One of my all-time favourite picrews for a reason, this tiefling maker has everything on your checklist and so much more! It has 3 androgynous body types to choose from (with options to add cleavage, an adam's apple, neither or both!) and 8 face shapes!

One of my favourite things about this picrew is the skin details, so if you'd like to keep your changeling's skin pristine and unmarked you can do that but if you, like me, like to add subtle interest you can apply subtle grey blush and vitiligo like I've done in the example images. There are also scars, wrinkles, freckles, facial hair and goliath-esque markings, all of which can be layered over each other. Clothing options are versatile and there are some great accessories too!

Only one gender-neutral body type for this one but it somewhat makes up for it with 7 face shapes to choose from. This picrew is greyscale so if you want to make a changeling who dresses in colourful clothing or accessories this might not be the best choice. However the options for pure white skin and hair and solid colour eyes work really well for changelings. Clothing choices lean a little modern but there are options that work for high fantasy and historical settings too.

Canon Character Design: Thalias

Mitth'ali'astov first appeared in Chaos Rising, the first of the Thrawn: Ascendancy novels, as the Caretaker for the navigator Che'ri noted for having been a navigator (or sky-walker) herself. In Recrimination, Thalias is now a highly respected and influential Syndic of the Mitth Family, also holding strong ties with the Ufsa and Irizi Families due to her husband and daughter's connections to those clans. So I wanted to make a dice box since when I’m playing space is at a premium.  I found some amazing instructions here:

I added a few separations on the bottom to keep dice and pawn separate, some elastic and mesh on the top to keep pens, my flight riser and pawn bottoms out of the way, and a plexiglass panel on the front.  There’s space behind the plexiglass for me to slip in laminated character cards with pertinent info for the GM.  

This was so much fun to make and I hope you check out Jade’s site to see the original box and get inspired by some of her other crafts!

Character Spotlight: Soont Alden

A dark sorcerer with powerful influence in the Force, Alden's background is as mysterious as his temperament is volatile. He believes the people of the galaxy must embrace the principle of absolute order if they are to survive the immense threat he has foreseen, even if it comes at the cost of their individuality and autonomy.

Alden is visually and conceptually inspired by the character of Joruus C'baoth, who first appeared in Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire. In adapting this character to Recrimination, I altered his motivation to align with the central conflict of Abeloth's growing influence, as well as to present the ideological questions of the good of the many vs the good of the few and the rights of the citizen under an imperiled state. I have not kept the clone backstory in order to condense the character, as I feel that in my story Alden functions best as a simple Season 1 antagonist, defeated in the finale but serving as a warning of threats to come.

Fairy Picrew Recommendations - Part 1

Fairies were introduced to D&D 5e as an official playable race in 2021's Wild Beyond the Witchlight and as far as physical appearance goes they're pretty versatile!

The only specific visual features 5e fairies share in common are their humanoid shape, small size and their wings but other than that almost anything goes! There are no restrictions in terms of colouring or extras like tails, horns and fangs.

With that in mind, my main priority in these are a good selection of wings. However, I've also tried to choose picrews with lots of additional fantastical features to help your fairies feel especially otherworldly, magical and ethereal.

Okay, so about that old self indulgent Wistim Au.

Disclaimer before I go on:

I was frankly, losing it back then when I first came up with it so most of what I've got is from my incoherent rambles to myself. So it's not peer reviewed, it's not revised, I was the only one who ever heard of it so I didn't even bother to polish. It's 100% me shoving whatever I wanted into the plot with full disregard for canon

This was made right before the season 2 finale came out so it's not accurate to how that went down

Looking back at it now, it's not the best plot but eh, I had fun with it

Okay? Got it? Good.

So the Au (Which I've nicknamed Aether lord Au) was a what-if scenario for the conclusion of Hero's defeat. Basically, Steve managed to kill Hero after a battle and re-absorbed him. Sadly, both him and Withy had spent all their strength on beating Hero which meant that there was none left that could be used to sustain Steve's body. So, Steve's dying. He tries his hardest to convince himself and the others that he'd fine with it because really, he's been running on borrowed time. But him, Withy and Endy know that's not true. Imagine sort of like season 1's finale but there's no fight, just a quiet chat in the ruins of the destroyed village.

Alex tries to go for the killing blow but Endy decides that unlike last time, she's not going to just let him go. Both her and Withy will actually do something to help him. So they go fetch Endy's things

From which she fetches the totem. Steve refuses it, out of fear of what happened last time to happen again. But the demons insist, after all, he's without evil this time so the effect should be different. Ultimately, Steve accepts it right before dying and the totem's magic activates.

Unlike last time, when Steve was almost fully corrupted, the totem works in a different way. It restores Steve's body and infuses it with magic (Which somehow turns out to be from the Aether? I think I settled with the totem being a lost artifact from there.), turning into something else.

I never made like a proper design for him bc he mostly just existed in my head as the vibe of a character but he now looks something like this:

He still looks somewhat human but also something more.

So the plot from then on would be him getting Endy and Withy out of his head (Building a body for Withy, helping Endy's egg hatch) and learning from them what it means to be.. well, whatever he is now. He's obviously not going to heed their every advice (Bc some of it is not good sgjshs) but it's nice to not be alone when faced with something like this.

So yeah! I really like where canon ended up heading so I kinda ditched this Au shortly after but man, it's a fun Au (To me at least). As fun as it is to put Steve through the meat grinder, it's also nice to treat him to something good every once in a while. So why not make an Au where he turns into a demi-god lmao
