This might be a dumb theory, but if we see Tech in S3, he isn’t going to be our Tech.

Dr. Hemlock’s Necromancer project might bring Tech back using genetic science stuff or the Force (is this why he needs a clone with a high M-count??) but Tech will be Winter Soldier Tech. He will be Zombie Tech. Because our Tech died at the end of S2 to save his siblings.

Rewatching S2, I think that Tech’s death was set up the whole time. He was featured much more than in S1 and in Clone Wars, and his character developed beyond just being a plot device. He had in-depth conversations with Omega about experiencing emotions and the world in general, he had a brief romance with Phee, and honestly he was just hilarious and adorable in general.

But that Tech is gone. His story is over. And to bring him back in S3, unchanged and alive, would almost be an insult to his memory and sacrifice.

Oh man time to hit the hornets nest again. I loved the Bad Batch finale. I loved the suspense throughout Plan 99. I loved the inclusion of Krennic and mentions of the Death Star. Its small details connecting this show to the larger film timeline that excite me so so much.

But of course, the elephant in the room. I adore Tech's death scene. It is a wonderful conclusion to his character, and frankly I should have seen it coming, with how much they focused on him this season.

I really am torn on if I want him to return, or if I am happy with his story. To revive him would mean nullifying his role in the final two episodes, as well as the character exploration in season 2. It would diminish the effect it has on the audience. But there are ways to bring him back in a way that makes sense and isn't destructive of his sacrifice. But that is difficult, and while I understand the fandom is in denial and is emotionally attached to the character, it is honestly better story-wise for him to remain dead.

Have fun with your AUs and fix-it fanfic and whatnot though, I am quite interested in seeing what the general fandom believes is the correct way to bring him back. Because while I am open to the possibility, I am having a difficult time coming up with a scenario that is not convoluted or an insult to Tech's decision/arc.

Anyway, I'm ready for a showcase of Crosshair and Omega's dynamic 👀 The conflict presented at the end appears to be something that will last longer then a 2-part pilot, and frankly I hope Omega is in custody for at least half the season (if not more). Echo, Wrecker, and Hunter have no clue where Crosshair and Omega are, so it only makes sense for the trio to need more time to gain information. Meanwhile... one-on-one Crosshair and Omega time. I am more than excited for what is to come, and Celebration cannot come any sooner😭

If TBB writers skip over The Big Conversation I will throw hands. I am so sick and tired of every important conversation (mostly the conversation where Omega tells Crosshair about Tech) being skipped over. I fully expect these writers to start Episode 5 with everyone settled in the Maurader with someone's first line being "so that's everything that happened in the past few months." There's a time and place to skip over conversations and this ain't the time for it. No more ambiguity!
