I see that in whatever semi-canon side universe the Mario Kart games take place in, Mario and Luigi are blue collar mechanics who work together in tire service and engine repair.

In light of this, one thing I really like is the way their shops are designed, with Mario having a roof bent to form a letter M while Luigi’s roof has a wrap-around neon banner to give it something of an L shape.

I like that. Nice bit of design there.

The character select screen in Mario Kart: Super Circuit contains an undocumented, easily missed functionality whereby pressing R will make the currently selected racer jump, while pressing L will shoot a Green Shell.

Has buster ever showed or experienced jealousy or envy? For example, if he were to see his caretaker REAAALLY close to someone, would he be standoffish to them?

on the contrary, he'd be curious.

at first, anyway.

what does his human like so much about this person? what are they doing that he should be to make himself more important to her? buster wants to observe, take notes, figure out how the relationship ticks.

that doesn't mean he won't become jealous, of course.

this other person gets to spend time with his human out in the world. they get to experience it with her, do fun things, eat good food, live.

they aren't confined to one room, to an unfortunate body, to a singular purpose and existence.

her perception of them isn't restrained by what little time they see each other, spent in a controlled environment; he's under no illusions, though she's kind to him, she's there to fulfill a requirement and little else.

the more he considers it, the more jealous he becomes.

he can't say with any honesty that he hasn't run a few hypothetical scenarios where the other human has found themself alone, with him in his space, within reach of powerful electro-mobile appendages....

pretty wild highs & lows since childbirth. renovations still ongoing at a distance with move date uncertain; live-in postpartum care worker my parents dubcon-gifted us who's hard to communicate with (language barrier) and is doing unsafe-seeming food practices; family stuff both sides; health issues from a complicated labor. there's also the actual baby, but right now she's noticeably less difficult than the interpersonal stuff. nonetheless, they are problems, which I seem to adore having
