decided to leave this straid study unfinished. didnt quite hit my stride while working on it but i think i got a lot out of drawing the hood as well as the generally subtle differences in tone found in the colours 91/365 - 06/01/24

Dark Souls 2 had such a clear and heavy thematic throughline about the pointlessness and waste of empire, the idea that no amount of cruelty carved into land nor flesh, no amount of nobility or valor cast in statues or in song could make a king's name withstand the weight of time. Gwyn might be the lord of cinder, but the people of Drangleic don't even know what that means. Izalith might have created the flame of chaos, but now her city is gone beneath a mountain of ice and called by a new name. Anor Londo is gone. Lordran is gone. Astora, Carim, Thoruland, all gone. Olaphis, the land of Straid's time has come and gone on the same tract of land as Drangleic. The Sunken King, the Iron King, the Ivory King, these men are all gone to such an extent that their names are forgotten even by those who still walk their lands. Drangleic's own king is fading away, and the only remnants of his legacy will be the corpses of giants and crumbled fortresses.
And of the ones who remain in these places, there are only echoes of past lives. Jailers continue to guard the Bastille that has long gone defunct. Miners and work drivers continue to mill around the base of Earthen Peak even though they've long since lost any reason to work. Empty sets of armor still guard over ruined castles because no one exists to tell them they can stop. The life has left them, all that keeps them going is the work they were given so long ago, which has long since lost all meaning to anyone except these empty husks. It's the bleakest form of existence. So many lives were reduced to so little, and for what? The empires of kings, built by the hands of countless men, will all one day be empty.

reading the descriptions of any item in the entire dark souls series becomes 10x better if you imagine straid of olaphis saying them.

#SWORDS AND SOULS LOST CHILD LOCATIONS FREE#
#SWORDS AND SOULS LOST CHILD LOCATIONS WINDOWS#
Below are three dogs and numerous powder kegs.
#SWORDS AND SOULS LOST CHILD LOCATIONS WINDOWS#
From here double back and drop in one of the windows to catch the crossbow knight off guard. Shortly after the bonfire, a ledge can be followed around the next build to a corpse with a Radiant Lifegem and a Large Titanite Shard. In the bonfire room there are 2 metal chests which contain the Dull Ember and 2x Human Effigy. This is a short area guarded by Royal Swordsmen, Undead Jailers and Stray Hounds and consists of negligible geographic size. An eagle will take you to The Tower Apart bonfire in the Bastille. If you head all the way back up to the room past the boss, past the gap in the floor then go up the stairs to the right you will see a nest which you can use. Continue one more drop and you will be near the beginning of your ascent towards the Pursuer. Through the hole in the floor immediately ahead, if you down down, you will find the Drangleic Set, Drangleic Shield, and Drangleic Sword. A small doorway here leads upstairs to the Exile Holding Cells bonfire.Īfter defeating the Pursuer, continue forward through the gap in the stone head. At the top, find a including a Soul of Proud Knight and a Radiant Lifegem in the cell next to the lever. Drop down the hole here to return to the bottom floor elevator room. This corpse holds a Scimitar and Repair Powder. This time, you have access to a small break in the wall with a corpse. After getting off the elevator at the top, trigger then quickly step out and jump on top of it, as it's lowering, to ride it back down. Defeat them quickly then take the lift up to a stairway, with cells lining either side. In here, find an elevator and two Varangians. The ship will land you at a rocky shoreline with an entrance into a walled structure, if you continue left after the dock.

The chest he was sitting on at the start will now be free to open with this inside.)Īfter defeating the Flexile Sentry, proceed to the next room and up a ladder to find a chest and a strange contraption the chest contains a Pyromancy Flame and a Fireball, while examining the contraption triggers a cinematic showing the player sail the ship to the next area. Craftman's Hammer (In McDuff's workshop, light the sconce near the anvil and rest at a bonfire.Scimitar (Ride the roof of No-man's Wharf's elevator entrance after boat ride).Soul Vessel (Use Pharros' Lockstone behind door unlocked with the Antiquated Key).Rouge Water x1 (Hidden wall at top of stairs in boss room, watch out for Rupturing Hollow enemy.).Hush Sorcery (Hidden wall in boss room).Straid of Olaphis (boss souls merchant).Bonfires: Exile Holding Cells, McDuff's Workshop, Servants' Quarters, Straid's Cell, The Tower Apart.Previous: No-man's Wharf/ Forest of Fallen Giants.

"But does she give lap dances?" had me in stitches! I know you're not going to (and I'm not asking you to), but I seriously need a video compilation of all the bosses in the Souls series with you rating them on their sex potential because holy shit your commentary would be a scream!
I’m a low talker, so I’d sooner make an OnlyFans. XD
I did half-jokingly discuss making a (non-monsterfucker-related, SFW) review channel with a friend, but at that time I had a lisp so it wouldn’t have worked out.
Now, I’m not sure if YouTube would let me monetize videos where I discuss which fictional monsters I’d take to Pound Town and what I’d do to them there. Or respectfully discuss why other people are attracted to characters. Or even just make inappropriate comments.
But it is really, really fun. So here’s another list:
Crystal Golem: Sometimes a boyfriend can be a man-shaped pretty rock.
Darkwraith: They have goth boys in this game. :D
Felkin the Outcast: He would not be an outcast if we could see his pretty face. Probably.
Four Kings: I don’t know how to cuddle this character, but I damn well would try.
Grand Archives Scholar: Wax on, whacks off.
Hollow Thief: Wears a hood and has glowing red eyes.
Iron Golem: Broad shoulders, metallic, inhumanely huge. Can’t go wrong with any of that.
Jester Thomas: Puffy pants aside… Masked clown. (Clowns should just go bottomless. It’d be funnier.)
Knights in general: Particularly Looking Glass and Horace the Hushed. Latter’s thick.
Laurentius: He’s just sitting there. Menacingly.
Manikin: Lacking a head means the best solution is giving head.
Manscorpion Tark: He’d probably make me carry our offspring on my back, though. :(
Mimic: TONGUE.
Straid of Olaphis: Just look at him.
Titanite Demon: Horned, naked, and metallic.
Yhorm the Giant: Big glowy.

Bearer of the Curse: We're playing Scrabble it's a nightmare
Lucatiel: Scrabble? Scrabble's fun!
Bearer: When you're playing with Straid it's not. He uses words like "iridium" and I put down "pig"

Improvise! Adapt! Overcome!
I wanted to see what eye color Navlaan had, and to see what kind of hairdo as well. However, I have no idea how to rip models from consol games, so I spent a long while trying to perfect camera angles. Conclusion:
Navlaan has pale, light blue eyes; very close to stonewashed blue
Tumblr media
He is also bald
BONUS: Straid’s hair is a classic buzz cut, like this
