Lyrics:
You always won every time you placed a bet
You're still damn good
No one's gotten to you yet
Every time they were sure they had you caught
You were quicker than they thought
You'd just turn your back and walk
Still the same, still the same
You always said the cards would never do you wrong
The trick, you said, was never play the game too long
A gambler's share, the only risk that you would take
The only loss you could forsake
The only bluff you couldn't fake
And you're still the same
I caught up with you yesterday (still the same, still the same)
Moving game to game
No one standing in your way
Turning on the charm
Long enough to get you by (still the same, still the same)
You're still the same
You still aim high
Still the same, still the same
There you stood, everybody watched you play
I just turned and walked away
I had nothing left to say
'Cause you're still the same
Still the same, baby, baby, you're still the same
You're still the same
Still the same, baby, baby, you're still the same
Moving game to game
Still the same, baby, baby, you're still the same
Songwriter: Bob Seger
Some things never change
Still the same, baby, baby, you're still the same
You're still the same
Still the same, baby, baby, you're still the same
Still the same
Still the same, baby, baby, you're still the same
SongFacts:
"Still the Same" is a 1978 song written and recorded by American singer Bob Seger. It peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Still the Same” is a mid-tempo ballad that begins with what Billboard described as a “catchy piano” section. According to Billboard's Ed Harrison, the harmonious vocals of Venetta Fields, Clydie King and Sherlie Matthews give the song an R&B flavor.
The lyrics describe a player that the singer admired but ended up breaking up with because he didn't want to change. Some listeners believe that the song is actually about an ex-girlfriend and not a literal player. Seger said he had been asked for years who the song was about and that it was actually an amalgamation of characters he met when he first went to Hollywood. Seger told Bob Costas, "They're just really charming but terribly flawed, but part of the appeal is their charisma."

Hi everyone!! Previously bakedangell, I changed my name to liveforsunsets. I am still a huge smoker and believe in natural medicine and all, but that’s not what I want my blog to be ALL about anymore (and it really hasn’t been all about that for over a year now because i mainly reblog anything i see that i like or can relate to). I chose liveforsunsets because I feel like it’s more me, and if you know me, you know one of the things I love most (almost as much as coffee, weed, and my cat) are nature and sunsets. I will still be posting / reblogging weed related things, and my bio will still stay the same so people can see that it’s still the same vibes, just changed my name is all! ☺️
