“You're the sun, you've never seen the night
But you hear its song from the morning birds
Well, I'm not the moon, I'm not even a star
But awake at night I'll be singing to the birds.”
THE WAY THAT THEY BOTH SEE EACH OTHER AS THE SUN ARGHHHHHH WAS COLORING THIS PANNEL WHEN THIS SONG CAME UP AND STARTED SOBBING

Okay, follow my (chaotic) line of thought. Shen Yuan attempting to hide Luo Binghe's heritage from Shen Jiu but Shen Jiu is willing to just throw his brother across the room for the more ridiculous excuses he's cooking up after the conference.
Like shen jiu started putting random excuses in a jar, pulls it out 9 each week like a weekly bingo and just puts it into an order and plays it. The reward to this is him being able to do *1* unhinged thing in return.
Just imagine that with me

I've only read MDZS and TGCF, but is it just me or does MXTX have a thing for abused orphans? Like both HC and WWX are orphans, does it carry over to SSSVS?

SSSVS Shen Jiu,fanfiction thoughts
So, I've heard some discussion about how there are very few SJ fics where he repents, apologizes and how this angers people etc....
So my thoughts are, that's because atonement, being good was never the point of SSVS.
The system
SSVS isn't concerned with morality as much as how much you give into the system. SJ dies because he stopped fighting the role he was assigned he excepted being the scum villain. It's not just about how he abused a child. He did this due to a clear choice to stop trying to be good. After he failed to save his worst enemy. He accepted his role.
While it is a little annoying that SY gets to fight the system in Sj's place coming from an entirely different background without the trauma/ baggage that encourages those from lower classes to enforce the system.
He is none the less the one who starts to find ways around the system. He cheats and eventually gets rid of the system or at least not have to operate within its narrow confines. ( he's also not a good person but this thing is already too long).
LBH
A lot of fans forget this cause abused child, but um LBH has always been a hateful misanthrope who realized playing at being a white locus got you protection and sympathy.
Much like SJ he survived by lying. But while SJ pushed aside all weakness. LBH played it up for manipulation purposes. He was never a good person but LBH was always better at playing the system than SJ. (I argue LBH not being some white lotus still does not mean he should have been abused by SJ.) just pointing out that he's amoral.
Even SY looking at his flashbacks from his life with his mom called him a "blackened lotus" even then. a lot of fans like to blame the sword but even before he got his hands on it. LBH was always just a little bit off as a person. LBG is simply him with the gloves off and the claws and depression on display.
Furthermore even after getting SY love as LBM he never actually becomes a good person. He is ashamed because he raped SY but he never even tries to atone to Ning Ying or anyone else for murder, treachery, lying etc....
Because that was never LBH's arch, it was always about his place in the system, not his morality or how well he lived up to the role of ideal love interest. So many fans judge him through this lens but that's not the point.
LBH was born with more advantages, from the beginning due to being the protagonist. But this luxury came with a harmful role pushing LBH into a role where he was an ideal for other people. Despite the fact it made him miserable. Everyone including SY wanted a stallion protagonist a power fantasy. They could live though LBH just wants to be a house husband. He doesn't want to be emperor of the world.
LBH isn't a good person but he rejects the system and his role in it and seeks his own happiness.
Basically, why are SJ fanfic writers being asked to heap more judgment than other stans on our fav by our own of all people?
LBH gets to wish he could murder anyone who gets close to SY without invoking his wraith and be happy in his cottage-core life. Why isn't SJ allowed to do the same?
While I don't hate SJ atonement fics. Due to the nature of the novels, it's just not a requirement for me personally. Also sometimes, I just want to read about my favs without them being tortured and weepy for being bad people.

Shen Yuan being aro/ace is so dear to me. He's like me fr. I would also read a hypersexual novel and pay zero attention to that and hyperfixate on the monsters
In my brain he's in the spectrum (and I also mean the autism one)
Also he's so gender he transcends it which is slay of him to do
Call Shen Yuan a quadruple A battery in the way he's
Aromantic
Asexual
Agendered
&
Autistic

Bet you all forgot about it! I almost did too! But! I DO have a Moshang fic! Maybe one day I’ll actually put more chapters out there. I have the roughs for the next 5 chapters written out, and would like to share those with you all at least. Anyway, check it out!
***
Cold air nipped at his fingers as he stepped away from the condos stacked along the shore. Not really caring that he forgot gloves, he pushed hands deep into coat pockets and followed the sidewalk along the river. He ignored the chill of the wind and popped his hood against the spray of the water. Open-clawed shadows reached out to snare him, and he ignored those too. So what if he got snatched up? That would be more exciting than all of this nothing he had going on. Reaching the end of the block, he submitted to the clutches of the tree boughs and let darkness pull him up the hill and into the park.

here's some modern bingqiu band au🙇
They were good.
Not sell-out-a-stadium good, but good enough to get the attention of the Jing Peak Label. And for whatever reason, his boss had forced him to leave his office and scout the new talent. As the next heir to the Jing Peak label, Shen Qingqiu felt this task was a little above his caliber. He’d rather be in his office running numbers, looking for places to skim off the top here and there. The only highlight of the night was getting the “VIP treatment;” he hadn’t paid for a single drink yet and he was on his way to being tipsy.
Shen Qingqiu threw back another shot of bourbon and rummaged in his suit jacket pockets for his cellphone. He squinted at the brightness and tried to find the number to the CEO, ready to write the band off as another group of wannabes. Suddenly, the guitar and drums cut off, leaving the bass player.
Throughout the band’s set, the bass player had often been the odd one out, his notes just a hair out of tune from the rest of the instruments. But alone, notes that once sounded like a monster lurking in the shadows, now hit hot and heavy, electric. Some of Shen Qingqiu’s drunkenness lifted as the bass player plucked his strings faster and faster, making the beat quick and dirty. It was a new sound, something that none of the other bands or singers had signed to their label. Yet, the player’s fingers stumbled over a few notes, interrupting the flow, and he looked like an Otaku; long hair in a sloppy ponytail, thin arms and legs, and shorter than average.
Looking at the rest of the band anew, Shen Qingqiu noted that the others were miles ahead in terms of look and skill. What made bands hot was that each member had their own gimmick. They had to be able to stand out alone, but not too much, accenting the other members of the group. As things stood, it was almost as if the bass player was an extra or a newbie stand-in (the latter more likely). But even so…
The sudden eruption of applause snapped Shen Qingqiu out of his wandering thoughts and he looked around the dive bar again. About ninety percent of the patrons were on their feet, applauding loudly and drunkenly. A few even called out for encores. Resigned to his fate for the evening, Shen Qingqiu slowly stood up as well, clapping with much less vigor but twice as loudly.
The bass player noticed him first and his dark eyes widened, his mouth gaping open slightly. While Shen Qingqiu wasn’t a hermit by any means, being recognized so quickly on the spot was a tad unsettling. What a strange kid!  On the makeshift stage though, Luo Binghe was a mess of crashing adrenaline and excitement. If his eyes weren’t failing him, then someone very important had apparently come to their set. But the impossibility of it all had his nerves jittering and his hands clammy. Is it really him?!!!
Shen Qingqiu watched as the bass player scrambled to put his instrument away and then tug on the lead singer’s arm. The lead kept shrugging him off though in favor of trying to talk to their guitarist, a slight woman that curled her hair around her finger every few seconds, who was facing away from him to address some of their fans.
Luo Binghe still couldn’t believe his eyes as he rushed to put his bass away in its case, managing to slam a finger under the lid before successfully securing the clips. The pain didn’t even register as the more he blinked, the less that man disappeared.
“Ming-Fan!” Luo Binghe shouted, reaching for their lead singer. “Ming-Fan, look!”
Ming-Fan, used to (and annoyed by) Luo Binghe’s excitable nature, shrugged him off without even turning around. Ning Yingying was talking to some men claiming to be their “fans.” I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen any of those bastards before…
Just as Ming-Fan was reaching to tap Ning Yingying on the shoulder, she suddenly shifted back and his hand touched her lower back. Ming-Fan felt as if he were electrocuted and he heard Luo Binghe’s sharp intake of breath. Ning Yingying turned sharply, heart in her throat because she had no idea who stood behind her and touched her so casually. Some of her fear evaporated seeing Ming-Fan’s flushed face. However, she quickly noticed Luo Binghe and her heart sprang to new life in her chest.
From below Shen Qingqiu watched with a thin eyebrow raised as the lead’s hand seemed to accidentally graze the woman’s back. Her tight posture seemed to relax though. At first Shen Qingqiu thought it was because she was relieved to see it was him; but she pushed past him in favor of the bass player. The lead stood to the side and tapped his foot angrily for a few beats before turning sharply on his heel to address their drummer.
The woman and the bass player however looked at Shen Qingqiu at the same time, like they were checking he actually existed and was indeed standing in front of them. He couldn’t resist a smirk and small wave in their direction. Even above the den of people Shen Qingqiu heard the woman’s shrill squeal. He felt his cheek twitch, but it was the only outward sign of his irritation. The squeal caught everyone’s attention and they looked from Ning Yingying, to her pointing finger, and finally landed on Shen Qingqiu standing there.
At least I have their attention…
