im feeling especially unwell today about the fact that ford was canonically the one who was the most committed to helping stan get his memory back after weirdmaggedon. i’ve been thinking about it nonstop. that he’d fall asleep next to stan watching old videos of them as kids, that he’d recount as many memories he could think of, that he spent all that time apologizing too?

like as much as they were both in the wrong for everything that happened to drive a rift between them, i feel like this is when ford would finally be able to come back down to earth and realize how much he’s failed stan. because there’s a sizeable chunk of stan’s life, aside from the 30 years he was in the multiverse, that ford knows nothing about. and how does he explain that? how is he supposed to admit to a completely unknowing stan that the reason they were apart for so many years is because stan broke his science fair project? ruined his chances to go to that college, of course, but he made it alright regardless, didn’t he? and what did stan have to go through as a result? all ford knows is that hes been to prison in three different countries. that he once had to chew his way out of a trunk of a car. his life must’ve been so difficult, he was kicked out as a teenager after all, and ford had done nothing to reach out. held this pointless grudge for over a decade.

i just can’t imagine the sheer amount of guilt ford must be feeling. to be the one to recount these memories to stan, it would give him this kind of perspective that he never had before. ford runs from self-reflection. he doesn’t think about the ways he’s wronged the people he cares about because it scares him to come face-to-face with his failures. but now he’s forced to come to terms with the reality of their situation, and the reality is that stan didn’t deserve the harsh consequences of his mistake. the reality is that, no matter how responsible stan was for selfishly ruining ford’s dream, it was ford who so stubbornly kept the distance between them. he was right to be angry. but in turning his back on his brother, his best friend, the person most important to him in the world, ford has fundamentally failed him.

Like, Rhaenyra having children with her muscle man boy toy with her husband’s approval as they are both free to fuck whomever they want, while also kicking this same man out of the picture in order to marry her uncle and produce even more children with him and simultaneously making her uncle’s daughters from his previous marriage live with her and interbreed with her eldest sons is a perfectly fine and stable home environment, but marrying another woman after your wife passes away and having children with her is where you draw the line? On the one hand you’re encouraging Rhaenyra’s batshit deranged family dynamic, but on the other you’re actively supporting the idea that children born to a second wife deserve no love or sympathy from their father or eldest, by 16 years, sister? That’s so fucking sick.

If you actually didn’t give a fuck about moral standards, you wouldn’t bother finding excuses for every single one of Rhaenyra’s actions, but instead of just clenching your asscheeks and owning up to Nyra’s frivolous lifestyle, you’re jumping through hoops in order to desperately prove she’s not immoral and then use that exact code of ethics you turn your nose up at to judge Team Green. i’m teetering back and forth between how helaemond was dealt with in the finale.

on one hand, i hate that they made him go there and yank her around. it’s not what i consider the same domestic abuse as daemyra, but it’s a form of abuse that is expected when a man descending into madness from trauma, power, grief, and the hunger to be good enough. he tried to drag her in a fit of rage and then the next time she threatened him with accusations and told him of his death, he couldn’t even bring himself to show the same rage.

i never expected helaemond to be healthy, because incest is NEVER healthy. but i feel like with the way they’ve been treating aemond this season to seem like the true villain of team green, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. like i love toxic pairings, but this just isn’t something natural for aemond to do, so it feels disappointing. it’s just there to reinforce that aemond is now the big bad and everyone else on team green aren’t as bad compared to him now. helaena is by the general audience’s opinion the purest character, so to have aemond hurt her feels like a way to hammer that home to the audience. not organic at all, not something in his character, just there.

which is why i’m thankful ewan played into helaemond in that moment on the balcony. aemond seems to regret what he did and the only time he’s shown properly crying is when he’s begging her to come with him. trying to appeal to the fact that they are same blood, that they understand each other when others might not. it’s acted and written like a proposal to fuck off to the ends of the earth together, phantom of the opera, anakin and padme, and gothic romance and all. and even when helaena refuses he still is crying, giving paper thin threats that he doesn’t mean, but just because he’s hurt by her rejection.

istg that balcony scene was perfect imo, in the sense that if it was just written a little bit better and didn’t have the looming connotation that aemond is mr villainous prototype used to make everyone who loved aemond from s1 feel humiliated for loving him and poke fun at helaemonds for enjoying their pairing. and now aegon is being propped up for god knows what, whitewashed in the sense that he’s given more development than aemond, helaena, and more characters above all. like nothing is coming from this, i don’t expect the writers to touch upon helaemond and that scene going forward whatsoever. it all felt like a way to get aemond stans to finally turn against him and to make helaemonds feel bad for enjoying the pairing to the point of making it popular. i’d say helaemond deserved better, but truly the entirety of the characters and the show itself deserved better.

so in the end, i may ship helaemond out of spite for what feels like a slap, simply because ewan delivered so hard for it. and i might not, because my efforts feel just so dull and fruitless that idk if i have the will to carry this energy and love for something that went so so wrong. it feels like got s8 where i needed time to recuperate and process everything before deciding what i wanted to take from it as a fan.

How I see p1eces based on their piwon bias:

(I don’t actually see every person who like a specific member in any specific way. This is just for fun and showing some associations I have with p1eces. Also I didn’t talk about their skills because I think every p1ece is obsessed with the members abilities so there’s so need to talk about them)

☆ Theo stans - very funny (especially the Korean fans), super chill but secretely pining over him. Act like they’re not delulu but they are. They would be the people who try being mysterious and fail. They’re not the loudest in the fandom but are very stable (idk why but it made me thing of a pillar that keeps the fandom up). Might skew a bit older than other p1eces? The kind of people who have a job and taxes to pay.

☆ Keeho stans - funny and loud but can be a little annoying. Strongly opinionated but in a positive way where they’re not afraid to speak up and take up space. They might have a good eye for fashion and aesthetics. Don’t always want to date Keeho and see him as a bestie a lot of times. They help the fandom grow with their loudness and passion/engagement.

☆ Jiung stans - very dedicated and supportive. They don’t play about Jiung to the point where it’s a little too much sometimes. Most likely introverted. Possibly good at organising stuff if they have to. Can be a bit intense but rarely have reasons to be. Value authenticity even if the reality pushes others away and prefer it more than perfection.

☆ Intak stans - very passionate and the kind of people who go all in into something. I imagine Intak stans as the people who would giggle and kick their feet with their friends when he does anything cool or attractive. Maybe a little boy-crazy? They’re generally not too jealous and want to share their Intak joy with others.

☆ Soul stans - people who want to emulate his alien swag so badly. They don’t even get amused (or confused) by what he does because they simply understand him. Would move mountains if it meant keeping him happy but also would cry if you told them one mean word. Might be idealistic and the kind of people who look at the big picture.

☆ Jongseob stans - either adults who think he’s super smart and talented and cool and cute and he deserves everything good in this world, or teenagers who have their whole future planned with him. Very down to earth and full of true appreciation for him. Old pictures and videos of jongseob might make them cry. On a mission to let everybody know how talented he is.

Being a Clea stan on top of everything is not an easy task, especially when some Doctor Strange fans or even comic book readers in general make sure to drag her down or simply ignore her feats.

She's been neglected and erased, nerfed and excluded over and over again across the years due to obvious misogyny. She never had the chance to be a powerful sorcereress for almost 60 years.

And when we finally have a writer who cares about her, it's because "he's an average writer" or "she isn't that great of a character/sorceress".

Are we really forgetting that time she was literally the leader of a rebellion against Dormammu? It isn't crazy to acknowledge that, within her own lore and character development, she knows how to fight outside the obvious magical standpoint. Not to mention the tatics required to lead a whole army during a war.

Being a warlord is not far-fetched for her characterization. She embraced this title to protect Manhattan when Stephen was gone, the same way she used her status to dethrone Dormammu.

Besides, she spent years away from Earth. She never had the opportunity to bond with other heroes other than the Defenders, and that's barely acknowledged (Brunnhilde, for starters, is in Valhala, and Patsy hardly interacts with Stephen, let alone Clea).

We're merely starting to see that happening (finally!) while she teams up with other heroes like Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Moon Knight and so on. I've seen Doctor Strange fans who didn't even know Clea. The fact that she's finally getting the spotlight she always deserved is important to consolidate her in the current (and disputed) Marvel universe.

Let's not forget she IS a Sorcerer Supreme as well.

I'm very thankful for all the care Jed MacKay puts into his writing, not only when it comes to Stephen, but the same goes for Clea, Wong, Bats and every adjacent member of the Strange family.

And no, I won't be quiet about her growth and development.

i'm gonna rant, and yes this is about certain screener spoilers from s3 that i've seen circling around the fandom. i've already had to unfollow someone because they were being so rude about this. im defending colin bc no one will.

some polin stans don't treat colin as his own character, they just simply see him as a means to pen's happiness or they treat him like an object. may i remind you the reason why the romance genre is a thing is BECAUSE men did that to women??

so even if these rumors are true, that doesn't mean colin HAS to be perfect in order to deserve penelope, because that is not what bridgerton is about. also, in this time period, sex worked differently! believe it or not! so if colin has a few scenes with sex workers to show how he bends to society's expectation for him or for character development or whatever, then so be it. polin will end up together either way.

to say that colin has "red flags" because he has sex with sex workers and has done drugs is so fucking dumb. do you actually hear yourself? WHAT person on earth do you know that hasn't had sex with someone they don't know or done drugs or both. be realistic. multiple times luke has stated that this season deals with how young colin and penelope are and how they are still finding themselves and navigating how to love under that burden of youth and immaturity. to say colin has red flags and PENELOPE DOESNT? bruh. I am a penelope defender to the death but she has made many questionable choices. These "red flags" are simple human actions, largely made off of good intention, and it doesn't make them evil or mean that they're gonna cheat on each other or anything. it just means that they're multi dimensional, and that they're like us in that way. because literally no one would relate to a character that never makes mistakes.

stop treating colin like he's just a way for penelope to get laid. he is a multi dimensional character like penelope is, which is why they work so well together. to say that these fictional characters can't make mistakes is unrealistic and stupid. the fact that i have to state that colin is not an object is not something new in this fandom. please be better.

the lack of basic human empathy and understanding, from both antis and stans (even though it manifests in different ways), is honestly astounding. antis make those jokes all the time - as soon as dream does it once, quickly deletes it, and apologies, as deafeningly honest and open as he can be, all within minutes, he's the worst human being to ever walk the earth who deserves to have lies and misinformation about him spread for millions of people to see. and on the opposite side his fans demand him to put his feelings below theirs, demand that he stay their perfectly rational streamer they've built in their heads. it's sickening. dream is a person, a human being like the rest of us, and he one hundred percent does not deserve the dehumanization he faces every single day. point blank, no matter what your feelings on him are, negative or positive or even neutral. he is his own person capable of making his own decisions, and more than that he's ALLOWED to have emotional reactions to things that have affected him for the better part of a year. he is allowed to defend himself against the millions of people clamoring for his blood. he's allowed. and fuck you if you think differently.

I feel like enough time has now passed to say that I’ll truly never understand anyone who thinks Mickey assaulting Ian and breaking his leg was justified when Ian didn’t sign that marriage license. Like I just can’t imagine being a fan of them and fully absolving Mickey of that truly awful decision. Especially since the same people will berate Ian to the ends of the Earth for getting cold feet.

I’ve seen Gallavich stans over the years unabashedly admit they hold Ian to higher standards than Mickey and I feel like reactions to that scene are a perfect example of this: Instead of trying to empathise and understand both POVs (whether or not they agree with actions taken by either), Ian is villainised for his very valid and heartbreaking worries surrounding long term commitment and his complete lack of self love, and Mickey is praised for physically hurting someone he loves because his feelings were hurt and he was defensive.

Mickey’s feeling were completely valid, but so were Ian’s. And instead of telling him to go fuck himself and walking away, or allowing Ian to explain himself like he was attempting to, he impulsively threw his boyfriend down a flight of stairs. And then on top of that, tried to taunt him outside his house with his one night stand a day later.

Other than the fact that Mickey is favoured over Ian by most fans, my guess is that a big reason for the lack of sympathy extended to Ian in that episode, is that the average viewer relates more to heartbreak and being let down by romantic partners than they do to emotional turmoil and warped perception of self exacerbated by severe mental illness.

Was it unfair of Ian to show Mickey up like that right in front of the notary? Of course it was. Did he dig a hole for himself by not reading the situation and Mickey’s feelings properly? 100%. But it makes no sense to me that people think Ian was somehow deserving of that punishment.

But because of that, it now means he can’t even get a moment of respite? He should always be 24/7 surrounded by this “darkness?” What??

Cops, CIA agents, even Doctors surrounded by trauma and blood and violence on a daily basis … these people don’t want to come home to more of that ??? They want to come home to peace. Something calm. Quietness. They don’t want what they do, the blood on their hands, to take over who they are as a person.

Like yes, someone’s gotta do the dirty work but you think Azriel deserves to be constantly immersed in that?

This man literally sits quietly in the garden with Elain and listens to her talk about flowers for hours into the night. Have you ever considered that she is the light he needs? She is that quiet moment of calm, that reminder that despite his bleak work, there is still good, light in the world?

Elain is a comforting presence for Azriel. Just as much as his presence serves as a comfort for her.

Also while we’re on that topic, even if we say that okay, fine we need someone who can “handle Azriel’s darkness”. What you are really saying is we need someone not bothered by blood and jumping at violence and willing to get their hands dirty.

Who on earth could that possibly be? Someone in Hewn city perhaps would be the only option, because nobody else we’ve been introduced to in this series is jumping at the chance to do that kind of dirty work.

And if you said Gwyn, I’d suggest you reread the books. Gwyn is a kind, lovely person. She would NOT want to sit there next to Azriel as he tortures a prisoner for answers, or whatever weird ass fantasy her so called stans have cooked up. She fought for survival in the blood rite. She’s not some kind of cold blooded assassin killer. She doesn’t want to get her hands dirty either, she wants to live peacefully and be able to protect herself. That’s it.

And honestly, I don’t get this concept of “Azriel’s darkness” anyways. Man got stuck with his shadow singer abilities and was assigned a horrible job where he has to interrogate prisoners all day. He is not doing this for fun. He is tired of this. It is weighing on him. It is not something he jumped at, it is something he was forced into and assigned. His job doesn’t make him someone who has “darkness”. He has no evil intention, no dark needs. He just got stuck doing all the dirty work in the NC. What he needs is comfort. What he needs is someone to remind him that that’s not ALL he is.
