Today was much better than yesterday.
I made up for the skipped gym workout and went for a run in the afternoon (5 km).
And to show you how incredible I am, I will tell you that I have just smashed my head into the fridge door so violantly that I started to cry like a baby and I already have a huge bulge on my forehead.
I was trying to get raspberries from the freezer and thought I was pulling the freezer door but, stupid me, I was pulling the door from the fridge and it opened and hit me hard. Every day, I get more and more amazed at how more overworked I can get :/
Breakfast: smoothie with banana and strawberries
Lunch: salad with scrambled tofu and tahini dressing, a slice of rye toast
Dinner: quinoa veggie salad and one orange
Snack: a glass of wine - because I really, really needed it after the crash with the fridge.
Hope your evening is going better than mine :)

June 1, 2019 - Another 10K bites the dust (and we didn’t)!

This morning was the 43rd annual River Run, and for the third year in a row I took part in the 10K run. Last year I was joined my my grandson Jordon (left in photo above), and this year Jordon and I were joined by my 12-year-old granddaughter Savannah (right in photo).
As you see in the pic, we all finished the race and are wearing our medals. Jordon finished the run in 1:33:25, and Savannah crossed the line at 1:40:22. The old guy in the middle finished in 1:50:42... a bit off my pace from the last two years, so I will confess I am somewhat disappointed. But the important thing is we all finished the run, and I am proud of both of my grandchildren!
Perhaps it’s a grandfather’s silly pride talking but... I arranged for a ride home for the three of us after the run, and I see now I should have been more patient. Savannah was one of only two 11-12 year old girls running, and she had the better time... which means she WON her age group! I surely would have stuck around if I’d known they were going to call her name as the winner of girls in her age group!

Spring into 2019
Week One Progress Report
Week One of Spring into 2019 is officially complete! I didn’t do as well as I want, but I think that’s kind of the point? The only place for me to go is forward :)
Drink 2.5-3 L of water per day—I was successful only one day, the start of the challenge 😬 Like I said though, I can only improve!
Attend 1+ fitness class per week—I actually attended two!!! One on Monday (Zumba) and one on Saturday (Crossfit) 🤩
C25K—I did 2 out of 3 of the first week’s program. So, I still did some, but I’m a little behind 🏃♀️
Take my vitamins everyday—I took my vitamins 3 out of 7 days this week. Again, not perfect, but it’s better than zero times 🤷♀️
Do my laundry 1x per week—I will say that I did-ish. I sorted my laundry, and I was able to do one load. But my mom needed to do laundry, so I let her have the washing machine. But I fully intend to finish it this week! I did another load this afternoon 🧺
Wash my face 2x per day—I was able to wash my face in both the morning and the evening 3 out of 7 days this week. Again, not perfect, but better than just washing it in the morning 🌟
Overall, I have to be proud of myself. Lifelong habits aren’t made overnight 💓

Spring into Week 4/5/6
I am back after being a bit absent with my research trip! But I am back on land and thriving! Some fun things that have happened in my life since I have posted last:
1) I was on a two week research trip (which I found out I do not get seasick),
2) I celebrated my 21st birthday (on a dry boat then got to spend time out after),
3) Applied to graduate from college
4) May get offered a job doing some fishery stuff as well as some volunteering stuff
5) Finally broke my weight plateau (pretty sure I dropped down to around high 220lbs, but gained some back due to my celebrating but am back at 236lbs so still good)
Physical:
✔️ ✔️ - Get back to being on super strict keto = 7 days for all but the last week due to some drinking fun
✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Drink at least 2L of water a day = 7 days
- ✔️ - Go weightlifting twice a week (hard to do on a boat)
- ✔️ ✔️ Go spinning three times a week
✔️Go bouldering at least twice a month = Completed this for the month
✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Hit my fitbit steps and stair goals everyday (12,000 steps and 10 staircases) = ? (I forgot to wear my fitbit, so no clue if I made the steps or not, I totally made the stairs though)
Mental/Emotional:
✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Take time to meditate three times a week
✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Do one self-care thing (bath, face mask, movie, etc) a day
✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Learn to trust the process, meaning weighing in only once a week
✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Go out and do something every two weeks that is special for me
- ✔️ ✔️ Doing a minimum weekly check in post on tumblr

1/4/2019
Guess who is sick again :/ Luckily, this time it looks like just a cold with a runny nose so I managed to do my workout (shoulders and inner thighs).
I am a bit upset about my thighs - they have got so much bigger this winter and I can see the layers of fat around them and it makes me anxious. I can´t wait for the days when it is warm enough outside for a run! I hope my thighs will get nicely shaped again once I run regularly :)
Breakfast: oatmeal as usually
Lunch: vegan pancakes with home-made plum jam and ground walnuts
Dinner: salad with hummus and knackerbrot
P.S.: I am not really sure about the rules for posting under the hashtag springinto2019 so if I am doing it wrong or I am missing out on some rules/compulsory posts, please let me know! :)

It looks as if I’m gonna be stuck at the desk for another double shift tomorrow, Memorial Day, so I thought I’d risk it and go out for a run today. The rain was threatening but held off long enough for me to get in a four mile run.
At the end of my regular route, there is a church that traditionally puts up a row of flags on special days such as July 4th, Veteran’s Day, and of course Memorial Day. As I approached the end of my run, I paused to take a selfie. I tried to angle it so I could get in some of the flags in the background. At least I got a few in there!

Quick Update
My Spring Into 2019 goals are coming along so well! I still haven’t weighed myself because I haven’t been to the gym or to the doctor (both of which need to happen soon), but as far as everything else goes I’m so happy.
Water: 6/7 days last week, just missed Sunday! Still hanging at around 80 oz. per day.
Food: no fast food! It’s getting easier every week. Plus my lunches were on point last week and my dinners weren’t too bad. I ate a lot of tortillas, though. My snacks are getting healthier, too! I have peanuts and hummus and dried apricots and pumpkin seeds now.
Running: only ran twice but I finished C25K out with a bang! So I’m pretty okay with that.
Tracking: I stopped tracking food so much. I think it’s useful in that I eat more whole (simple) foods because they’re easier to log, but as long as I’m keeping that mindful habit I think I’ll be okay without it. Also on days when I don’t wear my Fitbit, it makes it look like I’ve overeaten when I’ve only eaten like 1500 calories and I really don’t love that. It just seems kind of inaccurate and unhealthy. I’m still tracking my mood and I had so many happy days last week! So that’s cool.
Reading: I read a ton last week! I finished a book!

So i got off the couch and went outside today. i tried walking a lap and then running a lap and got 4 reps of that pattern done (almost a mile) before my feet and lungs gave in. The pace i set felt good though i couldve done it longer but i think the hillside was throwing me off. Pretty good though since i havent ran in over a year and i havent walked that trail in probably a month
🏃🏃🏃
Im exhausted now tho lol my stamina has become shit and it wasnt great to start with

April 6, 2019
Post-workout selfie and post-workout porridge. I decided to take one of the virtual group classes at my gym. Seeing as I pay for the gym and I’ve only been 3 times. The screen didn’t work for the first 10 or so minutes. Just followed someone who had taken the class before for that part.

6k run
14k steps
I wonder if sleep deprivation is a good remedy for my procrastination/executive dysfunction problem... I slept 3 hours tonight, started to work at 4 a.m., and in the afternoon, I baked bread, did a round of laundry, cleaned the kitchen floor and part of my room, emptied the dishwasher and went for a run. Then made dinner and played the ME3 multiplayer with friends for two hours ... And I still don't feel very tired 😮.
I still hope I'll sleep better tonight 😓.
Food was good 😊 (dinner was Sichuan vegetable stir fry). I didn't have any candy yet, so I'm carefully thinking about if I even want it 🤔. Fresh bread meant that I indulged in a bit of it with butter, chives and salt 😋.
I'm extremely happy about/proud of being so productive today and of being the one to reach out to my friends about gaming.

This was such a good Saturday!
I spent the morning cleaning my apartment and, after lunch, I spent 4 hours gardening with my father. I didn´t feel like going at first but he needs help there and I know that every time I work in the garden I feel so relaxed afterwards.
I also found out that it is a great calorie burner! I walked around 5 kilometres and burnt a lot of calories (I am not sure how much was the gardening responsible for but my watch shows 3000 calories burnt for the whole day and I usually burn around 2300 on days when I go to the gym)
I went to the gym afterwards just to quickly work on my chest and triceps because I didn´t get to do it yesterday (as planned).
Now I am getting ready for the movies with my bf and his brother :)
Breakfast: turmeric porridge
Lunch: rye toasts with hummus and sun-dried tomatoes
Dinner: pasta with tofu, olives and hummus (I cooked anything that was left in my pantry but it was really good)
Have a great rest of the weekend!
