The Sanguine Sorceress (1 December 2023) Prequel in The Essence of the Equinox (Other vendors | Buy Indie ) A blood-soaked tale of feminine rage following the journey of Serafina Stilia, as she attempts to claw agency for herself in a society where all the power is held fast in the grip of a male-run imperialistic regime. After her reputation is left in tatters by the unwanted advances of a suitor, Serafina must carve a path to liberation from the fury of her honour-driven father, or die trying.

Laila returns to Mortos with the aim of salvaging her dynasty from those who wish to wrangle the throne on a platform of magic-driven bigotry. She finds herself once more crossing paths with her old lover and confronting the whirlwind of emotions that twenty years apart have done little to settle.

If you like tales of revenge; if you like portrayals of imperfect (because fuck the idea of "perfect") victims; if you like unlikeable, righteously furious women; if you like stories about characters going down a dark path... and if you follow me, there's a higher chance than average that you like all of the above... I wholeheartedly recommend you read "THE SANGUINE SORCERESS", a short indie novella coming out soon.

STILIA A place filled with mountains, ruins, and clans. The continent has no problem mixing snow with jungle, which causes regular humans to struggle here

ARAKI People rarely stay in one place here due to the heat that comes in different portions. The middle is purely dessert, the other countries get sun for two months straight before it moves on.

XEVLAND A land filled with music and charisma. The sun and jungle are everyone’s best friends. The middle is filled with the riches, whilst the surroundings have poor people roaming the streets. Happiness is not where the money is though.

RAYÏE The one thing that’s certain is that you’ll be rained over. The continent filled different languages, different cultures, but flat as can be.

The ISLES Nature ripped this continent apart, with the top two islands covered in snow, and the bottom two permanently in spring. The harbors bring the people together, but keep them away from the rest.

Okay guys, so I decided to put together a small list of beauty products from Sephora, which I consider “beauty steals” right now. I do own or have used all of the products I have listed, and I give a short review on some of them. I only picked 6 of the 100’s of items Sephora has on sale right now.. but the 6 products I chose are some of my personal favorites. I’m a huge beauty junkie when it comes to Sephora.. so much so, that I’m a VIB Rouge member (yes I’ve spent over $1000 in a calendar year to earn my status).. shopping online wirh Sephora is so much better to me than shopping in-store for two reasons. One, they have a HUGE sale section online that you can’t find in stores, along with so many “exclusively online” products to buy. Second, you get to use promo codes for free goodies and sometimes %s off, like this week! This week only, Sephora is giving everyone an EXTRA 20% off items already on sale with the code SAVEBIG. So check out my small list below, then go over to the Sephora site or app yourself and stock up on these amazing deals while you can!

Beauty Steals of the week:

1. Proactiv Hello Kitty Cleansing Brush: I’m not huge on hello kitty whatsoever, but this is normally a $60 sonic cleansing brush on sale for $27 (extra 20% = $21.60). I could definitely live with having this in my shower or bathroom for that price. It’s portable, cordless, water-resistant, and has two speeds with a continuous 360 rotation to help cleanse the face and unclog pores! You just can’t beat that price for this product!

2. Stilia All Day Liquid Lipstick: Normally priced at $22, this is one of my favorite liquid lipsticks out there! They only have a few colors left in pink and nude shades! ($11 extra 20% = $8.80). It’s not just any liquid lipstick y’all! It also provides intense hydration to your lips for the 12 hours it’s supposed to stick!

3. HUM Nutrition Hair & Nails Gummies: Promotes healthy and shiny hair, linger and stronger nails and lastly, it hydrates and plumps skin. This duo of gummies includes Hair Sweet Hair & Glow Sweet Glow in berry and tangerine flavors! Now I have to say, HUM nutrition is one of my favorite go to’s for vitamins! They have a huge line of supplements not just for hair and nails, but also weight loss, gut health and overall health and well being. This set would normally cost you $20, but with the sale price and extra 20% off you can get it for only $11.20! It’s perfect to buy if you just wanted to give these a trial run and see if they work for you or not.

4. Amika Polished Perfection Mini Straightening Brush: Heated ceramic base with nylon tip bristles and double negative ion technology to help lock in moisture and leave your hair smooth and shiny. I ordered one myself for Christmas and I absolutely love it! The portable size and bag it comes in makes it perfect for traveling or just sticking in your purse if you need it on the go. Regular price is $35, but they have it on sale for $28 and with the extra 20% right now, it’ll only cost you $22.80! For a hair styling product, it’s worth every penny!

5. IGK Good Behavior & Mistress Hair Duo: IGK and Amika are my top two hair brand products! I have almost every IGK product on the market and these two are some of my favorites!The Mistress balm is a leave in conditioning balm with coconut oil, Shea butter, and Argan oil. The coconut oil helps to restore and repair hair by reducing protein loss. The shea butter hydrates and softens locks, while the argan oil nourishes and smooths strands. The Good Behavior is a protein spray (my personal favorite product) that normally costs $32 all by itself. It contains Spirulina protein, which mimics the effects of a keratin treatment. I always spray this on my hair before bed or after washing. When Sephora took a poll on this product, 100% of the users said their hair looked like they had just received a keratin treatment from a salon. CONCLUSION: with this duo, you’re getting a full size protein spray and the normally $15 mistress balm for only $25.60 (20% off = $20.68).. basically saving yourself around $30. These are two products I would recommend to anyone!

6. Kat Von D Browstruck Dimension Powder: If you’re a beauty junkie like me, you’re probably obsessed with finding the best brow products! I know my personal favorites are Benefits Goof Proof brow pen and as for powder, well this is my favorite! Sephora has it on sale right now for $8 (regular price is $21) and the extra 20% off code brings it down to a whopping $6.40! That’s crazy ridiculous for any brow powder, even the cheap CVS or Walmart brands cost more than that! I have two colors myself.. a dark shade and a lighter shade, just to give my brows more dimension. There isn’t much to say on this product because it is what it is. However, it does stay all day, no fading.. and it only takes a very small amount to cover the brows, so this should last you more than a few months!

WTSA APPRECIATION WEEK (VII) – free choice.

Because WHEN THE STARS ALIGHT is just the beginning, I thought I'd recommend a few other stories by the author. WTSA is a great introduction, but once you've read it, you'll want to know more about the world of THE ESSENCE OF THE EQUINOX! Caution: one of this ("We Will Devour the Night") spoils WTSA!

A grimdark novella about one of the best characters in tEotE. Perfect story of rage, revenge, and corruption. -WE WILL DEVOUR THE NIGHT. Twenty years after the events of the first novel, Laila has been slowly prepping for her campaign to become the next Impératrice of Soleterea. Unfortunately, she must also contend with competitors who are attempting to wrangle the throne from her dynasty by capitalising on the negative repercussions caused by that fateful voyage to the north. In the meantime, Darius has settled into his new position as the Rex of Mortos, but his rule has not been without conflict and conspiracy.  When Amira suggests that Laila help herself politically by lending a hand to Darius, she finds herself once more crossing paths with her old lover and confronting the whirlwind of emotions that twenty years apart had done little to settle. Determined to put her feelings to one side, Laila throws herself headfirst into the pit of vipers that is Mortesian court politics in the interest of charming them under her influence. However, Darius continues to have an allure of his own - one that is not quite so simple to resist.  The author is currently posting the chapters in her ko-fi and substack accounts, as an early-release version you can access with a subscription. I recommend checking out her ko-fi, where you can find some additional scenes and short stories set in the same world. "Wasp Stings and Bee Pollen" is a favourite of mine.
