I stopped using Sticker Mule years ago when I learned they donated to the Trump presidential campaign. Now they have taken their support of Trump propaganda one step further. This email was sent out to the Sticker Mule mailing list this morning (links removed for tumblr):

Donald Trump was shot. I don’t care what your political views are but the hate for Trump and his supporters has gone too far. People are terrified to admit they support Trump. I’ve been scared myself. Americans shouldn’t live in fear. I support Trump. Many at Sticker Mule do. Many at Sticker Mule also support Biden. The political hate needs to stop. Hopefully this email helps. Btw, this week, get 1 shirt for $4 (normally $19). I suggest buying one that shows you support Trump. Alternatives to Sticker Mule

Artist Friends - In case you haven't heard, Sticker Mule sent out an incredibly gross email supporting Trump.

Ew.

Now, a quick search will reveal plenty of great alternatives to Sticker Mule who do not support a political party hell-bent on taking away your fundamental human rights, which is great!

But Chilchuck here has a suggestion that probably won't be in the first page of your search.

Chances are good there's a Union-run print shop in your area.

Seeing as how Unions are why we have worker protection laws and other great things like weekends and a minimum wage, unions, for the most part, are cool. The Right does not like unions, because those politicians and their corporate masters don't like paying overtime, and are actively trying to get rid of child labor laws. *sigh* I wish I was making this up.

Anyhoo, not only will you be supporting your neighbors, you'll probably get your stickers (or whatever else you want to print) a lot faster than online. I needed an emergency print done QUICK before a con, and I got my stickers next day!

If you can physically travel there, most places have paper samples you can handle so you can pick the GSM that you want, check the gloss, see how writable surfaces are if you want something you can sign, etc. And there will be a human there who knows what they're talking about, and can answer your questions. If you're not sure what to get, they can make suggestions. Even if you can't afford their minumums, it doesn't hurt to walk in and ask. They might be able to cut you some sort of deal.

Hell, I have a friend who got a proof made and approved minutes after she walked in because she happened to have the file in Dropbox. The printer the shop used for stickers wasn't running at that moment, so the worker just got the file and made a proof real fast.

A PSA post for those who are in small business, who are artists, or are simply interested in creating stickers (or magnets), Sticker Mule supports Trump. I cannot in good faith use this company any more and have warned my friends that I know use them.

My go to for stickers has always been StickerApp and as far as I can tell they don't have any political affiliation or at least have not openly aligned themselves with Trump. There may not be any real ethical consumption under capitalism, we can still choose were we personally spend our money and this is one company I am actively going to avoid in the future. I hope you do, too.

Firstly: Look at my gorgeous new order fulfillment center, I love her so much, thrifted her from a school throwaway pile and cleaned her up, adore her!

Secondly: If you weren't aware StickerMule is openly conservative and supports Donald Trump. They just posted on Twitter and email-blasted their customers to support Trump following the shooting, promote Trump merch on their site, etc. Absolutely unhinged behavior from a company tbh. The title of the email was even "Trump 2024" so it's not about solidarity with a human being who was injured or something, it is 100% politically motivated.

Even before this, there are multiple stories of people who have had their orders sabotaged if they supported liberal views, LGBTQ+ rights, BLM, or MMIW (this being one of the most egregious, with StickerMule sending the customer shirts that said 'Liberal Moron' by """"mistake"""").

Friends don't let friends use StickerMule! Sticker Ninja is a great alternative that actually supports LGBTQ+ rights, Palestine, and other marginalized groups!! StickerApp is another quality alternative to StickerMule! I'm sure there are more but because I make my own stickers (they are freebies given away with orders, not separate products) I don't know all of them so please comment/reblog to add more.

It's actually a good thing if businesses start outing themselves as Trump supporters. Then you know where not to buy.

But expect Trump supporters to back them two fold so it's not likely to hurt them. But at least you're not paying their bills.

I will no longer be working with Sticker Mule to produce my stickers in light of an email that I received from the cofounder Anthony Constantino yesterday. You can see the email and my reply below.

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the stock I have already ordered, but I will be looking into other companies and/or making them myself in the future.
