character lore for my ocs that i thought of while drawing today

sprucetail got the scar on her leg when she was freshly apprenticed; she slipped and lodged her leg into a crevice in one of the many streams on willow guild land, which caused her to be held mostly underwater. ottercall, her mother, and hazeldown, her sister, managed to free her quickly, but not cleanly. she was afraid of water for a while, only getting over that fear effectively right before the comic starts

sunnyheart is dandelionleaf's only surviving kit after she had two stillborn litters. dandelionleaf's body was put under too much strain during her pregnancies, though, leaving her back and her hind legs weak and prone to giving out. sunnyheart is the light of her life (hehe) and she would do absolutely anything for her.

I have a trio of warriors ocs who are siblings and are called Sixfoot, Mooneye and Sprucetail. Their mother was a rogue and they’re a bit inbred because she lived in an absolute shit colony (ignoring normal clan genetics for the sake of a joke, bear with me). Sixfoot has polydactyly because of this and has giant front paws and Mooneye has like. Bulging and fucked up eyes, hence the names. Sprucetail has an overbite and is missing an eye, but that’s not relevant to his name. Mooneye is cartoon mad scientist evil for shits and giggles and her brothers just… go with it, cos they are bullied for not being born in a clan, and have to keep an united front. Sprucetail has a scrungly little apprentice that they all try to wrangle into at least half-competence to not look like complete losers, but Goosepaw just sucks. Anyway my point here is that while in English the trio’s names aren’t that funny, if you translate them to Finnish they all start with “kuusi”. Forged their lore in the fires of mt. Doom to make valid reasons for a silly joke

Recap: Session 2

The Patrol 

--- Six raccoons are found in the bush! The largest one attacks Beetleshadow and inflicts a heavy wound on her. 

--- Beetleshadow attacks the large grey raccoon, Sandpaw and Ferretrunner attack the dark grey raccoon, and Thunderstrike attacks the dusky grey raccoon. Small hisses can be heard from the bush. 

--- Thunderstrike takes heavy damage and Beetleshadow encourages her to run, but Thunderstrike doesn't listen. 

--- Sprucetail and Nutflower hear the fighting and come to help! 

--- Sandpaw runs to get help and, after falling in mud, discovers Marshpaw's patrol. 

--- Marshpaw, Thistlestream, and Duststep return with Sandpaw to help the battle patrol. 

--- The patrol kills the adult raccoons, and the juvenile raccoons flee across the Thunderpath. 

--- Part of the patrol moves the raccoon bodies to the Thunderpath, and the rest of the cats return home.

In Camp 

--- Rosekit is sitting alone outside the nursery. Mimickit goes to talk to the elders. Mothkit grumpily decides that she will sneak out to go find Sootfrost. 

--- Snowbloom tries to organize his herbs after the kits mess them up. Ravenflight asks him to join a patrol with Dewwhisker and Spiderbite to the farmland to gather flowers for the festival. 

--- The patrol leaves to the farmlands. 

--- Toadkit talks to Rosekit and Mothkit before Mothkit can sneak out. Mothkit ignores him so Toadkit just talks louder. 

--- Duckfeather tells Mimickit a story. 

--- The nursery kits argue. Then, Mothkit suggests that they go look for butterflies and bugs at the edge of camp. She sneaks off while the other two are looking for bugs. Toadkit chases her but loses her. 

--- Rosekit catches a bug and shows it to Duckfeather. 

--- Boulderpounce scolds Rosekit for bringing a stinkbug into the elders' den! Rosekit tosses it away. 

--- Lichenfang catches Mothkit. Lichenfang tells her she can't go out alone, so they agree to look for Sootfrost together. 

--- Rosekit talks to her brother, Otterpaw. Mothkit convinces Flamekit to sneak out with her, but they get caught by Stoneleap. They are grounded for a quarter moon. 

--- The farmlands patrol returns with the flowers.

The Farmlands  

--- Dewwhisker, Spiderbite, and Snowbloom talk about what happened at the Clan meeting. 

--- The patrol reaches the farmlands. Spiderbite sees the blue flowers and collects them. 

---  Snowbloom sees the red flowers but fears that they are guarded by the turkey. Spiderbite sneaks over to them and collects them. 

--- On his way to the yellow flowers, Dewwhisker falls on his face and alerts the turkey! He quickly collects the yellow flowers and the patrol flees. They see and hear a dog on the island before they return to camp. 

--- The patrol returns to camp and gives the flowers to Ravenflight!

1) Beetuft

i want to start this off by saying that at first i thought this said beeftuft, and now im considering visiting an optometrist

bees actually come in more than just yellow with black stripes, but if we’re basing this off what a normal honey bee looks like, i think bee- would work for a  rufous black (meaning a very red-tinted black tabby, look up toygers and bengals for an idea of what i mean)

ive said before that -tuft would work for a semi-longhair or longhair cat, especially one with tufts of long hair on their ears. look up somali cats for an example of a semi-longhair, rufoused black tabby. somalis are ticked tabbies, but it’d work for any kind of tabby pattern

2) Sprucetail

spruce- would work for black or chocolate tabbies, spruce bark is dark and kind of washed out, but it’s brown enough that it could work for either

-tail is a good appearance suffix. there’s no shame in using more common appearance suffixes; i find that trying to find a unique suffix isn’t always the best route. sprucetail might have a lot of white spotting with only her tail having color, or maybe her tail is very fluffy and looks like the fluffy-looking branches of a spruce tree

I have a leader of a WIP clan I am making. She/Applestar is a tiny red cat and she (Applestar has several traits/personality quirks from myself) is mates with her deputy, named Sprucetail (placeholder name, from my GF, as that's her OC for my clan) and the other cats know this, at least most of them do, and support them. The previous leader was nonbinary, as well. I haven't given them a name yet, though. Perhaps Moon-something.

Sprucetail

Sprucetail of NightClan is littermates with Pinewhisker. Ever since her brother’s throat was nearly ripped out in a border skirmish she is fiercely protective of him and rarely leaves his side. She snaps at any cat that belittles him no matter their rank, this has gotten her banned from Gatherings for the foreseeable future. She has a score to settle with that wretched SunClanner, Blackfang, who thinks he can taunt her brother after almost taking his life in battle and mocks his grizzled and hoarse voice. Although her brother tries to assure her he’s fine and tells her to keep to the warrior code, she dreams of meeting Blackfang in battle and ripping him to pieces.
