinning when you make eye contact. You just about jolt in your seat, unable to contain your own smile when he glances at your professor and shoots you a cheeky wink. Idiot, you think fondly. 

He’s gone before you can blink, leaving you to return to the class once more. Only, how can you, when you’ve got to settle your silly little lovesick heart, grinning like a fool?

And just when you think you’ve got a handle on your heart, the butterflies spring forth anew with his next text.

i had to sit in the same lecture theatre for FOUR hours today can you believe. anyway made eye contact with everyone walking outside because i was so tired and i just kept imagining this stupid (affectionate) boy walking past and timing his text so you'd see him when you look up. because this is fanfiction. and i can make him do that!

✮ and then one day after one of the kids you were babysitting went home, you saw that they left their colouring book at your house, and you would just curiously go over and try colouring in one of the sections... and then shua would come in and see what you were doing and wanna join you AND THEN BOOM ITS BEEN AN HOUR WHAT FUCKING DRUGS ARE IN CHILDREN'S COLOURING BOOKS??? after that day, the two of you started buying your own colouring books and then spending your afternoons together colouring while you ate dinner.

“C’mon please,” I hear for probably the eighth time in the past hour. I take a deep breath and close my laptop knowing this essay isn’t getting finished tonight. The past three days my roommate Harper has been trying to get me to agree to go on a double date with her and her boyfriend.” If I go tonight there are gonna be some requirements agreed on first,” I sigh knowing soon enough she’d make me cave.

She jumps up from the couch running over and hugging me at the kitchen counter. I laugh as she squeezes me and say,”Harp calm down okay. I said yes but you owe me.” She pulls back, her bright blue eyes filled with excitement, and nods while also slightly jumping up and down.”You will be buying dinner every night this week. You have to do all the dishes too. And lastly, this is the biggest one, please don’t just leave me alone with someone I just met,” I say knowing she will do atleast two of the three things.” Sounds like we have a deal.” Famous last words.

I knew I was being dramatic, Harper knew, hell even Jamie knew I was and he wasn’t even here yet. It wasn’t because I was trying to be difficult honestly, but the idea of going on a date with a professional hockey player was really nerve wracking. Luckily I knew Jamie well enough to know what his roommates name was, so after a quick google search to make myself feel better I felt worse. Trevor Zegras, New York native, number 11 for the Anaheim Ducks, and lastly hottest guy I had ever seen. A soft knockon my door breaks me from my staring contest with my phone.” Come in.”

Jamie opens my bedroom door and smiles wide at me. I return the smile halfway as he sits at my desk chair.” Y/n I want you to listen to me okay. I know you are nervous about tonight and if you really don’t wanna go you don’t have to. I don’t want you doing anything uncomfortable with. Harper is only being so annoying about it because of Z. After he saw her lockscreen of the two of you from Halloween last year he hasn’t stopped asking about you. He finally annoyed her enough for you to come tonight.” I snap my head towards him and raise an eyebrow confused.

” What are you talking about Jamie? I thought you wanted me to go tonight because you felt bad ditching him on his first night back from his trip,” I ask because that is what Harper told me. His blue eyes go wide and blush quickly rushes to his face and falling all the way down to his neck.” Well yeah… I mean of course that’s why… we,” he started stuttering knowing he had messed up. I give him a look as he jumps up and races down to the kitchen. I quickly follow him and am met with him kissing Harp bye and headed home.” See you later,” he rushes as he closes the door.

“What the hell was that,” I look at her and then back to the door.” What? Oh Jamie. Well you know I love him but he is kinda an odd duck sometimes,” she smiles not making eye contact. “Harper was what Jamie said true? He wanted to meet me because of your lock screen,” I question rounding the corner and standing beside her so she has to look at me. She takes a deep breath and finally looks at me.” Yes okay. Jamie didn’t know that I may have left some details out so don’t be upset with him. Trevor saw my phone and said you were the prettiest girl he had ever seen. I just know you Y/n. If you knew Trevor was excited to meet you it would freak you out, like it is doing right now. I promise I didn’t mean to upset you I thought I was helping,” she looked up with sad puppy eyes. I knew she wouldn’t hurt me on purpose and neither would Jamie. I lean over and wrap my arms around her. She sighs and nuzzles deeper into the hug.

“You were right. I am kinda freaking out. I also may or may not have googled him,” I say my voice growing smaller as the sentence finishes. She springs backs and looks at me laughing.” Y/n! This is too good oh my gosh. So, what did you think,” she props her head up with her hands and smirks at me. I push her head and get up walking back towards my room.” Just so you know this is gonna be in my speech at your wedding.”

Hours later I take one last final look in the mirror. I went with a light green sweater and light washed jeans. The jeans were tight enough to show my figure, but not too tight to be uncomfortable. I lean down running my hands through my freshly curled hair and smile. The doorbell ringing makes my smile drop. My stomach is swirling with nervousness. I haven’t been on a date with a guy I didn’t like in forever and now I’m going on one with someone I do. I slowly walk down the stairs to see Jamie waving through the window by the door. Laughing at him, I reach down and twist the doorknob open.

The sight I’m met with is straight from a rom-com. Two ridicously attractive guys standing at the front door with flowers and huge smiles. My eyes drift from Jamie to Trevor’s flowers then finally to his eyes. He smiles and I can see a light pink dusting on his cheeks.” Well don’t you guys look nice. Come in Harper is just finishing up,” I say pulling the door wider and let Jamie lead them in. I laugh silently at Jamie even ringing the doorbell since he already has a key to our place. He makes quick work of finding two vases for the flowers as Trevor stands to the side awkwardly. It was cute seeing this super confident guy look like a kid being dropped off by his parents on the first day of school.” You can sit if you want to, don’t have to stand there the whole time. Harper always takes forever getting ready,” I smile at him hoping to calm both of our nerves.

He joins me at the kitchen counter and slides into the seat next to me.” I’m Y/n by the way. I know you knew that already but it felt weird to not introduce myself.” He turns and I can see just how bright his eyes are this close. His smile curls up his face as he lets out a laugh.” I’m so glad you said that. I was wondering if I was supposed to because Jamie told me you knew the basics about me, so I’m glad you led the way. I’m Trevor by the way and these are for you,” he pushes the flowers in my direction. I take them from him as our fingers brush each other’s and we stop. Looking up quickly at each other and then blushing again. I twirl the small bouquet of daisies around and smile at them.” Harp said they were your favorite,” he says quietly. This is a very different verison of him that I thought I would be meeting tonight. From all the stories and interviews I knew he was a loud lovable goofball but seeing him kinda shy and reserved was interesting.

Jamie interrupted our staring contest by placing the vase down infront of me and softly pulling the flowers from my hands to get them into water. Before he can make a comment, which I could tell he was going to by the twinkle in his eye, Harper finally made it downstairs and greeted Jamie with a small kiss.” Okay let’s go people. Seriously I have no idea why we haven’t left yet,” she jokes laughing at how even she knew her and time had a difficult relationship.

The night exceeded my expectations by a thousand percent. We all walked around the fairgrounds and as the night went along Trevor finally let his personality start to show. We followed closely behind the happy couple infront of us and both laughed at how such a small girl could drag the defencemen around like it was nothing. As I followed them into the line for the ferris wheel, I felt Trevor stop behind me. Turning around I can see the nervous look in his eyes mixed with dread. Sensing his resistance to get in line I figured he wasn’t the biggest fan of heights. Jamie and Harper turn around and see us standing back from them. As Trevor opens his mouth to explain why he stopped I cut him off,” I’m not really feeling this one guys. Trev do you think it’d be okay if we skip this one and do something else.” The anxiety visibly leaves his body as he nods quickly. Reaching down and lacing our fingers together I look back to our friends.” We will catch up with you guys after,” Harper says coming over and giving me a quick hug. I’m having fun just the two of us.” His smile reaches his eyes and he slowly reaches out and connects our hands again.” Me too,” he exclaims while rubbing his thumb back and forth on my hands. We finished up and stood up looking around for the rest of our group. A message from a group chat including the four of us, which was just made, explained how they saw us having a good time and decided to go back to the boy’s place for the night. I laugh at the face he makes reading the text.” Oh you think this is funny missy. I love them but they haven’t spent time alone together in a minute so,” he stopped his sentence not having to finish it.” I find it hilarious mister,” I say poking his chest,” because if I’m not mistaken I had to deal with Valentine’s Day so I dont wanna hear it.” We both laughed at our shared trauma of sharing a wall with the two of them.” Okay so what’s next? I do not wanna go home yet,” he says walking forward lacing our fingers back together. I look down and smile at how natural it feels.

“Well they close soon so wanna try and find somewhere else that’s open this late,” I ask pulling out my phone again to search for things to do. I let out a squeal as I notice I never cleared my recent search history, the one including my cyberstalking of Trevor.” No way I just saw what I think I saw,” he laughs reaching down for my phone. I quickly move it behind my back slipping my other hand from his to have a better grip on it.” I have no idea what you are talking about,” I laugh nervously knowing he probably thinks I’m a weirdo stalker now.” Okay then let me see your phone.” As the words leave his mouth I blush even harder and shake my head. He continues walking towards me as I walk back away from him. All is going fine until I feel something hard hit my back. Silently cursing I notice I literally backed myself into a wall.

Trevor finally reaches me and stops just a couple inches from my body. Both of our breathing is heavy and the phone was the last thing on our minds. His blue eyes dart from mine to my lips a couple times making sure I can see it. I smile at him as he leans down slowly, giving me any chance to stop this. Getting frustrated, I lean forwards connecting our lips and wrapping my arms around his neck. He quickly recovers and leans more into me, pushing me deeper into the brick wall behind me. Only pulling away because we need air, I hear him chuckle as I still have my eyes closed scared that if I open them this could all just be a cruel dream. Finally opening them I see his flushed face and slightly swollen lips.” There she is,” he whispers looking into my eyes. I laugh and lean forward resting my head on his chest. I can feel the rapid beat of his heart and just sit in the moment for a second. That second was quickly interrupted by him snatching my phone from my hands and running to put some distance between us.” Trevor! Seriously no,” I plead but it’s too late. He is scrolling through my google laughing the whole time he does it. Feeling so embarrassed I turn away from him and start walking towards the exit. I guess he noticed and caught up to me quickly, stupid long legs. I try not to make eye contact and keep walking ahead when he stops right infornt of me.

“Hey look I’m sorry okay. Please look at me,” I can hear the sincerity in his voice, but that doesn’t help with how stupid I feel. I refuse to look at him, my eyes drifting everywhere else. He lightly places his hand under my chin and moves my head to look at him.” Hi,” he smiles at me almost making it hard for me to be mad he stole my phone.” Hi,” I whisper back finally letting myself relax alittle.” I am sorry Y/n. I just got a little excited. I mean it’s not everyday that you find out the girl you have been dreaming about was looking you up before a date,” he speaks softly like you would to a scared animal. I sigh and let a lone tear fall down my face. His thumb quickly swipes it away,” I just don’t want you to think I’m so weirdo who stalked you.” He laughs and puts both hands on my cheeks. I reach up and wrap mine around his wrist keeping him locked in afraid he may run.” I mean I do think you are a weirdo but not because of that.” I laugh and roll my eyes at his joke.” Seriously I think it’s cute. I totally scrolled all the way through your instagram the second I learned your name from Harper,” he confessed.

Laughing I lean up and connect our lips and then quickly pull back. He makes a small noise of protest and I giggle,” now who’s the weirdo.” He laughs and leans his head down to rest on mine. We stay in the moment until some guy yells at us saying the park closed five minutes ago. Grabbing his hand, I take of running pulling him along with me laughing the whole time. We uber back to my place and Trevor walks me up to the door. He swings our hands with every step and continues even when we reach the door.” I had a really great time tonight,” he blushes running thumb along my hand again.” Me too. Best date I’ve ever been on,” I smile up at him. He leans down and give me one final kiss before walking towards his car, Jamie and Harper must have come back here and got hers. Our hands stay connected until they can’t anymore. I laugh at him and yell out,”dork.” He smiles and runs back up to me kissing me again suddenly.” Only for you,” he winks then runs back to his car heading back to his place. I wave at him as he pulls out and I finally make my way upstairs and get ready for bed.

After getting settled I lay down in bed with a huge smile on my face. This night couldn’t have gone any better. Then my thoughts are cut off by the small ding of my phone. One new message for Trev 😍🥵😮‍💨. I laugh at the contact name he must have put in there when he had my phone.

Trev 😍🥵😮‍💨: I made it back home and I’m laying down wondering what’s the point of going to sleep when my dreams already came true 😘

Christmas with Charlie Spring

If you two go to the same school, the two of you get matching Christmas jumpers to wear on Christmas jumper day and everyone rolls their eyes at you.

The whole group definitely does secret Santa and you're involved whether you're in the friend group or not you're invited which would make it even harder for everyone else. Everyone ends up asking him what to get you and he'd basically end up doing your secret Santa.

If you make him a winter basket (I think tiktok calls them brr baskets or something) with his favourite fuzzy socks and hot chocolate and Christmas colouring he would cry

He's the one that wants to celebrate christmas really early and you have to tell him it's too early, you ban him from playing christmas music in September. On the first of December, he starts sending you every Mariah Carey Tiktok he sees.

You two go on fun winter themed dates like christmas markets, baking, ice skating, light trails etc.

He's always freezing so he's constantly stealing your jumpers or hot water bottle or the blankets if you're cuddling together. You fall asleep on the sofa after watching Christmas films and Tori ends up with so many pictures of you

You piss him off by terribly playing christmas songs on his drums when you're in his room.

He invited you over in early December to 'hang out' but it was really just a rouse to get you to do all of the decorations that none of them wanted to do. They have you hanging garlands, untangling lights, on the roof putting up Santas etc.

Similar to the halloween ones, Charlie is the one that tells you where everything goes and you're the one on the ladders doing all of it.

If they had a personalised family decoration like picture frame trees or 'Spring Family Christmas' Sign then you were definitely added onto it either naturally or by Charlie scribbling your name

You two definitely end up with matching Christmas pyjamas, socks, hot water bottles etc and he makes you wear the most ridiculous christmas hats and takes pictures of you that end up being his lockscreen

He thinks you look so pretty in winter (you're pretty all the time but more so in winter) He constantly takes pictures of you bundled up in hats, snow in your hair, holding his hand ice skating, Christmas lights reflecting in your eyes etc

He definitely prefers making you gifts rather than buying them. He has a whole Tiktok folder called 'Things to make for Y/N.' You get things like handmade picture frames, long love letters, scrapbooks etc.

If he does buy you things then they're amazing too, he'll stalk your instagram following, interests, letterboxd, pinterest ANYTHING to make sure that you absolutely love your gift.

He drags Tori into his room a few days before you exchange gifts and there's just sellotape, crafts, gifts and wrapping paper all over the floor and she has to help him organise everything and help him wrap it all so he's less stressed out

He's the type to make you open everything in front of him so he can see your reaction, he loves to see you smile.

You were definitely invited to their Christmas Eve traditions or something or vice versa. You ended up going ice skating with the spring family or baking cookies or opening Christmas Eve boxes (his parents would know you were coming and get you a little something too)

If you're both with your families then you two will face time to show each other the gifts you got or if you have time then you might meet up at the park or go to each others houses and tell each other about how your Christmas went

On Boxing Day you go round to his house and the two of you cuddle on the sofa watching christmas films and compare gifts (one of you definitely got legos so you brought that round and you built it together)

It’s been three days since the party, and Amber has been following Maggie like a hungry stray cat. The walls of Maggie’s room were covered with photos of mostly family and Amber, and the ceilings were draped with fake vines and fairy lights. 

“Maggie, you’re killing me.” Amber's arms fly up into the air, making her look like a topper as she spins in the chair. “Why won’t you tell me what happened in the closet?”

Maggie inhales through her nose before exhaling. “Nothing happened. We talked for seven minutes and then you opened the door.” They both sounded like broken records and Maggie swore this is all they’ve talked about ever since the party. “I thought I was your best friend.” Amber grabs onto the desk, halting her spinning. “We tell each other everything!” She crosses her arms and Maggie’s eyes glance at her pushed cleavage before meeting her green eyes. “But it’s the truth!” The mattress of the bed squeaks as she shifts her weight. “You know I tell you everything.”

Maggie’s stomach clenches as the words leave her mouth. She runs a hand through her pin straight hair and Amber’s eyes narrow at the movement. The chair rolls away as she makes her way to the bed, a hot pink nail pointed at Maggie’s chest. 

“Did you guys make out?” Amber turns away from Maggie’s gaze, her finger fidgeting with a lock of hair. “If so, I don’t know why you won’t tell me–he’s perfect for your first kiss!” “God, Amber. For the last time, we didn’t make out!”

The ding of Maggie’s phone snaps the head of the teenage girls to the notification on the illuminated lockscreen. It’s a photo of them at the flower garden festival last spring, Amber’s arms around Maggie, the both of them laughing.

“Oh my god! Is that him?!” 

The breath gets knocked out of Maggie as Amber leaps onto her like a monkey, arms outstretched. Her back bounces on the gray sheets of the bed and her scalp pinches as Amber’s hand pins her black hair to the mattress.

“James texted you!” Amber waves the phone in Maggie’s face, a smile plastered on her face.

“Amber!” Maggie’s fingers tickle Amber’s exposed stomach. The blonde squirming as she grips onto the phone tighter.

Amber’s giggles fill the room as Maggie reaches to grab the device from her manicured hands. Her thighs push against Ambers, rolling them over until Amber’s golden hair splayed out on the bed. Maggie’s hands snatch her phone out of Amber’s soft ones, her own laugh mixing with Ambers.

Their laughter quiets down, breaths resonating in the room. Amber’s green eyes meet Maggie’s brown ones, dipping to her lips and then back to her eyes. Maggie inched closer, her hands on the gray sheets beside Amber’s curls. 

Warmth bloomed in Amber’s chest, like fireworks sparkling as Maggie leaned in close. Their lips brushing together tentatively for the first time. Amber’s perfume, vanilla and roses, was dizzying, butterflies dancing in Maggie’s stomach. She went in for the kiss, though, warmth enveloping her as Amber's lips soft ones pressed against her own.

“You know, you’re really good at opening closet doors.”

Amber’s eyes crinkle as her cheeks turn rosy. “Shut up and kiss me.”

Storm And A Spring by Chonny Jash😅

So-- Last week my 7 year-old phone started crappin out. Sad. I was able to get my camera roll and videos saved (so no lost bird pictures thank goodness), but I did lose out on most of images saved off the internet. Mostly just memes and other BS, nothing important. But among them was the image I had been using as my lock screen for almost as long as I had the phone. Someone’s digital art I had saved and I really liked it but now that its gone, I was just not able to find it again. I don’t even remember what website I found it on. Tumblr? DeviantArt? Elsewhere? I dug as much as I was able, but alas.

So I decided to try and take advantage of a disappointing situation. I thought to take advantage of the experience I’ve had editing sprites n such and put together a new lockscreen using background, tile and sprite assets from Yoshi’s Island, cause I still really love the art direction of that game.

And I really liked how it turned out. So I thought: WHAT IF... I made more? Made a handful that I could rotate through throughout the year. And so I spent the last couple days slowly working on 8 different wallpapers. Two for each season; switch to the first at the seasonal equinox/solstice, then the second about halfway through (February, May, August and November 1st).

My new phone’s customization options are somewhat... lacking. It auto-crops the images without me being able to decide where or how much. But at least its consistent! So most of them are designed with the knowledge that the outer edge of the images wouldn’t even show up.

Anyway, here’s the images I made! Putting them below a cut because I’m not the kind of person to clog up your dashboard with 8 nearly 1000 pixel-long images, lol
