Walter and Max are in the same friend group (idk yet whos in it but van gogh's probly there) they often bicker and have fights, the group doesnt find this indearing, its really annoying.

Walter thinks it's all in good fun while Max genuinely dislikes him

Walter is constantly talking about his clone father and his characters, often 'bragging' about how well known walt disney is. Max finds this to be pretentious but Walter just has genuine pride and interest in his predecessor

OF COURSE!!!

long post ahead- I'll throw some reminders about witches and magic in Aiden's universe, talk about his family and then Aiden specifically.

Witches.

Witches are basically halfbloods of both realms : the Mystic and the Matter (original I know-). Because of that they are influenced by both realms.

● Advantages they have on humans are : they can sense the flow of magic, they get some cool powers, and they can cast spells without the help of an artifact as long as they studied said spell. (And they have cool eye colors lol)

● However they are binded by some rules : they cannot break promises as they act like magical contracts, lying isnt natural to them (it's seen as taboo between witches because their words carry power, some cannot lie at all), and magic is something they need to live (like food, its energy they need to sustain. Unless their powers are binded already since it wouldn't need to be replenished anymore)

● Each bloodlines have their own specialty/power depending on who/what they descend from. And not every member has the same amount of power. (If both parents are witches, the child will inherit the magic from only one of them).

● Humans are easier targets for spells but Witches aren't immune to magic either, they can use spells on fellow witches, family members and even themselves.

● Witches can bind their powers, through various means, to live as humans if they want but it can be permanent and sometimes impact their overall health

● Witchlings are sometimes concidered more powerful because they lack self control and awareness. Magic being part of the witch themself it will react to emotions and to the person's confidence.

The Venefica family (Aiden's)

The Venefica family descends from a demon, which is a fact the family has been keeping secret since forever. Their speciality is mind magic and its mostly similar to hypnosis : you implement a suggestion into the target's mind who will think of it as their own if your spell succeed.

But. The family isn't really open about the extent of its ability. They will more often describe it as a supportive type of magic (helping people feeling better or more confident, etc)

What it can actually do :

The basis of mind magic is to make the target do what you want or to make them feel however you want them to, without the target necessarilly realising you are influencing them. It can be a one time command or be longlasting. Aside from that, it can also be used as body enhancement of sorts : by making the target forget its limit and render them unable to feel pain for exemple (in that case it is dangerous to the body and can result in long lasting damage). More difficult abilities mind magic gives are : telepathy and being able to go through and modify people's memories.

HOW it works :

It depends on the Witch using said power, the command AND the target. Witches who are less powerful will have more difficulties and limits. Target wise, strong willed people are harder to influence. And of course the more out of character a command is, the more magic you need to convince the target to do it.

Overall, the more contact with the target, the better it works.

For exemple : less powerful members of the family could need physical contact, eye contact AND to tell their command out loud to the target. Meanwhile more powerful Veneficas could use their powers with a simple whisper to the target.

Plus, if you want the command to work long term you might need repetitive contact with the target to make sure your magic still influencing them. Though it is possible to keep it from a distance by using artefacts or other tricks (a burning candle's fume or a beverage made to fuel the spell for exemple)

Lastly if the target already trusts you or if you know them well enough it will be easier to influence their mind. (Straight up gaslighting people does help- so knowing how your target usually thinks makes it easier)

Now to delve more about Aiden!

● I'll be honest she's a bit overpowered, which is a whole problem for a while because she never got to learn how to use her powers correctly until the journey through the 7 kingdoms.

It used to get him into trouble when he was a kid (because he didnt understand what was going on yet so it put himself and others in danger). But he does think it helped him making friends easily throughout his life (without his knowing at the time).

● As of now they mostly uses their power to appease people or as some sort of painkiller. Pretty useful for a physician surrounded by idiots getting hurt 24/7. And now (post 7k) they are powerful enough to not need physical contact most of the time.

● She does use it on herself.

● Eventually (few years after 7k) Aiden gets to be able to go through other people's memories but if its without the other's consent they will need physical contact to do so.

● So far, telepathy and memory reading only works well with Varian and Hugo (and pets to some degree), because they give Aiden their permission whenever and they are the ones he gets to practice on the most. But he does need eye contact and to concentrate for it to work. It's even more effective when it is calm around them.

For the pets, because they can't talk, telepathy with them is closer to sharing feelings and concepts rather than articulated thoughts.

Random facts :

● Artefacts to enhance a witch's power exist

● A witch's eye color depends on their mystical ancestor and the amount of power the witch possesses. (Veneficas are associated with purple and their eyes go from indigo to a pinkish purple, indigo usually being the weakest)

● When a witch uses magic their eyes will glimmer more or less slightly. The bigger the spell the more visible it should be.

● When a witch dies, their spells dissipates unless it is carried by an artefact.

That's about it!

● Same for promises. If someone involved in one dies, the contract becomes null.

● I am still debating about it but I think it could be neat if witches got physical traits from their magical ancestor whenever they get into the Mystic Realm-

Hero x Villain #1 Banter

@write-it-motherfuckers Thank you for the prompt! Here’s a little blurb I wrote from it. 

“I don’t need your help!” Villain snarls, trying to push Hero off of them. “You don’t need my help? You can hardly stand right now, much less fight.” 

“I’m fine. Now let go of me, dammit!” Hero’s eyes narrow in annoyance. “You want me to let go. Fine, be stubborn.” Hero lets go only for Villains knees to immediately give out from under them. “See, just look at yourself. Let me help you.” Hero begs, stepping closer. “I don’t want your pity!”

“It’s not pity, I care about you.” They say before gently sweeping the pitiful looking villain up into their arms. “Now let’s get you home.” 

“You should have stayed out of it.” Villain hisses. 

“Well what was I supposed to do, watch my friend die?” Hero asks. 

The Villains head snaps towards them, a look of pure repulsion on their face. “Disgusting! Don’t ever refer to me as that again!”

“What? Refer to you as ‘My friend?’  

Villain gags loudly. “What did I just say? I would hate for someone to overhear you. My reputation would never recover!” Hero gasps in mock offense. “I’ll have you know I am a great person to be friends with!”

“Why would I, the villain, want to be friends with a goody two shoes like you? You, someone who can’t even jay-walk without feeling guilty!”

“I can jay-walk! I just never see the need to.” Villain looks at Hero disbelieving. “Hero, you're the type of person who can’t leave a store without buying something because you’d feel guilty if you didn’t!” 

Hero sputters for a moment “Y-Yeah, well only a friend would know that about me!”  

“I don’t need to be your friend to know that. Your whole persona screams ‘desperate people pleaser!’ 

“It does not!” 

“It does. Don’t even try to deny it.”

“Careful, I might just drop you into the nearest lake.” Hero threatens. 

“Sure, whatever you say. Now walk faster will you? The new season of ‘Delish Us’ premiers tonight and I want to get there in time to actually watch it.”

Hero sighs but picks up the pace anyway. Villain smirks. “People pleaser.”

"I'll just get back up!"

Vern shouted indignantly, scowl plastered on his face. He glared at Marc from where he lay, against his will mind you, on the bed and fought the urge to stick his tongue out. That would be a little too childish, even for him.

"You will do no such thing." Marc said, raising his eyebrow in the doorway, food tray in hand. "You will stay lying down and actually recover like you should have done last week. Your leg needs to heal. We're not having a conversation about this, Vern." Marc waltzed into the room with a peacefulness to rival Vern's burning agitation.

Why couldn't he understand that Vern just needed to move?

Marc walked over to the bedside table and dropped the tray onto it.

"Eat this and then go to sleep." Marc's eyes locked with purpose onto his own. "Lord knows you need to recover."

Vern scowled. "I'm not even that hurt! You're overexaggerating!"

"You are, in fact, the king overexaggerater in this apartment, Vern," Marc said rolling his eyes, "but it doesn't matter because you're going to listen to me," He narrowed his eyes, "eat your food, and stay in bed".

Vern averted his eyes obstinately. Marc huffed lightly and began walking away.

A tsk left Vern's lips. "You can't control me," He muttered under his breath, a puff of mischief present.

He pulled off the blankets and started to stand up-

"Vern Allen Haynes."

Vern jumped.

"Get back in bed, now."

He could feel Marc staring at him from the doorway. An unnamed jolt swept through him and he felt shame growing. He looked up and saw Marc's face and the sternness pervading through it. Vern winced involuntarily.

But he couldn't stop the onslaught of thoughts suddenly surging through his head.

Oh my gosh he just full-named me like my parent he actually just did that am I like his kid now? Does he think of me like that AAAAH-

A blush started creeping it's way up his face and he lowered his gaze in an attempt to hide it. Still, Marc hadn't let up with the hard look and he felt thoroughly chided.

He sputtered, trying to salvage his image. "I-I'm not gonna just-"

Marc shot him a glare.

Vern flushed violently. He was acting like Vern's dad.

Marc came over and freaking manhandled Vern back onto the bed, careful of his hurt leg, and Vern let him while he crossed his arms, trying to keep some semblance of defiance about him. The furious blush on his face over the fact that that interaction had just happened didn't really assist with his goal.

Once he was resituated on the bed Marc took a step back to mark him with with one last look to say stay. Though this time he couldn't quite keep up the front and Vern could tell he was holding back a smile.

"Eat the food and sleep, kiddo." Was the last thing Marc said to him, while smoothing his hair in a way that made Vern want to implode with screams because it was way too nonchalant, before walking out.

Vern let out an indignant sniffle.

"Fine."

He picked up the bowl.

Marc smirked.

Summerhal was beautiful at this hour. those fleeting moments before midday and after the morning when the sun was well off to reaching its zenith made even the hardest of hearts gaze in awe.

Alva descended from her horse, vermillion. To her left by a relatively small pond were the horses of Lord Rhaemion Targaryen of Starfall, the princess Elia’s dear longtime friend (and rumored paramour, he too a close and beloved friend of the prince as well, the nature of things was a topic for another morn). And the other of her dearest Prince Rhaegar Targaryen.

She recalls when Rhaemion spoke of reason for choosing his horse. The almost pearlescent mane of his chosen mount reminded him of the scales of his dragon, Parthunaax known by the histories as the Burned Overlord. The Targaryens of Starfall or the Amethyst or Dawn Dragons still possessed the ones belonging to the riders they were bound to during and following the dance. Baelor and Parthunaax, Calla and Nahvintaas (a ilmestian dragon of Vilemyr), and Valaerra who was Rhaemion’s ancestor and her she-dragon Numinex. Though the most notable among them was the Ethereal, the Violet Star of Starfall herself once bound to the mistress of mists Iovanna Dayne, Starspire. The two year old daughter of Rhaemion recently began to speak her first words and has declared her favorite word to be the name of the ethereal. If this is any prediction that the girl at two has already declared her mount will not be a horse, but Starspire herself, one cannot fathom anything else. She laughed when he mentioned he will have to tell the girl when she’s older that the dragons are not to be flown in westeros and she will have to have a horse as he does. Lest the Dragon of myth and prophecy see her end by scorpion bolt.

On leaving vermillion by Rhaemion and Rhaegar’s. She makes her way by the remnants of the stone walkway closer towards the ruin. The three spent a lot of time in summerhall, her and Rhaegar spending the most.
