ougghhh everyone’s talking so fondly about lionpaw and his new friendships made by the ripwater event but all i can think about is his mention of ashfur’s comment. and how lion probably thinks it’s just a little joke but ash might actually mean it :(
There's this little pearl of a theme hidden in the Ripwater Episode, if you look carefully; abuse acts on people in insidious but subtle ways.
It's Mistystar who's defensive of asking for help or admitting a problem, thinking of what she did to Leopardstar and also repeating cultural sentiment that once victimized her herself.
It's Squirrelflight shouting at her daughter for acting like she used to, because she's spent some years being yelled at in a similar way
It's Hollypaw who isn't allowed to enjoy her achievement of saving Otterpaw's life or lean into how much she has in common with Lakepaw, because she's ashamed of how she did something "wrong" by snooping
And lastly, it's Lionpaw, who's starting to believe the vicious comments that Ashfur says about him. I referenced Willowpelt partially for the sweet little irony of him teaching her recipe to her unknown grandson, Ripplepaw, but ALSO because Ashfur is starting to isolate him.
Willowpelt is the Head of Hunting, currently, a position that Lionblaze is going to succeed her in. I don't think Ashfur is playing 4D chess quite yet, but there's a couple of little motivations knocking around in Ashfur's heart for why he's nasty whenever Lionpaw interacts with her;
Ashfur hates Willowpelt, because of the events from Ferncloud's Parting. He isn't aggressive to her directly, but he does spread rumors and slander whenever possible, happy to remind others of her exile.
Lionpaw getting close to Willowpelt will annoy him. Ashfur both hates and resents his apprentice, but also feels POSSESSIVE of him. He feels like Willowpelt will "steal" what's his.
A simple but hard truth; Ashfur wants Lionpaw to hurt. Maybe Ashfur sees it in his head like "telling the hard truth" or "toughening his apprentice up," but when he makes those malicious little comments, makes him recoil with hurt, it feels righteous.
Maybe in the next draft, it should actually be Ashfur, not Blackclaw, who comes to growl at Lionpaw for bonding with Lakepaw over the spears. Maybe have Willowpelt come in to show them how to properly use one and that's actually what set Ash off. Like he just used xenophobia because it was convenient in that moment.

literally in love with ur art and noritoshi like lord 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️my man is so underrated its criminal
criminally underrated.......
Noritoshi should be praised, not subjected to this slander. as a simp- I mean good samaritan, it's my passion to bring his name into a good light even if his name is after the worst person but I digress, this isn't abt him
free my boy from the confines of his sentence. he's so babygirl, bro.... why is everyone looking over him. where's his screen time. Noritoshi, if you're out there, I miss you.
and tysm! it makes me happy to know my art is pleasing and doing Noritoshi justice. my plan of indoctrination and gathering Noritoshi enjoyers is going smoothly.

That is Ash’s drink of choice. Shemp’s. Uh, season 3, I’m lobbying to introduce, uh, uh, Shemp’s chips, Shemp’s pretzels, like there’s a whole Shemp’s empire, out there. And, um, that’s what I’m--that’s what I spent all my time worrying about.

i've been playing fields of mistria lately and it's still in early access but i quite enjoy it so far!
i've seen it referred to as a stardew valley-esque game -- which is commonly brought up when talking about the 'cozy game' of the day -- but i don't think that's fair here, unless by "like stardew valley" people mean "a farming sim that's genuinely fun to play," in which case... yeah.
because... well. i cannot claim to have played all farming sims, or even a majority of farming sims, but i have played several -- a few story of seasons, a few rune factories, harvestella (tho that feels like it barely counts), among others, and... look, with some of these games you have to try to love them at times. certain mechanics can be frustrating. it can be a slog to keep up with exhaustion and keeping crops and animals tended to.
and while, admittedly, it's still early access and ive just barely gotten to summer, so there's still a lot more for me to discover, fields of mistria has a lot of features that prevent some of these common frustrations
you can jump! which i just barely learned can get me through parts of the map faster bc i can jump down in some areas instead of walking to the path down lmao. the things that you don't have room for remain on the map... indefinitely, i believe?? i havent seen them disappear even days later, so i pass out less often bc there's no need to run home, clear my inventory, and run back to collect the item before end of day clears it away forever. inventory management is still my biggest frustration, but that's just a fact of the genre. it's got me focused on reaching my next backpack upgrade instead of being discouraged by losing things often. and when you unlock cosmetics, you can change them freely at any point. no fee, no having to go to a location to change things up. very convenient. AND you don't have to fill up your watering can!!!! yeehaw!!!!!!!!
i do wish i could place objects in (non-quest) chests quicker and not have to manually place items, and it feels mean to have several hot older women in the game who are not on the list of prospective romance partners, but. so far i feel like mistria brings too much of its own charms to the table to be dismissed as just trying to be like stardew

Call me bitter but I do get a lil mad when white women talk about how white men are allowed to be mediocre in music cause like lol as a p/woc who was a musician for a long while, YOU were literally part of the ones trampling all over me and other w/poc in scenes too, YOU are also part of the rabble who shit talk up and coming woc in music to me thinking I would for some reason agree with you, YOU are all literally allowed to sound the exact same 3 brands of whisper singer/songwriter and still get deals and shows and etc at rates higher than the rest of us, HELLO?! sosnskskkaka

I said I was working on Michael x reader fics, and I'm finally getting around to editing an old WIP that's still super fun. I'm so stoked to share it with you soon!
Here's a lil snippet:
October; and a sizable, ridiculously heavy chocolate pumpkin, orange and shiny, appeared in the shop window. Not long after, he came in for the first time. A customer who wore a mask, even though it was not even mid-October. His tall, broad stature looked out of place in the cramped chocolate shop. Although out of the ordinary, there was no reason for any response to his appearance but a friendly greeting.
The customer was unusual in behaviour as well. He pointed at the display with the seasonal pralines, then put several crumpled bank notes on the counter.
(since I started it a long time ago my English has actually improved and now I have to edit out so many silly mistakes hahah)

I don’t think Louis wants anyone (his fans, the industry, the 3 ppl in the gp who care) to speculate/talk about his personal life at all. The child as a proxy for being straight is meant to shut it all down (never mind that queer men legitimately father children all the damn time). I think if Harry had not gotten to be as big as he is this wouldn’t be such an issue for Louis (regardless of their current relationship status of which I have no opinion) - which is why the kid talk returned when it did, and why L had to get this album out to clear the extremely Harry-centric LT1 album out of the fan consciousness. Louis just wants no one in his business and if that means burning bridges with existing fans he’s ok with that. I’m hoping he focuses more on the business side of music and developing new artists in the future where a personal narrative to sell a brand or songs doesn’t matter.
Damn, there's so many parts of this ask that I want to comment on but I think what best sums up my thoughts in regards to all the Louis' actions you pointed out is: big mistake, huge.
