I just wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts and feelings I’ve been grappling with lately.

Initially, I was terrified to come out. I worried about how my friends and family would react, about being misgendered, and about facing discrimination. I could barely imagine what life would look like as my true self. But then, I realized that the only way to find my voice was to use it, loud and proud.

So, I came out last year. It felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders, but it brought its own set of challenges. There were moments of confusion and misunderstanding, even from those I loved. But I also found immense support in the most unexpected places—like from coworkers who reacted with love and encouragement.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is the importance of community. Connecting with other transgender folks has been a game changer. I’ve attended support groups, gone to pride events, and even participated in local activism. It’s been empowering to see so many of us share our stories, struggles, and triumphs.

A couple of months ago, I started testosterone. The first injection was nerve-wracking, but as I continue on this journey, I can feel changes—both inside and out—and it’s honestly exhilarating. It’s like finally aligning my outward self with how I feel inside. I’ve been documenting my progress and it’s wild to look back and see how far I’ve come already.

If there’s one thing I want anyone reading this to take away, it’s that your journey is valid, no matter how different it may look from anyone else’s. It’s okay to feel scared, it’s okay to take your time, and it’s okay to ask for help. Just know that you’re not alone, and there’s a whole community out here ready to support you.

I loved you before you came to terms with what I knew to be your truth and I will love you long after. I will never not speak up for you.
