made the mistake of asking my advisor about the timeline for my proposal now that we're had our first committee meeting without having actually looked at the state of my proposal (mid-editing, because I dropped part of the project and expanded upon another part, and was partway through fixing stuff when the semester started). Naturally my advisor actually wants to see where it is, so.... so much for everything else on my to-do list today/tomorrow, I am doing as much editing as I can before sending it back over because I do not think that my advisor would be particularly impressed by the number of (SOURCE???) placeholders I have at the moment.

just learned that a group of female 'witnesses' advocated for the introduction of mother and baby homes to a government committee in the 1930s & were in large part responsible for their introduction :( fighting for their servitude as if for salvation etc etc....

I was really hoping to get my proposal defense done in the second half of March, and that was what my advisor was talking about originally, but today she decided first week of April instead, because my proposal still needs a lot of edits.

The proposal still needs lots of edits because I asked for feedback on it a week and a half ago and didn't hear back from her about it until this afternoon. I didn't want to touch it while she had it because then there's multiple copies floating around, so that's a week and a half editing time lost. Will see if I can get the corrections she asked for made by, like, Thursday, then send it back for further feedback. Which will hopefully be minimal.

(would aim for earlier than that, but I have homework due tomorrow, plus six hours of class between Tues/Wed, plus assisting, plus lab work, plus a seminar....my weeks are very frontloaded)

"Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor disclosed on Tuesday that it had received testimonies indicating that bodies of Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza seemed to have 'evaporated or melted,' suggesting the use of prohibited thermal weapons in residential areas.

The Geneva-based rights group called for an international investigation into the matter, urging that an 'international committee of experts must be established to look into the weapons Israel has been using as part of its genocide in the Gaza Strip ... including the potential use of bombs that produce such high heat that victims’ bodies evaporate.'

According to the report, the genocidal war on Gaza, which has resulted in the martyrdom of over 34,000 Palestinians at the least, raises concerns about the potential use of 'thermal weapons', or what are known as 'vacuum bombs' - well-known in military circles for their efficacy in demolishing caves and underground tunnel complexes.

'A number of the victims killed in these horrifying Israeli raids on residential buildings have vanished and may have turned to ashes, raising questions about the type of bombs used in the attacks,' Euro-Med said, also adding that thousands of martyrs 'remain missing, either because it was impossible to recover them from under the debris in light of insufficient equipment and technical know-how, or because their bodies were either hidden by the Israeli army or no longer exist.'"
