Sutra - Chapter 9, part 1

A/N: Hey there guys! How's summer going for you all? It's winter now where I live but as every tropical country, the weather feels like summer. As you saw, it will be a two part chapter and I tryly hope you enjoy.

Summary: Reader giving her ballet classes when Steve comes around and leaves a bunch of kids amused. A good friend comes to visit.

Warning: Kids being kids, Steve and his romantic chivalry acts, Steve's POV at the end.

Three months later

"Good afternoon, kids!" I greeted my ballet alumni with a smile.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Wilson!" they said in unison and with enthusiasm.

One of the nicest things about teaching kids? They're always excited, at least when they were having classes with me.

One of the greatest things of teaching alongside Anne is that I put her mind on opening ballet classes for every kid, so we'd be more inclusive, and one of the few dancing schools that teach ballet for either boys and girls in New York.

Every year, we open a scholarship program to child and teenager who want a opportunity to study dance. Commonly, those kids are either very gifted or live in poor districts - or both, which happens to be in most part of the cases.

"How did your weekend go?" I asked them. I heard them answer how good or not so good their weekend was.

"I went to see my grandma." Luce answered.

"Oh, and how is she?" I asked, showing genuine interest. I believe that being interested in your alumni's life makes them more interested about whay you have to say and teach. So I always knew a little of each life.

"She is good." She answered. "And sent you best wishes for your wedding, Ms. Wilson."

It didn't hurt me anymore when people talked about my wedding. But I must confess I felt a pang inside my chest when I heard Luce talk about that. I sighed.

"Everybody grab the mats and let's warm up." I said and changed subjects, then I looked at Luce. "Tell your grandma I said thank you."

We began doing the exercises. I made it as fun as I could and if it made my kids happy, it made me happy. I'd work their flexibility, their memorization capacities and their posture. Mothers and fathers already told me that the ballet classes not only made kids have some interest on physical activity, but also improved their social skills, empathy being one of them.

Also, Anne and I decided to hire a psychologist who already worked with counseling in schools at Harlem, so kids would go at her whenever their parents talk to us about their need to figure out the kids' inner issues.

"Okay, guys" I said after our last exercise. "Put your mats on their places and let's go to the barre."

While the kids got up and did as they were told, Trevor got up and got paralyzed out of blue.

"Trevor?" I asked while crouching next to him. "Are you okay, sweetheart?"

"Is he who I think he is?" He asked out of sudden and I looked back to see Steve Rogers wearing beige jeans, shoes and one of his infamous tight fit t-shirts.

And holding the craziest in a good way thing on his hands: a sunflower and red roses bouquet.

"Prince Charming?" Zoe asked and her hazel eyes would shine to the view.

"No!" Leo said. "This is Captain America, Zo!"

"He looks like Prince Charming to me!" Zoe said and I left out a laugh as I got up.

"Hey." I greeted Steve who wore a smirk on his handsome face.

"Hey." He greeted back and handed me the beautiful bouquet. "So, I... I bought these to you."

"Thank you so much." I smiled. "They're the prettiest!"

"I was thinking of you when I bought them." He said while I admired the beautiful and good smelling flowers.

"Oh, so now you're a sweet talker, Steven?" I asked him.

"Only if I get to amaze you." He answered back with a wink, making me smile.

"Smooth." I said. "Let me put these by the piano, I got a class to teach."

"Can I watch you?" He asked me. "I will behave, I promise."

"Take a chair by the door and suit yourself." I answered and Steve did what I told him, but in a literal way - he actually got one of the chairs for the kids' parents and put it next to the bars, where I'd lead the practice.

"Okay" I said and focused on the kids. "Everyone taking your places at the bars."

"Is Captain America going to watch us?" Trevor asked.

"I think so." I answered him.

"Is he your fiancee?" Luce asked out of sudden. Her question had effect in me and probably in Steve, too.

"But..." Zoe began. "You look like a fairytale!"

"And he gave you flowers!" Leo pointed and Steve left a laugh, which made me laugh, too.

"To the barre, you guys!" I said.

Steve's POV

"Is he your fiancee?" one of the little girls in Ms. Wilson's class asked out of sudden. Her question got her surprised and I admit, it got me surprised as well.

It made me wonder what being married to Y/N would look like - we'd possibly live one of the many big houses in New York. Maybe we'd have a dog, or a cat, but we'd make some pretty babies.

And as I looked at Y/NN's body, I'd imagine her carrying our children, and taking care of our kids. She's good with kids, I thought. She'll be a great mother.

"He's a friend, Luce." Y/N answered her alumni.

"But..." The little girl who called me 'Prince Charming' began. "You look like a fairytale!"

"And he gave you flowers!" A boy (did boys have ballet classes these days?) pointed and I couldn't help but laugh, which made Y/N laugh, too.

"To the barre, you guys!" She said and the kids obeyed her.

A slow instrumental song began, and Y/N would teach the movements to the kids. And it all started with the pliés and arms positions - it looked real simple.

But it actually wasn't.

"Bras bas." Y/N would command and the kids would do what they were told as she walked and made the needed adjustments. "Arms in first position, second, thir... Anne, keep your back straight, second, third... Trevor, right arm up, third, fourth, fifth and back to the bras bas... let's go again."

The kids repeated the movements a few times before Y/N began to teach them basic ballet steps.

"Okay, so, out first move today will be pas de bourré." the kids and I watched her explanation with attention and she'd speak while dancing to the rhythm of the song. "Pas de bourré to the right, pas de bourré to the left... everybody doing it with me."

The kids would do the movement and it was really cute to see them trying. While the kids did the movement, she came to the back, so she would watch and correct their steps. Y/N had focus and discipline when it comes to her children.

"Luce, don't forget: straight back." She pointed to the little girl and corrected her back delicately. "Trevor, don't do it fast! Do it to the rhythm of the song, with grace."

Y/N was passing by and I left out a laugh of how serious and severe she looked, with her teaching manners and hair in a ballerina bun. She looked at me and her serious demeanor went away with a tiny smile.

"Don't laugh." She said.

"I'm not." I answered and she continued giving her class.

"Bye Ms. Wilson!" the little girl who I learned that called Luce said.

"Bye, Luce." I waver her goodbye with a smile and she put her tongue out. My polite smile faded.

"Bye, sweetie." Y/N said her goodbye and she smiled as if she was the sweetest child.

"Did you see that?" I asked and she laughed.

"Luce has a difficult personality." She answered my question. "Difficult but fun."

"You know what would be fun right now?" I asked her while getting up from the chair.

"What?" She asked and came at me. My arms encircled her waist.

"A kiss." I answered and kissed her lips. "And something to eat, because I'm hungry."

"Oh, yeah?" She answered and kissed me back, sweetly.

"Yeah." I answered on her lips and she smiled on mine. I was about to kiss her back, but someone cleaned their throat, interrupting us.

We looked towards the sound to see a tall, muscular and black man wearing jeans and a grey shirt.

"Do I interrupt?" He asked, with a laugh. His voice was thick.

"Well, if it isn't Luke Cage." Y/N said and went to greet him.

Can you do a avengers x reader where the reader voiced a bunch of cartoon characters and the avengers don't know. So one day, they are playing a game together which is you get a card and it says any cartoon characters name and they have to a impersonation of that character and the avengers have to guess and when reader gets a charachter that she voiced and avengers are comfused why she sounds so much like the character? P.s. she's an avenger

“Okay, okay… my turn.” Wanda happily chimed as she already stretched out her hand to grab the next card.

She coughed before she stood up confidently, starting to swiftly dance around the room and sing.

“Let it go, let it go, can’t hold it back any more-“ she nearly tripped on the chair behind her, nevertheless continuing to sing completely off tune, yet still at the top of her lungs “-let it go, let it go, turn away and slam the door. Here I stand and here I stay. Let the storm rage on. Cold never bothered me anyway.” She finished her performance by swinging her hand just like Elsa did in the movie.

You and the entire team started applauding her. »What an astounding performance Ms. Maximoff« Tony joked.

»Thank you, I live to entertain.« Wanda grinned and bowed mockingly.

You were playing a game where you picked a card with one of the famous Disney character’s name on it and you had to impersonate that character. Whoever made the best impression, got to choose one of the other’s most prized possession and keep them for one day.

»Who wants to try next?« Nat claped her hands giddily, excitment clear in her voice.

»I’ll go!« Sam snickered before he started his impersonating. He leaned back, standing in what seemed to be the most unstable position one could master then started talking as if he had had at least five bottles of rum that day.

»Crazy people don’t know the’re crazy. I know I’m crazy therefore I’m not crazy. Isnt that crazy?« He slurred his words as much as he could, waving his hands frantically in the air.

The entire room burst out laughing, clapping and whistling while Sam stil continued on with the show. »Did everyone see that? ‘Cause I will not be doing it again.« After finishing that line, he too, took a bow and laughed along.

»A striking act of Jack Sparrow indeed.« Tony continued to narrate.

»Captain Jack Sparrow.« The entire team shouted at once.

»I want to go next.« Rhodey cleared his throat before doing his impersonation of Donald Duck. He was surprisingly good at it too.

Then next went Scott, impersonating Minnie Mouse.

»You know, it’s scary how your voice can reach such high octaves you know?« Bucky teased.

»Hey, sometimes having to entertain your daughter while being on house arrest can be challanging, you have no idea to what extents I had to go, learning how to talk like somebody’s squeezing my balls just so I could do the princesses’ voices when reading a story isn’t even half of it, but hey, it comes in handy at moments like this.« He chuckled.

»Okay Y/n, wanna go next?« Steve asked, seeing as it was only the two of you left, who hadn’t ˝performed˝yet.

»Sure.« You smiled, pulling the card off the deck. This one was going to be easy, you had done it a hundred times before. You cleared your throat and took a deep breath in before words just naturally rolled off your tongue.

»I gave my mum a cake, she turned into a big bear, my own dad tried to do her in, if that’s not pure mess i don’t know what is!« You finished off by plopping dramatically back into your seat on the sofa. However, there was no applause or whistles after that, only a bunch of shocked faces and wide open mouths.

»How… how did you do that?« Wanda asked, a curious tone coloring her words.

»Do what?« You asked, your voice now shy from feeling all the stares on you.

»The… the voice, the Scottish accent, all of it!?« It was now Scott who spoke, his surprise still written all over his face.

“Yeah, this was way to real.” Bucky added.

»Well… I… I used to voice cartoon characters before I became an Avenger.« You explained, a nervous sigh escaping your lungs.

»You what?« Sam, Bucky and Nat all spoke at once.

»Who else beside Merida did you do?« Rhodey questioned.

»Well let’s see…« you had to think for a moment, since it was quite a while ago »I did Ana from Frozen, Tinker Bell, Princess Jasmine, Rapunzel and…«

You were about to continue, before Nat interrupted you.

»Wait… you voiced Rapunzel?« She asked, exhilarated.

»That’s like, my favourite Disney movie ever!«

»Oh really? It was one of my favorite I voiced in.« You smiled at how enthusiastic she seemed to be.

»Alright guys, give her a moment to breathe.« Tony said, stepping towards you and outstretching his hand.

He coughed before swiftly lifting you back into a standing position.

»Ladys and gentleman, I believe, although our initial response might not have shown that, we have a winner!« He lifted your hand up, while everybody around started cheering.

»Hey, what about me? I didn’t even get my turn!« Steve pouted.

»You really think you can compete against that?« Bucky raised his eyebrow in amusment.

»You’re probably right.« He laughed, turning to you. »So.. Y/n, the big question remains, who’s the unlucky victim that will have to give up the thing they hold most dear to their heart for the entire day?«

You looked around the room, thinking about what would be most fun to use for a day.

Steve’s shield? Useful but boring. Nat’s guns? Meh, maybe some other time.Tony’s suit? Tempting.

Finally, it hit you.

»I want Scott’s suit.« You outed after a few seconds of consideration.

»What? Y/n! I thought we were friends.« Scott cluched his chest, acting broken-hearted.

You just snorted in response. »Hey it’s for a higher purpose.«You smirked, mischief seeping from your eyes.

»That being…?« Scott awaited an explanation.

»Getting back at my Maths techer from high school.« You simply said, shrugging your soulders.

»And that counts as higher purpose?« Tony raised his brow bemusedly.

»Well naturally, I will spare all the future generations of kids from having to listen to her and dealing with her inability to teach and that to me is a higher purpose.« You smiled cheekily.

»What are you gonna do? Crawl up her ass and then expand?« Sam joined in on the conversation.

»No, I was actually only thinking about getting an army of ants to her house, seeing as she hates them so much, but now that you’ve mentioned it…«

»Y/n no!« Scott almost stuttered, now semingly genuinely concerned aout his suit.

»Catch me if you can!« You yelled, already sprinting to his room, hearing how Tony shouted after you.

»Don’t let him get you Y/n, avenge the children!«

Summary: You were a trained assassin, used by HYDRA to train their “soldiers”. One of these soldiers being Bucky Barnes or as you knew him “The Winter Soldier”. Now many years and memory wipes later the two of you meet again. Will you remember what happened all those years ago?

Authors note: This chapter will include flashbacks, I’m doing my best to make clear when it’s a flashback and when it’s not. Also this chapter is to give more background, it doesn’t include a lot of Bucky but in the long haul it’ll really help with setting their history. I hope y’all understand!

Chapter: 6; Why can’t the past just be the past

Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath. Swallowing down the thick lump in your throat as tears slowly began forming behind your lids. This was going to be a hard story to tell, especially because you weren’t sure it was over. You sure hoped it was…

“Here we go”

“Present yourself”, A man, with a strong German accent, told you.

You took a step forward, your arms behind your back. You stood straight, good posture was important after all. “Y/N Y/L/N, Alias; Backlash, Age 16, Trained assassin, Sir.” On the outside you exuded confidence, but in your mind you were terrified. Working for HYDRA was your first ‘official’ mission and you weren’t going to fail. You weren’t allowed to fail.

The man held out his hand “I am Doctor Stein, one of the many scientist working here at HYDRA” You just nodded, following the man through the building, until eventually you stopped in front of a metal door. All the doors here seemed to be metal, the only thing that made this one different from the rest is that this one said ‘Backlash’ on the nameplate. “This is where you will be residing” The doctor said, pulling a key out of his white coat. You were given the key and the man left.

You quickly made your way into the room. The room was empty, the only things in it were a bed and a bag filled with you belongings. There was one window, with a windowsill large enough for you to sit in. Which you had a crazy feeling you’d be doing a lot.

After exploring the room, for as far as there was anything to explore, you decided to change clothing and explore the base. It would be your home for at least the next 6 months and well one has to know there home, am I right? You changed into a simple black tank and some green pants, similar to the ones soldiers wear. It was an outfit you felt comfortable in, it helped you blend in. At least it used to help you blend in. With your hair now up in a ponytail, you decided it was time to go out exploring.

The second you walked out of the room you had a whole bunch of eyes on you, you took a deep breath and kept walking. You weren’t going to let a bunch of sex deprived nerds keep you from doing what you wanted. While making your way through the compound you heard a lot of screaming. You knew all about HYDRA’s reputation of experimenting on humans, but you had hoped this would be done somewhere far, far away from you. You hated hearing these people scream, you really did. But you also knew that if you had to you could make people scream like that, make them feel pain like they’ve never truly felt pain before. You wouldn’t feel guilty about it, not even for a second. God you would kill anyone in a heartbeat. The only thing they’d have to do is give you the order.

“You would kill anyone? People would just have to tell you to?” Peter asked, you could see the visible shock on his face.

You nodded, “Without a doubt”. You wished you could say something else, something better, but it was the truth, you would have. The way the young boy looked at you made your stomach twist. You had been raised to think this was normal. Deep down you knew it wasn’t okay, but you could deal with that. Now seeing this kid look at you with utter and complete fear in his eyes, it honestly made you feel awful. You looked at the boy once more. “It’s the truth, back then I would have. Now I’m not so sure, I don’t believe blindly following orders was ever a smart move. Don’t do that it doesn’t work out positively, it’s a real uhm mess. I mean look at me” Your rambled, doing your best not to swear.

“I can confirm that” Bucky mumbled, “HYDRA’s orders can really fuck a person up”

“You worked for HYDRA?” You asked, your mouth falling open from shock.

“Work” The man spat, “If you call being brainwashed and forced, working then yes I worked for HYDRA”

You were staring into Bucky’s eyes, you hadn’t seen in before, but this man carries so much pain with him, so much guilt. A feeling of familiarity came over you, as if you had looked into these guilt filled eyes before. You wanted to ask him if you had met before, but Steve interrupted you.

“Buck, I think you might need to go get some air, I’ll go with you” The tall blonde stood up, waiting for his friend to do the same, making their way out of the room.

“Well now you know Bucky worked for HYDRA, which is great” Natasha said, “But I’d like to know more about you working for HYDRA.”

You had totally zoned out after watching the men leave, trying to place Bucky in your memories. Whatever small amount you had left.

“Y/N”

“Oh yeah, yeah I’ll continue”

“Backlash” You rolled your eyes, you had been working with HYDRA for months now and they still refused to call you by your name. “It’s Y/N, but yes Nicolas, what do you need?” You said turning around to face the young soldier, you had been training him for weeks now and to be honest he was awful. He wouldn’t last a second in the field, but he was brave. God, he might even have a good heart, so you didn’t understand what he was doing with a criminal organization like HYDRA. You wanted to tell him he was wrong for working for them, but every time you looked into his chocolate brown eyes, you just melted. There was no way you could break this guy’s faith in HYDRA.

It was like your heart stopped beating for a second when the words came out of his mouth. “They’re sending me out in the field, Y/N. They finally think I’m ready!” The boy seemed so exited to be out in the field, but quit frankly all you felt was sadness. You had just told the HYDRA officers that there was no way in hell Nicolas was ready to get into the field yet. You grabbed the boy and pulled him into a tight hug, ruffling his curly brown hair with your hand. “That’s great news buddy” was all you could say, your eyes filled with tears, you knew better then to get attached but your heart had been smarter then you brain. You didn’t even really know you cared for him until you knew it was to late.

That was the last time you had seen him. Months went by and it was like nothing ever happened, like he never existed. After a while you had forgotten about him completely. You had moved on, training more people for HYDRA, helping the organization grow.

Many more boys, men, like Nicolas came around, but it didn’t affect you. It’s not like you didn’t want to care, it’s like you had just lost the ability to do so.

“HYDRA freaking brainwashed me into not caring anymore” You gasped at the realization. It’s like slowly the puzzle was coming together. Pietro’s hand rested on your shoulder, but you didn’t notice. You saw little flickers of a brightly lit room in front of your eyes.

“Why would you send Hefner out there, I told you he wasn’t ready” You were fuming, yelling at your superior wasn’t something you would ever do, but for Nicolas you’d gladly make an exception.

Doctor Stein, your superior or as you called him ‘the devil in a white coat’ scoffed, “You think your opinion matters, at all?” You were stunned, did he really just say your opinion didn’t matter, then why on earth did they want weekly reports on every single person trained??

“You guys are awful, just sending a soldier out there to get killed” You spat, “You are literally killing people all the damn time and why? To create some perfect little white person?” A hand struck you across your face. “If I were you I’d close my mind, young lady’’ The man said, “They assured me you’d be good at taking orders without questions, yet here you are questioning”

You rolled your eyes, “Yet here I am”

Undercover ~ Part 2

HI everyone! I’m sorry that it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything but I’m hoping that changes this week. Also, I know that this is a short chapter but i wanted to get it done so I can move on with the main part of the story...

As you strolled through the MI6 corridors, you had your tea mug clasped tightly in your hands to warm them as you had come in from the cold winter air. Taking a sip, you used your butt to open the door to Agent Ford’s office.

“No, Agent Miller, it is unnecessary for you to participate in the Kabul mission and you most definitely do not have the clearance for the current high-priority mission.”

Agent Savannah Miller, a girl who was a couple years older than you with long straight black hair and sun-tanned skin stood rigid in front of Ford’s desk. Agent Alexander Ford, however, looked ready for the floor to swallow him whole as the young agent persisted in telling him about her ‘capabilities’.

“Hey Agent Ford, who now happens to be a single father with a daughter who’s an upcoming actress in the MCU, it’s lovely to see you.”

Savannah turned to glare at you. “Can’t you see you’re interrupting something?!”

You furrowed your brows. “If by something you mean you being rejected by Agent Ford for present and upcoming missions based on your clearance because you don’t qualify for the next level, you should totally be grateful for me turning up and giving you an excuse to stop embarrassing yourself.” You smiled sweetly.

She snorted and rolled her eyes. “Oh please, as if you weren’t going to do the same thing. And becoming an actress? You’re going to be burned.”

Flopping onto an armchair, you flung your feet onto the desk. “Oh you mean completing a mission assigned by the board which includes going undercover as an actress in the biggest film franchise as a part of the Beynin mission? Of course, I’m definitely here to grovel.”

The agent curled her fists tightly before rushing out the room with her file and slamming the door behind her.

Agent Ford looked down his nose at you from where he stood at his bookcase. “Was that necessary, L/N?”

You beamed. “Absolutely.”

He chuckled and shook his head. You had known Savannah Miller since you had joined in the same year and had gone through the training courses with her but she had always been overly competitive, despite the fact you were always one stage above her. Since then, it had been as if you were arch enemies and you always took great joy in annoying her in anyway possible, mostly just because it was funny for you to see her so wound up. Besides, if any agent was ever specifically given a mission by the board it was a big deal; they were like gods because they were never seen and you only got told things either about them or what they had said.

“Debrief now, L/N.” Agent Ford ordered, as he adjusted himself in the seat.

“The audition went great, I’d say considering the comments they said once I was out of ear-shot almost guarantee that I got the role. Sebastian Stan likes me because I speak Romanian, the directors liked me because of my unique skill set. They were all clean as well from what I was able to get.” You were blunt and to the point. “Oh yeah, and thanks for the suite by the way, it was definitely appreciated.”

Ford looked up at you from his files“That was a decision of the board, I only agreed.”

“I suppose they’re trying to kiss up to me since they’re burning me.” You sighed and lent back in your chair, head tilted back.

“I am also concerned about this issue; it is unlike them to burn agents of your stature.”

You looked weirdly at him. “You mean they normally burn agents?”

Answered by a look, you simply sighed again and took a long, satisfying, sip of your tea as you closed your eyes.

“Go home, Agent, you need your sleep and I will make sure that you are informed of any changes in the case.”

The next morning saw you reading quietly, wearing an over-sized t-shirt and warm fluffy socks. The laptop was playing music quietly as you awaited for any alerts on either the case or the results of the audition - realistically, those were far more important. Despite always having loved acting, you couldn’t help but wonder why you were going in as an actress to the operation when it would far more sense to pose as a camera assistant or a makeup artist or, quite frankly, just any thing that wasn’t on camera.

Pulling you out of your reverie, your laptop began to incessantly ping as alerts and notifications began to come through.

You had gotten the part.

As the iPhone next to the laptop began to ring, you quickly picked it up without glancing at the Caller ID. “L/N.”

“Miss L/N, I am calling to inform you that you have earned the role of Anastasia Rzhekaya in the new Marvel film, ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Congratulations. An email has been sent to you detailing all dates and places where you need to be and a copy of the script that you will need to have started learning by next Saturday afternoon which is when we expect you to be on set.”

You blinked. “Wow! Thank you so much for this opportunity and I promise i won’t let you down! I’ll be there. Thank you again for this - you won’t regret it!” You giggled down the phone at the woman.

“Alright ma’am, Have a good day.”

“You too!” You squealed as she hung up before rolling your eyes. You were going to need to get that script ASAP.

You decided to ring Ford and fill him on everything that had happened as you packed bags that were organised by purpose (safe to say, your guns weren’t with your shampoo) and to tell him to get tickets booked so you could fly back out and re-acclimatise to Atlanta, Georgia because it had been a couple of years since you had been there last.

Admittedly, your acclimatising included vast amount of retail therapy that happened to make you walk the city and memorise its layout whilst dining in fancy restaurants at the expense of a certain intelligence agency. In your defense, they shouldn’t have given you an agency card for ‘equipment and undercover purposes’ and failed to take it back, which therefore made it entirely their fault... obviously.

Toast hanging out your mouth, you watched your printer print out your script, which you’d have memorised in a few days. Putting all of it in a ring-binder foler, you placed it in your hand luggage
