Max’s 30 day study challenge
30 concepts in 30

Hey peeps, so it’s been more than a year since I came back to this account but I’m back and am going to do a 30 day study challenge. I’m thinking of making it as 30 concepts in 30 but it necessarily doesn’t have to be 30 concepts, technically it can be anything.
This is nothing but me getting back to studying on a proper schedule most importantly regularly.
These are the hashtags:
max’s 30 day study challenge
30 concepts in 30
Hope to finish this challenge successfully.
Keep going cause you’ve got dreams to chase✨

How To Remember Things Long Term Using Mind Palace Technique
If you're a Sherlock fan, you already know about this, but if not, let me introduce you to something that will probably change your life
Mind Palace as termed in BBC's series Sherlock is a memory technique called 'Method Of Loci'
It's very easy to get hang of, but you need to invest some time at the beginning
Here are the steps that I used to create a mind palace to remember all the things I'm required to in med school:
1) Imagine a small place/room
To begin, you need a small space until you get the hang of it. You can start with your own room or house or any place you know like the back of your hand
Example: your fridge, to begin with
2) Think of all the things that are placed in the room and commit them to your memory
Let me continue with the example: think of where everything is kept in your fridge.
Think of where the eggs are kept, the milk, the vegetables, etc.
3) Make a little list of something that you need to remember
People on YouTube would suggest to remember something like your grocery list (which will do) or the numbers of pi (which, while impressive, is unnecessary, I think)
I would suggest to not waste energy on something that doesn't apply to your life/studies.
Example: elements of the periodic table
4) Associate the list with the items in your mind palace
It doesn't always have to make perfect sense, you just need to relate to it while remembering later
Example: in my fridge, the eggs are kept separately at the top, just like Hydrogen in the periodic table
Next is Lithium, second row where we keep milk and so on.
5) For the first time, write down what you're associating everything with, a diagram on a plain paper works the best
So like, draw your fridge, make shapes that resemble the things in there and label them with the things that you are associating it with currently
6) Practice by Exploring Your Mind Palace
Like I said, it will need some time when you're doing it for the first time, but then, a practice for 15 minutes a day by venturing into your mind palace is enough
7) Make Your Mind Palace Bigger!
After you get the hang of it, just start renovating your mind palace bit by bit!
You don't need to keep just one mind palace, you can have as many as you want! Create one for remembering things about your family, another for school, another for birthdays of your friends, the list is endless
◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇
Hope this helps! If it did or you have any questions, feel free to send me a direct message or an ask, I'll be happy to talk to you about this and help you create your own mind palace Xx

How to pre-read before your lecture?
No it doesn’t mean just reading it or studying the lecture beforehand!
The rule of 8
Throughout reading the lecture you could write 8 questions that you didn’t understand at all
Or
After the lecture write 8 generic sentences that you understood and leave a space after each sentence so you could write the details you learnt after you’ve heard the lecture!
1st of February studying Challenge;
Read about something you’re interested in (so i did and it was very helpful pst 2 days!)
Thanks to you @studytheory ❤️

Create a morning routine

I sort of already have a daily routine; but since I started working recently, I changed it up a bit to fit in with my schedule. I start work at noon, so I wake up around seven forty-five. I usually have class at eight, so I have breakfast watching the first class. My classes, because of the pandemic, are happening remotely, which in a way helps me be more productive. If I don't have a class in the day, I use this time to do exercises and tasks. I finish everything around 10:30, leave the house, have lunch on the street and go to work. This is a photo I took around lunchtime, just before going to work. It's part of my routine to have a coffee reading a book in between.

Day 16: What's something you would like to make if you had the time and/or skill?
If I had the time I would love to start a new cross-stitch project! Over the summer I worked on a cross stitch pattern, but even then I was unable to finish it!
28 Days of Productivity Bingo
Day 16: Have a no phone day
I did not have a 100% no phone day. I was off of my phone for most of the day! I needed to create my reference sheet for my class and study for my exam the whole day.

Assess how and where you spend time.
I spend a lot of time scrolling on social media and not enough doing something productive lol. I don’t dislike social media, and I think that using social media wisely can be a good way to take breaks and spend your free time. However, having a good work-play balance is essential, and I do not have that right now. I need to spend more time studying for my classes, especially my sociology and political science classes.
Today, I...
worked on some Japanese homework
went to Japanese class
attended a Japanese practice session
attended a club
read the Federalist Papers no. 10
I woke up and got out of bed late, so I didn’t do as much as I wanted to and could’ve done, so I’m not very happy for that. Despite that, I was able to eat a good meal (and save some leftovers) from my dining hall, and I had a conversation with one of my brothers. My family is over 700 miles away and we’re all busy, so it’s nice to be able to talk with them when I can.
Currently reading: The Light Brigade
I’m a little over 100 pages away from finishing it. Maybe I’ll finish it over the weekend?

Reward yourself by doing something you love:
I joined VC with my friends, and had a long debate/ discussion about our personalities, with different interpretations of questions. Something which I really joined.
(I know pseudoscience etc but it's good conversation topic)
Finished all my maths practical while talking in the vc and watching my friends play games

Feb 03, 2022: day three of @studytheory's productivity bingo!

Create a morning routine:
Actually, I created three this mornings! All different versions of the same routine. I made a low, medium, and a high energy routine for mornings when I'm feeling my worst or best, and added a page for them in my Notion so I have easy access! I'll include them down below in case anyone is interested (the same routines don't work for everybody! this is just to give you an idea of how I've decided to try and schedule my mornings).
low energy (est. time: 10-30 mins)
stretch/yoga (optional)
shower (optional)
skincare (which consists of a double cleanse, then vitamin c serum, then moisturizer)
breakfast
mid energy (est. time 45-60 mins)
stretch/yoga
1 (one) workout video
shower
skincare
breakfast
tidy kitchen
high energy (est. time 1.5-2 hours)
stretch/yoga
2-3 workout videos
shower
skincare
hair/makeup (optional)
breakfast
tidy apartment

Week Overview + Daily Planner
Hello, I just created a minimalist Notion Template BuJo style!
The Week Overview is like a spread, with links to pages for the day! I've made the day planner template for the seven days separately.
I'm learning to navigate Notion without pre-made templates, what page should I make next? Please let me know :)

February 4th 2020
"Assess where you spend time"
The majority of my time is taken up by work and school. I work 6am-9am, classes 10am-1:50pm and then work again 2:30pm-8pm. I am hoping to break it up more so I can do homework outside of my office and have time for self care. My plans for this summer mainly consist on learning how to fully take care of myself, figuring out study techniques that work for me and I want to read more.

28 Days of Productivity Bingo - Day 1

Read about something that you find interesting
So for this first day and challenge, I chose a matter that is always interesting to me: marine biology. I think the way marine fauna lives is amazing. It's like a different world within our own world. My research was specifically about the abyssal seas and the animals that live there. Some ocean locations can reach up to 10000 meters (32808,4 ft) deep, like the Mariana's Trench. Deep water is considered to be a distance of at least 2000 meters (6561,68 ft) from the surface. Due to the pressure of the water, few living beings survive these hostile environments. For humans to access what exists in these places, it is necessary to use ROVs (remotely operated veicules).

One of the animals that most caught my attention in my reading was a cephalopod (same class as octopuses) called bigfin squid, or in its scientific name, Magnapinna. It was first sighted in the Gulf of Perdido, an oil platform in Mexico, 2007. The scary image of her caught attention - at first glance, it really looks like an alien. As there has never been contact with one of them alive, little is known about this animal. One of its main features, however, is its immense tentacles. The animal can reach 8 meters in total. Later, other videos of her were made, and in these the squid didn't look that scary. It is believed that the youngest beings of the species swim more shallower depths, while the adults live there at the bottom of the sea. Curious, huh?

On the left we see a younger and more recent species of squid. On the right, the famous photo in which she was discovered. Yes, that's the full size of the animal - giant.

Day 11 (17 February, 2022)
I had almost the required amount, I'd say.
Current progress:
Things haven't been good lately tbh, and I have been dealing with a lot of anxiety these past few days, thankfully I'm keeping afloat because of my friends. I haven't been studying anything except my German and it's horrid because I know the date for NEET will be out soon. I need to clear my head and start concentrating on that again instead of uni.
