The anti-Will hate (and homophobia) at the Stranger Things subreddit is only explained because they're afraid that Byler might ACTUALLY be endgame

Think about it: if there really was no possibility of a Byler endgame, people who dislike the idea would just be a lot CALMER about it, and not act this way. (Someone pointed out: Do we ever see this vitriol when it comes to Elmax breaking up Mileven? Nope!)

First, some angry curt answers that make you feel like you just encountered Angela-like bullies:

Um, hello? What about Jonathan and Nancy in the very mystery-horror Season 1? And who said "forced romance"? WHAT ROMANCE ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT? lol

Um, but it IS? We had an ENTIRE RUSSIAN PRISON BREAK SUBPLOT in s4 whose only real purpose was for Joyce and Hopper to reunite. And the A plot had Max's story and Lumax mixed in. Methinks some people aren't happy with GAY romance in their horror/sci-fi show.

Of course, everyone who answered the OP "Yes, with Mike!" gets downvotes. (Not my downvote!) And even just saying that you ship Byler but would be okay if Will ends up with someone ELSE besides Mike gets hasty downvotes:

Anyway, in conclusion, if Byler were NOT a real possibility at all, would (some) Mileven fans act this way, as if you're touching a sore spot and they need to lash back?

(Note that I include among "Milevens" those that are just homophobic or anti-Byler, because in the end they want Mike to be with Eleven, too.) I'm sure there are many cool Milevens out there. But DAMN are some of these reactions at the ST subreddit out of proportion...

lol well, they're free to daydream as they wish. One of my biggest peeves in writing is seeing women treated as shallow trophy objects or endgame 'prizes to be won' by the male audience's self-insert character. HOWEVER knowing how ONE wrote Tsubomi - 'the flower on a far off hill' in mp100 to be seen as a person first and foremost, to be a lesson specifically on how not to be that 'prize' for Mob, is why we can trust he definitely wouldn't do that to the opm girls simply written off as that 'prize' for Saitama either.

finally watching aitch bomber guys' video on plagiarism, and I'm about an hour deep into the james somerton part and hooooly shit man. besides being angry about him stealing from other gay people and then sending fans to harass people who discover his plagiarism, the more I listen to his voice drone on, the more. insulted. I feel. idk why, but the way he reads sentences always makes me feel like he's sight reading everything, with not even an attempt to really understand the material, like, he's always putting the emphasis on the same part of the sentence regardless of the context or what actually deserves the emphasis, because he doesn't actually know what deserves the emphasis because if he DID know he wouldn't have to plagiarize so fucking much. point is, I guess, he sounds like a lazy grifter because he is one
