well, obviously, they would be completely fine. absolutely no negative reactions or breakdowns or obsessive thoughts hindering their ability to function and be mentally healthy. of course.

however, i feel like swk would be more subtle about it. like maybe he hears something out of context said by MK or Mei or Tang or Red Son or Sandy (who might have also jumped to the same conclusion) and is like “oh……” and then is oddly quiet for maybe a month, freaking out MK

also, SWK would have his own internal battle of wanting to see Macky to confirm but also not wanting to see Macackle because the confirmation would break him. but he would make so many excuses to see Macaroon by visiting Pigsy’s noodle shop then chicken out when the time does come (the funny part of me says that Pigsy is the only one aware of SWK’s true intentions and is very annoyed about it)

the anger doesn’t really come until SWK feels fed up with Macaroni’s “mixed signals,” meaning Macky’s very bad attempts at being civil/flirting. because “if Macky thinks he can just use my feelings while being in a relationship he can think again!” (despite Macky never being in a relationship but Wukong never confirmed this so is mad for the sake of this hypothetical SO and himself while struggling with his own very messy feelings. because he likes it when Mac has his attention on him, he likes it when Mac tries to woo him the same way he had tried when they were younger and ignorant, he likes it when Mac cannot help but look at Wukong, he likes it when he makes Mac forget all about that stupid significant other because Wukong and Mac used to be something and could still be that something if Mac just gave Wukong a chance or if they had never ended their old relationship like the way they did. if only, if only, if only, if only, if only—

so, Macky hearing through the very botched grapevine that Wukong is back in the dating scene? man’s is not handling it well. house/apartment/whatever establishment he was staying in is trashed. he replans his revenge against Wukong. he stalks Wukong obsessively bc he has to see that bastard in the act because maybe then he’ll be free. he would sabotage any and all attempts of demons, humans, whoever that whispers about pursuing Wukong because….reasons

(obviously the reasons are not the fact that Wukong moving on terrifies him, the fact that he can be so easily replaced hurts, the fact that he cannot let go despite everything, the fact that Wukong still smiles the same, that Wukong still laughs the same but it’s so much lighter, that he understood what it was like to be loved and cared about by Wukong. to have all of his attention on Macky, to hold him so gently even though these same hands could break him (and have), to be treasured and desired by someone so powerful. how could Mackarell give up something so precious? he is still selfish and has been deprived for f that love for too long. why on earth would he ever wish for someone else to have a piece of what he once had?)

Aziraphale has never fell (yet), only assigned (or perhaps demoted?) to Earth and humans. Heaven is his home. that is where he comes from, what he has always known. he may live on Earth and in his bookshop, may spend the rest of eternity there if allowed, but he’ll always have his first home waiting for him, or perhaps his first home he is waiting for to call him back, tugging incessantly at the back of his mind. it doesn’t matter that he doesn’t fit there quite as nicely as the other angels. it doesn’t matter that Gabriel and the others threatened him and everything he loves. it doesn’t matter the danger, the toxicity, the abuse, the manipulation, the selfishness, the cold and cruelty of it all. that’s his home. Heaven is home. and angels are supposed to love and see the best in everything, unconditionally. it doesn’t mean they see right, but that’s angel eyes for you. and so the bookshop is his home-away-from-home. it isn’t meant to last forever, as he tells Crowley. it isn’t. the bookshop is Aziraphale’s own little corner of Heaven on Earth, his physical shelter among humans. but it is just a place. that doesn’t diminish his love for it, for what it contains, nor the time he has passed in it or the people he has shared it with. to Aziraphale, the place doesn’t equate the memories. it’s just a place. it’s just an impermanent and concrete house. never a forever home.

Crowley… lost his home. but your angel doesn’t see your home for what it is and is wholeheartedly willing to leave it behind and take it away from you.

their homes don’t align. and so their hearts cannot either.

Crowley responds I can see now I was entirely mistaken to trust you would care for my heart and I’m letting you go back to the place you truly want, the only place that doesn’t want me, and that hurts angel. Aziraphale hears I’m judging your choices and feel such pity for your dreams of home that I would never want to be a part of it.

THIS IS MY HOME. YOU ARE IT. // I WANT BETTER FOR US. FOR YOU.

they’ve become so intrinsically intertwined and obsessed and with each other that they cannot fathom the other thinking of home differently. they are BLIND. blinded and blinding. 6,000 years of loyal companionship will do that to you. and perhaps it is time for each of them to grow a little on their own, so they can circle back to each other, back home home, back to them, their us, just like stars in a nebula align.

The potential of combining Marble Hornets and Soulmate AUs drives me up the WALL with thoughts like:

- MH Soulmate AU where you can feel when your Soulmate is near. Tim has a sinking feeling as to why he keeps getting that same feeling around the Hooded Guy but he’s scared to admit it to Jay. He’s not even sure he can believe it himself— surely that’s not Brian?

- MH Soulmate AU where you get symbols on your skin representing your Soulmates. Alex can’t see Brian’s Sunflower, Amy’s Needle And Thread, or any of the other’s Soul Marks anymore. A big circle with an X through it now covers each and every one of them, and he knows in more ways than one, he’s tied to this creature who haunts him.

- MH Soulmate AU where the name of your enemy and your lover are written on each of your wrists, but you don’t know which is which. Brian jokes with Alex about how funny it is that the two most impactful people in his life have the same name. He now knows, years after the fact, that they are one and the same.

- MH Soulmate AU where you get the ability to see color only after you fall in love but it goes back to grayscale when that person dies. Tim, who has been enjoying his life of color ever since he fell in love with Jay while hotel hopping, hears a gunshot from inside Benedict Hall and watches the color bleed away and goes back to being gray.

- MH Soulmate AU where the symbols representing your Soulmates on your skin become scarred over when your Soulmates die. Jay one day wakes up sometime after the Summer of 2006 and realizes that two of his Soulmates marks have been scarred over and desperately tries to get back in contact with everyone because he doesn’t know who to grieve.

- MH Soulmate AU where tattoos of flowers representing your Soulmates bloom on your skin after you meet them and stay forever. Tim gets a compliment on the beautiful tattoos covering his body from an old lady who remarks how lucky he is that he not only has so many Soulmates, but has met them all at such a young age. Tim smiles as earnestly as he can, and doesn’t tell her that none of them are alive anymore.

- MH Soulmate AU where marks appear on your skin only after you meet your Soulmate. The cast gets together one day and shows theirs off, happy that they’ve found Soulmates, whether they be romantic or platonic, in each other. There’s one Tim has that he doesn’t like to talk about however— an O with an X through it. They don’t pry— not all Soulmates are good ones after all, just impactful. But in the coming weeks, one by one, they’ll all wake up with identical marks on their skin but without the slightest idea of who they came into contact with to make it appear.

One day, Alex will see it up close, and shudder at the sight of the Operator’s faceless head and colorless skin with a complete lack of marks. The Operator has no Soul Marks and will never have any, as it only takes and marks others as it’s own.

- MH Soulmate AU where your Soulmate’s scars appear on your own body. Jessica doesn’t know why Tim wears a scarf all the time until she catches a glimpse of a jagged scarred-over cut on his throat. She doesn’t ask of course, but she wonders, and sometimes wishes she could bring it up and finally have someone who understands her. Because there’s a scar over where her heart would be that she instinctively knows it’s Amy’s and knows it’s the reason why she’ll never see her again, and she thinks Tim would understand that better than anyone.

- MH Soulmate AU where the names of your Soulmates are written on your wrist but are crossed out when they die. Brian, in his shack in the woods, gently traces over the crossed out names of Sarah Reid and Seth Wilson and vows, no more. And yet, it is easier said than done, because the name ‘Alex Kralie’ is written in mocking, looping letters on his skin but it is the reason he hesitates, even when he has a gun pressed against Alex’s head, because thinking about even Alex’s name being crossed off too makes him feel more sick than he’d like to admit.

- MH Soulmate AU where Soulmates feel each others pain, and when Alex brings a block of cement down on the Masked Man’s leg, Jay cries out in agony right alongside him.

There’s just. SO much potential there for tragedy, canon divergence, Hurt/Comfort, fluff, and horror alike. They’re all so inter-connected and having a physical representation of that is so GOOD, y’know?

A personal observation:: Over time, I realized that the reason why I like Sub! Reader fics is not for self-insert reasons but bc my tendency is to visualize smut scenes from either third POV or the Character’s POV. The mental image of pretty little Reader crying and being subjected to Character’s touches…….aahhhhh maybe the Character was my self-insert all along (°▽°)

This may also stem from the fact that I usually indulge my Sub! Character needs by shipping them with other canon characters?? Though lately, I started writing more Dom! and Switch! Readers for WHB, and fufufu it’s been quite fun. And let’s not forget what happened between Dottore and Assistant! Darling in Chemistry <3

2. NuNew - I liked how Cutie Pie incorporated his singing. It’s fine if it’s a performance built into the show. He has a good voice and I enjoy listening to him. 10/10 would go see him in concert

3. ISBANKY - Solid voice. Impeccable vibes. Did not like the sing your feelings bit in Big Dragon but that’s because I hate that trope. It’s less awful when he’s doing it though. Also y’all should watch his Part of Your World music video if you haven’t. 9.8/10 I have listened to him on repeat

4. Gemini - He’s so young but exceptionally talented. I’m glad the MSP Our Skyy episodes had him singing. Although I think MSP had too much singing for the runtime it had (still loved the show though), it severely underutilized Gemini’s voice. And if I’m not mistaken, he also plays a few instruments. 9/10 I cannot wait to see what he does in the future I certainly hope he pursues music at some point

And like if he had, I don’t know if Aziraphale would listen. His big flaw is that he sees the good and thinks heaven is still good. Which Crowley challenged him on a bit but in a way that was more jokingly. Like I don’t think Crowley ever wanted to have the “if I’m not evil then why was I cast out” conversation with Aziraphale like. I wouldn’t if that was my only friend and he never seemed receptive. Lol i love analyzing this bs but guys I do not have the energy in my day to deadass assign blame in fictional character’s temporary fuck up when it’s pretty much guaranteed they’ll get each other on the right page

let it be known that anyone who’s got kaldur as their least favorite team 0 member is just straight up racist because that dude is the definition of poise, badassness and amazing powers, is literally from under sea and his dad is a crimelord, which comes w angst in itself.

also one of the few characters who has proven time and time again that he could be trusted w any form of leadership and do good with it. villains are scared of him, wally was jealous that he would hook up w artemis while they were undercover in season 2, is extremely relatable in the sense that he got so much responsibilities from a young age and since then had to deal w the maladaptive tendencies that came w it (which are him thinking that he was needed at all time by everyone and that his worth was defined by how many responsibilities he was carrying, when it’s not at all the case) and eventually got over this tendency in s4 (or at the very least learnt to lessen it a bit)

is also the one we see the most interact w the rest of the og team individually. he has a special bond and dynamic w each and every single one of them, smth we are not shown that much w other ogs, whose interactions often only vary between two other members or less.

honestly lowkey surprised to see how many people reacting negatively to the trailer? ive been saying to friends that we don’t really know much of anything yet, other than this basically being a partial roster reveal and a confirmation of what we’ve all suspected since mk11 ended (fresh timeline) so that’s not really much of a surprise either. Imo the biggest thing here was a release date + preorder announcement. (Speaking of, I don’t believe Shang Tsung will end up being a preorder only bonus. Dlc? Oh yeah absolutely but I can’t see them restricting him like that. If anything it’ll just be a waiting period before the rest of us get our hands on him.) We don’t even know which Sub Zero that was lmao there’s still really not much story knowledge to be had.

We’ll definitely be getting more information the closer we get to the release date, whether via official channels or leaks, and with that I’ll form more of a solid anticipatory opinion on my expectations but right now it feels too early to go anywhere past ‘oh shit new game this year!’ because we really don’t. Have anything outside of that? Unless some of y’all have inside sources you aren’t sharing djfkfkf in which case, sharing is caring.

I’m excited to potentially see more of Edenia and I’m really curious about what Liu Kang’s version of events will look like. I’m also wondering if they end up pulling something similar to Dark Raiden with Human Raiden where it only lasts for like like half an hour and then he’s normal again, I think that’d be a bit funny. If they let me run around and explore I will be absolutely fucking Delighted. If they have some sort of create a fighter thing going on? (Liu Kang’s voiceover maybe might possibly have hinted it?? Could just be wishful thinking on my end) I would be even more thrilled if that were the case. The tag team thing from what I understand of it now does confuse me a bit, and if given the choice I’d prefer a larger roster over a tag in format, but like I said, I’ll hold off on any strong feelings about that until I see more of it.

Also I think I’m more relaxed about the announcements for this franchise because it’s not like a new timeline completely negates the old one. Normally time travel and its related tropes kill my interest on arrival, but with mk it always struck me as more exploratory than anything else. What I’m saying is you can still vibe with other timelines more than the new one and they’re all still equally canon since they exist separately. 30 years of canon would be an unholy mess to keep track of if they intended to have it all be continuous, from a storytelling perspective having multiple timelines was probably the best choice they could have made with the circumstances given.

Idk I’m just interested to see where this goes and excited to see more from this universe, and it feels like some people are just determined to find something to pick apart no matter what. There will be more than enough space for criticism once we get the final product, a two minute cinematic showing off a partial roster and what will almost definitely be some fatalities isn’t enough to go off of yet. I’ll definitely be finding something in the new game to latch onto in canon and have fun with & I’m looking forward to seeing what aspects of it end up resonating with me in the end
