I got enough persona merch to choke a mule including pins and stickers and a persona 5 shirt (including 2 teddie pins for a certain someone, of course). Also I found an it/its pronoun pin which is??? Wild??????
Also I learned DDR hates me, especially the down arrow. That or I suck at DDR, which is probably more likely.
oh god i know that feeling with ddr, it is. not easy lol. my coordination isn’t great to begin with and now i’m on a timer? i’m doomed. it is really really fun tho
and an it/its pin!! that’s awesome!! i really hope you’re enjoying the connnn :))

So I just saw your pinned post and oh my gosh I WANT THE "TAW" I am so excited about that shirt right now
Dang it red bubble took that one down super fast with a copyright claim ☹️☹️☹️ I'll send you the artwork if you wanna get one printed yourself though. Sticker Mule occasionally has sales on custom printed tee-shirts.

All US orders over 35$ get Free Shipping

Etsy Shop Link: here
Sale ends on 07/31/2024
Merchandise relating to LGBT+, DND & Gaming; ranging from shirts and hoodies to stickers and pins! Every purchase helps out an independent trans owned small business!
I've also made a post with alternatives to Sticker Mule for other small businesses to look into here, and if anyone has any they think I should add comment them on the post or reblog it with a link and I can add them to it! (the post also has a screenshot of the email Sticker Mule sent out)
For those who are unaware of what's been going on in the print world, Sticker Mule just made a massive PR flop by emailing everyone who's ever made a purchase through their website, requesting them to support the Dorito Man after what happened on Saturday. You can find the exact statement they sent out on their social media pages as well if you're curious! They can be found on Instagram and Twitter, where in their rebuttal they also state that the Dorito Man is the US president.

Financial Source
For either the future of my sticker sheet small business or another future art based business I would definitely consider crowdfunding as a helpful financial source. Some of my favourite artists have used the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to launch their product or take their art journey and business to the next level. Because of their leveling the rewards in tiers, there is often more than one product or item available other than just the main product they want to sell. There can also be upgrade tiers or “stretch goals” for the original item too. This works great as an artist because there is always more you can create and add to a product or add additional items that go with it. An example I’ve supported is an artist crowdfunding their artbook, but they included different rewards and add-ons you could get and had stretch goals so that if a certain amount was raised there would be upgrades to all receiving the book. Some examples of rewards/upgrades were: additional postcard art prints, stickers, enamel pins, keychains, book’s cover title stamped in silver, etc.
Major things to consider would project viability and marketing. You would need to be set up with a supplier to create or print the items for you and be aware of the demand and amount of orders you are expecting from the campaign; for example, working with a supplier like Sticker Mule for different types of mass sticker creation. For marketing, having a main social media account and a website is hugely important not only to get the word out but to show off your style of art, ideas, planning, and product knowledge. This also helps when customers have questions for them to have an easy way to contact you. Clear timelines and goals are also important to include for a campaign like this, such as having a set start and end date range, having instructions on how the tiers work and what will be included in each, and if there are any limitations, like a limited quantity of stickers or certain design shown.
Example of a successful sticker and pin campaign:

Artbook rewards and upgrades example:

I barely write actual Undertale fics that aren't a commission or whatever I mostly write Recess fics and I have so many ideas and works in progress I want to scream.
Not related to my oc rants
I barely do couples lol.
I have like maybe a handful that I actually care about and aren't just the OCs parents or whatever.
Eloise and Cornelius are my favorites out of all my OC couples. I made them in like college I think.
Anyways
I was supposed to draw some of them during pride month but when you work days on end because you're the only official framer here. . . .
A lady we hired like two months ago resigned, the other guy is taking another position in the store, so we're still looking
But in other news
Tumblr media
Im decorating my apron with pins.
Gonna make an SCP foundation pin through sticker mule. I thought about Undertale ones and I cannot •́ ‿ ,•̀ not brave enough
Make some of my OCs
The color wheel one spins got both from Etsy.
Ideas are welcome
Willoughby would cover her bookbag in pins
Everytime I try to make a tomboy oc Igo through the "there's nothing wrong with being early please don't make her an I'm not like other girls type girl" and I end up dropping the character entirely it's horrible.

Hii I’m an artists who needs help selling online so Im not a starving artist. Pls help
Hello!
Selling online advice... kind of really depends on what you’re looking to sell. There are certain markets that are really saturated, but if you get a leg in you can really succeed. There are some that are all but dead, and you get stragglers every once in a while but it’s mostly your friends XD. There are some that aren’t even a thing yet, and you have the chance to be the first to really get selling in that niche. So, it’s kind of hard to give general advice because it really depends on what things you want to sell. I can give some examples, though.
Pins: A saturated market, but if you’re doing something original you can break in pretty well. A lot of out-of-pocket cost and risk if you don’t know for sure that you have buyers, especially your first time. It also runs a risk of a bad pin-make depending on who you go with, as mistakes happen, and more and more companies are popping up claiming to be the ‘cheapest’ when they’re really just making poor quality pins. I’ve seen great success for first-time and returning pin artists with kickstarters, though! It’s a great way to get the money and orders together in a way that you know will make the order worth the cost, and give you and idea of who’s interested and might come back for another round. I highly recommend doing the research for pin companies, and taking a look at how some folks run Pin Patreons. (A heads up: most pin makers will not tell you who they work with to get them made. They’re kind of secretive about it.)
Stickers: Another market that seems saturated, until you take a closer look and realize that there’s so many unique designs out there and styles of stickers. This is another one where you have to be careful who you print with, if you aren’t printing at home, and if you order before you know you have the sales and interest. It’s another one where people make Sticker Clubs at certain Patreon levels to make it interesting and collect a certain amount of buyers that you’re sure will cover the cost. (you might want to avoid Sticker Mule, they have bad connections to racist stuff etc.)
Pillows and dolls: A little less crowded of a market, and a lot of room for originality and growth. It’s a LOT of work, though, if you’re doing the sewing and stuffing yourself. If you’re ordering dolls or pillows stuffed and printed with a company, be aware that the cost is HIGH! People will probably complain about how much you have to charge for them. You have to be sure you have those orders and the money to start, which means Kickstarters are another great way to do plushy/doll/pillow selling.
Art prints: relatively easy market, especially since it’s 100% your art just printed out lol. Finding a good printer and good prices is a little not fun, but it’s a great way to get income while working on stuff you enjoy and not always catering to custom stuff or marketing. This is a good idea to have on the side of other marketing stuff, for fans or friends who really want to hang your artwork in their home. :)
Custom products: This can be a saturated market, if only because there’s tons of companies offering custom things like bags and shirts and stuff and anyone can slap something on a shirt now and charge $40. One good trick is to have a unique collection or style of things, or a theme. (Ex: Pokémon themed, witches, cats, plants, etc,) The other thing is finding the right printer for these products. There are a few companies to avoid, so it’s a good idea to type company names into google and add ‘reviews’. You’ll see a lot of shady practices, sometimes also companies outright supporting groups or people you don’t agree with or want anything to do with. Also, a huge number of these companies are in Hong Kong or China, so be aware that the shipping times are much longer than local places, and even longer due to COVID at the moment. Another huge part of this is how custom are you going. Are you drawing custom body pillows? Or are you selling body pillows you already designed? Once you get into doing custom commissioned products, pricing needs to go UP! Think of the time spent, not just the cost of the product being printed!
Books/comics/zines:
Augh. Okay, so be very careful with printers here. Be careful of your rights, be careful of the rights of fan works and the rules of certain printers. In this case, there’s a lot of options, but the prices vary a LOT. So another case of doing a lot of research, and being ready to drop a large chunk of money for that order. (Again, Kickstarter is a good way to get things going.) For printing, remember CMYK! Edge bleeding! Page layouts! (Also maybe avoid Ka-blam)
Okay, so those are some examples of things to sell and such, now where to sell... Augh. Etsy is great for a lot of reasons, and bad for a lot of reasons. 80% of my sales on Etsy are through Etsy itself. Barely anyone follows links to my store from anywhere else, and most of the traffic to my store is directly from people searching for stuff on Etsy. This is great exposure to buyers, but it comes with some... problems. There’s a lot of junk on Etsy, and a 99% chance someone is selling the thing you want to sell for cheaper and it’s not even custom or anything like that. It’s a weird market. The other side of it is Etsy takes a pretty good chunk of change from each sale, each listing, each re-listing, etc. so that’s something you have to take into consideration. But they also let you print/buy shipping labels through them, which can make organization of orders much easier.
An alternative is Storenvy, which has similar problems but is a different type of market. It’s actually a little harder to sell on there in the way Etsy sells. You’re more likely to make sales through a link, it seems.
There’s other online shop options that let you keep your sales with no selling fees, but a lot of them... cost money to get the website so.
I’m sorry if this isn’t really helpful, but it really depends on what you’re planning to sell and where. Things like Patreon clubs and kickstarters can be helpful, but also require a lot of preparation of information, prices, what you’re going to offer, etc. Online stores can be a little easier to set up, but also require you to either have stock ready or be ready to ‘make to order’. So, it’s not super easy to start, but once you get going it can be really rewarding. :)

So I got some acrylic pins from sticker mule during their sale and the pins image came out nice and clear but for some reason they don't finish the backs of them so it looks like a sticker slapped onto the back of a piece of acrylic and a pin stuck to it which is a shame because their quality would be really great for the price if they just did that one extra step of finishing the backs. Over all they're stickers are great. https://www.instagram.com/p/CEXwz_pFPoT/?igshid=1d3aiytswt60x

Hello! I came here from your twitter actually & read before that you recommend sticker mule. I might be making my own merch one day & want to ask if you could recommend who to go to for pin production too? I know alibaba is popular from what I researched though I'm not sure of the quality & how trustworthy they are! Thank you kindly!
Hello nonnie, yesss I use stickermule for mostly all my stickers!! Their quality is far better than any other I’ve tried ( including zapcreatives and stickerapp ) and their processing time is much shorter! Stickers always end up arriving much earlier than expected date and it’s always a nice surprise!
Alibaba has many several manufacturers, most are trustworthy from my experience especially since alibaba holds sellers responsible and you can file a complain if they do not deliver, however the quality varies depending on which manufacturer / seller you end up working with — Alibaba is a platform where there are many different sellers; I’ve used several and had different experiences, but it’s not my preferred source to be honest.
My usual go to manufacturers are bearbadge or superbpins, both offered amazing prices and very minimum flaw rate — I’ve also tried working with enamelpinfactory, their ordering process is much simpler and easier than speaking to a manufacturer directly and the quality is amazing however since they work as a middle man, their prices are more expensive and shipping time is much longer ( if you’re impatient like me, it’s not ideal ;u; )
Also I haven’t personally used them, but I heard a lot of amazing feedback about chinalapelpin.
Anyway, this is my own personal experience, it varies with pins because each batch is different but I hope this provides some insight and I wish you the best of luck in making merch ^-^

I'm thinking of making some enamel pins via kickstarter. They'd all be related to anatomy in some way, and this is the first one I designed! The male pelvis looks so much like a heart from above that I hardly had to alter the shape at all.
It's a little bit cutesy compared to the other designs I had in mind, but maybe I'll stick with the pastel color scheme?
Either way, I'll probably end up ordering some stickers of this one since I saw sticker mule is doing a black Friday deal.

sticker mule is amazing for getting stickers, labels, pins, and magnets for your shop. They’re always having great sales. I might take advantage of their sheet label special. It’s like $9 for 50. That’s how I got my last stickers for charming bones too.
I mean I really don’t need anymore labels or stickers though
