if i have used a photo taken by you of the young veins performing onstage or with them after a show and you want me to take it down/blur your face out please inbox me! i always always where possible credit the photographer under images and link original sources but if you're not happy with your work being shared on my blog or you have privacy concerns about your picture with the band being reposted im happy to remove it!
i use the uk system of dd/mm/yyyy in the tags, so if you wanted to find pictures from the show on 7 april 2010 for example that will be under #07042010 rather than #04072010. apologies if this is confusing but otherwise i would constantly be tagging things wrong..
if you see a mistake in one of my posts feel free to let me know! i sometimes get place names wrong (especially connecticut i find that one really hard to spell) or other things like that. i dont claim to be a fountain of knowledge about tyv, just a fan who wants to keep all the young veins content i can find in one place!
and shoutout to prettyoddfever for the inspiration to make this blog! i see her account as such a valuable resource for fans of pre split panic so i wanted to make something similar for everything ryan has done post split

NIGHTWISH Won't Tour In Support Of Next Studio Album
Tumblr media
NIGHTWISH has announced plans to take a break from touring and will not hit the road in support of the band's next studio album.
Earlier today (Thursday, April 6),NIGHTWISH released the following statement via social media: "As the 'Human :ll: Nature - World Tour' is drawing to a close, we feel now is the time to tell you of our plans for the next phase in our journey.
"After the planned shows for June 2023 we will be 'hanging up our spurs' for an indeterminate time, as far as live concert performances go, and won't be touring the next album.
"The reasons for this decision are personal, but, we all agree, vital to the wellbeing and future of the band. Be assured that we still love working together, and this decision has nothing to do with Floor's [Jansen, NIGHTWISH singer] pregnancy or our other individual projects.
"However, an album of 12 new songs will see bright daylight in 2024, as will 3 music videos! The band is positively hyped beyond words over this new upcoming musical adventure.
"Stay tuned for updates from our legendary NIGHTWISH band camp & studio this summer!"
Last December, NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen said the band's upcoming follow-up to 2020's "Human. :II: Nature." will be the third part of a trilogy that began with 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album. He told Metal Hammer: "I immediately knew after getting that album ['Endless Forms Most Beautiful'] done that, 'Okay, we have to do more songs about this, because there's so much more to explore and tell the world. We're not done with this.' And the same thing happened after 'Human. :II: Nature.'; we're still not done. So let's do one more. At least one more.
"In a way, [the next album] is the third part of a trilogy, which started with 'Endless Forms…' and then 'Human. :II: Nature.' There are some major surprises there again, but it feels like a natural continuation to 'Human. :II: Nature.'"
According to Tuomas, NIGHTWISH's next LP will cover previously uncharted ground while continuing in the more cinematic style that has characterized some of the band's recent efforts..
"The wonderful thing is that we have had the demo [of the album] done since last spring. So it's been done for six months now. We really have all the time in the world to go through it all, and we have had a such great time with the band, just listening to the demo in our hotel rooms — me singing the lyrics and the melodies to Floor [Jansen, vocals]. She's recording them and then she's seeing them and throwing ideas to each other."
Last September, Tuomas was asked if NIGHTWISH's upcoming LP will once again be an exploration of evolutionary science, as was the case with the previous two releases. Tuomas said: "Yes and no. It sails on the same waters, but there's some new surprises there as well."
Holopainen went on to say that NIGHTWISH fans will have to wait a while before hearing new music from the band. "We'll enter the studio next year and the album is gonna come out maybe early 2024," he said.
In August 2022, Tuomas told Rock Sverige that he spent "about a year" working on the music and lyrics for the next NIGHTWISH album.
Asked if he got any kind of inspiration from the pandemic, Tuomas said: "Yeah, lyrically there's a couple of things that reflects the pandemic, but not in the way you would expect."
"Human. :II: Nature." was released in April 2020. The follow-up to 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" was a double album containing nine tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters, on CD 2.
In August 2022, NIGHTWISH announced the addition of bassist Jukka Koskinen (WINTERSUN) as an official member of the band. Koskinen, who made his live debut with NIGHTWISH in May 2021 at the band's two interactive experiences, had spent the last year touring with NIGHTWISH as a session musician.
In November 2022, Floor revealed that she was "cancer free" after recently undergoing surgery to have a tumor removed following a breast cancer diagnosis.
Last month, Floor and SABATON drummer Hannes Van Dahl announced that they were expecting their second child. Jansen and Van Dahl already have a six-year-old daughter named Freja, who was born on March 15, 2017.

Okay I could NEVER be as good as the OG calendar anon but I thought I’d make one since they’ve gone missing. Hopefully y’all like it! <3
January: Happy New Year! Dirty Dominik Mysterio is looking forward to another year of criminal acts and peggings from Mami, he’s so excited at the Judgement Day New Years party that he’s stripped out of all his clothes and has two bottles of champagne going, he pours one dramatically into his open mouth, letting some of it drip out the sides of his lips and down his slender body, the other is held just in front of his dick and balls. He’s holding the bottle there deliberately, not letting us get a look at his junk; only Mami gets to see the goods.
February: Picture the scene: Valentines Day, fancy Italian restaurant, candles everywhere, rose petals surrounding the table. Sitting opposite each other is Tony D and Stacks. Adriana Rizzo is in the background serving cunt (& meatballs!). The two men are sitting so close together, their faces only an inch or two apart, looking lovingly into each other’s eyes. The tablecloth obscures the view for everyone but us, and we can see that under the table Stacks is secretly rubbing his foot against the hardening bulge of The Don.
March: Class is back in session for the Spring Semester at Chase U, but Riley Osborne was late for one of Andre Chase’s lectures. Everyone knows bad behaviour has to be punished! Riley is seen bent over Andre’s desk at the front of the class, his pants dropped to his ankles, with Mr Chase winding his palm back around ready to spank the bare ass of his student. The MVP of Chase U, Duke Hudson is also there, sitting at his desk but with a flushed red face, using a textbook to cover the boner he’s got from watching his twunky tag team parter getting spanked.
April: There’s an Easter egg hunt happening at the PC but Carmelo Hayes (dressed in his slutty crop top and a pair of tiny gym shorts) has been distracted by a trail of candy on the floor leading him into the locker room. His eyes are locked into the candy until they appear on the locker room bench in front of him and stop abruptly in between two powerful oiled up thighs belonging to Trick Williams. Trick is completely naked with a seductive look on his face and is holding an Easter egg in front of his beautiful dick, almost teasing Melo to dig in.
May: The Cinco de Mayo celebrations are underway for Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo in some kind of dance club. You can tell they they were initially dressed in traditional clothes but they have been thrown to the side and they’re now moving their nearly naked and sweaty bodies along to the music. The men are in tiny thongs that leave VERY little to the imagination. They’re dancing on small tables while everyone gazes lustfully at them and their sensual moves, drawn to the cousins curvy and juicy asses. The camera catches Angel mid twerk, while a horny tío slips a few dollars into Humberto’s bulging thong. The Lotharios can’t help it, they love to show off!
June: Summer is the perfect time for volleyball! It’s a Raw vs Smackdown volleyball game for brand supremacy. Austin Theory & Grayson Waller vs The Creeds. Both teams are wearing speedos that are colour coordinated with their brand. We all know Austin’s is not stranger to a blue speedo 😉 Both teams are shining; is it the sun? sweat? baby oil? who cares, they look like gods! Austin is stood to the left of the picture, his shapely ass spilling out of the tiny blue speedo, watching his glistening partner soaring through the air to slap the ball. On the other side of the image, Julius is jumping through the air hoping to block Grayson’s shot, his heavy shlong protruding obscenely from his speedo. Brutus is still face-down on the sand after initially saving the point, his thick ass pointing to the sky.
July: CAAAAW 🦅MURICA 🇺🇸 happy 4th of July y’all! Cody Rhodes loves America so much that he even sleeps in a bed with an American flag duvet! This candid picture was taken of him just after waking up, one half of his body still tangled in the bedsheet, the other above it, with him laying on his stomach. Silly Cody was very tired the night before and went to bed completely naked, so here he is presenting his smooth All American bubble butt to the camera. A sliver of morning sunlight peeking through the window is perfectly illuminating the curves of his body and ass. Gawd bless the U S A.
August: Bash in Berlin is the first WWE PPV to ever happen in Germany, so what better way to celebrate the occasion that with some German delicacies. WWE has superstars doing promotional work across the country. Oh no, looks like someone forgot their lederhosen 🫢 Ludwig Kaiser will have to be naked instead I guess? He’s in a German tavern, holding a massive overflowing plate of thick German sausages in front of his lean muscular body. Luckily for him, one of the thickest sausages is dangling off the plate in the perfect position to cover his own huge meat.
September: Harvesting season has begun for Brooks Jensen and he’s busy trying to fix this goshdarn tractor. Farming is sweaty work so he’s thrown his plaid shirt to the side. He’s stretching himself across the giant tractor wheel to fix the problem, forgetting that he’s wearing a jockstrap under his denim bootyshorts, and his stretching has given us all an eyeful of his fat country ass framed by a few flimsy bits of fabric. Typical himbo!
October: It’s not such a happy Halloween for Dragon Lee since he’s being chased down backstage by cock-hungry zombies! 😨 he was preparing for a match when the outbreak happened so was caught off guard by the attack, they clawed at his glistening body and tore some of his tiny trunks leaving parts of his ass exposed for all to see.
November: It’s Thanksgiving for the WWE roster and many of them are sitting around a long table, ready to feast. But wait, that’s not a turkey in the middle of the table… that’s Jey Uso’s giant ass! He’s completely naked On a large serving platter and surrounded by seasonal vegetables while his humongous cheeks are being used as the table centrepiece and they look as shiny and delicious as a well-basted turkey!
December: Some people need to just stop fighting and kiss-and-make-up, none moreso than CM Punk and Seth Rollins, and what better way to do that than meeting underneath the mistletoe. They’re both wearing adorable Christmas jumpers but the kiss they’re giving each other is far from adorable. It’s nasty, passionate, sloppy, tongues deep inside each others mouths. Punk’s hand has slipped under Rollins’ pants and has a vice grip on his asscheek, while Seth has one of his wrapped around Punk’s throat. Don’t you just love Christmas?!
WELL HELLO CALENDAR ANON (thats what im gonna name u now)... THIS WAS A FUCKING SHOCK! and also so funny cuz costume contest anon sent theirs in just before dfsjsadjadsf

Oh my gosh, I will never get over the life series.
I’ve been seeing a lot of character designs for the Life Series characters, and started thinking about how the clothing would relate to the biome’s environment.
In third life despite the “winter is coming” threats, everything seems vaguely warm. There’s a desert, there’s a swamp, there’s a flower field, the village looks to be in a plains biome- they all point to varying degrees of warmth in the area. Ren’s declaration of winter would have been terrifying, a human defying the state of the world. My guess is that the weather would have caused quite a bit of sweating, and when Ren’s immortal sacrifice took place a chill would have settled on the land, forcing the players to bundle up. Their clothes would initially all be airry and loose and light, made to keep them from over heating. Then in the middle of session 5, people suddenly find themselves in need of thicker clothing. Everything is going against the weather that they had prepared themselves for: a warm spring (warm for the hotter biomes in the world, and it taking place from April 20 to June 8). Blankets and cloaks are hastily thrown over oufits, and rags are stuffed in between the armor plates, all to stay warm. The swamp and desert are still warm, but noticeably less so. It’s inhabitants carry warm garments for when they leave the warmpth. Even the red army finds themselves afflicted by this, all but one are left shivering: Ren. He effortlessly kills, unburdened with suddenly heavy clothes, and unaffected by the weather. The chill remains as a wind after his death.
Then comes Last Life. I noticed a lot of mountains, forests, and rivers. This time the world is cold and rocky. I would assume people would lean towards tight, thick clothing that could keep them warm without tripping them up. Everyone has some of that clothing. If it weren’t for the warnings in chat, you could tell that someone had recently died and respawned due to their shivering and lack of coat. When an ally turns red, you bury their coat. No need to keep them warm anymore. With the sourounding weather and woods, the thick padded clothing provids a lot of advantages… unless you fall in the river. They would freeze and have to remove the coat, while still wet. Just dipping in a finger will give you the chills. The biting weather could reate to the real life weather at the time, started right before the start of autumn, and ending in a chilly month (September 21 to November 16).
Then comes Double Life. Lot of hills, flowers, very smooth. One or two rivers, cliffs, very green(was that an accidental joke?). I think we’re back to warm balmy weather, but it’s not crazy hot like third life, just nice, and warm, and lazy. Fits in with the real life dates of the game going from late spring to early summer (June 17 to July 22). Everyone traversing the deep dark would have created an urge to wear darker clothing, or carry a dark cover to better blend in in the dark, cold cavern. No one seemed that fond of the rivers, so the clothes probably aren’t accommodating of them.
well? What do you think the life series season specific clothing would be like?

Not dead.
But not really here.
However, I want to talk about a deliciously smutty experience and I don’t want to blow up my friends with my slutting about. So if you’re interested, enjoy.
I moved across the country last summer. Which was great but it also meant leaving my play partner/partners behind. While my nesting partner is wonderful, he’s not into the spicier things so I spent June-April starved of the particular release that comes from some quality D/s play.
My spring commitment was to rectify that shit and lord have I.
Last night, I went on a third date and second play session with this lovely Dom. We spent over two hours fucking and drinking champagne.
It was divine.
But what really sent me off into sub space was:
Him telling me to get my glasses and then moving me to the end of the bed to face the mirror and saying into my ear, his fingers buried in my hair:
“I want you to see the faces you make for me.”
And when I looked away (because coming that hard is distracting ok) he pulled my head back up by my hair and growled:
“No, you’re going to watch what I do to you.”
Y’all. Undone. Like, whole body aftershocks kind of undone.
It’s not the first time I’ve played with a mirror but honestly I don’t know if anything is quite as sexy.
Plus the man does aftercare oh so well.
Spring is being kind.

KOKIA in flashback - 2015
The year of 2015 sees KOKIA go on tour in Japan again for the first time in a while, to 'sow the seeds of her music' across the country. She has a lot of radio appearances to promote the tour, which runs from March to April.
She also has a big spring venue performance to promote her new album: I Found You. She does mention how her plans for next year mean there won't be a big spring performance in 2016, so this will be the last one for the forseeable future.

She's expecting her baby in January 2016, meaning that her final performance of the year in Kawaguchiko in October is starting to cut it close, especially since it's half-open air. The Decemberists Announce New Album
The Decemberists will release As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again, on June 14th. Today, The Decemberists have announced their new album, As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again, out on June 14th via YABB Records (Thirty Tigers). The band returns with their 9th studio album after a 6 year hiatus, with a remarkable double album produced by lead-singer Colin Meloy and Tucker Martine and featuring guest appearances from The Shins’ James Mercer and REM’s Mike Mills. The album is available for pre-order HEREtoday. To mark the occasion, The Decemberists have released a new song- a 19 minute prog-rock epic titled “Joan In The Garden.”  Listen HERE. Colin Meloy on “Joan In The Garden” “Joan in the Garden” has been kicking around as an idea since the ‘I’ll Be Your Girl’ sessions. I got into a Joan of Arc kick after reading Lydia Yuknavitch’s beautifully batshit novel ‘The Book of Joan.’ I wanted to make my own version of Joan — but the song that came was as much about the creative process as it was about the actual woman, about angelic visitation and creative visitation and the hallucinogenic quality of both. As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again is not only the longest Decemberists album to date (and their first intentional, proper double-LP, split into four thematic sides, no less) but also their most empathetic and accessible, its 13 songs like semaphores of mutual recognition for our fraught times and faint hopes. The existential slog and capitalist vexation of “The Reapers,” the opiated delusion and jumbled jingoism of “America Made Me,” the guileless tenderness and absolute surrender of “All I Want Is You”: As It Ever Was is the redemptive testament of a band finding new communal hymns by revisiting several old modes at once. This, Meloy will tell you proudly, is the best Decemberists album—perhaps even the ultimate realization of 22 years of work. As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again rings with the urgency and ardor of right now, maybe more than ever before.  Last month, the band teased the new album with the release of the single, “Burial Ground.” “The Decemberists are so back,” declared Flood Magazine. "’Burial Ground,’ revives the band’s warm, familiar folk-rock sound,” said Paste Magazine. “Frontman Colin Meloy’s buoyant vocals carry genuine eagerness and charm as he sings of graveyards over twinkling instrumentation. Loose guitar and flourishes of horns embellish the whimsical track, giving off a Beach Boys-style vibrancy.” The Decemberists will head out on an expansive North American tour with both spring and summer legs. The tour kicks off on April 30th in Kingston, NY at the Ulster Performing Arts Center and wraps up in August on the West Coast. Highlights include the Brooklyn Paramount Theater on May 3rd, The Salt Shed in Chicago on May 21st and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on May 24th. The band will return to their home turf, wrapping the tour in Troutdale, OR on August 3rd at McMenamins Edgefield. All tickets are on sale now with a full list of tour dates below. For 20 years The Decemberists have been one of the most original, daring, and thrilling American rock bands. Founded in the year 2000 when singer, songwriter, and guitarist Colin Meloy moved from Montana to Portland, Oregon and met bassist Nate Query, keyboardist Jenny Conlee, and guitarist Chris Funk, The Decemberists’ distinctive brand of hyperliterate folk-rock set them apart from the start with the release of their debut EP 5 Songs in 2001. After making their full-length debut with Castaways and Cutouts in 2002, the band signed with Kill Rock Stars for the release of the acclaimed albums Her Majesty the Decemberists (2003) and Picaresque (2005), which was produced by Chris Walla. The 2004 EP The Tain – an 18-minute single-track epic – made the band’s grand creative ambitions clear.   Around this time the band’s permanent line-up fell into place with the arrival of drummer John Moen, and they made the unexpected leap to Capitol Records for their first major label album in 2006.… https://chorus.fm/news/the-decemberists-announce-new-album/

earth-65 timeline thoughts
gwen kills peter at the prom, which would've taken place in may 2013 or 2014. even though the fact sheets say gwen was a senior when the janes were founded, and gwen's betty's ex-roommate in what's clearly a dorm-style living situation, her aging's slowed later on, so it looks like it was the junior prom and gwen's taking a gap year after her senior year instead of being a college dropout. also it appears that harry never finished school and went straight to the military instead of attending his senior year, or he's a year older than gwen. and the mary janes are... somehow already a band when gwen's a junior during her first week as spider-woman. the early days continuity's a mess. ugh. anyway. the one thing we know for sure is peter dies in may.
gwen's first issue takes place in about april 2015, about 2 years after she gets her powers and kills peter. gwen then spends a "few months" trapped in another dimension after the spiderverse event before she finally makes it home in time for most wanted.
issue 6 gives us something to go off: murdock's concert ticket is timestamped. the concert takes place on june 6 2015... even though for some reason the girls are dressed like it's winter and talk about being too broke to afford winter hats.
the goblin arc takes place during summer. the group mention as much. gwen works at the dollar dog during this time, for about a month.
clone conspiracy has to have happened around here, and gwen was in 616 for a few weeks.
when weapon of choice kicks off, it's autumn.
issue #13 takes place on halloween.
issue #14 takes place on thanksgiving.
issue #15 takes place around christmas.
sitting in a tree is clearly a valentine's event, but so much shit happens near the end of the latour run that it's got take place in january. also gwen's being referred to by bendis as 18, which she isn't.
gwen goes on the run with harry for at least a week in "predators" (long enough to get a tan), is rampaging as venom for maybe a month in "gwenom" and the night before her arrest it's snowing. so at the latest, it's late february 2016.
gwen's trial takes six months, so she's convicted and sent to prison in august 2016.
gwen is released in august 2017, exactly 365 days after her incarceration.
the mcguire run kicks off 52 days after gwen's release. after being stranded for a few days in 3109 during a spiderverse event, gwen heads to a community college's registrar's office while school appears to be in session, so it's late september at the earliest.
gwen goes to school long enough to establish a routine, so that's at minimum a month before she's exiled, which would mean that happens in october 2017 at the earliest. also somehow she's subject to cradle laws, so she's 20 at the oldest. even though it's been over 2 years since she was 19 at the start of the latour run. oh well. i guess gwen's been retconned to 18 at the start, turning 19 before she's convicted, and then 20 while she's in jail. and that peter dies much closer to gwen's first adventures as spider-woman.
big ??? about king in black, last remains, the shathra possession or gwenverse.
shadow clones confirms that gwen's been working at the smoothie shack for three months, so gwen's returned to her home dimension (which happens at some point between gvc and the shathra event) for that length of time, minimum. no snow on the ground, so it can't be winter.
and since gwen's annual takes place during the school year, it must be spring 2018. anyway whether the comics admit it or not gwen's 21 by now. the latest gwen's birthday can possibly be is april, to make her 18/newly 19 at the start of her chronology.
since gwen's not in college during the events of smash, i'm guessing it's spring break or summer 2018. or she's skipping. and that takes about a month because gwen's tour would've lasted about a week, plus a few more to make emjarnage's meltdowns a familiar routine. also, gwen and the girls drink what looks like alcohol during this event, so she's gotta be 21.
and sgtgs/the philips run picks up five days into gwen's second exile to 616. so one week after gwen's promising to be there for her friends, she's gone again. and is being called a teenager. and doesn't seem to be in college. best case scenario she's cutting class or it's just summer break.
so overall the latour run condenses to just under one year, add one year for her prison time, and the mcguire run plus the minis taking about an academic year and you get: gwen’s been a hero for five years, and it’s been three since the start of her chronology.

What is the Duration of Summer Holidays in Schools in Alaska?
Most kids would agree that summer break is the most fun time of the year, even though some adults may think the winter months of December and February are the best. A common concern is the length of the summer vacation. It may help if you're trying to arrange a family trip or enroll a child in school. The answer to this question is essential for planning a family vacation because it may affect how and where you stay. Wherever your child's school accepts new students is where you should live.
When Does the Break Begin and End? The break from the school usually begins in late spring or early summer; thus, labeling it "summer break" is inaccurate. Late June is when youngsters return from break. They typically leave school in late April. In that instance, they may migrate into fall.
The school district and school your child attends in the US determine when summer break begins and finishes. Summer break is typical for the end of May or early June through early September. According to the Alaska homeschool allotment, the North-western students frequently break for the summer in May and return in early August. In much of the US, that means a 9–12-week holiday from school. If you require precise dates, contact the school or look online.
Because each district and board selects when school begins and concludes, many people must work around widely variable schedules. Most states require schools to be in session for at least 180 days each year, so they build a timetable incorporating summer, winter, and critical national events. Do Home-schooled Kids Get a Break During the Summer in Alaska? The solution to this problem depends on several factors, including the type of curriculum chosen, the child's learning style, the family's schedule, and individual needs. Many parents prefer to educate their children at home since it gives them greater control over their kids' education per the Alaska homeschool allotment. Improvements in online education have made it possible to educate your child without leaving your home. Participants in programs in home schools in Alaska have access to the same teachers, resources, and curricula as those enrolled in traditional public schools. It used to be that parents were in charge of this. Sticking to your regular routine throughout the summer makes the most sense. It allows students to work at their own pace while preventing them from falling academically behind. A chance to skip a grade is a fantastic way for bright young kids to get a head start on their secondary education. As long as the plans of the home schools in Alaska adhere to the bare minimum requirements set by the state, parents have a lot of discretion in how they educate their children. Many parents find it helpful to have their kids do less schoolwork in the warmer months so they can spend more time outside of the house doing things they enjoy. Due to the short duration of summer in the United States, it is imperative to appreciate this time of year while it lasts fully. That can mean going to the mountains or somewhere far away from home for the weekend. The best way to enjoy this summer is to spend it doing things you want with the people you care about.

Annual General Meeting
Chairman’s Report 2021-22
Annual General Meeting
                 5th September 2022
www.addlestonesingers.tumblr.com
We have come back after Covid to celebrate our 50th anniversary year in 2022.
On 7th May we were proud to be presented with a certificate in recognition of raising over £10,585.56
for Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.
Our May concert added an extra £540.95 to this total.
Rehearsals
It was wonderful to be back rehearsing together as Covid restrictions eased.  In September we continued to rehearse in the main hall at Addlestone Community Centre.  The Methodist Church was not open for the early part of our year.
Rehearsals ran
Monday 6th September to concert on 6th December
Monday 10th January to concert on 14th May
There were not sufficient members available to make a Summer singing session viable.  Our Musical Director ran 2 of her singers workshops locally for those who wanted to take part.
Our Monday rehearsals are from 8pm to 9.45pm with a break for refreshments.  From time to time we will have a ‘Bring and buy’ or sales of books, hats and other knitted items
Concerts
Our Christmas concert was held on Monday 6th December in Addlestone Community Centre with guest artists Chertsey Orchestra,  on behalf of Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.  It was lovely to see about 70 people in the audience,  so pleased to be back to live music after so long of being unable to do so.  We still observed social distancing guidance.
Thanks to Tesco for their donation of some mulled wine and mince pies.
Our 50th anniversary Spring concert was held on Saturday 14th May, again in the Community Centre with guest artists Chertsey Orchestra, where we sang songs chosen by the ladies.  Each member was wearing a golden brooch in the shape of a treble clef which had been presented to them the previous week to mark our 50th year.  We started the concert with the National Anthem in recognition of the forthcoming Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Singing at Other events
On 9th December some of us gathered round the piano at the Community Centre to lead audience singing of well known carols at an afternoon Tea party.
We also gathered round the piano at the Community Centre for the Jubilee Indoor street party on 4th June.
On both occasions there was enthusiastic singing from the audience.
We were unable to sing in Care Homes while Covid restrictions continued.
Social Events
As the year progressed and we were able to mix more socially, we held the following events
Cake and Quiz afternoon Tuesday 5th April
Picnic at Cowey Sale Monday 16th May
Sunday 24th July Cream tea at Sarah’s provided by herself and her husband.  Lovely afternoon!
See over for page 2
Musical Director and Pianist
Our Musical Director, Susan Higgins is in her 21st year with us.  We thank her for guiding and leading us through our musical journey.
We are lucky to have 2 Accompanists who were able to provide cover throughout the year, Janet Mannan in her 18th year with us and Tom Higgins who had supported us so well while we were singing on Zoom the previous year.
Membership
We continue to have a solid core of members.  Unfortunately not everyone was able to return having been unable to meet in person for well over a year.  Our membership for the Christmas session was  18 members, with 22 in the Spring term.
Unfortunately the lower membership has had an impact on our financial position, which will be reported by our Treasurer.
Committee
Our wonderful committee has continued to work tirelessly to meet all the challenges that have arisen and kept the choir together during what has been a very difficult 2 years for everyone.
Our helpers
If I mention anyone in particular I am bound to leave someone out.  Enough to say that we are so grateful to our friends and family members who support us in everything we do.
Membership of other groups
We continue to be affiliated to the Addlestone Community Association.  We will continue to attend meetings as they resume.  We continue to organise our Public Liability Insurance through a group of those who were previous members of the Runnymede Arts Association.
Addlestone Community Centre
Our thanks go to the team at the Centre for making us welcome and supporting our events throughout the year.
Music Library
Our music continues to be  located in the Methodist Church.
Repertoire
We have been fortunate to get together a good collection of music which has meant that it has not been necessary to buy new music.  This has been particularly valuable while we have all been getting used to singing back together again
Christmas 2021
50th anniversary    Spring 2021
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
A whole new world
Because of Him
Beauty and the Beast
Ding dong merrily on high
Bring me sunshine
Go tell it on the mountain
I could have danced all night
Joy to the world
I got rhythm
Santa Lucia
I know him so well
Shepherd’s pipe carol
I say a little prayer
Silent night
It’s a grand night for singing
Star Carol
Medley from Les Miserables
The Colours of Christmas
Thank you for the music
The Future
We have plenty to look forward to as we welcome new members.  We will continue celebrating our 50th anniversary year and look forward to  2023. More concerts, more raising money for charities, more social events.
