I GOT THE FIRST 4 FIGURES EGGMAN STATUE AHFKDBSKGJSKGH MY DREAM MERCH 🥰💜💕💖💜💘💕💗💜

I've longed for him since his reveal in 2014 and I never dreamed I'd ever get him. This guy is one of the one thousand made, 22 inches and HUGE compared to 99% of the rest of my large Eggman collection! Easily the new centerpiece!

Can't provide the best quality and lighting photos between moving, I'll provide much better ones after when he's in a nice protective display but here's the best mini showcase I can do for now with the setup

The quality and accuracy is amazing, perfect and stunning from every angle. He's so perfectly round, beautiful spherical boy 💜 The buttons, collar, and even the split from the pants to the top of his outfit having an indent is amazing

Of course his pose is taken from the iconic artwork and seeing it come to life in extremely detailed 3D is so cool

He also comes with swappable hands with two emeralds that connect via magnets as a reference to his juggling animation!

The emeralds are very shiny and pretty and the detail of his gloves with the seams, his palms, and the 3D button and raised cuffs, just wow

And his mouth has depth, tongue is 3D and raised, and his teeth are fully sculpted (It's very satisfying to put your fingers in his mouth 🥴)

The teeth wrap around and you can even see the lines from the back so he looks great from every angle. Not much merch includes his nostrils but he's got them here too!

He's so gorgeous, beautifully detailed, and absolutely huge, it's endlessly stunning and it feels like a dream to get to call him mine! 🤩

I'm hoping to get a huge display upgrade for him to be the centerpiece of the collection and when I do I'll provide many more much higher quality photos!

Modular Mech project update: The LBK-12 "Lunchpack", with swappable "Lunchboxes" in the right torso

Test printed torso and a blank hunch, just a friction fit right now but it's a lot more solid than I expected! I didn't even model in a tolerance gap, the model's a straight 0-clearance fit (only beveled edges to help align the pieces), but the printer handled it fine. (Bambu A1m w/0.2mm nozzle using PETG HF filament)

Considering: -Small notch+catch for more positive retention (May wear out over time?) -Dovetail slot (Longer term, more positive friction fit, requires high precision printing) -Cutouts for magnets in hunch+body (Probably best, though involves the most prep for the user)

As-is I imagine the piece should be primed + painted while assembled, leaving meet surfaces as clean plastic so as not to risk paint interfering with the fit.

Oh, and here's a look at the finished body now, just on to swappable weapons packs.

Each limb is still a separate segment so I can repose at will, I plan on arranging a variety of poses in the final file pack, as well as model a Lunchbox for every variant that only changes the hunch lunch.

For me, the day Bison graced my collection was the most important day of my life. But for him? It was Tuesday. This Jada Toys M. Bison is a seriously great toy I feel bad for sleeping on til now.

This is a $25 figure that has multiple hands, heads, an energy effect, extra shoulder pads, and a whole ass cloth cape with bendy wire. Wow! The articulation is also killer, as always. So many great poses just come as you pose him. The sculpt is great, the heads both capturing their respective expressions perfectly. Just wish he had a grinning face.

I will say, the swappable shoulder pads is a great idea with slightly awkward execution. The right bare shoulder pad doesn't want to pop on as easily as the others do. It can be done, but it's tricky.

After all that you still might be asking yourself: can I recommend this figure? Yes! Yes! I'd also be down for a Street Fighter Alpha series era Stump Chunkman-sized Bison if they ever get to that era.

Storm Collectibles The King Of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match: Blue Mary (Review)

Introduction: Storm Collectibles is a Hong Kong based designer and manufacturer of action figures. They are known for making officially licensed, high quality collectible action figures, primary from fighting game series and iconic figures. They have the license to make 1/12th scale action figures based on The King Of Fighters (KOF). These figures feature numerous points of articulation, interchangeable head sculpts and pairs of hands, and special fighting effect parts. Her boxart comes out to be given with large window plastic so, we can almost see the whole contents. And the front part was printed with KOF98 Ultimate Match logo and her artwork drawn by Shinkiro, and there is 17+ print that this figure was meant for those 17 years old or above. To be honest, compared to shf/figma storm is much user friendly since despite their sharp/choking hazard looking materials, perhaps it's because Mary doesn't have accessory that was made from a hard materials. While the back part is mostly shown the figure's promotional photos showing how the figure works and there's a SNK Funiverse sticker attached on them.

Contents: Mary herself comes with her main figure, she's included with 4 interchangeable head sculpts which the hairs are removable and swappable, 6 pair of hands in total, a single stomp effect for her iconic moves and a background paper diorama depicting USA stage in their old class 2D sprite style from in the game.

Blue Mary was originally came from Fatal Fury series game but, she later made her debut in KOF97 as the Outlaw Team (Special Team) teaming up with Ryuji Yamazaki and Billy Kane. Mary herself is a Private Detective, her official nickname is "S Class Woman" and "The Joint Crusher", she specializes in Commando Sambo. Mary's getup are red top, dark blue purple-ish gloves with yellow trim, dark blue purple-ish jeans with 2 belts; 1 black belt attached in her pants while another 1 is a loose dark brown colored belt and light brown shoes. Mary is not my first Storm figure collection so, I can tell she is a big improvement from Storm's past female figures, they finally updated her elbow into double jointed so, she can move her arms much better and posing her is surprisingly easy, although her ankles is a bit limited to move. Unlike in my previous blog reviews I'm not going to show photo comparison anymore nor even the detailed articulation works in here but, I made tons of photos showing how she was depicted in the game so I think that'll be more than enough to demonstrate how she plays. Her articulation points consisted movable head, torso, arms with bicep cut, double jointed elbow, wrists, legs with thigh, double jointed knee, ankles and tiptoe part. I love how they cleverly hides her torso cut by using her red top. I can make tons of her iconic move lists from her game with no sweat, she's pretty easy to play.

Mary was included with 4 head sculpts (HS) in total, first would be her standard smile with normal hair down. This expression is mainly used to show Mary's friendly nature even during her fight but, out from all this one has her neck socket a bit lower compared to her other HS. This made her head stands a bit taller. I tried to press it hard but it won't budge, perhaps I'm going to need a hair dryer or hot water to fix that but, too lazy to do that. Second HS is her winking smile expression to show her sassy style with alternate normal hair down. I don't really understand why she was given with identical hair part... Third HS is her serious expression with slight grit to show how serious she is during her fight with her left side bangs hanging on her ears. Mary used to flip her hair in her battle. Fourth HS is her yelling expression which mainly used for her fight scenes to be more intense with her bangs flowing to the right side. All of these head sculpts are swappable, you can make her expressions with all kinds of her hair parts. Her hairs were made from semi flexible rubber materials while her head from a hard PVC materials. While some people may think she's not good enough but, atleast imo they seemingly captured Shinkiro style's art on her face. But, I don't really disagree on their thoughts since most of her expressions felt kinda bland and empty on her. However, I'm still happy with how she turned out to be better than I expected.

Mary comes with 6 pair of hands in total, that would be: fistful hands which was already attached to her main figure, pointy hands to recreate her bang scene or any other of her various pointy finger poses, open splayed tiger style hands for recreating her iconic battle stance pose, open splayed and open palm hands for her necessary Sambo posing. Well, these hands are very convenient to make tons of her ingame poses. Her hands were also made from semi flexible rubber material so, her hands are safe enough but, it doesn't mean they're unbreakable.

It's too bad she's doesn't come with taser weapon nor her late boyfriend's coat nor even Anton the dog... But, I still had alot of fun playing this figure.

Mary also comes with stomping effect which mainly used for her Snatcher move list that followed from her Vertical Arrow. The effect got the same material as her hair and hands. To be honest, I like this way better compared to a fragile hard plastic like how Bandai did....

As for diorama paper, the stage was simply printed from the original sprite of KOF98 USA Background which, I understand they're meant to recreate the classic look for Mary's appearance in KOF98 but, the pixelated looks doesn't go well enough with the figure.

Damn... I could make her Splash Rose Desperation Moves perfect enough!

Dynamite Swing also turned out perfect!

Wow, I'm surprised Mary can stand on Tyris and Tyris can even withstand Mary's weight!

Okay, so this thing actually comes with 2 heads that have different expressions, 2 sets of arms that can be combined to form 4 different poses, and a swappable garter if you wanted to show the gun being stored on this dude's leg. It's actually kind of awesome! I also dig the dynamic pose.

The only real con I've run into so far has to do with the stand. It looks nice, but it's a little precarious. Sometimes Tieria wants to pop off. It's fine.

Either way, tax return well spent. 🌺

Introducing…

Have you ever been looking for a pose pack to show off your legacy or historical family and found one thats almost perfect, if only that one adult rig was a child... well, I certainly know that pain - but look no further!

With swappables you'll be able to swap toddler*, child, and adult rigs, and swap female rigs out for male rigs (or vice versa)!

I've been hoping to figure something like this out for a while now and i think i finally have it down!

For example, see how the base collections of 4 same-rig sims below can be used to make customised poses for your own sim arrangements? An added layer of customisation for your own needs!

Not all pose packs will be swappables, so be sure to look out for the swappable sign when new packs are posted, but i'm very excited to get some of these out and I can't wait to see what you think of them!

The first swappable pack will be out on 7th January for early access, and the 14th for public release!

*Toddler swaps may not always be avai;able as they may not logistically fit the pose, E.G. an adult couldnt be swapped with a toddler who is being held, and a toddler could swap with an adult weilding a sword (or something equally silly, you get the idea!). Infants will not be available for now, for the same reasons as above, unless they work in the pose pack.

Allow me to unveil an unpopular opinion, if you will.

I absolutely despise mermaid dolls. From the depths of my soul, I do not comprehend why people gush over them so much. I have never seen a mermaid doll that fully makes up for the inherent downsides it has by virtue of being a mermaid.

First off: the tails. Plastic, fabric, silicone, they are always in one way or another frustrating to display, pose, or style with the rest of the doll. They remove half of the potential the doll has by eliminating any other kind of fashion creativity with the whole bottom half. If you’re lucky you’ll get a tail with an intense theme or style that can make up for that, the Monster High Scarrier Reef dolls are actually good examples of this. But usually you have the same few fin shapes and shiny colors with little variation. And the articulation joints on tails? I’m not one to find articulated joints ugly in general, but they never look good on tails. They’re bulky and break up the silhouette, and they barely do anything anyway.

Secondly: the top half. The basic mermaid shell bra/top can die a burning death in a deep sea lava vent. They are so boring it brings me to tears. Slight variations on one theme that’s played out for far too long.

Secondly part two: even when a mermaid doll gets an actual piece of clothing for the top half, it barely ever makes sense. Mermaze attempted strong theming with the tails, even if it was weird as hell at times, but winter coats? Slumber party?? Color changing car??? (That ones not clothes but it’s just so much) What even are these themes for a line of fish girls????

Third: the very concept of a mermaid fashion doll is working against itself from the start. Dolls are intended for kids, who want to play and have fun and may get a little rough with them. Mermaids inherently imply underwater adventure and play. Fashion dolls have a focus on removable and swappable clothing pieces and styling of hair. Water play + fabric clothes = damage, potential mold. Elaborate stylized fins may be more prone to breaking if they have smaller/thinner pieces (see again Scarrier Reef). This is the reason Barbie dreamtopia mermaids still exist despite being a blight on creativity. They’re cheap, cheerful, and all plastic. And again even when individual pieces or whole dolls are cute, they are as boring as day old toast.

Even when mermaid dolls are not intended for kids, and are explicitly collector dolls, you still have the design working against itself. Less fashion, more bulk plastic with limited choices for articulation depending on the type of tail you go for, harder posing and display, and even full blown collector dolls rarely go as crazy creative as they could with all their potential.

And that’s the worst part, at last: I love sea creatures. Sea monsters, crazy and beautiful fish, deep sea abominations, coral and eels and sharks and whales and all kinds of insane stuff is there for the taking of inspiration. And nine times out of ten all of that is left off the table to instead make way for the same silhouettes, the same themes, and the same type of mermaid that’s been overdone since the Little Mermaid released.

In summary, a mermaid doll murdered my dog and stole my credit cards, sometimes you just have to pick a thing to be irrationally angry about to let it all come out, and personally I don’t vibe with mermaid dolls. More on the shelves for all the rest of you!

Plamo?: Bandai Shokugan 66 Action Dash: Mega Man 2

This is a series of mini-figures that i think were sold in blind boxes, maybe? I think i still have the boxes, they might have been labeled; but when i bought them, it was as a set of all five off of the shopping website i won't name here. They're not full model kits, mostly poseable mini figures with some changeable parts. But those extra parts come on tiny runners, so maybe that counts for something? lmao. But they all came pre-painted, which they did a pretty decent job on. it's nothing spectacular, but probably worth the price you'd pay in Japan (I actually didn't check the MSRP on these because i assumed i was getting them at a markup) The reason i ordered this set is because they came with Vile and X figures, which are compatible with the Super Minipla line of Ride Armor's from Mega Man X (which will be a separate entry on this blog)

CUT MAN:

This CutMan figurine is pretty nice. As you can see these are eminently poseable, but they're also a little fragile. Still, once you get them into a decent position they tend to stay. The Rolling Cutter actually has a good friction fit in his right hand. SUPER MEGA MAN:

I love this boy. As a kid i had (and still have actually) a pencil topper of Super Mega Man. I love this little figurine doing the rocket punch from the games that have this feature. Gotta point out the paint jobs on these are pretty okay. Not like super refined but they're definitely charming and great. GEO STELLAR / MEGA MAN STAR FORCE??:

I admit, i don't know much about this particular subseries. I tried to play the first star force once, but couldn't get into it. nonetheless, he came with the set, so here he is, posing for you! MEGA MAN X:

Okay so this and the next figure are the primary reasons i got this set. As you can see, it comes with swappable pieces that allow him to pilot the Ride Armor Super Minipla kits. Not going in depth on these here, but here you can see the "painted" (with gundam markers) job i did in 2020 when i went full hog into Plamo. I believe the silver used was a metallic silver gundam marker, GM177 to be exact. It was very stinky!! A strong, acrid smell. Anyway, I'm currently working on repaints of the Chimera kit to recreate game-accurate-ish versions of the Hawk and Kangaroo Armor. Actually, here's a sneak peak of that:

You know him as the devilish rival to X. You can see the minifig has a magazine for his vulcan coming from his backpack. The minifig is nice, though the only customization he has is the hands gripping the steering stick. Or you can make them look like he's laughing maniacally. Either way. Maybe the back of his head could use some panel lining and painting? but i don't feel like trying that over a pre-painted surface. Not sure why the joints seem to be splitting at the seams. Could be a good reason to revisit this model one day with sprue glue or some such. I usually keep these guys displayed diorama style in my light cabinet on the megamans shelf:

I know they've never actually faced off in their ride armors before. In my defense, toys are for making cool scenes so i will do just that with them. Anyway in conclusion, I really like Mega Man and have since i was a child, thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Here's the stats for this set (and yes some of the spare parts for these figs came on sprue)

Not super wasteful on the consumer side of the plastic equation.

This set of Bbokari and Jiniret were originally going to have magnets in their backs and clip together with Jiniret being the primary. As the primary he would have the keychain attached and Bbokari with his Jiniret ears would be swappable for other individuals.

Unfortunately this made them look a bit too heavy and hang lopsided. So these now just have alternating red and pink shirts with a pink Bbokari sunshine icon and strawberry cow face (I tried to do a Jini icon but was not happy with it so happy cow it is) on their backs instead. Their fronts have opposite strawberries.

It is easier to just give a 1/8" thick plywood panel two 'sides' and have the character on the opposite sides wear a headband or faux ears to make their head shapes match. It worked better for the Leebit/Han Quokka and Wolf Chan/Dwaeki panels than it did for the Jiniret/Dwaeki version as his head is a bit wide on that version. Very happy overall though with how they turned out. These three are still a work in progress.

The Foxy.IN Maknae on Top and 5 Cactus pose versions and their corresponding extra cacti charms are also a work in progress. I hope to finish painting them tomorrow and add them to the stack to get clear coated.

Still finishing the painting on the Joseon Era set and then will proceed to burn and cut the SKZoo Picnic, Tower of God, and maybe another Magic school set. I need all the new MV to be released before I can see what I can pull from them.

As an added note; apparently I have been misspelling 'jiniret' as 'Jineret' as in 'erret' like 'ferret' for ages now. Oops.
