Sonic fandom when Maddie tells a construction worker that the damage Knuckles did was done by her "big kid" so as to not admit that she has alien anthropomorphic animal teenagers living in her house, and then follows that up by calling Knuckles by "our big red friend" to Sonic, with all of this happening after Sonic says he considers Knuckles to be his roommate: OMG Knuckles series confirmed Knuckles Wachowski CANON I cannot believe we won!! He's her kid this is his home he's Sonic's brother!! After the show he gets back to the Wachowski household and gets in sooo much trouble cause Maddie is his mom

There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation

I will never get over how funny it is to watch the fandom debate in circles about which popular stereotype the boys should fit into at any given time.

To see certain headcanons become ubiquitous in certain corners not necessarily because it's the majority's preference, but because it's the opposite of whatever's been popular before it. The reliance on over-correction is very, very funny to me.

As if Stan can't be into sports and music and board games at the same time. Or that Kyle can't be six feet tall and buff and a gut rotted bottom all at once.

The freedom that comes with not actually giving a shit about what's popular fanon interpretations is incredible and I implore everyone to try it sometime.

sometimes you just have to say: your interpretation is not my interpretation and move on with your day. even when it's people you like and respect like, sometimes people's headcanons just do not jive. it's fine. and being able to respectfully disagree and move on is so important. no one is ever going to see things exactly how you see them. even when you check a lot of boxes with other people, there will always be one headcanon or interpretation where you disagree, sometimes in really big ways, and it's fine

My headcanon is that Cadmus met Harmonia for the first time in Samothrace as he was settling here with his mother and nephew. Her mother died and Harmonia helped him bury her, which marked the beginning of their bond. Later he saw her again at Ares' castle as he was serving her father, which made him realize that she's in fact his daughter, whereas Electra and her sons are her adoptive family. After those eight years of being together they two got married at Samothrace instead of Thebes, because this was the place where they two met for the first time, and because Cadmus knew that Harmonia would've preferred to have her wedding take place on the same island where she spent her childhood.

Alright… what if Color and Red were friends?

Picture this: there is a celebration in the Omega timeline. The Stars just won a decisive victory over Nightmare’s gang. Everywhere you turn, there is someone either breathing a sigh of relief, or actively cheering on the victors.

Except those two skeletons in the corner, one with scarlet eye lights and one wreathed in vivid flames. They sit. They watch the festivities, somewhat - every few minutes one or the other checks their phone or glances around apprehensively. It seems like they are waiting for bad news, and while they don’t often acknowledge the other, it is clear that they are supporting each other in that moment.

I do think Color and Red would have been very secretive at first when it came to their connections to Killer and Dust - after all, declaring any sort of bond with a member of Nightmare’s gang could spell disaster for everyone involved. In time though, they figure it out - maybe after a few runs. Maybe Color finds out when Red is forced to kill Dust. Maybe Red finds out when Killer is dusted for associating with Color. Neither of them would want to talk about it at first, it would feel like a betrayal.

But maybe one day Red sees Dust get injured in battle. Dust is unable to contact him, and Red grows increasingly concerned… until Color pulls him aside and informs him that Dust is alive still, Killer mentioned it the last time they spoke. Over time, this becomes a habit - they keep each other up to date on what’s happening at the castle, exchanging tips on avoiding Nightmare and reasoning with his high LV workers.

Maybe they meet up after battles like this one, so the moment either Killer or Dust is able to update one of them, the other will know as well.

(Maybe there are times when they find out they failed, and then they are able to grieve in the company of one of the few other people in the multiverse who would empathize with that pain - the pain of losing someone so universally hated, someone still so precious to them.)

They understand each other. And they provide each other with small moments of comfort and companionship, in a multiverse where those feelings are far too rare.

I have no idea what Airfryer is, but thank you for your kindness anyway 🫡 no one has given me trouble for shipping PitayaFire (yet), thankfully. (Sometimes I wonder why? Never got too much trouble for shipping BurningCheese and Beast x Ancient, either. Maybe it's because I'm pretty unknown? 700-ish followers isn't much in the grand scheme of things. I suppose being such a small fry is a blessing in disguise.) I don't intend to pay them any mind if they ever do. Best not to bother with people like that. "Do what you want and be happy" is the way to go about things, I think. And I've got thick skin and more important things to worry about than internet randos bashing me for wanting the fire man to kiss+fuck the dragon lol

re: unconventional smiles, i’ve been building a folder for panels/screenshots of dc characters smiling w the goal of doing a smile study detailing the different ways certain characters will emote

but the project has fallen to the wayside these days bc, unfortunately, i have not been reading many comics where they have a reason to smile 😔
