A commissioned piece from the amazing and wonderful @corinthianrm0!!! I love it so so much, the lighting is just stunning!!! 😭💖
Go check out their page!!! Their commissions are closed at the moment but when they open back up I definitely recommend them! 😁
If this looks familiar it's because it's something they actually drew a while ago that I just desperately needed to see colored.

Man, Invitation To Wine is, much like certain parts of Who Is Real?, very Wuxia, but way WAY more Wuxia.
Ok, first of all, I need to explain a little something: Wuxia and telenovelas are literally the same thing, except latinos like love triangles and figuring out who the baby’s true father is more than sick kung fu, which, as a latino myself, I’ll take the L for, I think China’s on the right here, hence why I watched Wuxia practically every day when I was a teen. But essentially, if you put aside that specific difference, Wuxia and telenovelas are the same damn thing: “We have underlying drama, everyone’s connected, and there’s twist after twist”.
And Invitation To Wine is quite damn literally that and I love it. The synopsis to it has you thinking “oh boy, Ling is gonna do some crazy shit...!” but then the event is Mr. Lee coming across like three different Wuxia movies, concluding in him being dragged in the middle of a deathmatch involving a retired swordsman and a pole-fighter consumed by revenge, Mr. Nothing (a Wuxia protag from another story altogether) practically getting in a fistfight with an earth-bending cop, and Miss Du trying to make her dad (the retired swordsman) fail at a job, but only a little, ALL the while the lord of the area, a taciturn man and good friend of Mr. Lee, courts another high-ranking court member in the most ancient of manners as they flirt with all the enthusiasm of teen with a Red Bull addiction yet all the initiative of a bear hibernating, so they sit there, smoldering in the most polite sexual tension possible, ALL THE WHILE Miss Ning, the high-ranking official, realizes something is up so she hires an Australian bounty hunter to steal from him to help him, which is as Wuxia as it fucking gets (sans the Australian bit, they hire Korean mercs instead). It gets SO WUXIA at one point that Dusk steps in and just puts them in timeout for like five days (painting time) because she’s more of a telenovela person I guess.
Mr. Lee was supposed to deliver one damn cup and instead ends up in the middle of a Venn Diagram of three different Wuxias, and the moment he gets SOME breathing space thanks to Dusk’s Spell Of Stop Fucking Fighting, the damn cup turns out to be cursed and takes over his body, but ONLY in the dream realm, and then they play Go (known as Weiqi in China), and Lee fucking sucks at it, and loses so bad he wins, so the evil god in the cup loses, and when he comes back to the realm of the living, the Wuxia (triple) sort of resolved itself, but THEN the super evil dragon god awakens, but not really, so they beat it, but not really, and then Ling is like “hey what’s up man” and Nian is like “hey man we gotta do something about that” and Ling is like “really?” and Nian is like “yeah” and Ling is like “fuck, man, you make a great point, let’s do this shit” and THEN some old dude shows up and he’s the Oldest and Dudest so the sisters actually listen to him, and what does he have to say? “Nian, I need a civil engineer so work I’m gonna commission you” and she’s like “shit alright man” oh btw he casually mentions there’s some dude that’s 738 years old fighting superdemons in the north of Yan? But that’s irrelevant, anyways, Nian is a civil engineer now.
So in the end, Mr. Lee, like Luigi, wins by doing nothing (the action, not the dude). He didn’t even fight once. He’s one of the damn 6 stars in the banners! We know he’s got hands! And he was involved in three Wuxias and one god-possession at the same time and didn’t even show off a single move! What a legend.
What I’m trying to say is that Invitation To Wine is the golden standard of writing.

Into the GuyLoboVerse: Day 14
Earth 13: League of Shadows
In the permanent magical twilight of EARTH 13, GUY GARDNER has become the MAGE STARHEART. With his eye replaced with part of the glowing meteor passed down in his order through the centuries, GUY GARDNER recklessly summoned LOBO, the DEMON of CZARNIA, to aid him when asked to assist FATE with some LEAGUE of SHADOWS business. Now he must live with the consequences.
Authors Notes:
Its been a while since I read the Earth 13 stuff but I always thought it was neat! (The fact that this is a world where Jared Stevens is alive as Fate definitely helps even if he isn't a focus haha). The designs here I just played around with in MS Paint until I got something that I thought fit the aesthetic of a magic world. Even if Constantine is walking around in a typical hero suit.
Lore-wise I always thought it would be interesting if Green Lantern stuff got flipped so that the magical Starheart that Alan Scott uses in main continuity was the standard instead of the exception for Earth 13 Green Lantern equivalents. Though it looks like they just decided to use a version of Hal as Spectre as Green Lantern in the background of one of the scenes a while ago.
The Guardians of Oa would send a meteor of concentrated magic to planets that they wanted to have a point of control on and the dominant sentient lifeforms would general adapt that meteor and its magic into their culture somehow. (Usually. There would always be exceptions). Since Earth has such a rich concentration of magic existing on it already, Earth gets a larger meteor so that its magic can be wielded by multiple people, creating the Order of the Starheart.
The Order of the Starheart has been around for centuries. A new mage is accepted when they are drawn to the Starheart and the Starheart accepts them (usually manifesting by an intense pull to wherever the Starheart is currently being kept and then an intense glowing from the Starheart). The new mage then chips of a part of the meteor and that gets embedded in their body and becomes part of their magical power. Usually The Order of the Starheart recovers the piece of the meteor when a mage dies but that is not always possible which can result in someone becoming a member of The Order without their knowledge.
I'm on the fence about whether or not Guy is one of these accidental members but either way eventually he makes his way to a position of respect (for his power if nothing else) in The Order. Guy also comes by way of magic via his alien heritage that, while diluted, gives him a much bigger aptitude for magic than the average homo sapien but not quite at the levels standard for homo magi.
This Lobo is more of a direct Etrigan parallel and would probably end up clashing with Superdemon either as teammates, allies, or enemies. He's pretty standard for Lobo's but just with more of a monstery look than a biker look. He also makes a red aura around him when he fights. Instead of traveling through space of his own accord, legends of the Demon of Czarnia have spread throughout the galaxy and with that methods of summoning him to do your bidding. However it is well known that this is a double edged sword because there is no banishment spell that works on him. He will stay until he is summoned somewhere else or he acquires a means of leaving your planet on his own. But usually he hangs around until he gets bored instead of actively finding a way off your rock. Past summoners of Lobo have generally found themselves held responsible for his behavior and end up being pariahs.

Here you go, we have fixed the ending of DCeased for you.
[Batman (Damian Wayne) manages to pull off a deus ex machina (that I will not elaborate on) that allows him to save the day and live. He makes it back home to his BFF Superman (Jon Kent) and his friend immediately begins checking him for damage. They embrace platonically.] /j

I had to reject the prompt for day one of @super-sons-week-2023 and do Talia Kane and Laurel Kent as a Yuri manga cover! I guess it is still firsts because it's their first issue? Lol. The version without the title is under the cut!

After The Dark Crisis Event This Is The New DC Multiverse
Tumblr media
Another Crisis has come and gone, and the DCU is altered because of it. The events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths remade DC's infinite multiverse concept, sending out ripples across realities and causing disturbances all along the Divine Continuum. Fortunately, Crisis vet Barry Allen is here to make sure all is well, and he’s bringing two DC vets along to help. This week DC Comics will publish Dark Crisis: Big Bang, a new one-shot derived from the Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths event in the hand with a script by Mark Waid and drawings by Dan Jurgens with Norm Rapmund, will try to paint the panorama of the new DC Multiverse. As you will remember in Dark Crisis, the Multiverse was recovered after the Omniverse was the reigning concept after the end of Dark Nights: Death Metal. In this sense, with a frame that deals with the search for the Anti-Monitor by Barry Allen / The Flash, Dark Crisis: Big Bang will show us how the new DC Comics Multiverse was after the fight with Pariah. Dark Crisis is the third act of a larger story that Williamson's been building since DC relaunched its entire superhero line in the wake of the conclusion of 2020’s Dark Nights: Death Metal. In the closing pages of that series (by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo) the fictional DC Universe was restored to a condition it hadn’t enjoyed since the mid-'198'0s, as the multiverse was once again recreated, with all continuity published by the company restored in some form or another to canon.

Barry Allen details all the Earths he has found so far and they include everything from worlds based on old comics to Earth 33, which would be our world. Below you can see the list that includes some of the comics that show those Lands: - Earth 0 - Described by Barry Allen as his Earth and home of the Justice League, it is apparently the main universe of the current DC Comics continuity - Earth 1 - This would be the Earth from titles like Superman: Earth One and is described as a world with young variants of the Justice League that are just beginning to operate as heroes. - Earth 2 - The world of the Justice Society. The reference material cited is The New 52 - Earth 3 - This is the Earth of the Crime Syndicate. - Earth 4 - Described by the Flash as a world with variants of the Question, Blue Beetle, and Captain Atom. The reference comic is Multiverse: Paxamericana. - Earth 5 - Here are the Shazam Family variants as in Multiversity: Thunderworld Adventures. - Earth 6 - This is the world with the Justice League variants of Earth 0 that correspond to the version of the DC Universe that Stan Lee (Spider-Man, Fantastic Four) devised in Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating the DC Universe . - Earth 7 - This was Thunderer's Earth, but it was destroyed. Reference comic Multiversity #1. - Earth 8 - The world known as Angor is identified as the home of The Retaliators (characters based on the Avengers from Marvel Comics) - Earth 9- The world of The Tangent Heroes, the characters from DC's Tangent Comics (1997) label. - Earth 10 - The home of The Freedom Fighters - Earth 11 – The world where variants that are of opposite genders to the heroes and villains of Earth 0 inhabit. - Earth 12 - This is the futuristic Earth from Batman Beyond. - Earth 13 - Barry Allen describes this world as an Earth based more on magic than science. It is the home of Superdemon. - Earth 14 - The home of the defunct Justice League assassins seen in Superman #15 (2017). - Earth 15 - Here is The Cosmic Grail - Earth 16 - The home of the famous sideckicks known as The Just (seen in Multiversity The Just) - Earth 17- A world destroyed by nuclear war in 1986. It is the home of The Atomic Knights. - Earth 18 - The fall of The Justice Riders, a frozen world in the Old West. - Earth 19 - The world of Gotham by Gaslight, described by Barry Allen as the world of "steampunk" heroes. - Earth 20 - Home of The Society of Super-Heroes and their pulp magazine-style adventures. - Earth 21 - The world of JLA: The New Frontier, where the Justice League was created during the space race. - Earth 22- This is the Earth from Kingdom Come. - Earth 23- The Earth of Calvin Ellis, President Superman. - Earth 24 - The world of DC Comics: Bombshells with heroines fighting in World War II. - Earth 25- This is where Tom Strong and his friends live - Earth 26 - The World of The Zoo Crew - Earth 27- A world where the Justice League exists but its members are dinosaurs (seen in Jurassic League ) - Earth 28- A world where heroes fight using mechanized suits (seen in DC Mech ) - Earth 29- The Bizarroverse - Earth 30 - Superman's World: Red Son - Earth 31 - This is the home of Leatherwing and the pirate heroes from Detective Comics Annual #7 (1994) - Earth 32 - Defined by Flash as a world with "random combinations of the heroes of Earth 0". The comic cited as a reference is Batman: In Darkest Knight, the 1994 comic where Bruce Wayne becomes Green Lantern. - Earth 33 - Apparently this is our world, where you are reading this note and attentive to what will happen with Dark Crisis because Earth 33 is "the world where superheroes are fictional characters." Flash #179 (1968) is cited as a reference. - Earth 34 - The world of The Light Brigade. - Earth 35 - The world of The Super Americans. - Earth 36-This is where Optiman and his friends live. - Earth 37 - "A dark world of rapid technological advances" as in Batman: Thrillkiller (1997). - Earth 38 - This is the Earth from Superman & Batman: Generations, featuring multi-generational and older versions of the Earth 0 heroes. - Earth 39 - The world of Agents of Wonder. - Earth 40 - The Earth of the evil versions of The Society of Super-Heroes (from Earth 20). - Earth 41 - Here live Spore, Dino-Cop and Nightcracker. - Earth 42 - "Chibi" versions of the Earth 0 characters. - Earth 43 - Vampire versions of the Justice League as in Batman & Dracula: Red Rain (1991). - Earth 44 - Robotic versions of the Justice League. - Earth 45 - The world of the artificers of Superdoomsday. - Earth 46 - Described as home to "a young Batman with a unique and unrecognizable rogues' gallery).
