I find it fascinating how voices change between languages. Pre-T, I spoke French in a very high tone and English in a much more androgynous one. Now, a little over two years on T, my regular English-speaking voice is pretty low but when speaking French, it gets really deep. My voice lowers when speaking Yiddish or Hebrew, but nowhere near as much as French

You aren't "shadow banned" because that isn't a thing on tumblr. Many users right now have been placed in a protected mode that limits your exposure to a specific internet troll who has become very prolific lately. You have probably heard of him, he usually goes by the name "r4cs0" here on tumblr. He was the creator (and main "feature") of a shock website called goatse. He also is widely believed to have been a serial killer from Idaho called the Snake River Killer. And you may have heard about the recent murders in Idaho too, in which he is a suspect. Tumblr has locked down some features of the site to try to help stop this guy. Do your part and don't complain.

That seems pretty far-fetched, but ok.

If this is the case (emphasis on "if"), I'm cool with whatever Tumblr wants to do. But it seems to me that, if this is legit, I would have received some sort of heads up about it. I'm not sure how restricting my ability to communicate would in any way hamper some psycho's activity, but regardless, telling me ahead of time with a quick message through one of several channels available to Tumblr would preclude any confusion or complaint. Seems like they'd be creating unnecessary work for themselves to just stick a bunch of blogs in protective custody with no explanation.
