So, this is related to my previous post I made about Sense8 and Sense8 AUs because the other day, I took part of a tweet qrt chain by tweeting these four pics with the caption:
blonde boy x dark haired girl supremacy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's basically like my old post about shipping blonde guy x black haired girl ships, but now I included Aeon 'cause I kinda like them now (plus, I also hc them as bi4bi because fucking look at them 🥵)
But anyway, the reason I'm bringing this over here is because my timing for this was kinda interesting; basically, there are some rather questionable leaks related to the Spy x Family movie (which I won't get into in case you don't like stuff like that) which, in all honestly, I'm not TOO worried about knowing the full context, but it is ticking me off somewhat, and it made me wanna share this:
I actually did come up with a Sense8 AU involving all four of these ships being in a cluster together (set in a modern setting), and it was mainly because I wanted to see how their respective stories would play out if each ship was open with each other about their feelings due to this type of connection. And now that I had to see those dumb leaks, I feel even more justified in making up an AU where Twiyor falls in love like, a couple months before Operation: Strix began through this connection because I can and I wanna be spiteful, even if it's just in my head 🤣
Plus, the idea of them doing Operation: Strix while already knowing each other's true identities and jobs, and keeping the fact that they're actually married for real a secret from their agencies is juicy - ESPECIALLY from Nightfall.
I have not been shy about expressing my...dislike for her before, so imagining Twiyor keeping their secret real love from her is cathartic as hell. Like, Nightfall is constantly breaking her back in trying to split them up so she can have Twilight for herself, but she doesn't even know that they're already in love with each other and they shit talk her actions behind her back. It's what she'd deserve, honestly, after all the bullying she does to Yor 😈
Oh, and for what it's worth, at least for Twiyor, their secret is also shared with Franky and Anya because why wouldn't it? And maybe also Sylvia, but I've rambled enough about this.
Anyway, if there's anything to take away from this post, it's that I hope anyone who sees this considers making their own AUs where their favorite ship (especially if it's a slow burn ship) is in a sensate cluster, and they can almost always sense each other's feelings 😳

Have you thought about Strix’s family? Or how he became a vampire? I’m assuming he doesn’t quite like being a vampire since he drinks so heavily because of it but how does he feel about being a vampire? How does he get along with the rest of the Dark Bro fam? Does he change after Astrid and the others are killed? Does he have any changes in his relationships with the other survivors? Does he miss Arnbjorn (god did I spell that right, that’s the beefy werewolf’s name right??)?
HOO BOy it’s been a good long while since i’ve been able to ramble about my dumb ocs on tumblr so here we go!
i’ve played with a few ideas, and i don’t have like... specifics of names/people/places for his backstory stuff, but i’m thinking his family was kind of a Big Deal back in Morrowind, and he was very much the disappointment. Got into trouble for drugs and alcohol and being a general nuisance and eventually got involved in some shady business and got arrested. his family basically disowned him completely, pretended he didn’t exist, and just completely wiped their hands of him, so he stayed in prison for about ten years and when he got out he had nothing.
and the drinking problem actually uuuuh predates the vampirism by a good long while, because the vampirism is actually a direct result of the drinking problem. he was lured into captivity with the promise of drugs and booze and basically kept as cattle for a while before he was finally able to fight back (bit one of his captors and was ripped apart by a bunch of angry vampires for his trouble.) they left him to die, but because he’d ingested some of their blood beforehand, he turned instead. he hunted them all down like dogs, and then returned to his family’s estate after a while.
and then he uh. essentially destroyed their reputation even more because they’d basically figured he was dead (likely got some rumors here and there that Confirmed It) so when he showed up in the halls and dark corners on stormy nights with sunken cheeks and glowing eyes, a few of them for sure thought he was the Vengeful Ghost of the son they abandoned. so a lot of urban legends were born, and everyone was convinced the family had gone mad.
he also stole and rearranged things because he’s incredibly petty.
he likes being a vampire just fine, it’s himself he’s not overly fond of. the vampirism makes his stupid decisions easier to deal with because the likelihood that they’ll kill him is a lot lower. he’s powerful, he’s lived a good long time, and he can basically get whatever he wants with his powers, so it works just fine for him. he’s found that the drinking is just more of a precaution to keep him from going on a rampage and getting hunted down because of it. a bit of roundabout self-preservation, really.
also i... kind of have a mod that lets you save the dark brotherhood, because i fucking love my murder family and don’t have the heart to let them die. i think the only one i ever have trouble saving is festus, because hoo boy do you have to be quick to keep him from becoming a pincushion.
i think that mission would prove to him that he does have people he cares about enough to risk his life for (even though he’s very lackadaisical about his own safety/kind of has some suicidal tendencies he’s not gonna throw himself into harm’s way for just anyone) and people who would do the same for him? i think after astrid, he’d have... a lot to unpack there, because he really trusted her to look out for him and the rest of the family, and he thought he could trust her-- and he doesn’t trust lightly. so the betrayal would maybe make him sort of cold and bitter for a while. and he Is Not A Huge Fan of the responsibility of running the brotherhood falling onto his shoulders, but eventually he just. takes it up. and he keeps his family safe, no matter what. he and arnbjorn continue to bitch back and forth constantly-- though i’m honestly not sure how long arnbjorn would stay with the family after astrid is gone? most of them were more loyal to her than the nightmother, but arnbjorn especially... it might make sense for him to die tbh...

hey so i finally caught up on dca and i read all of your meta (i hope that's not weird dhajhkj) and i just wanted to say that i really appreciate it and love how in depth you go and how you have a really good grasp on all of the characters' personalities and thought processes (and how that translates over to your fic) anyway that was a ramble but essentially keep up the good work!! it's honestly amazing <3
Tumblr media
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the lovely words!!!!! I promise you that the fact that you read all of it is absolutely not weird, that is actually The Best Thing and super duper great to hear!!!! Seriously, “I read all your stuff” is actually A Massive Compliment!!
It’s really good to hear that you think I have a good grasp on all the characters! :D Especially since I’m actually not all that confident about my grasp on Paultin and (to a lesser degree) Strix, so hearing that you think I’ve got a good grasp on everyone is really a confidence boost!! :D
I hope you’ll keep enjoying future meta and fics that I write!

Hi there! I noticed you made a post about d&d and was wondering if you’ve been playing a long? Only I’ve joined my first campaign and was hoping for some tips. I’m a little nervous since I’ve never played before ><
Honestly I’m more of a spectator~ I listen to D&D podcasts at work because a lot of my job is near-mindless repetition, so it gives my anxious brain something good to focus on and makes the time go by faster. I did play a VERY simplified homebrew version when I was in elementary school but I wouldn’t put that as the same level of experience as playing a more standard campaign.
Some stuff I think might still be helpful:
-If you can manage it, have a “Session 0” where you just discuss your characters, if they have any previous history with other PCs, and what you all as players are looking to get from the experience. I dig the collaborative storytelling of D&D, so a group that is very “by the book” and wouldn’t have wiggle room for “this is a more fun story” type of moves/events would be a poor fit for me. Establishing this stuff before getting under way can save a lot of frustration later.
-If you don’t have a lot of experience role playing in general, take a small event or situation (like baking a pie or doing laundry) and try thinking about how your character would go about it, in as much detail as possible.
-Don’t be afraid to ask the DM for clarification on any given situation: setting the scene is their role! It also prevents the “If you had told me X I wouldn’t have done Y” sort of tensions.
-Take notes while you play! Some people do them strictly out-of-character, but it can be really fun to experiment with taking notes “in-character”. What things would they want to remember, and how would they record them? This one is thanks to Holly Conrad, who once posted a picture of her “in-character” notes for her Tiefling Sorcerer, Strix. Here are some examples courtesy of her Twitter:Seriously These Are So CoolI Love Them
-If you feel like you aren’t having fun, speak up. See if there’s anything you can do to make the game more appealing to you. If it really isn’t working, don’t be afraid to step away.
-Just like with other forms of improv, the more you do it the less self conscious and awkward you’ll feel about it. It’s okay to be nervous but don’t let it hold you back!
I know these are fairly general but they are the stuff that’s stuck with me and what I will need/want to remember once I dive back into tabletop gaming myself in the future. Feel free to shoot me more questions or just ask for encouragement- clearly I like to ramble about this stuff!
I hope it’s okay if I made this public (let me know if it isn’t and I’ll take it down). Also sorry if this formats weird, I’m a mobile only user right now.

Rules: choose any three fandoms (in random order) and answer the questions, then tag 10 people you want to know better
Tagged by: @donnies-toaster-strudel Thanks! :D
Three fandoms:
Digimon (any season, lol)
Dice, Camera, Action
Haikyuu
The first character you loved:
In Digimon? Oh, Matt. For sure. XD He was, like, my gateway into the lone wolf rival trope, and I have never looked back, lol. I love this kid so much, and he’s grown up so well. I don’t show him nearly enough love on this blog, but he’ll always be my favorite. (I’ve loved him so long I honestly don’t even know what else to say, so, moving on... XD)
Honestly, for Dice, Camera, Action, despite the fact that it took quite a while for Nate to really get comfortable as a player, I’d still have to say Paultin. During the first, oh, season and a half, I enjoyed the show well enough, but it was more a way to pass the time at work than something I was really invested in. Once Paultin started to develop, though, I was all in, and now I really love all four of the main cast. His blossoming gave me a higher appreciation for everyone else.
And with Haikyuu, it was Kageyama. Come on, man, by the time I started this show, I was very, very well aware of my type, and there he was in all his grumpy faced glory. XD I love that once you get to know him better, going back and watching the first few episodes is so different. He initially seems real harsh and mean, but in reality he’s just very blunt and awkward. And I love it, lol. Guy seriously needs to learn some proper social skills, though, haha.
The character you never expected to love so much:
It took me a second to think of an answer for Digimon, but once I thought of it, it was so obvious I’m shocked he didn’t spring to mind immediately: Impmon. Wow. This little guy. I was not his biggest fan when I first started watching Tamers. I thought he was annoying. But the more I saw, the more I started really enjoying his character, and now, admittedly, he is my number one reason for revisiting that season. The rest of the cast ultimately fell kinda flat in comparison for me, but Impmon’s story is just great. I love this little guy.
Ok. DCA. The answer to this one may be a bit surprising in some ways, but... Omin. Now, I have tried listening to/watching other DnD shows, and, frankly, I have actually enjoyed very, very few of them. Acq Inc included. The crossover episodes with Strix were ok, but aside from her I mostly just liked Viari, so... I can’t say I was really super into Omin guest starring on DCA. But... he actually fit really well with the main cast? Like, surprisingly so? He was a pillar of stability that they are sorely lacking, and it was refreshing. But he was also just plain amusing. So. Yeah. That surprised me!
Oh gosh, in Haikyuu, Tsukishima, definitely. XD I mean, don’t get me wrong, I tend to enjoy snarky jerks like that, but he was just down right mean at first, and as it was mostly being directed at Kageyama... lol Yeah, I didn’t hate him, but, I can’t say I liked him either. But then, as my sister and I like to put it, he became “our”/Karasuno’s jerk - yes he still pisses off the Karasuno bunch sometimes, but since officially joining them, he is now an even bigger jerk to opponents. And it’s so much easier to love him when he’s intimidating the other team. XD And once he got his awesome development against Shiratorizawa? SOLD.
The character you relate to the most:
It’s a boring answer, but from Digimon it’s Matt, lol. Personality-wise we can be very similar, which is probably why I enjoy so many other “rival” characters. He likes to stop and think of which answer is best, but he is also a bit hot headed and can say things he doesn’t really mean without thinking. He’s very loyal, but he’s not good at expressing that in words. He can also be very hard on himself. ...I can relate. XD
Boring answer #2: in Dice, Camera, Action, it’s Paultin, lol. Now, I actually don’t drink at all, so don’t worry, I’m not a raging alcoholic! But there’s been a lot of stuff happening lately that really highlights how similar we can be in certain ways. For one, Paultin internalizes a lot, and when it comes out, it comes out in lots of words and with an attitude that could easily come across as harsh. He’s a pretty sarcastic guy. He also is a fairly selfish character, but he does care about his friends and really tries to do right by them. And he looks around him and sees amazing people doing amazing things, and then he looks at himself and can’t see how he possibly could compare or fit in. (Ep 93 hit me hard, guys... ^_^;; )
Surprise twist! You might think my choice for Haikyuu would be Kageyama, but it’s not! It’s Yamaguchi! lol He’s a guy that’s in the background, a bit shy, and a bit of a nervous wreck at times, lol. He’s not the best at anything, but he finds something he wants to be good at and works at it. He wants to be helpful, and he wants to win, but he’s not good enough to do it in the same way everyone else does. So he finds his own way.
The character you’d slap:
This wouldn’t have been my answer when I was younger, but when I went back through Digimon 02 a couple years ago, man, I really wanted to slap BlackWarGreymon. XD Luckily he does essentially get a super strong digimon equivalent that breaks him out of his funk, so I guess that’s nice, haha. But wow, his super emo inner turmoil was way more super emo than I remembered it. XD
I’m... I’m sorry, but in DCA, it’s Strix. I love her, ok! I love all the main four! But... man... she really needs something right now to get her to reign in that reckless streak. She has made a LOT of terrible decisions lately, and I want her to realize this. It would help out the group as a whole so much...
In Haikyuu. Oh, that one’s easy: Oikawa. Because it’d be fun. XD
Three favorite characters (in order of preference):
Matt, Kouji, Tai
Paultin, Evelyn, Simon (I love this little robot ok don’t judge me XD)
Kageyama, Nishinoya, Tanaka
A character you liked at first but don’t anymore:
Hm, from Digimon I guess I’ll say Henry. I don’t know if it really counts, but when I first saw clips with Jen from the Japanese raws, I just kind of assumed he’d be my favorite. Yeah, he’s not. XD So I think it’s more a matter of I expected to like him more than I ultimately did.
In DCA... no one...? I suppose I could say Miranda, but that’s a pretty mild change. While I never disliked her, I wasn’t her biggest fan, but I did find it interesting how she actually pushed back against Paultin who can come across as fairly abrasive. But in the end I’m just sort of “meh” about her overall.
As for Haikyuu - no one. Literally no one. I love all my boys and you can’t stop me!!
Three OTPs:
Taiora, Daiyako, Takumi
Eveltin... and that is literally it XD
Daichi/Yui... and that is also literally it XD
...that took a really long time, and I did quite enjoy it, but now my brain is mush, so if you see this and feel like rambling about some of your current interests, please feel free to consider this a tag! XD Thanks! ^_^

cracks knuckles
I got you.
Yor, Anya and Bond stuff, you say? I can at least start with rambling about potential arcanas for each.
Yor
High Priestess:
UPRIGHT: Intuition, sacred knowledge, divine feminine, the subconscious mind
REVERSED: Secrets, disconnected from intuition, withdrawal and silence
Explanation: The overall meaning of the card alluding to teachings of subconscious mind is a little looser to Yor compared to the others, but in some sense, Yor does show she can be surprisingly perceptive, but her own doubts can cloud her own judgment. It also alludes to how Yor's self doubts prevents her from having the ability to articulate how she really feels (ex. Chapter 35).
Empress:
UPRIGHT: Femininity, beauty, nature, nurturing, abundance
REVERSED: Creative block, dependence on others
Explanation: Besides the fact that Yor is a queen (*coughs*), the card itself does most directly relate to Yor being a v. giving and maternal figure. But it also does allude to in reverse being a dependence of others. In some sense, Yor's lack of confidence in herself makes her somewhat naive and dependent on how others view her. Also, the reversed Empress highlights self-care and self-love. For someone like Yor who gives and gives, she's neglected herself in the process throughout her life and even now worries about her not being "normal".
Strength:
UPRIGHT: Strength, courage, persuasion, influence, compassion
REVERSED: Inner strength, self-doubt, low energy, raw emotion
Explanation: Yor could alternately be Chariot, which has similar meanings to Strength, but I felt Strength suited her a little more. Strength calls upon strength and the human spirit to overcome obstacles by not force but rather influence and compassion. Yor is physically strong but she also maintains compassion that allows her to reason with Twilight concerning Anya. The reversed meanwhile has meanings of self-doubt. Again, Yor is strong physically, but she's also mentally vulnerable due to her lack of experiences.
Temperance:
UPRIGHT: Balance, moderation, patience, purpose
REVERSED: Imbalance, excess, self-healing, re-alignment
Explanation: The Temperance card upright is all about balance and blending different aspects together into something more valuable than the separate parts would be. Yor, being both a deadly assassin yet also a selfless and nurturing figure, uses them to both care for and protect her family. In reverse, it does also reflect how Yor has lived most of her life sacrificing things for the sake of Yuri's future, from her schooling and aspirations to any chance of having a peaceful life of her own. As a result, Yor never had the chance to be selfish or want things for herself. Yuri gave Yor a purpose for being an assassin, so much so that she ended up being lost once he was old enough to care for himself. Being a Forger gave Yor a new purpose for being an assassin and slowly, I think she's also learning to re-align her tendency to self-sacrifice with what she also wants.
Anya
Fool:
UPRIGHT: Beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, a free spirit
REVERSED: Holding back, recklessness, risk-taking
Explanation: Of course, this card is the beginning of the deck and the one that represents the Wild Cards of the series. But also, the Fool is the beginning of a journey, innocence, spontaneity, and a free spirit. Operation Strix begins because of Anya becoming Twilight's daughter and it's her that begins the fake Forgers slowly becoming a real family (and also kickstarting Twilight and Yor's development). Of course, even the reversed meanings reflect Anya is hiding her own secrets and this holding back has caused some troubles (such as being a 4 year-old trying to do 6 year old stuff). Anya is also a bit reckless in how she acts, which has...caused as much help as it has caused mishaps.
Magician:
UPRIGHT: Manifestation, resourcefulness, power, inspired action
REVERSED: Manipulation, poor planning, untapped talents
Explanation: As a card that relates to untapped potential, Anya herself shows she's far smarter and more resourceful than she appears. She tries her hardest to make Operation Strix a success for Twilight. However, because she's a kid, she isn't quite good on the planning side of things of how to get there and she struggles in school due to learning things when she hasn't even grasped the basics. Not to mention the difficulties in befriending Damian. Anya has the potential to be someone amazing, but she can't quite reach it due to not knowing how to get there, which isn't helped by her trying to hide her own secrets.
Bond
Wheel of Fortune:
UPRIGHT: Good luck, karma, life cycles, destiny, a turning point
REVERSED: Bad luck, resistance to change, breaking cycles
Explanation: Wheel of Fortune is all about Karma, both good and bad. It also is about luck in general. Bond had a bad hand dealt to him being made into a lab subject where he was treated cruelly. Then he got sold on the black market and bought to be a bomb dog. But his luck came around to be adopted by the Forgers, although after helping Anya narrowly prevent Twilight's death. Bond is a kind and gentle dog despite having every reason to distrust people all for the sake of someone's selfishness. So ultimately, his willingness to trust and believe in others was rewarded after years and years of loneliness and abuse. But also, while it doesn't apply to him, the other meaning of resisting change and breaking of bad cycles reflects the world that resulted in his misfortune.
On the subject of Bond, I think this was something along the lines of what Bond meant that convinced his Shadow to awaken into his Persona:
Shadow Bond: (Why are you so willing to trust? Don't you know you've been hurt by humans? How many other dogs did you see die in those days? Why would these humans, especially Anya, be any different from them?) Bond: (I've been hurt by humans, yes. I know there are bad humans. But there also good humans. I don't want to hate all humans and I choose to not hate them. I waited for the day I would meet good humans. And my family are the best humans ever. Now, I want to protect my good humans from the bad humans! I will fight to do that! Now...let me find Anya!)
I have an idea of what Bond's Persona is, but I'll have to save it for a different post because this is already too long, whoops.
Hope this helped somehow!
*cocks gun* Gimme your P4 x SxF hyperfixation deets, asap! (Lol I kid how are you I haven't been in tumblr for so long it feels like an alien universe)
Confession: I only came back on Tumblr so I could write weird ramblings about SxF. I'm doing well!
ANYWAY, HERE ARE MY ATTEMPTS AT SHADOW LOID/TWILIGHT/WHATEVER HIS NAME ACTUALLY IS.
(For the sake of clarity, the real self will be called Loid.)
There were two ways I thought Shadow Loid could manifest:
Shadow Loid that appears to Loid/Yor/Bond is actually just a creation of the REAL Shadow Loid. The real Shadow is actually based on Advisor, his childhood self. The created form(s) based on the various identities Twilight took over the years doesn't damage the real one in any way because it's a false self and therefore not true to the real being. Or in simpler terms, illusions created from Shadow Loid's power. Meanwhile, Advisor hides away in the castle, remotely controlling the Twilight personas, too fearful and anxious to face them directly despite longing to be safe in someone's arms. I would say he's a bit of a similar case to Shadow Okumura where he doesn't transform himself per say.
Alternately, Shadow Loid is split into two different beings, one being Twilight, the other still being Advisor, together making up Shadow Loid. Advisor, in a similar case to Shadow Futaba being a manifestation of her repressed positive emotions, is a representation of the real being's desire to be himself, to remember him. Meanwhile, the Twilight side was born from [Redacted]'s desire to protect himself from the pain and loneliness of war, but the anxiety and fear has caused him to view everything as a threat and decide the Advisor side is a liability that also need to be eliminated. Advisor seeks out Loid, Yor, and Bond's help in this case to stop Twilight and help them rescue Anya, again because this part of him wants to stay with his family no matter what. This scenario has (Shadow) Twilight with a proper transformation state. This scenario overall is loosely inspired by Shadow Futaba.
Twilight/Loid/[Redacted]'s arcana I think best suits Moon, as what plagues him the most are things that card represents. In particular, illusion, fear, anxiety, inner confusion, and repressed emotion. Regardless of the two versions, the Shadow is struggling to process the real being's desire to be honest with his heart while being too fearful and anxious to be hurt to fully accept them either.
One of the other meanings of Moon (in reverse) is also release of fear, and in both scenarios, it is Shadow Loid learning to let go of the fear that created Twilight and the many identities that allows him to be honest with himself.
That's all I have on this for the time being!

Thanks to @interstellar-faerie, I’m currently watching Dice, Camera, Action! to bridge the time between Critical Role episodes. I’m only on ep 2, but I’m really enjoying it so far! I love the group dynamics, especially between Evelyn and Strix.
Further ramblings under a cut due to length.
Speaking of Evelyn ... I don’t get why there’s so much hatred for her in the comments? She’s a bit naive, yes, but that makes her endearing. And regarding her interrupting the dark atmosphere of Curse of Strahd ... She’s a paladin caught in a world of horror. Of course she’ll try to lighten the mood. Of course she would do everything in her power to inspire hope in the people of Barovia. Being a light in the darkness is what paladins of Lathander, and especially those of the Oath of the Ancients do, goddammit. Why do people give her so much shit for adhering to the principles of her deity and her oath? Being grim and dour would be against her whole concept.
(By the way, personally, I think a good horror story needs a character like hers. You can’t truly know darkness without knowing the light first. If everyone’s a coldhearted, level-headed, antisocial edgelord, it significantly lowers the effect of the horror, imo. So thank you, Anna, for throwing in such a delightful character. I’m sorry you got shit for it, and that everyone called you a fake geek girl when you obviously knew your stuff and roleplayed your character to perfection. You didn’t deserve that, same as Marisha/Keyleth from Critical Role don’t deserve it.)
Anyway, ramblings about that aside, I really like the show, and of course, Chris Perkins is an absolute delight. But then again, who would be better at DMing Curse of Strahd than one of the guys who wrote it?
